Changed from 5 to 1 star. App now messes up constantly. Repeatedly asks me to log in and several times I can’t even see my points because it’s caught in a limbo between log in and current stay. Please fix the app!!

I did use the app for an hotel once and it was ok. But it doesn’t stop putting notification since them for nothing.

IHG has wonderful hotels, but the IHG app is not user friendly or functional in getting you to those hotels. Other hotel apps - Marriott, Hyatt - get it right. IHG needs to take a look at their competitor’s apps. Features such as what type of rooms each hotel offers and accurate descriptions of the rooms and other hotel features need to be added. Also, IHG needs to correct whatever bugs are making the app unusable. I have to use the Internet to make my reservations. What’s the point of the app then? Please fix.

Has anyone at IHG tried their competitors apps. This app is joke in comparison to them. As someone who travels almost 200 nights a year. I look for simplicity and great execution in my user experience. This app in no way fulfills that need and is one of the main reasons I refuse to stay at IHG. I can’t even logon to my account because it is locked in some kind of FaceId death spiral. Thanks IHG for reminding what horrible app can be.

Ridiculous glitchy app when it comes to logins 2/5
Even though I have this on my phone, and don’t change a single thing, this app makes me login about 50% of the time that I decide to check it—Not because that is standard with the app, but because it’s so ridiculously glitchy that I can’t just open it up to see my point balance or upcoming reservation without having to login again and again. The constant error messages that I get, while using an iPhone XR, running the latest version of the IHG® updated app, are so antiquated and aggravating. When I contacted IHG® about this, they couldn’t even answer a simple question and told me I needed to send them some secure email or something as if I was talking about protected information rather than their glitchy app. I am a Platinum Elite member, and currently have three or four upcoming reservations at IHG hotels. But these days I prefer to do things on my computer because the app is so 20th century. I’m also a Hilton Gold member, and have my settings in a way that I never have to re-login because the app is messing up, and I only have to login when there’s something secure that I need to do. And as much as I hate Marriott and it’s fake elite status, its app even works better than this.

I would like to see all IHG hotels on a designate route I have chosen.
At the present I go to google find cities on the route then go back to the IHG app to find the hotels😡. Would be nice just mark a are on the map an all IHG hotels show up for that area.

I’m on an iPhone 6 and it simply doesn’t work for me. I asked it to search hotels at my current location and the time counter just spun and spun. Same thing happened when I tried to look up offers. WiFi and cellular connections are good, so that is not the problem.

I’ve tried for weeks to use the app to book hotel rooms. Pages won’t load. I literally cannot get past the sign in page.
App hasn’t worked for me in months 1/5
I’ve made sure my phone and apps are all up to date, but the IHG app hasn’t worked since sometime last year. It opens fine, but once I click “find a hotel” or anything from the drop down menu, I get nothing. I can’t even click my name on the main menu even though I see a highlighted number showing I have messages and offers available. What is the issue???

For the latest version today and found out that the best available rate did not include the Corp rate I typically use. You have to manually select it. Seems a new bug introduced.

They bribe you to download the app with a free kindle book. But then you can’t login to get the book bs they have the worst login experience I’ve ever seen. You better be able to remember 9 digits over and over. Bc your member number erases if you toggle to another screen to get the remainder of your numbers. Then the PIN function doesn’t work. And each try requires you to re-enter your member #. Horrible. And of course, the contact us link doesn’t work either. Maybe the app is ok, but I’ll never know...

I’ve used the app for making multiple reservations with success. Would really be helpful if the iPad version rotated between landscape and portrait. Seriously, why doesn’t the iPad version rotate?

1) Every once in a while FaceID sign in fails to work because the app is junk.
2) Then you have to sign in manually, but the app cannot retrieve your pin. It has a button for that but it doesn’t work, of course.
I can only see one reservation 2/5
The app needs to be updated to be able to see all reservations. It only lets me see the one coming up and none other. I need to go to the website to see other reservations.

You can spend a couple thousand dollars and reach “elite status”, but you’re points don’t really go that far. I have spent around $3,500 this year alone on IHG hotel rooms and the points I have earned aren’t even enough to get me one measly free night stay. If you want a bunch of bogus vacation offers with aggressive sales tactics then this is the rewards program for you.

I checked in, informed the desk that the rate was incorrect; manager had three days to correct and now I’m checking out with incorrect receipt; and to top it off, hotel slipped someone else’s receipt under my door with an even better rate that they paid; so now I know that there was a better rate.

I hate obnoxious pop ups that can’t be dismissed. “Do you love the IHG App?”. Yes/No only choices. How about “Dismiss” choice. I was okay with app until this pop up! I didn’t “love” it but also didn’t feel strongly enough to go and write a review. There, you wanted me to rate the app? Done.

Does everything I want and very stable but can be a bit confusing when trying to find out info on your booking or you offers ( always tells me I don’t have any offers and then 10 seconds later they appear). Also keeps asks if I want to have English as my default every time I use it. Come on guys that’s what cookies are for. Overall I love the app but as in any relationship there are always a few annoying things that drive you mad. That’s life hey!! 🤣

This app is completely unreliable and buggy to the extreme. Today when I tried to use it for on my phone it would not let me search. Then when I tried to use the ihg web site it would let me search but not log in to make a reservation. I have been (trying) to use this app for many years but I have had no end of troubles with it. I like IHG hotels but this app is just terrible.

This is the worst app for hotels. It auto signs you out then cannot use your pin to sign back in. Have the finger auto print to sign in and that does not work. Click retrieve pin and and just repopulates to the sign in screen. Absolutely the worst hotel app!

Every time I attempt to use this app to search for a hotel, it locks up and closes. Absolutely no point in using this app. Will only cause unnecessary frustration.
Annoying Promotional Notifications Break App Store Rules 2/5
The app is mostly fine. It does what it needs to do in the same way similar hotel apps do.
My issue with the app is the spammy notifications. Who wants a buzz on their watch that says “Save 20% on during our global sale when you book through July 31”?
According to Apple App Store guidelines:
“Push notifications should not be used to advertising, promotions, or direct marketing purposes.”
I’ve disabled all notifications for the IHG app and will no longer worry about it. Still, that’s an annoying app “feature”.

They list that you get free breakfast. That’s if you are the first 20.... 2 out of 3 mornings they ran out of milk. All 3 mornings they had no orange juice. They say you get free coffee in your room.... wait that’s only the first morning..
They offered me free points, why would I want free points to a place with bad services.
