Can’t download any issues, app keeps asking for a purchase 1/5
I bought a subscription through Apple Pay, which was supposed to include a free 1-month trial and 12 issues...so far nothing has been downloadable. The app doesn’t show any issues available to read, only the most current issue with an option to purchase it. I am very disappointed, I think I’ll cancel and stick to print.
Always have to refresh to validate my subscription with every new issue. Should be automatic. Also no way to have a digital only subscription.

This app used to let me browse the pages of the magazines by thumbprints, but they seem to have disappeared, I’m disappointed.

Countless attempts to log in and download issues have failed. What’s the point. The upgrade is awful. I’ve lost my entire library.

The new app has too many bugs. All of my magazines aren’t loading. I’ve been a subscriber for both digital and hard copy magazines for several years. I cannot access my downloaded magazines when I’m offline. It is a disaster!
Can’t access anything 1/5
Forced to download new app, now it doesn’t recognize my info, can’t access my magazines, CVS can’t help and gave me an email address. I’m traveling, this is ridiculous. How do I revert back to the old app, which worked just fine??!!
Awful tech version of the magazine 1/5
It’s so bad, it’s like looking at a 1980’s PowerPoint presentation. You can’t zoom pages to read smaller text or see an item closely. I’ve been a fan of the mag since its inception and will continue to buy at drugstore. Just wish I could get a refund and help you redesign the apps poor user experience.

I have been a subscriber for 15 years now and since the new app came out it won’t recognize me as a user. I have written customer support 2x now and no response. Please fix. I am considering canceling if this is not fixed

I contacted the developer. I’m supposed to wait 48 hours for an update in their part. Will try again! Every time I try to log in it says that I have no “subscription” ! Hate this app!

I have been a subscriber for years. The recent update isn’t working for me. My subscription is good for another year but the library will not sync no matter what I do. Frustrating to say the least! Perhaps more user testing is needing before doing a big new release!
Updated APP not working 1/5
After updating App is now have no issues despite having paid for a subscription for many years. Have deleted/ reinstalled app, signed in, signed out...nothing. Only shows issues that must be purchased. Please fix. Have called In Style customer service 3 times..still no fix.

I paid for a 2 year print and digital subscription, for the last 7 months the app has been ok, until 2 days ago when I was asked to update the app. All my downloaded issues have been deleted and I can’t read the latest issue. I’ve called customer service and was placed on hold with no resolution and the emails I sent to the app have not resolved anything either. This app is a joke and the magazine is not helpful in resolving the issue!!
Worst magazine app ever 1/5
I was forced to use this to access my digital copy of Instyle. Where to begin with the problems. I have a digital subscription, but the app does not recognize me as a user and wants me to pay more $$ to access my already paid for editions. A call to customer service verified my subscription, but they could not provide an answer about my sign in. They told me to wait 24 hrs and try signing in again. Needless to say that didn’t work. I will be calling them again for a refund of my digital subscription. It is no wonder magazines are becoming extinct. They can not keep up with the digital times.

The latest version is awful!!! It does not ever save your page when you exit, as the app always used to do. When you do go back, you need to go through several steps to get to where you were (if you’re lucky enough to remember where that was!). It has become such an inconvenience to read my issues now, that I am seriously considering not renewing my subscription unless it is fixed.

I have subscribed to instyle for years, and was always able to get the digital edition when it was released. Now, you have to pay to get the most recent issues? WHY? It was not like that before.
I don't always download the current issue but it was a nice perk if you were going to travel, or do some shopping, because you can bring several issues along with you. It was great to show salespeople a style or item you liked.
If you can fix this, that would be great.
Update: 11/11/17 where have all the Pro Guides gone? Also, where are the spring issues (April-June) of the last three years? I can only see May 2016. I would like to know where the Pro Guides I paid for, and my previously downloaded issues went. INSTYLE PLEASE FIX THIS!!!

The new update has a horrible design. Call me picky, but if I’m paying for a monthly digital subscription, my expectations would be that the layout mirror the printed copy. The layout looks antiquated and there’s no longer easy access to the table of contents. How come the design was better for previous versions?

It is horrible, I cannot download the content of my previous purchases. How can I get my money back? Downloads from 2012 onwards are no longer available. I am so disappointed on InStyle.

1. The new layout and design of the updated app is not user friendly. It does not flow. It’s obnoxious to have to scroll through each magazine cover. And once inside you have to click through the pages.
2. The new app did not transfer all the previous content. I used the “InStyle Color Guides” weekly to figure out what colors I could pair with others to give outfits new feels. These color guides are no where to be found and I transferred all of my previous purchases. Even more annoying- I paid for those.
3. Not so much an app update complaint rather than a content complaint. I do not want to read political articles in my fashion magazine. I want to read about fashion. Designers, trends, tips, etc. If I want to read about politics I’ll grab a newspaper- or get on Facebook for that matter. My point is- instyle is my escape from all of that.
Turning pages is a pain, two swipes per 3/5
Just uploaded the new version (black icon) and on my iPhone 7 Plus the pages sort of respond and then flip back, requiring multiple swipes to turn the page.
In-app purchases -- don't buy 1/5
I purchased several in-app pro style and beauty guides from InStyle magazine over the last few years. However, they did not transfer to my new iphone7+ eventhough the monthly issues did.
Customer service of INSTYLE refused to help saying it's iTunes problem. I contacted iTunes and they said it was a "consumable" app only viewable thru the device it was purchased on and that the developer/INSTYLE was responsible for fixing this.
I called INSTYLE again and spoke to a digital specialist and insisted I speak to a digital supervisor who said INSTYLE was not responsible for in-app purchases, but that they would try to send me a link to PDF versions of the proguides if iTunes/Apple can verify my purchases.
What a big headache!
Save your money -- don't buy the in-app issues. As for the ones you have, you won't be able to transfer them to a new Apple device. So disappointed!
Love the print copy but not the digital. 1/5
I'm having more problems with my digital copy, and I just resubscribed after cancelling about two years ago. I can't zoom in on multiple pages or bookmark pages, as the website advertises that I should be able to do. I also cannot get the digital copy to download onto my iPad, but it downloadd onto my phone...I can't say reading these articles on my phone screen, when I can't zoom, is enjoyable.
Sorry InStyle, I love your magazine but in all honesty I wish I could get my money back from this digital subscription.

This magazine will take my money every month but I can't access the digital content. I contacted Apple and was told I had to contact INSTYLE, I contacted InStyle and was told I had to ask Apple for support. I can't even cancel my subscription!

Similar to dez from Texas, I have been unable to access my digital subscription...and I have changed to digital only! Tried removing the app and re-downloading. No success. Horrible. Online help did not work either.

I received an offer for both instyle and style watch. The offer lead you to believe you would get digital access to both....wrong. If I had known you had to pay extra for instyle ditigal access ( which I didn't have to do with my prior subscription) I wouldn't have purchased the magazine. Instead of offering the hard print and charging for the digital, why not offer an option of the two. I would rather have the digital instead of the print. Will not renew this magazine.

I have a subscription to the print edition and according my subscription service, I am also entitled to digital access. According to site directions, all you need to do is enter your account number, zip code and email address. Easy right? Wrong! You are taken to a screen that will only allow you to set up online access if you RENEW your subscription. It's an unscrupulous tactic. At least other publishers are up front when it comes to digital and print subscriptions. They either offer digital access with print or they don't - but they don't do a bait and switch on you.

My daughter purchased a 12-month subscription through the app and was hoping to read it on the family iPad. Very disappointing that the subscription is not shareable. It's unclear from the app details which indicate it is shareable. Tough lesson learned for $24.
