Hello Weather App

Hi, we're Jonas, Trevor, and Dan, the crew behind Hello Weather. There are a million weather apps out there, and they're all overloaded with ugly ads, confusing interfaces, and stupid gimmicks. We think that stinks, so we made the antidote—a straightforward, no-nonsense app that’s a joy to use. Five reasons why you’ll love planning your day with Hello Weather... 1. All the info you need is right in your face. Our gorgeous, information-rich design shows you everything that matters in one simple screen. You’ll see the current conditions and future forecast in an instant. 2. You won’t waste time looking at useless stuff. Hello Weather intelligently adapts to changing conditions. When it's stormy, you’ll see all the relevant details right upfront. When conditions improve, it’s all tucked neatly out of the way again. 3. You’ll get predictions you can trust. Hello Weather is more than a pretty face. It’s powered by the world’s best data sources: Dark Sky, AccuWeather, The Weather Company, and AerisWeather. Pick the provider that's best in your area, or switch back and forth to compare. (Upgrade required.) 4. You don’t need to be a weather expert. What does barometric pressure mean? Is the dewpoint good or bad? We translated those esoteric stats into human words, so you’ll know how it really feels outside. 5. It’ll make you smile. We filled the app with tons of thoughtful little touches to brighten your day. You’ll love the beautiful color themes, automatic night mode, and sweet secret extras. And that's not all… • Radar’s built right in. When a storm's a-brewin', we've got your back! Our powerful radar tab shows you exactly what's headed your way. (Available in the US, UK, Europe, Canada, Japan, and Australia.) • Apple Watch app, complications, and widgets too! See the same great forecasts at a quick glance on your wrist or Today screen. • Made with <3 by a tiny indie company. We pour a lot of love into our app, and we take great care of our customers. We're always just an email or tweet away! Here's what the experts say: "An easy, straightforward weather app that shows you just what you need to know." — AppAdvice "Hello Weather strips it down to the essence." — Macworld "Very smart, with a clean layout and readable graphs. It eschews complexity without limiting information." — TechRadar "Well designed and clearly made with love, with lots of delightful little details throughout. — Tools and Toys" --- Hello Weather's FREE forever and it’s only $6.99/year for the Pro stuff. Hello Weather app reviews

  • Great, really great app! 5/5

    By Hindlmay
Hello Weather developers made an excellent job: a simple, clean app and at the same time full of info - the info that matters. For a long time I looked for a weather app like this, and now I’m happy I finally found it.
  • The weather app I’ve been waiting for! 5/5

    By HexDump
Finally! Someone who knows how to design user interfaces created a weather app! The UI for the app and the widget for the iOS pull-down menu are both modern looking, clean and functional. You know those other weather apps we’ve all been using for ages? The ones with ugly, cluttered UI’s that seem to either be missing some basic information about the weather, or you just can’t figure out where to click to find it? Uninstall them. Get this.

I was excited until I realized what a horrible app this is and how it doesn’t work at all!
  • Massive fan 5/5

    By Holodoctor1
I am such a massive fan of Hello Weather. I particularly like the ability to select the source of your weather data on the paid plan. I love that! App is clean and looks great. Well done! My one (very small) request is to be able to move modules around. For example, I’d love to move the “this week” section above the “current weather” section. Ps- the release “update” notes are hilarious 🤣😂🤣
  • Great Weather App 4/5

    By gaymeboy1188
Great weather app with multiple sources(with a 6.99 yearly sub). Beautiful, easy to read layout. Watch app is just as cute and colorful. Radar is clear and crisp with different overlays but I only use it for precipitation. I wish it had notifications, specifically rain notifications. Would also love to see more complications for the watch. Good job guys.
  • Another subscription service 1/5

    By w. sielski
Every app I get these days is a subscription service. For each one I get I write a one star review. I think it’s a terrible business practice.
  • Almost Great 4/5

    By Jayem1215
My wife and I both work outside so a good weather app is important to us. I have tried most all of them. I always go back to weatherbug. I like how the radar in weatherbug can have multiple pinned locations simultaneously without having to switch locations. Our house, her work, and my work. Also, estimated rain totals for a location. I want to love this app! Hello Weather is a very good weather app! You’re soooo close to great! Please implement these things.
  • Love the updates 5/5

You get 5 stars for the Smash Mouth parody release notes :-)
  • Nice but there could be tweeks 4/5

    By COOLGIRL1812
This is very useful but I noticed that it will stay open and decrease my battery. This isn’t helpful I’m 10 and I do a lot of stuff like Monday-Wednesday I’m going to my new schools volleyball camp and I’ll need my watch. Please fix if u can and if not please respond. Why can’t u actually close it even if u have to open it and wait a sec for it to check weather?
  • Please add a feature to switch between locations! 5/5

    By Danielle Pan
I love the clean UI and concise weather information! I live in the Bay Area which has very different microclimates. There could be a 10 degree difference between where I live and where I work. I would love if I could swipe left or right to quickly switch between cities! Anyways, thanks for such a great app!
  • iPhone a 5/Watch a 2 3/5

    By nellysisgone
This is my home screen weather app and I immediately subscribed once they announced the Watch app was coming. It theory I like that as well, but despite repeated attempts to use it as my main watch face app (and granting constant access to my location), the Watch app just doesn’t update my temperature until I tap the complication. So for now it will remain on my home screen but other meatbags will get the control of my watch. Hope you can figure it out.
  • iOS 13 5/5

    By glitvh
So when iOS 13 comes out, will you guys support the new dark mode
  • Nice Interface; Simple Details 3/5

    By Audio Gumshoe
I really like most of the features of this app, but I was disappointed about the availability of complications for the Apple Watch Series 3. I originally downloaded this because it showed that it had good features for the Apple Watch. The basic interface is great on the watch. No complaints at all regarding the interface, the information available, and the overall layout. My one dislike of Apple watches is that the app folder is clunky. So accessing an app that does not have a complication is an exercise in frustration. Though I was delighted to see that this weather app offered complications, I was disappointed after loading it. The complications apparently only work on series 4 watches. None of the watch faces I tried (or would even use) offered Hello Weather complications. I’ll return to my subscription upgrade of this app when these are added. Or, I suppose, when I upgrade my watch to series 4. That’s not happening in the very near future.
  • You can’t get hour by hour weather for future days, but you DO get cute sun icons...? 3/5

    By Middle-Age Snow Day
I’m always in search of “the perfect” weather app. I have to admit that Hello Weather is the easiest to read and most friendly looking weather app I’ve ever used. What I’m most upset about is that I can’t see future days hour by hour. For example I see that tomorrow will be partly cloudy with a high of 85 degrees. But I want to be able to select tomorrow and see hour by hour what the temp will be. It’s important for me to know the temperature at 7am when I’m leaving for work. Also it might tell me it’s going to rain two days from now but when? What time? I want to be able to tap on Thursday and see that rain starts at 1pm and ends at 4pm Maybe I’m missing something. I sure hope the developer can tell me how to get this info. It seems like a huge shortcoming. Every other weather app I have will give me this info. Even the free ones. I think I definitely jumped the gun when I paid for a yearly subscription with Hello Weather.
  • Great app! 5/5

    By claflou
    Cute and helpful app.
  • NO RADAR 1/5

    By Svs64
"Super useful forcasts and radar." That's the app store description. You have to PAY to get radar. I understand you have to make money, but this is misleading. Deleted.
  • Great concept, needs improvement 3/5

    By deehay123
I WANT to love this app- the simplicity and appealing design is eye-pleasing and easy to use and navigate through. On the other hand, $7/year just to have access to the radar is a little ridiculous. I understand that there are no ads so you have to make your money somehow, but that’s just too pricey in my opinion when I can have easy access to the weather radar on another app. Also, the accuracy of predicted weather, even an hour from now, is annoyingly inaccurate. Numerous of times I have prepared for a 100% sunny day due to the apps weather prediction for the day, then it happens to monsoon at an inconvenient time while I have no rain jacket nor umbrella (because who needs those things when the sun should be shining all day?).. my point is, its unreliable to the point where I have to double check on another app to be sure that the weather is predicted accurately. Other than that, I love the idea of this app, the nice widget option, and I really like how the weather is given to you in simple layman’s terms. I’d buy the app if it were cheaper and once it improves a bit.
  • $7 a year for anything worthwhile 1/5

    By El quatro da bosssss
you have to buy their stupid paid upgrade. $7 a year after a 3 day trial. you can’t even access the apple watch app without the paid upgrade. I specifically found this app on the apple watch app store under free items. this is blatant false advertising. disgusting!!!!!🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
  • Radar is a premium feature? 2/5

    By T. Jefferson
Seemed like a good app, but radar is a premium feature. Deleted
  • Pretty great app 4/5

    By rsd22
I use the iOS app for of all my weather needs on my iphone but I still use Carrot on my iWatch. I wish Hello Weather showed you the “feels like” temp on the watch. Where I live the feels like temp can be quite different from the actual. Moreover I wear glasses being far sighted. Can’t see near. Changing the bar on Hello on the watch so it shows a “hot” color or a “cold” color so at quick glance I know what the day will be like without being able to see the watch high and low. Hello is a Great app. Just not my all around weather app as Carrot does the watch excellent. Some day Hello will be all round app. Please and thank you.
  • Disappointed 1/5

    By Goofgoo
Functionality on Apple Watch was less than overwhelming. No radar. Hour by hour is not easy to spot.
  • Nothing irks me more 1/5

    By Sudodaemon
Than an app that says it is free to download for the watch, then, when you open the app it says “you need premium to enjoy the watch app”... instant delete. Don’t play with me like that.
  • Love This App 5/5

    By BadRobot2013
I try every app that comes along to feed my obsession with the weather. I also recently upgraded my Apple Watch and was looking for something that would would work with a watch face complication. Hello Weather has great graphics, information in easy to read layouts and is Apple Watch friendly. Developers are also very attentive. Had a minor issue with sync. My email help cry was answered within an hour.
  • I really enjoy this app 5/5

    By AWiZZLE5
I have tried so many different weather applications. This one is almost perfect. I use the Dark sky portion when rain is expected. Then I use the Weather Channel for daily forecasts. I only wish the app had better estimates on the rain in inches.
  • Very accurate!! 5/5

    By Proud dad 30
One of the few weather apps that actually gives you better and accurate forecast.
  • not working well right now!! 1/5

    By Jcookc6
just not working at all. shuts off right away.
  • Apple Watch experience goes to 11 5/5

    By Smartkahuna H
I loved this app for my phone and happily gave it five stars. But the new Apple Watch capability deserves an 11! This app shows what an Apple Watch app should be. Intuitive UX, just enough info without crowding the screen-super smart slide for more detail when you want it. I’m super impressed!
  • Very good app 5/5

    By PhilW45
I really enjoy this app much more than I thought I would. It’s precipitation forecasts are very accurate and helpful when planning park visits.
  • My watch says “upgrade required “. 2/5

    By kirkpetersen407364
I purchased the upgrade for my new I watch. But when I try to use it, it tells me upgrade required. I already upgraded. Does it take a while for the upgrade to take affect?? Kinda bummed
  • Hello weather 3/5

    By oldnavy85
To whom ever developed this app, The only problem with this app is ; that you have to upgrade to the pro fan club to be able to get radar and also need the pro fan club for the Apple Watch app for hello weather. Thanks, Bigdog61
  • Unable to overlay radar over warnings? 3/5

    By JohnWx
Unless I missed something, why am I unable to overlay radar on top of warnings? This is a basic feature for just about all weather apps today, especially paid ones.
  • CRASHING 1/5

    By MingusKhan
Really liked this app until today when it started crashing every time I tried opening it on my watch.
  • Beautiful and simple yet info-rich 5/5

    By AndrewP MD
Everything I ever wanted in a weather app! It has the accurate weather forecasts of Dark Sky, but is much more readable and beautiful. The color-coded infographics make it easy to check the weather at a glance. Best of all there are no intrusive ads. Even if you choose not to pay for the subscription, there is just one simple, non-distracting banner encouraging you to get an annual sub for full features. I was disappointed that the Apple Watch companion was hidden behind a pay wall, but I was so impressed by the iPhone app that I went ahead and subscribed for a year. In my opinion this is the best weather app on the market, but I can’t help but mention that I feel although the $6.99 annual pricing is manageable, it feels rather steep compared to other weather apps. The inclusion of multiple data sources is a really nice feature but I could live with a few less sources if the annual sub was a few dollars cheaper or if it was a flat one-time fee. All-in-all I am incredibly impressed with these devs. Keep up the great work!
  • Free? 1/5

    By Deivett
Have to pay in order to unlock almost all features...paid features are free on other apps..
  • Customer privacy policy 5/5

    By Lilacfractals
This is a trail-blazing weather app and my favorite for many reasons but mostly because of the developers’ stance on privacy and tracking. Too many companies track and bombard customers with messy ads while selling our data on top of charging us for their sketchy ad-laden services anyway! It’s unethical and I’m glad the makers of Hello Weather recognize that. We should demand the same consideration from other service providers across platforms and support those like Hello Weather who get it. The free version is great but I will be happy to subscribe. The only hesitation has been the cringe-inducing terminology associated with subscribing. “Join the Fan Club”? C’mon, guys. Is that actually appealing to anyone? Other than that, as long as the developers continue to honor customer privacy and don’t deviate from their ethics and quality standards, their app is well-worth a yearly subscription. To the developers and team: Great job and thank you!!
  • Another review? 3/5

    By Jenderle7
I know I reviewed this app recently but it apparently no longer exists 🤷🏼‍♂️ Anyways I was loving this app. It has almost everything I want in a simple, well designed weather app. My only gripe in my last review was the lack of a daily forecast in the widget, which the android version offers. Not too big a deal. My problem recently is the useless watch complication that rarely updates if at all. I gave it some time before writing a review assuming that the developer could remedy this. Yet here we are. I get the difficulty of developing for the watch but many other app developers have this clearly figured out. Maybe reach out to one of them? I used Carrot weather before this and never had these issues or they were extremely rare. Constantly having to open the app and force sync is a quick fix but not a solution. Hopefully this is figured out soon. Edit: decided to uninstall, gave up on the watch complication syncing. Back to Carrot weather unfortunately.
  • Replaced Dark Sky with this 5/5

    By Sqrt(-1)
Dark Sky is an excellent app, but I prefer the simplicity and choice of weather feeds Hello Weather offers. Nice widget too. Well done, developers!
  • Great App! 5/5

    By FlaLandscaper
I’m a landscaper in Florida and have to follow the weather very closely. I use an Apple Watch and have tried every available app with no success. They simply didn’t either display the information in a easy to read form or display all of the information I needed. I just started using Hello Weather and I love it! The display is clear and easy to view on the watch. It has the rain percentages, daily and hourly that I need. Even better, it get’s it’s info from Dark Sky which I believe is the most accurate. Thanks for the great app! Finally something I can use.
  • Pollen Count and Air Quality 5/5

    By ❤️Josie❤️
Howdy Devs! This app is very nice, in my opinion. It’s incredibly aesthetically pleasing (the graphics seem squishy and cute), and the interface isn’t overly cluttered like most other weather apps out there. It tells you what you need to know without the extra fluff, and I really like that. Because personally, I have ADHD and I can read something without absorbing it. That happens a lot more with text that is cluttered. This app makes things clear and concise. One thing I REALLY need from this app, though, is pollen count and air quality. If you could somehow implement an allergy impact feature that kind of tailors to the user, that would be cool too. I understand that something like that is big though, and I’d be cool if y’all could at least have pollen count and air quality, lol. Thanks for the super cool app guys! Keep up the good work!
  • Good stuff 5/5

    By ProfDigory
Love the app. My go to weather app.
  • A Weather app with no nonsense and no tracking 5/5

    By babakf79
Finally a weather app that is not spying on you! It deserves to be the number one on this category.
  • Less is more 5/5

    By ta2vampyre
I love this app. All useful info is front and center or a tap away. The layout is thoughtful. Well worth a lousy 7 bucks a year. I subscribed!
  • Apple Watch support 1/5

    By RBone19
Now I love the idea of the app. You can have the weather right on your wrist. Though it says it has support for the Apple Watch and looked amazing from the photos. So I gave it a try as I’m a new Apple Watch user and trying to find some good apps that won’t cost me a ton. I found it semi deceitful that it shows up in the Apple Watch store for free. Though you can’t access the Apple Watch app unless you pay 6.99/year. I know it’s not a ton but I’m in school right now and don’t make a ton and I can’t just go spending my money on everything. Don’t get me wrong it was good on IOS but the fact that it’s hidden that you have to pay to access the Watch app is to me wrong because it says it’s available. for free on the Apple Watch store. If anyone knows of good weather and other apps for the Apple Watch please let me know. Thank you.
  • Good 4/5

    By 💤😘😘👋
The app is really good and the way you can do it makes it easier
  • Nothing special 3/5

    By jskamelia
Save your money. You get more detail on the iPhone with Accuweather or Wunderground. I guess the watch app has a little more functionality but it’s missing any radar based short term precipitation forecast like you get with Dark Sky and Accuweather.
  • Hello weather 5/5

    By Sherry Blair
I like this app I haven’t had it long but I like the setup it has
  • Will not load 1/5

    By Dez6955
Cannot get it to load on my Apple Watch. It keeps telling me to turn on location services but they are already on
