Practice makes Perfect 5/5
By MD Monk-Monk
While sitting around the house, I realize that there is no better time to practice !
Night and day difference between Rosetta Stone and Duolingo. You get what you pay for
Fun and convenient 5/5
Really intuitive, fun and convenient since I can use it on my iPhone OR iPad wherever I am. Highly recommend!
Not so well… 1/5
It makes you pay after a couple levels so you can’t finish the game
Great content, buggy implementation 3/5
I am learning Chinese with Rosetta Stone. The content is really great, and I made a lot of progress with the app. However, the implementation has a lot of space to improve. The app is very slow to start from time to time (possibly this correlates with slow internet, but I have all the lessons downloaded for offline use). Every now and then it will tell me that I am jumping ahead and I should start with core lesson, and at the same time it shows that I completed the core lesson. Switching between Rosetta Stone and another app (e.g. google translate) makes RS freeze (the sound is there, but the screen shows the lesson progress, and doesn’t react to anything), and the app has to be restarted, taking a lot of time to start.
Bug fixes 1/5
I can’t honestly even say whether the contents of the app are great or not because every time I try to sign in, I get an error code or two. I have to uninstall and reinstall the app every time I want to log in and it’s just not worth it. I’m glad I’m not a paying customer or I would be extremely upset about the poor firsthand quality of the app.
Has become a waste of time 2/5
This app used to be great but the speech recognition rarely works now. I waste more time stopping my lessons, closing/restarting, uninstalling/reinstalling just to hopefully get it to work. Occasionally it will but most of the time I just quit my lesson (in frustration). I don’t feel like I’m getting what I paid for now.
The app is crapp 2/5
By Doyle Nick
Rosetta Stone is great. I feel like I'm learning a lot. The app detracts from the experience. It freeze-crashes during lessons. It randomly launches the pause menu. It often refuses to listen to me during the speaking exercises (not a right or wrong answer, just nothing). It's slow to launch exercises even when they have been downloaded to my phone.
Just not a great experience. My head is already swimming from the Spanish, I don't need the app to be a headache as well.
Doesn’t recognize speech frequently 1/5
I want my money back. The app fails to recognize speech half of the time. When it goes into failure I have to restart the app and then resume the lesson in order to get it to recognize any sounds.
Good app 5/5
By Katya Siverly
Very good Emerson app. Sometimes I have to google what a word or two means, but it is worth it
I purchased this app for what was supposed to be three months for $60. Now 6 months later they keep charging me $80 and I can’t figure out how to stop it! Total scam! Do not buy this!!
Buggy.. couldn’t finish setup... worthless. 1/5
I couldn’t even get past the sign in or I should say the set up account. Was asked to select a country but there were no options so try to type in my country USA, United States, and so forth and apparently my country doesn’t exist as far as this app goes. All in all this makes it pretty much worthless

Great app. Fun to learn
Rosetta Stone is the way to go for me 5/5
By nurse at Play
I like the way it starts off simple and works its way up gradually toward more complex sentence and communication structures. I want to learn Spanish as it is in many areas in the United States a second language. I am a nurse banking with any Spanish-speaking individuals and even though I do not expect to learn the language fluently I will at least be able to communicate with my patients
Great tool, but buggy 2/5
The tool for the most part is great. I’m really irritated with the number of bugs for such an expensive product, hence two stars... I paid in the hundreds of dollars,, I shouldn’t be tapping through lessons I have taken already because of a bug.. that bug has been around for months. Other bugs come and go... please add a better QA process.
Amazing App 5/5
This app is completely amazing! I have nothing to do on an airplane that takes 11hours, and I can learn a foreign language! This is my third language, and Rosetta Stone is letting me learn it well :)
About the pronunciation, I don’t know why I try many times but It always states that I am incorrect.
In some sections, it sounds like I’m saying it properly but it marks it wrong.
App still has bugs 3/5
The audio continues to not recognize speech intermittently. It seems to resolve temporarily by removing and reinstalling the app on the iPad.
I must say I’m really enjoying learning with Rosetta Stone. There’s no English translation to Japanese for me, it’s sink or swim in all Japanese and I feel like everything is sticking with me. I really feel like I’m learning and I find myself going over the lessons multiple times just cause I think they are fun. Truly a worthwhile endeavor.
The best 5/5
I don’t know sometimes... 1/5
The app takes forever to load what I am saying. I say it and it says I’m wrong, but I sound like them and it’s right. It’s very annoying and frustrating and is very annoying. Don’t recommend it. Sorry:(
Rosetta Stone 4/5
By Freddie Jones 126
This app is really good for learning new languages, it has helped me through.
Speech recognition is so frustrating, whether using earphones with mic or imbedded mic in iPad it does not recognize very clear speech. Asked for refund, being given the run around - very dissatisfied
The microphone is not consistent 1/5
By good story, but repetitive
The microphone portion of the app is very inconsistent. More then half of the time the app does not recognize that I am making a sound. Very frustrating.
Rosetta Stone engages.... 5/5
Rosetta Stone and gauges all your senses when learning a language it’s the very best way to learn a language
So many emails! 1/5
So I got this to learn things and yeah. I deleted it because I did not really use it and it was using up space. Two month after I deleted the app I had so many emails. It’s really annoying because you think your friends are emailing you but its the app. So... PLEASE STOP EMAILING ME!!! (My record of emails from this is 80 emails!)
Great way to learn the language; some minor bugs 4/5
Its core functionality is excellent, and I’m learning fast. Some auxiliary functionality, like using it without a mic or using the Apple Watch for the Audio Companion, has minor bugs, but that can be worked through.
Where are all the languages 3/5
By Publius Vergilius Maro
Great app and all but I don’t know if it’s just me but the app lacks certain languages that they claim to have. Might just have to pay to get them but I don’t think it’s fair that certain languages are free while others you have to pay for.
Leading Spanish 5/5
My grandma speaks fluent Spanish but not English and I don’t speak Spanish. So she has been sad that I didn’t understand her when ever she told me something. But now she is happy that I have Rosetta Stone to learn Spanish!
Enjoying so far!
I just started 5/5
I am just a starter on this game I want to learn about Spanish because when I grow up I want to go to Mexico
Good app 4/5
By chop Jop
Would like to have study schedules available.
Good app but not great 4/5
I am just beginning my adventure with Rosetta Stone. The app has some glitches but is very usable. I’ve read some reviews that stated that the process works much smoother in the browser but it will not work in an iPad browser. Tech Support said that it is because of no flash player. When I have worked with this longer, I’ll update my review.
pronunciation feature does not work 2/5
The voice recognition feature that is supposed to help you with your pronunciation does not work very well. On one of the exercises, it kept rejecting me. To test it, I recorded the app’s own audio of the phrase and played it back at the prompt. It would not accept that either! You can bypass those exercises but it was one of the selling points that got me to subscribe so it seems like a rip off.
Rosetta Not Stone 1/5
By Africa 🌍
No Swahili, and I am very disappointed in the lack of languages spoken in Africa are not displayed.
Minor UI Annoyances, but Overall Functional 4/5
I’m on unit 4 of Italian after six weeks. I have an iPhone 7+ and the full sentence multiple choice answers are crammed into the top of the screen in landscape mode, so the font size must be 7 or 8... which causes me to squint and move the phone 4 inches away from my slightly larger Italian nose. I recommend developing a portrait orientation of the mobile app, with selectable answers situation on the bottom half of the screen rather than the top and visual/not selectable components at the top. This would make for better UX on Mobile. Legibility is not an issue on iPad.
Love the visuals and combinations of approaches
By I like turtles666
It seems to throw you into some difficult subjects. But while you trial and error through some of it, it all comes together in your brain somehow, and you end up understanding everything they’re saying.
So far so good but.... 2/5
I am having the hardest time with the pronunciation portion. I’m learning Korean and I do understand I don’t have the best pronunciation but it doesn’t even pick up anything I’m trying to say. I have messed with the sensitivity settings and no matter which setting I have it on it doesn’t work. Is it a known issue, is it my iPhone X, or am I just that bad
The app isn't bad. Their billing is horrible. 1/5
You can download the app for free, and even do a lesson. Then it asks you to sign up for a subscription. If you wait a day or so, you get an email with a special offer of $5.99/month. Turns out though, it's not $5.99 a month, it's $147, paid all at once, which gets you a subscription for 24 months. Yes, that comes out to $5.99 a month if you don't understand finance, but it's a lot different if you don't want to pony up that much all at once.
Worse, after the term is up, they'll automatically re-subscribe you at their full price, no discount.
I hate this underhanded method of taking money from anyone who's not paying attention, and a bunch of people are going to pay a LOT of money for something they don't want. It's close to thievery, and it makes Rosetta Stone nearly dishonest.
Speech recognition is useless 1/5
A key claim of the application is the ability to perform speech recognition. This works about 10 percent of the time. The application fails to even recognize there has been speech 80 percent of the time. It seems to go 50/50 as to whether they spoken words are correct. Very disappointed. Would not have purchased the lessons if I knew it was this bad. A ten minute lesson takes at least twenty.
If they could fix the bugs would rate higher 2/5
This is a convenient tool for learning. However, with the price you pay for your subscription they really need to fix the bugs.
App stops responding to your pronunciation frequently and cuts off the mic. This disrupts this learning process and quickly becomes annoying.
Rosetta Stone 5/5
Rosetta Stone is really good it is way better that’s the other language learning apps it doesn’t have health so u can do it all day and u have don’t have a limit u could do as much or little as u want. Also it really helps with the sentences and words and not just the basics so I really love Rosetta Stone
By Brendan ™💯
I was overwhelmed trying to learn Hindi after the first 15 minutes. No introduction to words, meaning or context.
You just start telling my Hindi phrases and to pick a picture.
No instructions on what to do or learning whatsoever.
I purchased a three month online subscription and after less than a week into it I became unable to use it anyone as the app asked me to upgrade to unlock all features and online it stated that I had run out of online time. Absolute waste of money
Great, but needs a few tweaks 4/5
I really love learning a language with this app. I already have a base knowledge of the language I’m learning, so this is great for bringing it all together. I do wish there was a flash card section and it would be great if it gave the user the option to learn more about certain words. Lists for commonly confused words and high frequency words, like pronouns and adjectives, would be great! Other than that, the app is very easy to use and straight forward. Thanks!
Amazing app 5/5
This app is so amazing I use to not know any Spanish and now I know a lot more this app has taught me a lot and I love it.
Great app but... 4/5
This app is fantastic. It definitely helps to learn Japanese. The only issue I really have is that Level 4 and 5 STILL have not been released. There may be a reason for this, but I’m still waiting. Other languages have them- why not a desired language such as Japanese?
Rating THIS IS TERRIBLE 1/5
