I have been waiting on call back from the hum tech for 3 weeks now still no call back I have been with Verizon for 5 years and never have I had this much bad stuff go on with a device that I am paying for a service I can’t even use. Please be aware of the hum service.

I wish it can do more, such as looking at codes and once you fix them, remove the service light.
Was told by the salesman it was free when I bought my new iPhone at Verizon.
Asked specifically about taxes on it or fees later on and he said there were none.
Now I have a service and equipment fee I can’t get rid of in my contract.
The device never worked for me even after customer service said they “manually turned it on for me.”
It’s a scam and waste of money. Waze and a $20 tool at Walmart do everything this does but better.

I like Hum but I think is able to be more useful, like as live GPS, more informations about the car and things around wherever I’m driving, and much more...
Anyway so far is good.
I am now on my 4th Hum device and it worked for ONE day. I have talked with Hum C.S. as well as Verizon in the past. I am making one last call and having this removed from my account.

The app and electronics are impressive BUT for the last month I cannot get data. I have had two Hum units and updated the software three times. Plan on a 15-30’ wait to get an agent AND 15’++ when it is transferred to technical support. VERY DISCOURAGING.

I do not have to text or call my spouse to know where he is , hum let’s me know when he has left the office and helps me plan better... I did not know until recently it has amazing discount feature, saved me $20 on my purchase at Gymboree!! And for long drives gives us peace of mind , Incase we need any assistance, hum will be there for us...

The buttons should be moved where you don’t bump them as easily and call support. I’ve called the police on accident once after shutting my door and called customer service many times. They need to make the buttons more purposeful and less easily bumped, but on the bright side, customer service is quick to respond and send assistance if needed. The location services are on point and the new added feature for your gas amount and mileage is awesome. The diagnostics have saved me meant times, signally parts that need worked on. Overall I love the HUM and will continue to add them to all vehicles we own.

Hum has been helpful about 75% of the time, but it should be 100%. Unfortunately, there have be many times when location information has not been available. I’m hoping that these issues can be resolved in the future, but until there’s a better app, I’ll stick with Hum.
Works great, live updates on vehicle, trouble codes,where it’s at,where it’s been,trip information, fuel consumption, plus you can set alerts for boundaries and speed and with app all this is available live through your phone
I like the hum, but why does it constantly beep while I’m driving. And the app isn’t updating.
The hum phone feature calls random people from my contact list when I attempt to make a call and sometimes makes calls without any input from me. The Verizon store near me had no one who knew how to solve the problem. The idea is good but I will get rid of it when my contract ends.

Bought 2. One will not engage WiFi. Second one does not work properly-location feature is not working. Tech support with HUM cannot find a fix. It’s been a week...I travel a lot...I needed a system like this to work seamlessly...and intuitively. This system falls short on both requirements. One should reconsider before buying into this. @HUM Twitter is lit up with lots of system complaints of people locked into the HUM Program. HUM acknowledged a major portal interface problem happening with units not able to connect to the WiFi networks-with no ETA in site. #RunFromHum

It keeps track of so many different things it’s amazing. My husband has health problems, but loves to go out for drives and has been known to get lost. With hum I always know where he is. Love it.
I have had the HUM app for over two years. Yesterday I needed roadside assistance - and couldn’t get connected at all. 4 calls to them, through the app and then just calling on the dial pad. Today, same thing.
I called Verizon and after several attempts I finally got someone. Turns out that calls are now routed the the PHILLIPINES. I am currently trying to call as I write this and as of this moment I’ve been on hold for...6 minutes and counting.
After 7 minutes, I just got connected to an agent in the PHILLIPINES.
Today, I would discourage anyone from getting the HUM. I’m in a contract and if I weren’t I’d walk away, and fast.
Until this issue is addressed - and it couldn’t be addressed with the agent I finally reached, I would say Do Not Get The HUM.

My device worked perfectly for about two weeks. Not it’s pretty much useless. WiFi will not turn on and it takes days for the vehicle information to update. I’ve talked to tech support several times resulting in no fix.
If I could get out of my contract right now I would. It’s an adequate device but it doesn’t really keep track on a regular basis of the things it supposed to. It also doesn’t do the greatest job of tracking where my vehicles are. I have one vehicle that the app shows at a certain location for a month and a half now and the device hasn’t caught up to where it actually is even though it’s continuing to track occasional trips from time to time.
I believe the problem is with the app not the device but I don’t know for sure. For a while one of my devices was beeping every 3 to 4 minutes and when I called tech-support they not only couldn’t tell me why it was doing if they could tell me how to stop it and they ended up finally replacing the device.

I have 2 hum devices. I have had to call 3-4 times within a month because it has features locked, which should not be because I pay for it through my cell carrier. I have gotten hung up on several times after having to explain several times the issue I am having and no one ever bothers to call back not including waiting on hold from 20min to an hour. Which is completely ridiculous. Going to take a trip to Verizon tomorrow. They can have this shot back.
Biggest Scam Ever 1/5
I got this for Christmas. It took me two days to finally register the device. It kept telling me it’s already activated. I can’t have my own account because they want the subscription from the person who bought it so I have to use their username and password. Once I hooked this device, it worked once and then stopped working. I found out you pay a lot of money for the device then you pay per month. You have only two weeks to return it. If you cancel membership, you end up with this expensive piece of plastic. This device hasn’t been working. Biggest scam by Verizon ever existed. Shame on you. Consumer beware. DON’T BUY!!!!!

I found my wife sneaking off to the mall to do “returns”. I called her and she said was somewhere else. Oh, really. To her surprise with 7 bags of “returns” in hand, I was standing in front of her car in the mall parking lot. I said, “I thought returns were taken into the mall and not coming out of the mall”.
This is amazing technology is going to help me break my wife’s addiction to shopping! Hopefully, we will NOT have $25,000 credit card debt that she is paying 21% interest every month!!!

800 number response time 10+ mins each time called
Unprofessional reps answering calls.
Picked up a Hum device at a Verizon store on 12/27/18 and spent nearly 2 hours on calls to Hum trying to get the unit to show the location of vehicle. It never did. My issue was turned over to a “tech team” to resolve. In the meantime I returned faulty unit to Verizon store and it was replaced with a new one. The new unit did locate the vehicle and I could see location in the App. Today, 12/29/18 I checked the app again as I knew the car was being driven. When I called up the app, the vehicle location showed it at the home address. Car was not at home. Another quality unit from Hum.
Now for the second major annoyance with Hum. When I call their 800 number, which is also the number you use in emergencies, I’m always waiting a minimum of 10 MINUTES before a rep answers. You’ll be lucky if the rep that answers isn’t working from home because if it’s a home rep there will be tremendous background laughter, talking, and babies crying.
The reps can only follow a script so you always wind up doing the same thing to work through their process that always results in a transfer to the tech team.
In the most recent problem the rep instructed me to remove the OBD device from the car but he was reminded that the car wasn’t at home. He then suggested I call the driver and have them remove it. Not an unreasonable request except the driver barely knows how to put fuel in a vehicle let alone get under the dash and attempt to remove a device that is difficult for me to remove.
I will give the device a few more days then it will be returned for a full refund and waiver of the $50 Verizon restocking fee.

This app does not accurately identify the location of vehicles. It always says vehicles are parked at the home address, when in fact when they are not at home.

Our HUM alerted us to a possible issue with our truck battery. After checking it out, it was discovered the dome light was triggered when a door wasn’t properly closed. It was daytime, so it wasn’t noticed. When the HUM alerted us, we discovered it. Thanks HUM!!!

I bought this to use on my sons car because he has a fairly new driver and has gone away to college. Half the time when I know he is on the road it won’t update his location. Also I set up some boundary alerts to know when he was getting close to home or close to a friends house etc. and they sell them work. It does a good job of alerting me to mechanical issues but for location or boundary alerts forget it.

Latest update burns up battery usage when using driving performance. When Location and motion settings is turned on battery usage exceeds all other apps. I would be constantly charging my phone if I used this feature
Update: lost functionality
Latest update removed fuel/gas level, does not show nearest gas prices and when trying to look up other issues for vehicle, briefly flashes error code display and then goes back to error code listing. Piece of crap now. Use to be some what workable but can no longer trust what it reports.

Does Not Play Well with iPhones 2/5
The app doesn’t refresh itself and there’s no option to do it manually. The humX will not stay connected to my phone. Bluetooth is on, I’m in the car right under it, and it says “You’re not in range.” 🤷🏾♀️ Wth? Not impressed, so far.

Maybe I am missing something but I would like to be able to see the travel history of my vehicle. I know there are apps on phones to track a phone (teenager) but nothing to track the actual cars travel history.

For the first three months of my Hum it was working great then it stopped working. It hasn’t worked for 20 days. I call customer support they keep telling me they’ll call me back in two days and they never do. I asked to have one swapped out and they won’t basically I’ve been going three weeks without it working without any resolution. I got the hum replaced and it worked for one trip and hasn’t worked for 10 days. Very disappointing. I’m guessing after reading other reviews this is a system problem. News Flash to Hum. If you don’t get this fixed you won’t be around long
