This app is perfect for beginners, who are learning letters and letter sounds. It helps kids form simple words.
Great App 5/5

Great educational app for my 4-year old.
Update other apps for iOS 7 5/5
We really like this app, but have outgrown it and would like to see sight words, three letter paid version, and four letter words updated for iOS 7. I hope you can do this soon.
Grasshopper apps are the best! Awesome for kids with autism. 5/5
I get all of the Grasshopper apps, because they've taught my child with autism things I'd been trying to teach her for years. Would be great for any child trying to learn new words, or having trouble spelling.
Super app! 5/5
My grandson has recently shown an interest in putting letters together to form words, so this couldn't have come at a better time! He loves it!
Great great great!!!!! 5/5
This is wonderful!
Customize with your own voice! 5/5
By Bleeding Ears 2
I especially like that I can record my voice instead of the generic voice. For example, every time Levi has an "L" my voice says "L like in Levi" and all the reward sounds are fun and animated and meaningful to him in a voice he knows and loves.
Great app! 5/5
What a great tool! We are using every week to help with kids spelling words.
Great app 5/5
Excellent helper for phonics study and early reading!
Little speller 5/5
The best, my three year old is spelling.
This is an awesome app for beginning and struggling spellers. The photos help children associate the images and words.
Not phonemic 3/5
Nice app, but would give it 5 stars if it gave u the option of saying the letter sounds instead of the names. Phonemic awareness is a precursor of reading, knowing the letter sounds is key.
Love it 5/5
Love the app. Really helps the kiddos and its fun for them
Fun and educational 5/5
Great app! My 3 and 5 year old love it! They play all the time....during their fun iPhone time and learning iPhone time. Great way to introduce reading and spelling. Fun pics and good variety. One suggestion is to do rhyming words on order so kids can learn that for rhyming words you only change the first letter. Makes it easier to learn lots of words.

This app is very simple and clean and does a great job. It has many options to customize the game. However, I do wish it had the option to turn off the letters in the boxes where you put the letter blocks. In other words, it would be great to have the word picture, audible voice prompt, scrambled letter blocks and BLANK SPACES WHERE YOU PUT THE LETTER BLOCKS. This would give another level of difficulty and opportunity for learning.
I love that you can customize it. My son loves it and he is learning.

I love this app, it helps my kids with their learning to read.

Love this! 5/5
I teach k and I love all the options available in this app. I like how I can customize it for each student. Thanks and keep making great apps for kids!

I absolutely love this app for one of my students with Autism. I can make custom lists just for him. Fantastic.
Needs letter sounds when dragging into place. 3/5
By Kinder crew
I like the concept but does the creator know basic reading strategies for young readers. They read the sounds of letters, not the letter names. Google phonemic awareness!
Add letter sounds 4/5
After the word and picture are presented, it would be very beneficial if the letter sounds were produced, not just the letter name. This really pairs the phonics skills needed for reading.
Like this app. Only wish it gave letter sound as well.
I use this app with my special education kids and they play it as a game and learn in the process!
Little Speller - 3 Letter Words 5/5
By Little Speller
I love it!
Love it 4/5
This is a great app
Great app 5/5
Love this app! I wish it came with letter sounds preprogrammed rather than letter names, but I can easily edit the sounds to make the app do this.
Love this APP! 5/5
Easy to use and customizable!!
Thank you! 5/5

I like that it's customizable. My nine month old enjoys playing with it.
A good little letter matching game 4/5
By Listen while running
Similar to First Words by Learning touch. Some of the sounds and the rate at which they are given overlap each other during the play. Also when the letters spell out the word and hop out of their soot, they don't always hop back in. Overall a good pre school and K level app.
Little Speller 4/5
Great program but I would recommend using sounds (without the schwa sound) rather than letters as kids need to develop their sound sense before their letters.

Very nice app my kids enjoy it
Great app! 5/5
This is a terrific teaching tool!! The pictures are sharp, clear, and uncluttered. The hints and sounds that I can turn off and on make it easily customizable for different levels/children. The only improvement I would suggest is to have an edit where you could put in the sounds the letters make as the word is respelled. Perhaps it's there already and I just couldn't figure it out.
Great app 4/5
I am a teacher of students' with multiple impairments. This will be great for a couple of them. Thanks for making it free for a time.
I would love to have the option to hear the letter sounds as you spell the word instead of the letter name. Other than that, I like it.

I love that you can match the letters for preschool children and modify it for children beyond preschool. I can also use this app for the children that I work with who are very motivated by letters. The pictures are not distracting and there are useless songs . Will recommend to other parents and professionals in my field.
I'm a teacher and this works great with my first graders. It's another way for them to learn not just using paper and pencil. They love it and it makes me happy to see them like learning. I love this app thank you Little Speller.!
Some of the pictures that they choose to go with the words aren't really the best choices. For instance, the word cot is paired with a picture of a crib, the word 'can' is paired with a soda can. Also, it would be nice if they sounded out each letter as it is being selected and when saying the word.
Little Speller 5/5
I think this will work well with my first graders. I needed to turn off the letters so that it did not show how to spell the word at the bottom. It will be fun to customize it with their spelling words.
Kinder Teacher 5/5
Love it! The customization feature makes it superb!
Cool kid friendly app 4/5
Crisp graphical interface
Tested great with my 2+ LO
Bug: some letter display appeared to be stacked out of order
Suggestion: provide option to sound off the phonic
This is great for my kindergartner who is learning to read. I would give it five stars if it did letter sounds to help learn to sound out words. Great for free though n
This app is great! My daughter loves it, and never wants to put it down. She is not only learning to spell but to read also!
Fabulous app 5/5
By No nickname2345
Even my students with intellectual disabilities can learn to spell! Customizable...awesome!
Excellent starter ap 5/5
This app is easy for my nephew to use and still allows him to practice his letters as he learns to spell.
B sounds like V 2/5
I like this app, except when the voice says "B", it sounds more like "V". This could be confusing for kids just learning letters!
