We stayed at Doubletree in Columbia over the weekend, love this place everyone in the hotel was very friendly, the hotel was very clean. The training on how to treat customers need to move throughout the hotel industry. I just wish you get points other ways besides stats we’re not big travels right now. No doubt we stay at Hilton. If you stay in Columbia you must go to the Roof it’s amazing..

I was able to check in ahead of time using the app. But the digital key hasn’t worked the last two times, which requires me to check in at the desk anyway to get a plastic card. The checkout function didn’t work either.

Every time I open the app, it wants Bluetooth access or I have to hit ok. It doesn’t explain why exactly it needs it or with which accessories it can interact. Why do I need this dialog box every time I open the app? If I wanted to grant access, I would have already.

The app got updated after which it no longer tracks previous hotel stays or points. Called the Dimond desk a few times on the topic, first 2 times was told to reinstall the app and the 3rd time was told that the app will no longer support my phone (iPhone 7 running iOS 12.3.1).
It’s been like this for almost 3 months.

The digital key technology is great. Having to pull out and unlock your iPhone to unlock the door while your hands are full of luggage? Not so great.
When will you make the digital key available as a feature for the Apple Watch? Couldn’t you leverage the Apple Pay technology so I can just open Apple Pay on my watch and hold it up to the door lock??

The log in and password not enough for a ste that has little down side of fake log in. To declare that one is not a robot and identifying object are a silly way to log in and especially to a site which has zero interest to help identifying hotels for travelers. I think that your site is poorly managed and has little help to your loyal customers.

We spent 8 days on the road and stayed at a Hampton Inn every night. This is an excellent hotel chain. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling.
App Is Completely Useless During Your Stay 1/5
The app works fine when you don’t have a reservation or aren’t within a certain distance from a Hilton property. I use it to check my status and points. But without fail, during my stay, the app logs me out every time I enter or leave the hotel. It disables FaceID, and I lose my digital key. The idea of bypassing the front desk for check-in or check-out is never a reality for me. The idea of not carrying a key card in my wallet and using a digital key is never a reality. The app is a complete disaster. It’s useless.
App is easy to use, fast, and has a great UI.

I have 10 stays so far this year and have yet to be able to check out from the app. This is so frustrating! Don’t send me a reminder if it isn’t going to work.
I also have an issue with digital check in if you aren’t going to give me the room I pick. I get it if I try to check in earlier than my stated time but if I show up after, I should get the room I pick! Most recently I specifically booked (and paid extra for) the option for high floor. Then chose my room on the 7th (top) floor. I checked in 2 hours past when I thought (LA traffic) and got a room on the 4th floor with street noise. What’s the point?
Also, why do I need to indicate that 3 people are staying in the room and you only prepare it with 2 towels? This has actually happened multiple times.
Please don’t provide these options to honors members if you aren’t going to honor them.

I’ve never gotten the check out feature to work. Also, you can’t see the status of room charges.

I am a Hilton Honors Gold member with an older iPad whose software can only be updated to v.10.3.3. The Hilton app now requires v.11+.
Please provide a workaround so that your software is compatible with my iPad. I bet I'm not the only iPad owner in this predicament.

Love the app, but with recent update I’m constantly being logged out. Never had this issue before. I always use the digital key, where available, so very inconvenient having to log back in every time I return to my room.

7/14/19 Follow up to my original review. App has gotten better, still use it weekly for work. And I use it to redeem points. Love the digital key. Nice job Hilton!

I'm DeafBlind and use a braille display with my iPhone and RiceOver. The Marriott Bonvoy app is a champ and very accessible for me. I hope it does not take forever for Hilton to improve the app accssibility-wise. I have to call Hilton Honors to book because I can't use the app.

Embassy Suites is perfect for our granddaughters. Pool, snacks, and everything else for a 6 and 9 year olds. They have no desire to go any where outside the hotel. The breakfasts are great and we are happy to have the cooked to order option. Quite a savings for retired grandparents who love to travel. The shuttle to the airport is also a welcomed aminity.

The rates are more expensive than expected. The actual total cost does not reflect until you select to pay with added hotel charges. This should all be included on the viewed price like airlines do now. Who wants to see another $100 added to the cost at the end.

This app has worked okay for me for a while, but there are some things that are inexplicably frustrating. For instance, I almost always make a reservation for 2 adults and 2 kids, yet for some reason, the app won't remember this. Also, I frequently reserve additional nights at the same hotel and yet there is no easy way to book nights at the hotel you just booked; you have to go back to the beginning and search again.
Now, maybe Hilton has fixed this in the latest version, but I can't open it. The current version on my iPad tells me I have to upgrade, but I can't because the newest version requires iOS 11! I have an iPad that works just fine, but I am forced to spend $700 on a new one so I can use this app?! No thanks!

I love this app, it is easy to use and VERY convenient. I could check in early, select my room, and accept my digital key! The digital key thing is awesome, I never had to go to the front desk... I unloaded my luggage and went straight to my room, I love it! Keep it up Hilton, you reminded me why I choose your hotels. 🙂

As the hotel employees are very nice the room I stayed in was not. The walk in shower was large but no place to put any kind of toiletries. Just a very small soap ledge. The only place to hang a towel was beside the toilet. YUK!!!!
There was no USB ports anywhere in the room. Lastly, the room we were so lucky to get looked out to a flat roof with AC units and huge spot lights shining up the building. Even with the darkening shades pulled light streamed in. Even though I am a basic HH member, you would think the staff would take better care of the loyal customers and give them not an upgrade but a nicer located room.
FYI never change the name on your reservation if you are a HH member. They won’t give you the for your stay that you deserve!!!!

Latest update turned my Hilton app into a paper weight due to no backwards compatibility with old iOS versions. I am lost in a loop being told to "upgrade" but not having any updates available due to not being above iOS 11.
If Apple didn't cause problems with older phones updating to the newest iOS I'd have no problem. But my 4 year old phone can't hang with the new iOS so I'm SOL.
