Love it😍easy to use lost 30lbs! 5/5
This is a great app for weight loss.
Not helpful 1/5
This app sets you up to count calories and anything you want to know in details you have the purchase a plan to get access and depending on the plan. You may have limited access.
Really helpful 5/5
This really shows me what I am doing wrong in my daily health schedule and sense I am using this app I now know that my “health” schedule wasn’t all that healthy what I’m trying to say is if you haven’t used this if you get it it will be a huge help in a diet
Terrible, would not waste space or time on it 1/5
It’s almost impossible to use because there is only one diet that you can use, which is a high carb low fat diet, which has proven to be less effective and possibly unhealthy. All in all this app is terrible for dieting because you can’t customize it for your needs
Terrible App 1/5
Do not download this! It appears to be in the same platform as my fitness pal which is FREE. This does not allow you remove foods. It indicates that swipe left to do so, but that does not work. Very glitchy. Apple should remove this. Horrible horrible App!
It took over a week a week for them to even contact me. Then when I responded I got a message that they are out for four days because they are celebrating midsummer. Seriously? Is that even a thing? And why do you need to close down a company for four days to celebrate it. Pathetic.
Easy to use! 5/5
I absolutely lovethe app. I upgraded right away and love all of the options. It helps me stay on track of my new keto lifestyle and sends gentle reminders to weigh in and log in what I ate. I cannot say enough. I have not even used all of the options yet, but I will! I lost 12 pounds!🎉
expected more 1/5
I cant find the 3 week plan. I reseted a LOT of times. I wanted to try the subscription, turns out I need to pay for a whole year. I cant make a shopping list. There’s a lot of featuring missing. Movesum just dont work. And the recipes are awful :(
The friendly diet app 5/5
By D Speaks
I like the gently encouraging messages and the calorie counting is great! My first healthy lifestyle app and it’s working great to help me track my intake and exercise.
Should not be subscription based 1/5
By alice and the rabbit
I bought the subscription because I was excited to see they had a ketogenic “plan” but the app doesn’t offer much. There are maybe 20 recipes in each category (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and 80% of the breakfast options are basically just some variation of the same egg dish. Also if you select to view all recipes in a category you can’t back up and return to another category. You have to restart the app.
The “plans” don’t really give you anything except a handful of recipes and the calorie counter has less of a database than the bigger ones. Also, you can’t create shopping lists based on recipes. Or if you can I couldn’t figure it out after thoroughly searching.
I really don’t understand how they justify charging subscription rates while offering so little. 8 fit is a far superior nutrition app.
It’s also super buggy, scrolling freezes or just doesn’t load. I wish I had spent more time on it while I still had the option of a refund.
Great app!!! 5/5
This app is amazing! It helps you lose and gain weight. It is very helpful, while keeping track of your calories. Also, there are no ads and it is free. Very user friendly!
Good app 4/5
It is an easy app and I really like it but I would like the option to put in my own quantities or type of excercise.
Great, but too $$$ 4/5
It's a great app. However, to the get the full benefits, you need to upgrade. The least expensive is $4/5 a month. I think that is way too high for app maintenance. You must pay the full year in advance.
It’s good and has virtually every food I can think of. However the calorie burner and step counter keeps zeroing out. Starting to tick me off, especially since I paid $20+ for this.
New to dieting 5/5
Seems to keep me on track. It’s “attitude” is funny and a cool feature.
Great app horrible customer service 3/5
I love the app it’s self the only complaint I have is that I’ve been unable to sync my Fitbit to the app. It indicates that it is synced however the information is never accurate. I’ve reached out and have even sent an email to tech support but they never bothered addressing my issue or even responding to my email. Great app but horrible customer service.
I love the app, I just wish it had more restaurants and food options for what I actually ate.
Great APP 5/5
Helping with pre-diabetes and weight loss ! Love everything about it. Easy to use and will continue for life!
By karissa Hart
This app helps me stay on track but I don’t know how to update my goal weight but overall it helps me with everything else
This app..... 5/5
This app is AMAZING! I love tracking my food and I am going to try and eat healthier! Even though I am very fit and I can devour everything I would still like to be healthy internally!
Changing prices??? Why? 3/5
By Bella brucie
I think this app is as beautiful as it is functional. That said, I looked at the premium pricing last night, coming in at $34 annually. This morning I go in to purchase and it’s $10 more. Not appreciated.
Great app but the sync to my health data stopped 2/5
iWatch 3 tracking cuts out on the step counter. I’ve reset it several times to restart the counter. No luck. :(
The health data from my iWatch stopped after one day. My iOS is current reset everything but nothing has worked. Already paid :(. I’ll give a higher score after this critical function for a paid app is fixed.
Love it! 5/5
This is so nice to have. I now know how much I should be in taking. Working out is the easy part for me. Food has always been my down fall. This has kept me on track.
Super simple and intuitive 5/5
This is a super simple and intuitive app, and with really nice design. Has a modern user interface. Tried my fitness pal but found this much more pleasant to use. One advantage of my fitness pal is that they have more products added by other users. Fx here in Iceland I was able to find allot of local food brands. One drawback with that though is that the nutritional information might not be as accurate. It really came as a surprise to me how easy it is now to track your calorie í take using apps like these. Highly recommend this app!
Very useful app. Constantly reminding me to log food.
Not counting steps 3/5
The app is having problems synching the steps from the health app. I don’t know how many times I’ve reseted both apps, the settings and deleted and downloaded the app again. None of the calories I burn throughout the day are displayed 🙄
Best app! 5/5
I’ve downloaded about 10 different apps and this is the best! You can easily enter your food and you can easily see your progress! If it wasn’t free I would not think twice in buying it 11/10
i want to get the premium version, but do I have to pay for the whole year in advance? I’d rather just pay every month to see if I even like it.
Great App, But.... 4/5
I’ve been using his app for a while and have been pleased up until recently. I’m noticing that when I try to add food/ingredients to a meal, the app will not update that meal. I created a meal recently and tried to add more ingredients (after the app unexpectedly shut down). After an ingredient was entered, the app wouldn’t let me exit to update the meal. As a result, I haven’t been able to accurately track my meals. A little frustrating, but I’m still keeping the app 😊
Not bad but needs improvement 3/5
Good for keeping track of stats and has a good list of foods. Exercise options are sparse and I haven’t yet figured out if/how I can add foods to the list. They don’t seem to update correctly and the serving sizes are not captured accurately.
Not What I Expected 1/5
The program is pretty but when looking at the Keto diet plan it shows recipes what are not actually keto friendly. I don’t want to eat 25g of carbs in one sitting. It also pushes fruit consumption. Anyone who has researched Keto knows fruit isn’t something you should be eating. Sadly you have to pay the premium subscription before you can test the app. Now I’m out $50 on an app I will never use. Should have a free trial! Has so much potential, just not there yet. I’d love a refund!
By Harriet Paulson
I used to love this app, but the lag on the search function when I try to enter foods has become unbearable. It’s not quick or easy, so I’m switching to My Fitness Pal.
Great but good 3/5
Great for tracking and the diet settings are awesome. Please add a recipe upload - that’s the only request that makes me keep looking for a different app.
Apple Watch issues 3/5
While I adore this app, I find it annoying when it fails to sync with my Apple Watch- there is no manual way and the only “repair” I’ve found is to delete and reload the app. It’s annoying for something I pay a subscription for 😞
Great but... 4/5
I have been an avid MyFitnessPal user for years now and I switched to this mostly because of the aesthetics but I also do like the things you can do with the paid version more then the free version of MFP. My main complaint though with this is that you can’t create food items or input the ingredients for a recipes to create a serving like in MFP. So when I cook something that has many servings I can’t figure out how to track it on here since I can’t easily put 1/16 of a portion of an ingredient I used in the recipe if it has 16 servings. I would really like the ability to create a food by inputting the ingredients to be added especially since I am paying for this app. Thank you
The app will randomly not acknowledge my steps from Health. Don’t know why.
Very nice 5/5
Really cool app!
An Idea 5/5
What if the app on your home screen had the circle actually fill up according to your actual calorie intake. So if I was half way to my calorie count for the circle would be half filled on the front of the app on your home page.
Nutrition facts all wrong 1/5
App is user friendly and easy to navigate but when I was scanning bar codes all the nutrition fact for everything I scanned were wrong. You also can’t adjust the servings. Example: peanut butter 1 serving = 2tbsp but the app was set at 1 serving =1 tbsp and there was no way to change it. Sure you could just change it from 1 serving to 2 but the very few nutrition facts that were actually right would double. It’s not accurate that way and will mess you up! I deleted and went with another app that’s all been accurate. Would try again if this was fixed.
Awesome app. 5/5
Makes counting calories fun and I like this app better in keeping tabs of my macros
Form before function 2/5
I use it for counting calories. It works. But…
This app places form before function. You can tell some graphic designer took the lead and went nuts. (Or a whale investor insisted on “pretty”.)
Things I hate:
- Small, almost illegible gray text (because “small looks cool”).
- Horrible font choice. Use the system font! Pretty sure Apple’s “SF Pro text” which they likely spent millions developing will look better than your home grown font.
- Too many colors that distract you from the task at hand.
- Tough navigation. Where am I? How do I enter my weight? How do I *stop* a goal? Where are my caloric stats? Oh yeah, they’re hidden behind this “cool” animation.
- App doesn’t show you how many calories you’re allowed to eat in a day *after* you’ve started eating them. Just shows you what’s left. Small gripe. But it’s there.
The developers should download the excellent Habitify app (actually so should you) and take copious notes. Large text. Apple 2018 UI standards. Function before form. Still looks beautiful btw. Because it gets out of my way and lets me get done what I want to get done.
Things I love:
- Barcode scanner is insanely fast! I’m amazed every time even in crazy low light conditions.
- They fixed their weight graph and it’s way more legible. (Still has an animation that moves at a snails pace. My gosh they really want you to see how ingenious they are at design. We get it! You can animate! How does that help me?? It doesn’t.)
- App will intelligently remember your meal from yesterday and let you “repeat” it and record it for today. (Although this could use some work. E.g. If you had beans and rice yesterday for lunch, but then today you’re having it for *dinner*, the app won’t suggest it because the meal wasn’t during the same phase of day.)
I’m sure there are other good things. I see so much potential in this app. And I’m likely so hard on it because I want to use it! Also, “Lifesum” is an excellent name. Way better than “My Fitness Pal”. A mom must have named the latter. No offense moms.
You can’t do anything with the free version 3/5
I couldn’t even adjust my own macros without upgrading to premium. That’s the most basic functionality I need out of a fitness app. I can’t properly keep track of what I’m eating with a quick look at the app when the preset daily requirements are so far off.
I was really excited to try this app because it’s the most beautiful software of its class that I’ve ever seen.
But this is a really basic feature that I should have been able to use, and not including that was a huge let down. I’ve never seen this missing from any other fitness app before.
There’s just no reason for me to pay for the app when they don’t meet even my most basic needs with their standard version and they don’t have a trial or anything for me to see if it’s worth it to upgrade to premium.
I understand why premium content like recipes and shopping lists are paid for monthly, but that’s not what a lot of us are after.
If they’re not willing to unlock those really simple features on the standard app, they could at least provide a one-time pay version for a few dollars like many other apps in this category.
As excited as I was, I can’t even try this out without that feature, so I’m uninstalling Lifesum.
Is ok 2/5
Downloaded because of Pinterest ad for Keto diet app. Has said feature but is not part of the free version. I think I’ll stick with my current calorie counting app.
Incorrect data and useless watch app 3/5
After much research, I installed this app and another to track my meals, weight, and exercise. 4 days later I chose to keep the other app, which is disappointing because I liked the look and feel of this app more, so much so even that I was ready to buy a yearly membership.
Lifesum has two main flaws that I couldn’t live with and that the other app didn’t have.
1: nutrition data was often incorrect in food items I was scanning. Sure I could enter the data manually, but that defeats the point. When you report a problem with the data, it takes you to a text box where you have to type the correction. After doing this a few times I decided I was done.
It would be better if they nutrition data was listed in edit mode or if they would allow you to upload a photo of the data. (Yes you can upload a photo of your meal with the subscription service, but if something is incorrect, it should be easy to submit a fix.)
2: the watch app is useless. I don’t even know what the watch app is supposed to do, and that is a problem. The competitor’s app displays an at-a-glance view of my nutrition (gauges and numbers), allows me to quickly tap to enter water and calories, and shows my steps.
It would be better if Lifesum shows similar information. The gauges that Lifesum has on the iPhone app are MUCH better than its competitor.
In summary, this app has a lot of potential, but in its current state (especially with incorrect data for common food items) I can’t use it. :(
Great app 5/5
By la sivora
I’m very inconsistent but this app is the best! It has the scanner which is very helpful when shopping and it’s easy to use
What the f? 1/5
I was under by 600 calories according to their math and it said I was over by 62? Maybe if I bought the premium version the math would work? Bogus and Disappointed we’re already taken as nicknames so I’m not the only one!
Good review 5/5
It helps a lot and I m getting very good results.
Great App, hard to see 4/5
Overall this App is amazing and it makes keeping track of ma daily intake easy. So far it’s been a week and it by far is better than fitness pal.
My only complaint is the type is small and color contrast makes it hard to read. I’ve been using fitness pal back and forty hit help me read the items I can’t on Lifesum. I tried to use the computer but the online version doesn’t do what the app does. Also I entered the wrong weight one day and didn’t realize it til the next day, unfortunately you can’t change the weight once the day is over.
Hoping they will over various colors to pick from and the ability to change weight at any time.
I Like It...! 5/5
Simple! Quick! Accurate!
I really likED this app...huge let down! 2/5
This app was so great before all the updates. All of a sudden the Health App and Lifesum don’t connect. This app is supposed to track your energy and calories burned. It’s so disappointing when you have people subscribing to it and it’s an unreliable service.
Going on two nights of having to try to mess around with trying to get my activity transferred over between the apps.
I already have submitted screen shots and details prior to the upgrade when it first stopped working. Back to square one. I will no longer continue to pay for a service I am not receiving.
Great App but... 5/5
I love the app and have been using it for sometime. I just wish we could still choose our own plan while using free but have to pay for access to recipes and other things in the plan. The app also doesn’t accurately track my step telling me I had 0 when my phone said I had 10,000. I wish we could connect it to other apps so it could be more accurate but otherwise great app
