Multiple red flags with this app. There’s no place to make a reservation. When you try to make a reservation or view your spot, there’s no option to select your restaurant. If you call the closest restaurant they’ll tell you to use their website. The website is the same way and they don’t give any explanation for it. The app is notoriously slow and laggy. I hope they fix these issues soon.

Waitlist system garbage: YOU get punished for THEIR waitlist estimation mistakes?!? 1/5
Knowing from previous experience that the waitlist for dinner can be 1.5 - 2+ hours long, I put a request on the waitlist for 3 ppl via the app when it said the waitlist was 1 hr 45 minutes long (at 5:15 pm). This would allow me time to finish class and drive ~30 minutes across town to get to the restaurant at my desired dining time / meeting my dining companions, 7 pm.
Imagine my shock / panic then when only ~45 minutes later (around 6:00 pm) I got a message saying my table was ready and I had only *15 minutes* to get to the restaurant, or I’d lose my place and would then need to re-enter my name on the list, effectively resetting my place on the waitlist, which was now over 2 hours long?!? (That is, my ACTUAL dining time would now be after 8:00 pm, vs the 7:00 pm slot I thought I was getting?!)
Panicked, I called and explained that the app waitlist had TOLD me that I had 1 hr 45 minutes before my time. Even if I COULD at that moment leave school early (I couldn’t) , I was still 30 minutes away?! Had I known that the *ACTUAL wait was LESS THAN HALF* the amount of time the app said, I would have of course waited until 45 minutes before 7 pm (6:15) to place my name on the waitlist.
I was essentially told tough luck, as soon as you put your name on the waitlist, you must be ready to appear at the restaurant within 15 minutes AT ANY TIME. So, if the waitlist app says “2 hour wait”, the ACTUAL wait might be anytime between zero - 2hrs+?
What in the actual fox?!
TL;DR: they force you to use the waitlist, but if their estimate is completely off (eg, one hour less time than estimated), it’s on you to magically be able to appear within 15 minutes or you simply lose your spot? THEIR app is WRONG, but YOU lose your spot in line?!?
This is foxing ridiculous.
To be clear, I’m not angry so much that the app was massively wrong in predicting the waitlist time; I’m angry that those of us who obediently follow the rules are the ones who get punished when a huge mistake is made by THEM. And there is zero recourse: your spot is simply forfeited!!!!

The rewards system is completely broken. When you pay the check through the phone, they tell you to put your email so the rewards are counted. It never happens, and they cannot do anything at the store for those check that are paid by the phone. Meantime, they encourage you to pay with the phone. A complete scam to collect your personal data.

What is the point of having a Sushi App & Reward Program if the app keeps asking for the name of the Member every time they open the app, every time they begin an order and every time they go to checkout the order, worst part is the app keeps asking for phone confirmation via sms txt every time you want to order. What a waste of time. Gimme a break.

The app is trash. They gotta make it clear how to earn rewards. I even paid by calling the server (and they scanned my QR code) instead of self-checkout and still no rewards earned. This is bogus. This was not the first time and they skimped at least $15 rewards on my account. Might as well not have rewards program at all. Useless and upsetting.
Called to get on waitlist. Was told to I had to use the app. Ok fine. Download app, enter email, phone number before I can even see the wait time. 88 minute wait and accepting walk-ins only. I can’t join the waitlist by phone or the app. I’m going somewhere else.

‘More Stores Coming’ shows up under dine at field and cant select the location of the restaurant.
However the rewards still works and we got a $5 coupon with a QR code to use later.
To earn rewards always check out manually with a waiter then the waiter brings a phone to scan your rewards QR code and then you can pay.

Install the apps because voice mail said use it for wait list. Once installed all restaurants are walk only.

I only use the app to get us on a waitlist and pay. Paying is fine, but the waitlist feature is unhelpful. It’ll say there’s a 50 min wait on screen, then when I make a waitlist request it’ll change to a 30 min wait. Ok great but I wasn’t expecting that, now I have to change my plans. If I waitlist 20 minutes later, it pops out a new wait time of 45 minutes, counter to the 1hr+ wait time on the screen. I would prefer accurate reporting. Also you cannot undo a waitlist request, so even though my plans have changed and I’m not going to use that spot anymore, it’s still hitting the restarting queue and they’re still having to deal with it. It’s rather inconvenient for all parties.

The wait list for the cupertino location never opens up, so what’s the point of this app? One star!
All I want is to know how long the waitlist is at the restaurant. First you require me to download this app, then you require my email AND my phone number before I can find this information. That’s ridiculous. I’m deleting this app now. I wanted to try your restaurant, but I can get sushi somewhere else where they respect their customers’ time and privacy.

I love this sushi place. It’s literally my top 3 I have been going for the past 3-4 years at least 40-50 times a YEAR. I kid you not. I love it even more now that it’s completely contactless with the robot. HOWEVER, I have NEVER been able to get points because the app doesn’t let me scan the tablet at my table. Nor does it have an option to scan in receipts. PLEASE change thisss!!!

Worst app ever. They advertise downloading the app for rewards all over the restaurant and you’d think they’d actually have a semi-decent app- this app is trash.
Employees know the app is bad too, they just act like it works. Whenever I’ve asked them about it, they just tell me that my points will load later - yea right!! I’ve gone 8 times to Kura and spend well over $50 each time- not once have I gotten the discount coupon.

The app has a very hard time updating your place in line. Since the wait is normally over an hour my girlfriend and I got in line at home. The estimated wait time was just over an hour. We decided to watch an episode of our show while we waited for the line to clear out a bit. At the end of the episode which is about 20 minutes long we were 29th in line. We figured that if we had only moved 1 place in 20 minutes we should be good to help my girlfriends mom move some furniture. We had planned on doing that after dinner but since the line was moving so slow it made sense to do it then. Driving to her house and moving the furniture took no more than 15 minutes. Upon checking the app though we discovered we had moved to 9th in line. We start driving and the second we do so we get a message saying our name has been called. The app still thought we were 9th in line. For anyone who doesn’t know the policy here is after your name is called you have 15 minutes to show up before your name is taken off the list. This seems fair, but since we were about 20 minutes out I gave the restaurant a call. I asked them to bump my name back 5 or 10 people so that our place in line would not be lost. I was told that it’s company policy that if we wanted to move our name it had to be to the end of the line. Explains the situation got me nowhere. So now we are on our way to a competitor of Kura’s called Bittyfish sushi that is also a conveyer belt sushi restaurant. Btw their wait time was only 15 minutes so if anyone else is in the same position, or doesn’t want to wait an hour for Kura I would suggest Bittyfish.

I keep getting message error. “Network error has occurred. I delete all and install it again. It does the same thing. It’s so frustrating. I can’t use app to get points. I give up and deleted it off iPhone. I can’t even use it to reserve a spot. 😩

The wait list is working for me, and overall seems to have been improved and working. It helps beating the long lines at the metro Phoenix, AZ locations.

Why do I need an account just to be added to a waitlist? If anything use the yelp integration. The sign up process takes as much time as a credit card application. And page layout is not responsive at all to different display resolutions.

I enjoyed my first lunch at the restaurant and downloaded this app to earn points . Waiter scanned my code, confirmed it worked and several days later, nothing has been recorded in the app. Zero plates. Zero points.

Went through the entire process of creating an account and giving them all my info and first more just to get on the wait list. I selected my store, and BAM, couldn’t register. Called the store, listened to 3 minutes of blah blah blah until I got the info to get in contact with someone (it’s the number 4). Only to be told that I couldn’t get in the wait list because of a 3 hour wait. I understand the wait, no problem. But 5-10 minutes farting around with and app and phone calls. What the H y’all.

I thought it was great so you can wait in the car while you wait for your number but this app does not work. The “join waitlist” link is grayed out and not only mine but my friends as well. Dont waste your time With this app.
