    The app is just clunky and old feeling. You can finally save shows to your list but it’s not even the first thing you see when you open the app. I always need closed captioning but it doesn’t keep them on from episode to episode. Each episode, I have to open the app, let it buffer to show the connection with my TV and then turn on closed captioning again. Then because it only rewinds 10 seconds at a time, I have to keep rewinding, waiting for buffering, rewind again to get back to the beginning (when the closed captioning should have just been on). Not very assessable

    Doesn’t work with xbox one. When attempting to play content, it reverts back to the browse menu. Tried deleting app, re-installing, etc, etc, etc to no avail.

    When I start a show that was previously watched, the show starts at the very end, and then... it ends. There isn’t even enough time to pause/rewind. Abysmal.

    Works just ok on mobile and tablet, but painful on Apple TV. Slow, poor picture quality and constantly buffering. Streaming quality well behind other apps. I don’t recall HBO Now being this bad before I gave it up.

    If you are into watch 3 blue dots to blink at you while you wonder why you pay for this, then this is the app to use. I have tried many times to watch and it just simply will not load. I tried other streaming companies to see if it was my internet connection, or my device and they performed perfectly. They were also cheaper!

    I have downloaded this app twice. The first time for game of thrones and with the upcoming season decided to redownload it forgetting how horrible it is. It freezes every 3 minutes that’s it you get the film or show to load. You’d be lucky to get past the screen freezing on the HBO previews but you can still hear your show ongoing. You think they’d fix this being one of the most expensive apps to stream.

    I was really like HBO now! I didn’t think I would enjoy it as much as I did! I’ve been super busy so I didn’t really watch much, but it has a lot of good movies, shows, documentaries, ect. What changed my mind about coming back in the future was how hard they make it to CANCEL the subscription. I’ve never taken so long to do it. Because HBO only allows you to cancel on desktop, but everytime you to try to go on desktop mode it just goes to the app, giving you no way to cancel. Very annoying !! I had to google ways to get on desktop on most methods didn’t work. I’m pretty sure HBO knows most people just use ontheir mobile devices. Anyway! It shouldn’t have taken me that long to cancel!!! In my head I’m thinking well I want to come back when I’m financially able to just let me cancel now!!!! Seriously guys just put it on the app!!! It’s not the hard .

    I can’t get through a movie or TV show without it crashing. It then takes 5-10 minutes of “can’t connect to HBO network or network error” before I can resume watching. Then it doesn’t remember where I left off and have to refind it. Get the free month then cancel. Not worth the monthly subscription at all.

    Never again 🤦🏾‍♀️ if I could give this zero stars I would. They act like they’re helping you and they’re not. Going back in forth over email never answer questions on the phone. Stole money from me twice and still telling me my Refund is on the way when it’s been three months and the email they sent me clearly states 7-10 days. I will never subscribe to HBO again.

    This app is not a simple app to use. There is to much going on. Maybe if your using it to watch one show at a time, but to watch multiple episodes of a series, its annoying to try and find the next episode. Fix the layout and it will be much better.

    I finally got fed up with the whole HBO/Dish Network fiasco, missing live runs of Real Time with Bill Maher. So I subscribed to HBO Now last night believing I could live stream the Show at 10pm ET. Not so!! What a joke. I’ll be ending my trial subscription soon.

    This app is terribly designed. First, if I’m watching a tv series, that series info page should pop up on the home screen in a “continue watching” option. The only option I get is to pick up on an episode I watched, but didn’t complete watching the credits of. This is not helpful. When I first open the app, it should give the series overview of the shows I’ve been watching, similar to literally every other streaming service out there. Second, changing my subscription was beyond frustrating. I understand that I can’t cancel or change a subscription through the app, that is pretty standard. However, I can’t change my subscription on my iPad or iPhone browsers! I have to dig out my old laptop and cancel via a desktop browser. I guess if it makes it harder to cancel, HBO is doing their job I guess.

    So the only way to watch HBO on my VIZIO TV is to cast through the app on my iPhone because somehow VIZIO does not let you download additional apps for streaming purposes. Though the SmartCast option was actually available before, it is no longer there. The customer service from HBO told me that they only support AirPlay or Chromecast. I would love to see an update of the HBO NOW app supporting SmartCast since it makes little sense to redirect your customers to buying another device (i.e., chromecast) in addition to the tv and the phone to use the streaming service they already paid for.

    For the self proclaimed best content, I expected a seamless video streaming to be a part of my subscription. This app is mediocre when functioning on my Xbox one. I have uninstalled, reinstalled and done all the trouble shooting and it still times out 7-8 times before ever even playing. HBO NOW was the last service I subscribed to after Netflix, amazon video and Hulu. It’s a shame that all those other apps work perfectly whereas this one is the exact opposite. Although I love the content, I am reconsidering my membership. I have resorted to streaming off my laptop and watching via HDMI when I should have full functionality through my Xbox one just like every other streaming service.

    Two major pain points I encounter every time I use the app is not having an easy way to access more episodes or the series page from the “continue watching” page and not having more filter options when browsing. Another issue is not being able to turn off auto play; it is the reason I often need to switch episodes from my continue watching prompt.

    In comparison to other options, your user experience is not good. The layout is not good. Having to manually scrub through intro content without and option to skip is not good. Searching for content is not good. The list goes on and on. And again, in comparison to other options available, I’m paying more for your services then Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc...and of all other streaming options, I am provided the least amount of content available compared to other options. I will try it for a while, but not impressed at all.

    Latest update appears broken. When I try to watch, it’ll tell me I’m watching elsewhere. There’s only two devices on the account and I can confirm that the other device (PS4) is asleep. I use the sign out of all devices feature, close and reopen the app, restore purchases from iTunes, and it still gives the error that I’m watching elsewhere. State management for signed in status not ready for release.

The content is great but to get there AND use it is horrible. Please do your best HBO do your best to improve on what could be a halfway decent app.

    I have used Hulu and Netflix for years with 0 problems streaming any of their content they work 99% of the time effortlessly. I signed up for a free trial for HBO because everybody talked about how good it was. STREAMING ON THIS APP IS SO BAD. It literally didn’t even let me start any show or movies I clicked on just an error code wow it’s 2019 wth streaming should be easy.

    My mother sister and father went to the movies to see Jurassic world fallen kingdom but I went with my grandfather to play airsoft but that’s irrelevant. I was sad I missed the movie but I’d rather miss it than miss the game. I was watching a movie on HBO when I saw s clip of jurassic World fallen Kingdom I was so exited I could watch it it said coming March 8 which is today but it’s not on.
