IPad App won't start, tells me I need to upgrade first. So it directs me to the App Store, which tells me I HAVE the latest version. Yes, i've restarted several times already.

I loved using the "Digital Key" feature but now I can't because the latest release of the app requires iOS 10 and my phone doesn't support that version of the OS. App released shouldn't have to force users to upgrade their device or loose the functionality. Is Hilton in cahoots with Apple to force me to buy a new phone?

I love Hilton. I love everything about their company and hotels! I stay at them often and I’ve never had a bad experience. The American Express cards with Hilton are awesome and I love mine. The app is so easy to use and so clean and fresh. I love that everything is right there for me to view. Hilton is my number one hotel and resort choice.
Digital KEY Challenges 3/5

Last week, at the Washington Hilton, The signal on my iPhone was so weak that it was almost impossible to activate the digital key.
Today,I checked in to the Embassy suites in Atlanta Georgia, and it did not give me a choice of rooms. They flashed a message that said only one Was available, so they did not give me a choice. The problem was that the message flash about 1 1/2 seconds before disappearing. I couldn’t read the whole message in that timeframe. I finally figured out that I could go backwards and forwards and it would reflash. After about three times I was finally able to read the rest of the message. Why make a message like that disappear anyway?
Having said all of that, as I’m getting used to the digital key function, I’m starting to like it. It is definitely superior to the Marriott option which just allows you to get your key a little bit easier at the front desk. At Marriott it’s not even worth the effort to be honest. But this really works.
You can stay at the hotel, check in check out get your room and leave without ever having to go to the front desk. They automatically emailed the receipt to you, which means you don’t have to get into any line at all. I think that is really cool.

Kept telling me to update the app, sends me to App Store. Says I am running the current and has the open button, which opens the app and tells me to update takes me to the App Store. Endless loop, they should learn from Booking.com, quick and simple instead of trying to be fancy.
Making reservations works out, but the app doesn’t show all reservations for your account in upcoming stays. It just shows the next reservation.

While I like the advance check-in, choosing a room doesn’t label the ADA accessible rooms so I have no chance of getting one. even when they promise one when I book, I’m never able to get one. It wouldn’t be necessary if you installed ADA height toilets in all bathrooms.

This app is the WORST. As a long time HHonors member, I like Hilton but have gone from a 5 star rating customer of the app to only 1 star. In fact I have grown to despise the app so much that I am considering giving Marriott locations a try. I HATE the constant push to enable notifications, turning location services, and the big push to use digital key services while doing online check in. STOP BEING SO INTRUSIVE. So today after nearly three years I gave in to give the digital key a chance... AND IT DOES NOT WORK. The end result? My star rating dropped from 2 stars to a lonely 1 star. There are so many other issues with this app that o neither have the energy to share them or desire to help Hilton fix glaring problems. Maybe I should just use Airbnb during my business travel?

When I open the app to select a room, it looks nothing like advertised. Each floor plan only shows a schematic of the room layout on each floor, but no details of each room.
Hampton Inn Darien Ga I-95 1/5

We stayed here May 10th and I must say it was the biggest disappointment of any Hampton Inn we have ever stayed it. The hotel is at the end of a renovation. It was the sloppiest renovation I ever seen. They even painted the fiberglass shower and the paint was pealing. In the hallway there was white adhesive on the new ugly carpeting, no baseboard moldings, the doors were old, the furniture in the room was sloppily reupholstered. No glasses in the bathroom, the corner of the frame on the bathroom had a wide gap. Everywhere you looked they made a “mess.”
The workmanship was entirely ship-shod. It certainly was not what we would expect of a typical Hampton Inn. It is a good example of “no quality control.”

This app is awful! It glitches defaulting to today’s date! I’ve just used up more than half my points for a hotel this evening when I wanted next weekend. The 800# customer service was completely useful and pretty condescending. I had to call the hotel directly. They were very nice but only a manager can credit back my points. Gotta call again tomorrow. Sticking to Hyatt from now on.

I made a reservation through this app. I tried to cancel the reservation THE MORNING I WAS ABOUT TO CHECK IN and was told I cannot cancel. Looking back at the app, it says you have to cancel two days prior to check in if you use the app, EVEN THOUGH THE APP ALLOWED ME TO MAKE A RESERVATION ONE DAY BEFORE CHECKING IN! Come on Hilton. I’m taking my business elsewhere.

App is solid and greatly enhances the customer experience. Ridiculous, thought, that it does not offer its most loyal customers, HH members, the best rates.
It was higher by $50 sometimes.
Not good in this hyper competitive world with low switching costs.
In general, you don’t get much for being a Diamond or Gold member; at least not compared to other loyalty programs.
Good app but hard to change reservations 4/5
I’ve been using the app some years already. Overall it’s very convenient and easy to book Hilton hotels. However, it’s extremely hard or almost impossible to change your reservations. I missed my flight a few days ago to Amsterdam and I had to make phone calls DIRECTLY to the hotels I had reservations. It’s a huge hassle to make the change.

Two specific suggestions 4/5
1) Since it appears Hilton has officially moved away from providing check out folios under the door, early in morning at the end of the room reservation and checkout is done at some later point, something needs to be done to replace having that folio available ASAP. Maybe the app needs a feature to request checkout, maybe the Hilton systems need updating so bills are available sooner. Whatever the solution, something needs to be done to make bills available faster. Here it is 3 hours after I left a room and I still can’t do my expensing because I don’t have a final bill.
2) I wish the hotel room selection tool was a bit more representative of different features like pools or roads or other things that may impact sleep and rest.
