Hy-Vee’s attempt to bring the box store to online has been a disaster. Every decision made makes the experience even worse. Nothing loads, no way to modify order, searching for products is difficult, scan big barcodes rarely works, there’s what seems like 100 screens to complete the checkout process, now the app times out after about 5 mins.

After picking up my groceries- I noticed my total was about $60 higher then what it should have been- I added up the items and the app did not total them right- make sure you add up your items and don’t trust it to total them for you.
HATE that when I read and clear a notification, the alert still stays!!! SO ANNOYING!!!!!
Why No iPad Version? 3/5
I literally cannot remember the last time I encountered an app that wasn’t universal nor had a separate iPad version. The iPad has been around for a decade and is hardly a novelty. My understanding is that Apple makes writing universal apps pretty easy. Be where your customers are Hy-Vee.
Mediocre at best 2/5
Maybe this is just the app for grocery pick up, but I feel as though their other app is easier to use. I’m not getting my groceries delivered. The other is easier to navigate and shows more deals than this one. (Isn’t that weird?) I’ll continue to use the other app and delete this one.

Lots of screen to go through, doesn’t have go back capabilities on some screens, have to start over. Takes waaaaay too long to order something.
Doesn’t even summarize your order before you push Order.
Sends you an email and doesn’t even tell you what you ordered.

I’ve been trying for 15 minutes to understand why I have a badge of two on this app as if I have two unread something or other. No messages or alerts are present. How do I get rid of the badge. Signing out then in and deleting and reinstalling—badge is still there.
Notifications Won’t Turn Off 3/5
I constantly have 2 notifications that won’t go away. No matter what I do I can’t get rid of them.

Super tired of my fuel saver being unlinked 2/5
I have been using this app several times a week for several months now. For some reason it makes me log back into my account multiple times during my shopping session. I am searching and shopping the store
and when I go to add item to cart I have to log in all my information again. Super annoying! Also keeps dumping my fuel saver account and it’s not quick and easy to re enter, I have to log into the program and link it back up. I’m a busy working mother of three littles and these waste of my time inconveniences irritate me profusely!
One thing could improve the app 4/5
The thing that would make this app perfect would be the ability to edit your order after it’s been placed. Maybe up to 12-24 hours before the order is due to be picked up or delivered. If that could happen it would be perfect!
Tweak Needed 4/5
Hy-Vee, you are working very, very hard in these critical times to take care of your customers, and I for one appreciate it. There’s one thing you must do to keep us happy, and that is allow us to edit our order after it’s placed. The way it is now is just too rigid. Inevitably, I think of something else I need within five minutes of submitting my order. Also, if it’s a couple days until I’m picking up my order, a lot can happen in that time. What if I find out I’m having company in those couple days? What if I order something and then realize that I already have two of those items on hand? In this minute-by-minute world we live in, we need more flexibility. You did say, Whatever It Takes! 🙂

Very good but needs a couple tweaks 4/5
1. Need a preview of available pick-up time slots or delivery time slots before placing the order. My order may change if I find out I can’t pick-up for a couple of days.
2. I love the pick-up option, but wish there was a way to add a tip for the workers at the store who pick the groceries or load them into the car. I am trying to go cashless and contactless for everything.
Otherwise the app seems stable and has been meeting my needs. Thanks!
Updated the app and now it just crashes every time I try to open it. Too bad, I really liked it before.
Does not work well with iPad 2/5
The app works fine on phones but with an iPad, the app screen size is limited to the screen size of a phone. Additionally only displays in one orientation instead of adjusting to the orientation of the device (oriented in vertical only on iPad).

Have placed orders with this several times during the pandemic. First of all, while letting HyVee substitute items I have been shorted items on about every order. I contacted the store about adjusting my bill with no resolution. We are all buying items because we need them, only to be shorted or told they are out of stock at the time of pickup. I’m probably going to look elsewhere for the majority of my grocery needs in the time being. I understand the stores are under immense pressure, but come on
I decided with the pandemic going on to start ordering my food on this app, however, every time I try and pay it tells me “error has occurred”. Wouldn’t be so bad but that’s it; doesn’t tell me if the system is down, if I created the error, nothing. Entered my info in at least 10 times to see if something would change but nothing. With my first time using this app and the error occurring makes me extremely disappointed.

It works... but wow it could use a lot of improvement. Needs favorites option, better search & filter. Would like substitutions option by item, not total order. Pretty much I want the Walmart grocery app for HyVee.

The “change store” button is a game changer. It still feels slightly more clunky than the regular HyVee app (slower load time, login doesn’t remember you on your own phone), but it’s visually appealing and I like the ease of using the coupons right from the front page without swiping through multiple screens. I’m going to try using this regularly for a month and see if I can get used to the change. Good job, HyVee!
Good app, but could be better 4/5
I downloaded the app today, and placed an order. Because I’ve shopped Hy Vee Aisles online, the app had the right store. It was easy enough to shop, and find what I wanted.
I like the way it lets you decide if there will be substitutions, and what item to substitute with. That is outstanding.
Here is where it could be better. Walmart lets you add to your order until 1:45 am of the day of your order pickup. In other words, it lets you add to an existing order. This means I can add items I forgot, or found and want, and Hy Vee gets more money.
I could find no way to do that either with the app or the website. It is a win-win if the shopper can add to an existing order, and Hy Vee gets a more money.

The big thing it’s lacking is the actual aisle/location of the items you want to buy... if I’m looking for an item I don’t normally buy, this app is 0 help.

Contacted by email was told all I have to do is add 1 item to cart to see slots for pick up times. No, wrong, wanted me to fill my cart and check out first. FIX YOUR APP!

I seriously love using this app. It’s really easy to use. I think Hyvee did a really great job. I love how it shows my purchased item history. Really great during these times. Stay safe everyone!
App is not real user friendly. Gives a pickup window with no date but also shows previous pickup with no date. Not clear when you add items to current orders. Just a few tweaks and would be good.

Once this was a great app/service. But now in our area it is terrible. I know other areas with Hy-Vee work OK but in MN it’s not worth it. You will need 5-7 days notice for your grocery order. Then it gets further delayed on day to pickup. Then you have to hope everything (or most) of your items get filled. Much better luck with competitor grocery apps. Too bad...may just switch for good.

Every time I try to create an account it says “the password you entered is incorrect” like I’m trying to login or something when I’m not. The password I chose meets every criteria for to create an account so I have no idea why it won’t let me create an account.
Horrible, glitchy, limited app 1/5
Very difficult to navigate app. Can’t add items after finalizing payment or delete items easily. Also, can’t see if an item is out of stock ahead of time to avoid wasting a delivery fee on a few items on your list. I received about one third of what I ordered and wasn’t able to make the meal for my family as planned. Walmart is much, much better.

Don’t waste your time. App NEVER works. Tried to create an account, had to do that on the website. Once the account was created, I tried to connect with the app...couldn’t log on. Tried roughly 10 times before I gave up.
The “lists” - also a waste of time. They don’t link to actual items in the store.
Whoever approved this app should be ashamed of themselves.

App works great for the most part, but I wish we could edit our grocery orders after placing them (up until the point that HyVee starts shopping it). I am becoming a grocery hoarder because I have to guess what we will need a week in the future and I know I am ordering more than we need.

Needs Improvements 2/5
Great idea, but not the easiest app to use. No rhyme or reason to finding a specific item...not even in alphabetical order or grouped (I.e. pretzels ). Just have to keep scrolling until maybe you find it. Needs scan capability so we can scan and add. One plus is “order history”. Hopefully this app will evolve.

The app is small and sideways on my IPad 2/5
It looks like my iPhone is sitting sideways on my iPad screen. It won’t be possible to work very long in this format to create a grocery order unless I figure out a way to rotate and enlarge it. Will have to stick to my laptop.

I downloaded the app and I must say it is one of the better grocery store apps I have used. My favorite feature is being able to make a list and shop from my list. I also like that I can search for variations of an item on the list. I only gave 4 starts because two things I tried to do and could not figure out to do ... my assumption is that the features are not available. First... I want to be able to add a credit card to my profile without having to place a separate order. Secondly.. if I forget something on my list I want to be able to add to my order (perhaps adding a cut-off time) without having to call the store to ask them to add to it. Whit future updates on the app these features should be added! Otherwise great app.

Seriously you log me out after 5 minutes. The remember me feature does not work. My personal information is not stored...why so serious?? My bank and credit card are easier to use
The App is ok but lacking in some aspects. I prefer to you the website instead of the app because the app won’t populate items that I’ve previously purchased. The website does this and it makes the ordering process much quicker.

I think it’s great that you have an App. I liked the old version; this one has neat perks (bar code scanner). But for an app with “aisles” in the name it is ironic that it does not indicate what aisles the food is in. Old app did that
