You seriously need to update this app. It starts with these annoying podcast commercials and it never holds my place in the podcast I actually want to listen to.
If this doesn’t change soon, I’ll be deleting this.

Signed in and then started getting charged for subscription. Nothing on the app indicates a fee? Now trying to cancel and it obviously not as easy as them charging me. Ridiculous.

I want to echo the frustrations and complaints of other users who have found themselves suddenly subscribed at six dollars per month to the iHeartRadio app. Twice now while simply opening the app and closing the pop-up advertisement I have found myself subscribed which I never intended to do. While I appreciate the app and have used it frequently, this seems like a deliberate scheme to get inadvertent subscribers. For that I’m rating it one star.

As with other users, three times I have accidentally subscribed for services. It is an app issue. When you go to close the pop-up window if you are even off the X mark a smidge, voila, you have now subscribed. Three times and its not just me. Read the other comments. This is a COMMON problem.

Tricky app - bye bye 1/5
So when I open this app and close out of the initial advertisement, it prompts for my fingerprint ID seemingly to prove it's me. But, when you initially do that what that is actually doing is charging you for the upgraded service. And this will renew automatically if you don’t catch it. I believe this is a tricky way to get subscribers and I’m deleting the app and all of its data. I will never download again.

I cannot get Apple or iHeartRadio to stop auto subscribing me to the premium app AND the premium app has commercials. I only listen to one morning radio show and it’s not worth $6 a month.

They try to make you upgrade by opening the purchase screen when you first open the app. You are not expecting the app to try and scam you, so you may have your finger on your home screen. This ensures you purchase it, and now have to try and get a refund. I will be telling everyone I know about this scam of an app.

I loved this game on my old iPad but I guess there was a new update and now you have to sign in and use your google account. I kept trying to make a google account and it kept saying that it was not right. So I can’t use it. On my other iPad it would let me look up stations but on my new iPad Nope. Unless there is a button that is like hidden and I can’t see then sorry. Thanks so much. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Can't stand the pop up that leads to fee paid sign up. I cancelled within 10 seconds and it still charged me. I'm done with this app so I don't get signed up again for something I never intended. Found my podcasts and radio using something else that doesn't pop up fee based sign-ups. Deleting I-Heart as soon as I submit this review. Bye I-Heart Radio!

i launched the app, a quick popup for subscription came up, i clicked away from it and went to click the home button to do something else on my phone, APP decided to subscribe me to their service! what a bunch of crock! to unsubscribe, i had to search online and cancel from the settings within my phone cuz YOU CANT UNSUBSCRIBE FROM WITHIN THE APP!! terrible terrible terrible!!

Never knew that I have subscribed for a paid version. There is no notification from I heart radio that subscription will be charged. It will be better subscribers are always notified of the charges rather than just billing the cc.

App has intermittent low and normal sound quality 1/5
The sound quality fluctuates sometimes it plays low bitrate sound quality and it goes back to normal bitrate quality. The sound skips sort of like buffering.
Paying or not - ads won’t quit 1/5
Twice deleted the app because of persistent repetitive ads that would not go away. You had to listen to the ad several times. It would net let you go back to the station broadcast. One on upgraded paying scrip and now again here on the std free app. THEY.need to Get to get this fixed.
Slimy way to do business 1/5

Driving down the road I click on iheart radio. Click my station and it asks for my finger print. I’m driving and just trying to play some music. Get home and see where they signed me up for a $6 a month subscription. I cancelled as soon as I saw the charge but they got me. It’s just a slimy way to do business. I’ll be deleting the app after having it for years.

Good programming but beware 2/5
I would rate this a 5 but there are constant pop-up “offers” to upgrade to a monthly fee service, and oftentimes it seems like you don’t even have to touch anything on your device and *boom*- you’re upgraded to a monthly service. This is on ios and I’m a longtime user.
Make sure you change your settings to require a password for in-app purchases, or you will likely get duped into a monthly fee service without wanting it.

The iheartradio app has no way to cancel! I’ve contacted Apple support and they say it on iheart. If you follow the instructions to CANCEL you don’t have a CANCEL option.
It appears once loaded it waits to catch you and you get charged.
I highly suggest you remove iheartraido app or you will get billed trying to cancel it!
To bad they have to do business like this!
Radio is still king 3/5
I love radio and I mean real radio. IHeartRadio definitely fills my plate with what I love. I traveled for work and found great stations and shows that I continue listening to. It’s great to tune into a station from home when I’m hundreds of miles away and listening to what’s going on in my local area. They also have great streaming stations and the “Mixtape” is awesome. I didn’t give it five stars because after years with stock radios my wife got me a JVC stereo for my truck which had this awesome iHeartRadio feature. After multiple tries of connecting I went to the iHeartRadio support and the feature is no longer supported by iHeartRadio. I know I can just listen to it through usb or Bluetooth but I was looking forward to this feature on my new radio.

I inadvertently authorized payment on a trial subscription for i heart radio plus. That darn iPhone “touch pad”. So, what the heck, I’ll give it a try... Apple says I can cancel within 30 days, right? Yep, I forgot about it. It’s not that great of an upgrade. The app is decent. The upgrade is not. Redundant playlists, over and over. Same songs. Without the upgrade, you do have to deal with silly commercials about every 5th song? But, that’s not that big a deal. All of he apps do it. Well, lesson learned. Next time I cancel right away. My bad.

I am so grateful that this app allows me to stream radio stations out of my area. However, during commercials the same two songs have been playing over and over agin for the last several weeks. Even if the songs were good (which they aren’t), this would be annoying. I close the app instead of continuing to listen at this point. Is it possible to play a variety of songs?

I think this app is fantastic! I use it everyday on my Apple TV all day. I really feel in my own opinion that this is the best “radio” streaming app out there, period! No need to worry about other peoples playlists, creating your own playlists, all you’ve got to do is pick a station and enjoy listening.

So I have plus, I have since it became a thing. But I’ve noticed more and more ads creep in. So I think the idea is now I have to upgrade again for more money to have no ads. Honestly I’ve found another podcast app that is like $8 one time, and there’s no commercials and it never costs a dime after the initial purchase. I think I’m going to go with that instead of listening to ads constantly (it’s called Pocket Casts) Even after you play a podcast on iHeartRadio and listen to the ad, if you pause it for 2 seconds, bam, another ad. Kinda done w any paid version of IHeartRadio.

Bring back volume control on the app interface 3/5
I love this app, but it used to have volume control on the screen which I used so often. Then after one of the updates, the volume control was removed from the interface, so you have to adjust the volume using the controls on your device. Please bring back volume control in the app.
Same song over and over 2/5
I use this app to listen to Johnjay and Rich, but the commercials last 10 minutes and the songs I hear are not what is shown to be playing on the station and they always play the same song, “Mine” and I want to hear what is playing on the radio station. It’s annoying and I may just switch to their podcasts to get away from the extensive commercials and repeats.
The app randomly doesn’t work on my iPhone. I keep clicking on my radio station and it just doesn’t play. I have been told in the past to reach out to user support but the user support page also did not work on my iPhone. I got to the screen to enter my email address and could not enter it anywhere no matter where I clicked.

I have been using iHeartRadio for years and have never had this issue until as of late. I cannot use the iHeartRadio if I am not on my home Wi-Fi. When I am out in my car away from the Wi-Fi it says that there is no Internet connection which I don’t understand because I have my cell phones Internet connection.
I wanted to try it but when I didn’t want it any more impossible to get them to remove my subscription. Epic fail. Please remove me from your monthly billing.

3 times now I have accidentally upgraded this app for $5.99 and I’ve canceled immediately every time. This last time I caught the message and hit cancel and was still upgraded! I have submitted claims for the previous errors and still have yet to see a refund. The pop up asking to upgraded comes on and before you know it you’re upgraded for $5.99! I did not want any of the upgrades and will probably be deleting the app now because if this.

This WAS one of my favorite apps. Until today. I loved that I could listen on my phone or my iPad and I used it every day. Today I discovered that if you listen long enough for your screen to go dark the app cuts out. First I assumed that I had done something to accidentally turn off the app, but after five attempts- the last one with my device in my hands- I found the real problem. I hope you roll back this feature so I can love this app again.
