Shame on Instacart! I can’t believe you laid off so many workers who tried to assemble and collectively bargain for better wages, benefits, and working conditions. Retaliation? Really? These contract-work loopholes only keep the business in mind and not the hard working people that keep you in business. I have canceled my account and have deleted the app. Terrible!

This app is a good idea that functions well. However, in the middle of a global pandemic, instacart organized against their employees who hoped to unionize.
If you can't allow your employees to advocate for their workplace needs, you won't be getting my business.
Greedy and Exploitative 1/5
I have used this service for 2 years, and am finally over it and downloading Shipt instead. I recommend looking at local grocery delivery options or other apps. Instacart is no longer trustworthy or reliable.
Bad App: The app has glitched and “double ordered” multiple times, which is frustrating enough without Customer Support trying to charge a $15 cancellation fee due to their own app’s issues and before a shopper has even received it.
Ridiculous Fees: Delivery Fee? Service Fee? Cancellation Fee? Etc, etc. I do not know why I even bothered to have InstaCart Express.
Irresponsible : Recently discovered many anti-maskers work for them including one of the folks that delivered my orders. There is no recourse for reporting shoppers to address this issue. This negates the use of the service to protect the vulnerable people in my household. This company is exploring every option possible to avoid taking any responsibility for their employees and practices.
Bad Business Practices: It was recently announced they are trying to fire every employee who worked to unionize. This is an embarrassment in 2021. I hope people support more ethical companies if given the choice. Luckily, more grocery-delivery options become available every day, so there’s no reason Instacart should hold on to market share.

Instacart is the worst delivery service 1/5
My cousin ordered 160 dollars worth of stuff. The girl delivering it pulled up to the house told my cousin she left it on our steps(we live in the same house) next to the mailboxes. Not even a minute later she went outside and there was nothing. We went around the house and no groceries. This girl really didn’t drop them off and just took them. So Instacart was called they won’t do a refund instead offered a $25 credit. I will not use this service I’m just here to write my review and spread the word that this company has 0 interest in its customers. I also will continue to spread the word through fb.
Convenient/staff are a huge concern 3/5
I’ve been using Instacart for a few weeks now. At first the service was impeccable. Great replacement items chosen. Staff chatted as necessary. It is a service and I will continue to use as I have RA and cancer so getting out is hard.
I’ve recently run into the issue of items missing and staff said they charge extra “if they have to walk in the snow”...so I had her leave the items on the ground and I brought them in. Ummm... we live in NYS and it is January do it does snow. Driver apparently was not aware it snows here. Again, please require your staff to be educated. I can’t remember the names of these thieves. I will start taking video from when they arrive until they leave. Take snapshots of everything that is received via your phone such as the replacements.
Prices go up and down. Sometimes ridiculously high. I’m told staff can raise prices as they wish? Up to 1.00$ extra PER ITEM?!
Don’t purchase a case of water or a gallon of milk or any “heavy “item or you will be charged a lifting service fee of 3.50$. Some staff are fantastic and I do give an extra 5-20 $ tip on top of the tip already processed through Instacart so they are making their due. I have issues with the market 32. I just believe it’s the Amsterdam store so it’s not the best. Chose stores local to you. Don’t even go out of the 30 mile range if you don’t have too. All my dairy comes melted ( such as yesterday’s order) . Rotten food. Does staff look at the food? I have had over 100.00 in groceries stolen from me from the drivers( ? ) so I’ll be more attentive to what the Instacart people are choosing for me and request pics of every replaced item. It won’t be fun and a waste of my time. Look for other programs like this until the company can do a better job shopping.
As for the annual fee- that is if you chose the auto Instacart deal. (One hopes) Good idea though.
I do hope that this company gets some better staff who know the difference between collard greens, mustard greens, escarole etc. , my ice cream was completely thawed and all over the paper bag. I bought 2 half gallons of ice cream and both were put at the bottom of the paper bag and had melted everywhere. That was a mess not to mention the ice cream ( breyers and kemp’s) not cheap, had to be trashed. Such a poor review and I’m sorry but please discourage your staff from stealing. I will have to go through all my bags one by one with my order receipt and your staff to make sure I have all my items and they are fresh/not missing etc.
all in all just order every other day and small orders. My orders are weekly to everyday and if you give the shoppers more than they can handle things are a problem.
My best shopper and driver is Michael. Not Mike who is a thief and another terrible shopper. Staff who bring me my food ( some shop then others drive) said “sorry about your food, it’s awful, MIKE doesn’t put the food away softer shopping in our temp controlled areas so we don’t care for him ands won’t drive if he shops because then they will get the bad reviews, not mike.

My shopper dropped my groceries at the wrong address to the house next door to mine. I was depending on those groceries to be delivered to me at the time and address that was CLEARLY indicated in my order. I am currently diagnosed with Covid 19 and cannot go out. The convenience of paying extra to have someone shop and deliver my groceries is an important service for me. I called Customer Support and the service rep sent the shopper back to my house because the shopper insisted my order was on my chair outside (it wasn’t). Why would I want to make contact with someone who messed up my order? I’m on quarantine!! It made no sense because the shopper failed to admit she left my order at the wrong address. I had raw meats in my order and they were left out for over 30 minutes at the wrong location. The shopper told me the bags looked “undisturbed” at my neighbor’s house (so was I supposed to go next door, walk to my neighbor’s porch and pick up my own shopping bags that should have been delivered to my house in the first place?) I was refunded my money, but I still did not have the groceries I needed. TERRIBLE service both with the shopper and customer service response. My experience was unacceptable and I won’t be using Instacart any longer nor will I recommend it.

After using Instacart several times on Safari I decided it would be easier to use the App. But it froze after I entered in my log in information. I even deleted it and downloaded it again with the same problem. My wife’s older iPhone didn’t have any problem running the App. Super frustrating.

Julie picked and delivered all my groceries. She made good, smart decisions and when she got to where I live, she came up to my apartment to drop the groceries off, knocked on the door. Then she waited at the end of the hall to make sure I opened my door and brought the groceries in. I can’t tell you how thankful I am to have this service. I don’t have an immune system so sometimes things can get lonely but I also know I have to be very careful. With Julie, it was effortless. And I just want her to know what a great job she did.

It’s absolutely impossible to do anything in this ridiculous app without being pestered for a review of previous orders. If I had any desire to write a review, I would’ve done so. The overly aggressive demands for reviews are bad enough. The fact that they constantly disrupt and even BLOCK functionality within the app is simply unforgivable. So here’s the only review you’ll ever get from me, Instacart. You get an F.
I was super excited to use this service due to COVID and being a mom. First time using it and my deliver is already delayed. When it finally gets here I’m missing items... so not only are we eating late i had to order in because they forgot the most important part of my delivery. I’m better off packing my kids and going to the grocery store myself.

I used to use this app regularly and loved it. However recently InstaCart laid off 2,000 employees- including all employees who voted to unionize. Due to this company’s poor treatment of it’s employees I can no longer use this app in good conscience.

I had ordered quite a few items on this app since I had forgotten them while grocery shopping during the day. The driver arrived quickly and was so kind! But my 5 stars comes from not actually the app itself but the AMAZING customer service! I had a few questions, I called the customer service line and had a representative all within 2 minutes. His name was Carlos, he was sooooo very helpful and so kind!!! You rock Carlos! Thankyou!

Lightening speed delivery I had great communication with my shopper regarding substitutions ! Absolutely flawless
Have used Instacart for years and had good service. But since Covid, it’s been a completely different experience. Orders delivered to wrong address, support was rude and said order would be redone and redelivered same day but it never happened. Then only offered $5 credit. Search today for Target order: “aluminum foil” search brought “girls coat” as primary result. Search for “first aid bandage” got “falafel” result. “Method” brand search showed 10 Method items. When I select one, it says can’t be found. These items are available in the store. Can’t trust Instacart.

My husband and I have been using Instacart for the past few months since we feel safer staying home. The service is great but we have issues EVERY single time we order. That has more to do with the shoppers than the service itself, though. Between getting moldy items, or the shoppers just forgetting things completely, we always have to file some sort of complaint. Luckily the customer support is super quick and credits money to our account within the hour.

Unreliable and not always easy to use 3/5
I definitely appreciate this service during the pandemic; it’s saved so much time and saved me from potential exposure to covid at the grocery store. However, I think the app is still very clunky in some ways and I have wasted a lot of money on items that I ordered and paid for but didn’t receive—sometimes as much as half of my order has been missing (and not from replacements, but things the shopper marked as picked up but did not deliver). As far as the app goes, I live in a city, so there are multiple locations of some of the grocery stores yet I am not able to choose which location I want to shop from. I also usually have trouble keeping an eye on my order’s status after I’ve placed it. I can never find the window to view the chat with the shopper or the status of the items and have to click through an instacart notification on my phone to find it

Terrible service!! Placed order for a lunch delivery for frontline workers at 10:21am for delivery between 12:30/1:00. Order kept being pushed back by hours. No explanation, shopper was shopping for 11 items for 2.5 hours. Only resolution for the inconvenience was to “reschedule” an order that I had just been told was already on its way. No resolution from customer service and no return call from manager which I was told would be within two hours. Definitely try a different food delivery service!!
I had to delete this app because as a proud union member, I won’t cross a picket, or patronize a business that fired thousands of employees as retaliation for voting to unionize.

I was about to place my first order when I realized that everything in my cart was marked up. I decided to do some research on the business model before I placed the order, and what I learned changed my mind about ever utilizing this service. Instacart is valued in the tens of billions. They laid off thousands of workers during a period of financial growth spurred by the pandemic it is profiting from (including every single one that voted to unionize)

Every items is up charged so I do not add extra for a tip because the shoppers receive the difference in cost for each item. Multiple times I have had shoppers change my order so to a higher quantity and then I don’t receive these items and they pocket the difference. Customer service is
Good about crediting the account when this happens but it’s frustrating that shoppers can do this and I have to go back and check my receipt every time I order because they can do this. Not worth the hassle. I canceled my membership and do not recommend using Instacart

I was really excited to use this app, as it’s super convenient to get your groceries delivered to you during this pandemic, but i was quickly disappointed with my first use of it. I had put my order out early in the day to get it within 2 hours. While the order did come in within two hours, it was delivered to a different place. Despite the fact that i put very specific directions to deliver it to my apartment, the guy most likely was very careless and delivered it somewhere else. They had to resend my order, which was scheduled to arrive within another 2 hours, but then it got delayed to almost 3 hours. The most upsetting part of this is that they kept having to replace some items because they no longer had the items I originally ordered. If only the delivery guy had been more attentive, i would have had my correct order given to me. I’m so disappointed. This shouldn’t have happened if the guy paid attention to the directions i had given him.

You can make special requests if a product is not in the inventory.
You can pick a time window for when you like your products to be delivered.
You will be notified when the shopper leaves the shop and arrives at your home.
You can change products in your shopping cart from the time you submit the order until the shopping starts.
You can provide information what to do with the delivery after arrival at your place.
You can leave feedback for your shopper after the delivery.
When buying alcoholic beverages, IDing works contactless. You just hold the back of your ID upright and the shopper takes a photo of it.
Reporting of missing, damaged or wrong items got super easy. You just mark from your shopping list the products with issues and you get a refund within less than 24 hrs.
The App does not auto-refresh the approve and chat window. I have to close and re-open them every time there is a new message.
The App does not always safe the instructions I added per product for next time.
It is not possible to zoom into product photos to see details.
Not all products have detailed information (ingredients, size, weight).
When I add products after I submitted the order, the App sometimes does not allow me to provide alternatives.
I hate that I have to set my tip BEFORE I receive the products. I like to give a generous tip when the shopper did a great job, but sometimes I find out after the delivery that products were missing, incorrect or of bad quality. I therefore lowered my tip in general. I wished the tipping option would appear AFTER the delivery.
I wished there where more feedback comments. For example: „Delivery was complete“, „All products delivered were correct“.
I wished I could add a photo to my profile that the shopper can see.
I wished there was a „wishlist“ to safe products I like to buy at some point in the future.
I wished there was an option to say whether I prefer paper or plastic bags.
I wished I could add favorite shoppers that will be assigned if they are available.
I wished shoppers would be discouraged to shop for more than one client at the same time. It happened a few times that a shopper was shopping for two households simultaneously. Not only did this sometimes lead to confused communications but also to missing or incorrect deliveries.

Someone at my company gave me and my team a giftcard. Couldn't use it. Called customer care first guy i spoke woth was super rude. Called back... acknowledged the problem but they couldn't fix it. Had to submit a case to a specialist. At this point it would have been cheaper to pay out of pocket. I forfeit the giftcard and let my company know to not use them again. Just total incompetence z

My experience w/ instacart was horrible. I do not believe much effort was put into finding the items I asked for. For example, I find it hard to believe that Food Lion did not have at least 1 vidalia onion in the store. I ordered 7 items. 5 of 7 were switched out for something else. 1 refunded (which I have to wait 2-3 business days for) bc it allegedly was out of stock. I checked the option to NOT leave my groceries unattended, but my groceries were out on my porch in a split bag causing some items to come out of the bag. The shopper says “the bag just split”. Sure it did 🤨. It should not have been on the ground anyway bc I took less than 30 sec to come to the door!! And to top it all off my card was charged an extra $12. Per the customer service rep, extra monies are placed on hold just incase I want to add to the order. Well good thing for me I didn’t bc my shopper never responded to questions anyway. To say that I’m very dissatisfied is an understatement
