Since this latest update I’ve been getting a bunch of notifications, from my camera, saying that there is activity. When I look there isn’t any audio or visual triggers that would account for the trigger. Maybe a ghost moved in, last night, but I think the latest update is the culprit.

The app after a month just stopped working. I reset the plug deleted and re-downloaded the app and it just would not work. Again worked perfect for a month and then just stopped working. Definitely a waste of the 35 bucks I spent on the plug and now it’s past the return date of course.

The device that I have is a smart plug. It is very easy to set up. Step by step instructions come with the app. Very easy to follow. Will buy more devices.

App is easy to use. Super responsive with almost no lag time even when my phone isn’t on the home network. What would get this to 5 stars is if the developers would integrate Siri or HomeKit into the setup allowing me to control my home with my voice, that is, when Siri decides to work...

The app is fine I’m just really frustrated because the new lightbulb I put it says it’s always offline. And it’s not. It only is happening to the one I just updated.
Can’t reconfigure without Internet connection 1/5
I bought an LB120 a while back for use at a location with no Internet access, and it has more or less worked until now. The one caveat: if there were any kind of power outage, the light bulb would revert to Friday, Jan. 1, 2000; the only way to bring the light bulb back into the present was to completely reset it. However, the latest version of the Kasa app refuses to recognize and program my light bulb without an Internet connection. My “smart” light bulb is now practically useless.

Super easy to use. Set up takes maybe a minute or two. The app is easy to follow and understand. Love that you can group devices for ease of use too.
Was working perfectly for months and months but lately I have had to delete and download the app again almost every time I want to use it in order for it to work. Don’t know why. Maybe new iPhone operating system updates?

App was pretty good but in some recent updates it starte require account creation for adding an item such as bulb. This also means you are stuck if no internet connection and could not find an workaround. With bulbs loosing wifi settings periodically this is even more annoying.

Difficulty with smart actions 3/5
After recent update smart actions no longer recognizes my switches (HS200 and HS210). Contacted Customer service and was instructed to uninstall all and reinstall, which was the first thing I had already tried. Over all I’m happy with the product was disappointed when resolution was not found.

Please build an iPad app. The iPhone app doesn’t look or work well on an iPad. Also, the widget doesn’t work on an iPad. It works great on my iPhone.

I love these plugs and the fact that they work with my Alexa makes them very useful. I had a dark spot in my hall and with these plug in's I can have Alexa turn on the light before I have to go upstairs. Thank you for a very handy product.

The switch works some of the time, and then at other times, can’t seem to find the WiFi. This off and on behavior is a lead up to not working at all. All the rebooting of your device or smartphone in the world does not handle the situation. Getting any help from the company is out of the question. Going to make it a weight on my fishing line.

The app is easy and very intuitive. It provides all the options needed for ‘smart’ procedures. The device I use to control my lamp is very reliable and it works as intended. I will be adding more such devices as I advance my ‘smart’ home.
The best rating you can give is that an app works, does what you want and is reliable in remote situations. This is all 3.

Excellent replacement for my dependable Iris smart plugs. Super easy to set up and schedule. Also added the outdoor plugs and the dual access plugs added depth to my outdoor control options.
Latest update has broken the app. Existing devices no longer show remote control. New devices that are installed have the remote control button but it won’t turn on. Fail!

I will admit the plug was great. Easy to set up and worked consistently. Until there was a power blip and suddenly it won’t work and though I have deleted and re-added the plug, it works in the app and though Alexa shows it when enabled it still shows unresponsive in the Alexa app and won’t accept voice commands. I bought a different smart plug using a different app and 3 of them work flawlessly with Alexa. Not sure why a minor power blip could create a problem but if that affects it working again with a smart plug I don’t consider it consistent. Power will occasionally go off. To have a plug that requires tweaking after that seems less than 5 stars. Before the problem...I would have given the app and device 5.

I’ve used 2 other smart plugs that did not work well for me. They kept disconnecting from my wifi, or Alexa couldn’t recognized it. After purchasing the Kasa Smart Plug, i was so happy. It’s by far the best smart plug I’ve purchased. Easy to use, set up and doesn’t give me any problems!

Every time I open up the app it doesn’t detect my smart plug I have to refresh like 10 times in order to detect the smart plug. Sometimes I have to close the app and open it again.

This is an awesome product and I have had zero issues with it so far. I have been using Kasa in my home now with Alexa and Sonos One. All I can say is that it works every time I use it. Love it.

I wanted wireless control over my light timers, scheduling is easy and works well. Outlets are quiet and two can be used if necessary. App is easy to connect and use. Very nice addition to my house.

Frustrated with latest 2.9.0 version 1/5
Appears the developer decided to dumb down the latest app version 2.9.0 making it more confusing. Yes they added window dressing, but on the technical side, they took away one of the greatest features of the app. When you go into the Advance section of the app, you used to see the signal strength indicator in decibels and that gave you the opportunity to fine-tune the smart device to your router such as reorientation of the router’s antennas. I should say this is a very important feature because the tp-link smart devices are the worst clients in my network in terms of their ability to receive signals from my $400+ router. In the new app version, the developer converted the decibel indicator to the standard and very coarse Wi-Fi signal strength icon making it impossible to see any fine improvements. Why can’t you have both the decibel indicator and the Wi-Fi icon?
A second problem with the new app is that now Alexa is having trouble recognizing commands that was not a problem in the earlier version. I’ll be working through that over the next couple of days.

Some have complained about the “save” feature found at locations in the setup process. I find this very helpful. Kasa is straight forward and elegant in its simplicity and ease of understanding. Next to this, the Alexa app is downright pathetic, bloated and kludgy. Give me Kasa anytime!
Needs iPad Version & HomeKit? 3/5
This app is well made. Layout and design is thought out. However, it’s missing an iPad version. Hoping the next update will include it.
So, it was announced in January that HS105 will get a firmware to be HomeKit compatible in early 2019. It’s already March, and we’ve yet to see any firmware. Is this happening at all?

I did lots of deleting and reloading the app. Finally I read to doable the app and re-enable it. That finally worked.
