I have Apple TV 4K
Bought HBO subscription thru iTunes.
Live tv works but when you got to a series or anything it takes you to the HBO NOW app. I go to the restore in purchase: iTunes option.
Then I get a message “Sorry we can’t verify your subscription. Sorry we couldn’t verify a subscription for you in iTunes”
Al my stuff is signed in on the same account. FIX!!
Same issue on the iPhone and iPad.

For $15/month? Are you joking? Uh HBO what the hell did you do to this app? This app should out perform every single streaming app out there for the ridiculous price they charge and instead it’s the worse one. In the spring they made a good update that allowed you to watch continuous episodes of a show without having to go back and choose the next episode. They finally made that adjustment after Netflix, Sling, Prime, and Hulu had this figured out for years. But then they decided to mess that up completely so that feature doesn’t work anymore. Anytime you try to watch a show the seasons bar and episodes are so difficult to use and in order to try to play continuous episodes you have to go to the episode and hit the play button. You hope once you do that you’ll get continuous streaming like they had before but nope. You get a few episodes in a row and then it goes back to a page you were never on where you fumble around trying to figure out how to go back to the episode you were just watching and hit the play button so you can get just a few more episodes in a row before this happens again. The new setup is so dumb and inconvenient when you’re trying to browse too. Hey HBO and the high af people who put this mess together; Put the menu bar back on the left side of the screen, put shows and movies back where they were, making it much easier to find what you’re looking for, and fix the continuous episode glitch so that it works as well as it did when you first came out with it. You can’t charge $15/month and have an app that’s complete garbage. I don’t care what shows are on it I’ll drop the service in a minute if things don’t change soon and I’ll bet a ton of other people will too.
Long time HBO customer will leave 2/5
I’m a long time customer. HBO Now works fine, tho it’s a very clunky interface compared to others. My big problem is content for price. As a long term customer, I ask what’s new for programming? I’m tired of very little new to watch that’s actually watchable. Even Hulu is beating you with content at $6/mo. I may not last thru the month.

Whether it be on the app or on your webpage, you guys make it nearly impossible to sign in as a SUBSCRIBER. Which means I pay $15 A MONTH for a streaming platform I can’t sign into. You don’t have any option to sign in using email and password and instead you are pushing provider services.

The old app was clunky and not intuitive to use, but it was mostly alphabetical and somewhat made sense. This new update is just plain garbage. On my Roku smart tv it’s even worse. Hopefully since they are investing in hbo max, they will put some money into making their apps better

Great content but I use my work trips to catch up. Without offline viewing this takes a back seat to Prime and Netflix. Likely going to cancel altogether.

Why can’t I watch Realtime until days after it airs? It’s ridiculous that a topical news show isn’t posted on HBO Now within 12 hours - I’m on the west coast.
I can watch it as it airs with my Comcast subscription - and it’s available as an On Demand offering the same day. I cut the cord, now pay HBO directly & am punished for it.
Same thing with buying HBO as a channel through Amazon - no Bill Maher for days.
Hey, Bill - do you know this is happening? We need you on Friday night, not Tuesday afternoon. Especially now.
I can’t even sign up for an alert to announce when a “new” episode of RT is available- I have to keep checking the app.
HBO - Please do a solid for your streaming audience & give us the content we paid for at the same time as the cable audience. It’s 2019. Figure it out.
I canceled my subscription - I’ll listen to the free Podcast which is often available sooner than the paid subscription. I’ll come back as soon as I can watch Bill on Friday nights without having to pay for Comcast.
Also - the watch list sorting feature isn’t working - I have to try twice to sort the list by A-Z.

Stop recommending/featuring movies I’ve already watched (same for Amazon FireTV channel ads). You have the data. Personalization is cost of entry - if you push the same movie at me 40 times, I’m going to think you have a slim selection of content. (And that you don’t care about me.)

This app is ridiculous.. trying to watch the Ballers series and constantly have to restart it??? WHY?? Fix it!! Maybe your IT people need to learn something from Netflix.
I can promise you that I will be cancelling the account and will not bother to sign up for HBO ever again. The cost to benefit ratio is zero.
I have no idea what is going on in the company but it’s not going to survive much longer with crap service and way better options for streaming. I doubt i will even finish the series because I would rather enjoy my limited free time actually being able to watch something, than constantly getting an error message!!
And by looking at the other reviews it doesn’t seem like you have listened to anything that was said because you are still having the same issues!! Forget the empty apology and fix your service.
And YES I have the Most current software and the update pathetic app .. and yes i can stream with no issue Amazon Prime and Netflix so what other reason? Oh right comment on Bandwidth.. and network.. hmm nice try but why do the other streaming services not have that issue at the time I TRY to watch a HBO service that I am paying for it to constantly crash?!

- no one wants to forward or rewind just 10 seconds
- constantly mistakes taps on bar for ‘Continue watching X show/movie’ for clicks on other content behind it
- unable to handle streaming content at peak times. I’ve tried pausing to allow more content to load, and not only will it unpause itself and require pausing but it still constantly lags every few seconds. We literally have been unable to get through a minute of a show or movie without 10 buffering lags at times, despite reloading the app, making sure nothing else was happening on our network, etc. Netflix doesn’t have this problem — definitely this app.
In short, don’t try to watch a popular show or movie at a peak viewing time unless you want to waste half an hour on the show or movie lagging. I’m writing this during each time it stops to ‘buffer’ — and again, we tried restarting the app, tried pausing it for awhile so it could load ahead. Still lagging

I was with DirecTV and watched the whole first season of Succession. Switched to Dish recently so no HBO there. Subscribed to HBO Now and have been unable to watch one entire episode of anything. I can watch Netflix and Amazon both with no problems, but not HBO Now. I have tried on my Mac, iPad and iPhone, all with no success. I am very disappointed because there are several shows on HBO that I enjoyed but can’t watch.

This app showed up when I went under the Samsung gear app looking for good apps. Presenting it as an app that works with the watch when it is not is misleading.

One of the worst apps for streaming 2/5
Content is excellent, as the HBO brand has proven itself there. What makes the app miserable is that I cannot get through an entire episode of anything without getting a pop up saying the content is unavailable. If a text or call comes in then I go back to the paused screen there may or may not be sound, may or may not have picture, may or may not resume at all. This does not happen when I use other apps from platforms/providers who are newer to the scene than HBO. Why? .... I also do not like that the app doesn’t tailor content on the home page based on variables like other apps.

It requires a strong WiFi connection and data will usually require it to restart and reconnect which will make you lose all your buffered video. If you want HBO, install it on your TV or iPad that can be only used at home. It’s not ideal to use this app while traveling or commuting unlike Netflix that let’s you stay connected well even on WiFi.

Just canceled my HBO NOW subscription, reluctantly. The app was too frustrating to use, especially the constant crashing and buffering. I will be back in a heartbeat as soon as HBO fixes the streaming problems in the app.

It crashes. Continuously. I can’t actually get the app to run long enough to try and play any videos before it just shuts down. What I’ve seen of the new organization I didn’t mind it, but I haven’t seen my show for two weeks because I can’t get the app to stay open for more than 30 seconds.

Truly terrible software. Doesn’t load videos, crashes often, constantly plagued by problems. Also, HBOs content is trash, and (and) they purposefully make this difficult to unsubscribe from so that you’ll end up getting charged - repeatedly - for this terrible experience.

There is no option to add to My List. The item just starts playing when I select it. If there is an option for this, I sure don’t see it. Rather frustrating.

Can you please allow us to search actors and directors from the search bar? If I want to watch two Leo DiCaprio movies back to back, it should be as accessible as it is on the Netflix app. Such a key feature and I’m truly surprised it’s not in the HBO app....

HBO Now is absolutely terrible at however they upload their streams. I’m a soldier in Iraq using a VPN and HBO always has issues with buffering after every 10 seconds of playing the video. Even in the US it would always buffer while watching my shows. I’d say it was my internet but miraculously Netflix and Vudu work just fine without any issues.

Problem with viewing HBO latino 3/5
I’m kind of disappointed that I can’t access all of the programming being offered even though I’m paying a full price every month. It’s nothing like when I used a tv provider that carried hbo and other premium channels. Can you address this issue for customers who also enjoy entertainment in Spanish, our dollars are just as green are they not?
