Terrible app 1/5
This app is terrible!
You can't change the font, choose a different background, or rotate the screen.
Even more important, you can't tell if a book you are interested in is finished or not. You also can't tell when it was last updated, if it is an ongoing story.
It’s ok 3/5
By That One Girl Comenting
The books are amazing! Although, notifications don’t come to your phone you have to visit it constantly and refresh to see updates.
Missing analytics 3/5
Can’t view the analytics for my books on the app, have to go to the desktop site to do so.
Love it! 5/5
Love this app! Definitely would recommend, and give a five star rating!
Write from app? 5/5
Good app but you have to be on the website to write on it and I don’t have a computer :/
More options 3/5
Great site. Only problem I hate how I have no choice on how I want to read my book. I have to scroll down. I hate that. I want to flip pages. Like I’m reading a book. Not reading a news article.
Amazing Reading App 5/5
Inkitt is the best reading app that I’ve used, it’s free, easy to use, and something I would recommend to anyone who loves to read great books.
Becoming a favorite 4/5
The only real complaint I have really is not having the ability to edit/write stories in the app itself on a phone or ipad. Many authors can’t always be on their computers, always on the go, or just prefer writing on their phone.
THEY TOOK AWAY THE EROTIC BROWSER 4/5
I don’t know if some Romance novels have Erotic scenes , and the Erotic Section helped me a lot with find it and now it’s not there any more , like it’s an amazing app but why isn’t there an Erotic section anymore that section is very helpful 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Great app 5/5
Perfect for reading
Good, but work is needed. 4/5
Now, Inkitt is an amazing app. I love reading the stories people put on it, and even sometimes writing my own stories on computer. But, I hate how I can’t write them on my phone. It would be easier for me, and most likely other authors. Thank you for reading, have a nice day!
I'm not necessarily impressed with this app, but also not necessarily disappointed. There are some really good books I've read.
However, for some reason the notifications don't work.
Also, no matter how many times I say no, werewolf stories come up. I don't want to read them, but they keep coming up.
Also, they need more book options, and you have to have a computer in order to write a book.
Pretty Neat 5/5
Kinda like Wattpad but stories are downloadable so that’s a plus, but you can “like” each individual chapter, just the whole story.
By Coconut Elf
Sometimes I have some trouble finding the perfect book for me, so I was just wondering if tags could be added. It would make searching for books a lot easier in my opinion. Thanks for taking the time to actually look through the reviews as I don’t see many other apps doing the same.
App needs improvement 3/5
As a writer, I want tools to aid in my efforts. Inkitt is one such tool, and I love the site, and having the added exposure for my work. However, the app leaves a bit to be desired, from the web site. I understand the mobile environment is a bit more restrictive, but not letting me see the analytics of my stories is disappointing. Overall, I love Inkitt. The app, not so much.
Very good 4/5
Am blind so voice over is a bit tricky especially when it skips paragraphs above 15 pages in chapter, otherwise great app!!
Really like the app but... 4/5
So I really enjoy this app and the variety of stories on it, but the one thing that I can’t figure out is how to read the full summary of the stories. This could just be me being bad with technology but for most summaries it does not show the full text and when I click on it, it opens directly into the story and I cannot figure out how to get back to the summary. Other than that I love it!
Author Search 3/5
I was reading a book on a different platforms former but was only able to finish on here. Not a problem but annoying when you can't search authors
Love it!!! 5/5
I love the books and the way the app is designed.
Amazing app, but... 4/5
By Alexa Hooms
This app is so great, I can spend a lot of quality time reading amazing works here. I love everything. The app could be greater if you didn't have to use a computer to upload your own work if it were possible to write from my iPhone device and upload it when I finish would be great.
Love it! 5/5
Great for finding good reads and a good platform for new writers :)
Inkitt app 5/5
I love this resource for great reading ! I recommend this app to all my friends and family. Everyone should use this app , who love to read !
HAS AMAZING POTENTIAL BUT... 4/5
There are a few things I would like to voice. When I @ my readers who are commenting on my book, It would be easier if the suggestions for @ names would pop up, like wattpad so to speak. Also commenting on sections (paragraphs) individually would be helpful as well, feedback and general interaction means a lot to me. It helps me improve my writing skills and connect with the community. Lastly EDITING. I can’t edit my book when using the mobile version which is CRUCIAL. The access from the app is easier compared to going online and re-logging in when I already have the app version on my phone. Thank you. I love inkitt because you don’t limit us, but I also need reassurance that these errors can be fixed.
Needs to be made more user friendly 4/5
By Big Sky1021
Wish I could type in the title of a novel and find it
So far so good 5/5
I’ve found this app through authors on Wattpad I just started using this app and so far it’s great. I also love how the developer responds to many reviews in order to help make their app better and comfortable for its users.
App is weird 3/5
I learned of Inkitt through authors on Wattpad, and I was excited to use it as a new source of stories. At first the app ran smoothly and I had no problems reading my stories and changing chapters through the menus. However, after a few weeks the app became sort of unresponsive and when I tried to access the menu the app refused to open it. There are also times where the app randomly decides to open the menu and display all the information and I’m not able to close it. The app would be great if those issues could be fixed, since the selection of stories available are pretty solid. However, the problems with the app’s issues have really ruined the experience for me.
Interesting app and company 5/5
The concept is a community of writers and readers - with a publishing company in the background.
Writers offer their books for free due to the publishing company offering potential incentives such as cash for competitions and a potential publishing deal to books that get read to completion the most with good reviews.
Readers get free books (awesome), writers get an engaging audience (fantastic), and the publishing company receives a pool of manuscripts with data attached- like how interested the community is in the book (fantastic)! Win, win, win! At least that is my understanding of the app and company thus far.
Please feel free to check out my YA fantasy novel on the app - Cloud Shifters!
It is really great 5/5
I really liked that inkitt developed such a great app. I am one of the inkitt writers and I became happy when I saw it. By this app I can read novels much easier and It is really great but still I could not sign up and I don’t know why it says no connection. I hope It will be solved. Inkitt always helped writers in many different ways and as we see still it does.

Can you maybe add the paging feature in to so u can chose if you want to page or scroll please cause when I scroll it’s hard for me to like the book
Great reading app, but lackluster writer app. 3/5
I’m just starting to publish my stories online, and love Inkitt. But the fact I can’t check my own reading analytics, upload stories written from my phone or edit my existing stories.
That’s about it.
Good but... 4/5
It’s a good app with great stories but I wish they had a symbol that showed if the story is complete or in-progress.
Read out load option 4/5
Just wondering if this app has an option to read out load like some of the other app. since sometimes am reading at night and don’t feel like looking at the screen for long periods of time.
Mostly Great 3/5
By C Priv
The only bad things that I can say about the app are that 1. It is occasionally laggy. 2. I wish it was easier to browse my personal library, why is there so much space in that area if you can only scroll side to side instead of up and down. 3. I wish there was an option to flip pages instead if scroll, I am used to Wattpad where that is an option so I have to wait for it to load the table of contents then close that to continue reading and as I said, it is laggy.
Book options 4/5
This app is really great and nice. But my only problem is that it doesn’t give me new options for books to read. So if a skip a book it gives me the same one later. It would be nice to have more book options
Must have 5/5
It’s very easy to use! Love finding new books on Inkitt to read.
Waste of space 1/5
I got this app because Wattpad writers where posting there chapters a week earlier on Inkitt I’ve had this app for 2weeks now and it never works there always something wrong with it and if I can’t simply read a book without altercation it’s not worth it
Good, but hard to navigate 4/5
I enjoy the books on the app! However, I wish it showed the full description of the book or gave a ‘more’ option. It would also be great to see the last time a book was updated, within the library and on discover pages. Also, why is there a limited number of results for each category? I can’t get past 20 or so books. It would be great for authors to use tags, or someway to identify what the book is about, past the genres.
Inkitt review 4/5
I love this app it is such a good and convenient place to read and explore different genres of reading
Annoyed AF 1/5
Seriously wish they’d stop poaching all my favorite authors off of Wattpad. Like get your own authors! I know it’s a good opportunity for them but it’s just a hassle for everyone else. That’s like the fourth book for me this week that’s been out on here. Now I can’t freely read books that I’ve really enjoyed reading as much. I have to wait seven days more than I’ve already waited for. Most of these books I’ve read from the very beginning of the authors journey. I don’t need or want to download a whole new app when I already have one that I can’t even read them on!
Not much to not like 4/5
I enjoy reading on this app and I enjoy most of the books I’ve found but I do have a few adjustments for the app that could be made. These could be pet peeves of mine but I’d really like to be able to flip the pages in the books instead of having to scroll and I don’t like the layout of the books when they’re in your library, I find it easier if they’re in columns or rows and for some way/notification on the book itself to see when its updated. I’d also like a way to be able to easily find completed/good books. I’ve found some gems but only when I search deep and for awhile. Other than these things that I’d change I enjoy reading with Inkitt, I think it’s a great app that gives writers good opportunities.

Edit: It would be nice to add books to your library rather than just simply downloading them for offline purposes. Also, taking the books from the library would be a nice upgrade because it piles up over time. And a bug that needs to be fixed: some stories claim to have x amount of reviews but when reviewing the reviews, it’s not the number that it claims it has. It’s normally less than that.
So I have been using Wattpad for 4+ years and I’ve decided that when it was time to write that I should share my stories on multiple writing platforms to promote myself. I have only had Inkitt for two days, but I have to say that I absolutely enjoy the layout and the reviewing system. The star system is something I’ve always wanted Wattpad to try and now that I’ve find it with Inkitt I think I’ll enjoy it a lot. Also, the design of Inkitt is so simple and very pleasing. It’s easy to navigate and reading is fun. You can read books offline (this is one of the perks of the app considering Wattpad got rid of this feature)!! Awesome! Although I have enjoyed this app in the few days that I have had it, I would like to make some suggestions to the app:
- Add a paging option when reading instead of scrolling. I don’t mind scrolling to read the text, but I prefer to turn a page because it mimics reading an actual book.
- Allowing writers to edit their writing on the app itself could prevent a lot of trouble. It would be easier for me to edit using the mobile app rather than a computer most times because I won’t always be able to use my computer. So adding a feature to edit your work on the app should be considered.
Other than that, I really enjoy reading on the app. If anything it’s more of a reading app than a writing app, but it makes it so easy to find a book to read. I love this app, and am not leaving it anytime soon.
Creating an account... 3/5
I try to login on the app but it doesn’t let me so when I try to create an new one it says I’m too young. I must admit sadly that I’m in my 20’s but it still thinks I’m too young. Thanks for the confidence boost Inkitt
Love the idea of the app, however, why can I not search for books by their names? Or even the authors? The app keeps on using one specific word from the title of the books i’m searching for and recommends a bunch of other books except the one i’m looking for.
Great but... 4/5
It is an amazing app but we can barely see the comments now. Only the most recent three show up at a time. Also being unable to delete and sort through our library makes the app a little undesirable. Everything else is great though!
Great but needs work 4/5
I love the way they treat their authors but the comment section needs work. If they could have it were it would be more like comment threads (like Facebook?) it would be so much easier communicating with other readers to develop plot theories. Fix that and you have the complete package. Plus lately comments won’t load on my app :(
It won’t let make an account! 1/5
I love this app but I wish there were more stories that had more than 30 chapters. I’m reading one now called Damon that has over 60 chapters and I love it.
Enjoyable With A Few Issues 3/5
I learned about Inkitt through an author I follow on WattPad. While I enjoy not having limitations on Inkitt and being able to find and read stories for mature audiences, whereas WattPad inhibits this, there are some issues. First off, I’m not getting notifications. I’ve checked everything within my devices settings; It’s the app. Then when you go into Inkitt and check notifications when someone posts a new chapter of a story, it says it’s unavailable, takes you to the beginning of the previous chapter, and you have to scroll down and click “next chapter” to read that new chapter. While it’s not a huge deal, it’s inconvenient. Also, discussions and comments on stories are hard to decipher. It’d be nice if what the person is commenting on was automatically quoted. All that said, I’d like to see some fixes, but it’s a good tool for readers and writers alike and I believe, due to issues I’ve seen develop on WattPad, that Inkitt is possibly more secure.
Love the app but... 3/5
I absolutely love what I can find in the app. I wish that there was a way of telling if a story is getting uploads, how long ago the last upload was, and if stories are completed. It's a huge inconvenience to be really into a story that never gets completed and I can't tell that they quit uploading it months ago. I also have a hard time finding a lot of stories from the small selection it gives me in the discover area. Please consider these in your next update. Thank you.
