This App is absolutely terrible! 1/5
I tried to use this app to check in and send a note that I would not arrive until after midnight- used chat to try to confirm my info about my arrival was received. Chat terribly slow. Representative said I WAS NOT CHECKED IN. Called hotel - they say I am not checked in. I keep getting alerts saying I have a message from hotel but no where on app can I see any place for messages. Help for app is just a bunch of content- AArrgh!!!!

I changed my password online, but when I try to sign in to the app it says, Internet Appears Offline. I change the app in Setting to use Cellular to connect - try to login again, same message, and now the app Setting for Cellular use have been switched Off again. Repeat; same result. Rubbish!
I absolutely love the app but to wait 11 business days to get my points is ridiculous. Sometimes I have to call up to get them.

Having traveled around the country on military orders, this is the best Marriott Courtyard, or any Marriott hotel, we have ever stayed at!!! Absolutely fabulous Presidential Suite with wet bar and separated rooms. I have already booked my next stay!

The hotel search and reservation process is awesome. It is extremely easy to find the best hotel for your requirements. It allows you to easily select the payment process (ie points or money). It is also easy to select preferences. All the important hotel details are displayed. This is one the best apps I have ever used for travel purposes.

I’ve used this app for years as a Marriott member and have enjoyed it (even before the Bonvoy update). Although, the showing of prices, initially, as the prepaid options only is a bit misleading when seeing afterwards what the actual prices are for reserving without prepaying.

App gets the job done better than most. Only complaint is I wish there was just a bit more info about the rooms including photos. Otherwise you can do everything you would want to do - browse, browse without dates (underrated feature), browse by payment category (like pay with Bonvoy points), book, maps, directions, contact info, amenities, etc. Solid app overall.

First of all, the app is great and I use it all the time for nearly all of my lodging arrangements. Unfortunately someone came up with this Bonvoy idea. Can you just rename the Marriott app to something related to Marriott? I feel slightly annoyed every time I see the icon and app title. Thanks.

I use the Marriott app a lot as it is my preferred hotel chain. I just found a new feature that really impresses me; when I used mobile check in, there was a link for hotel directions, and that offered to open the directions in Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze. I appreciate both the function of giving directions and that it doesn’t default to Apple Maps.
Buggy again, can’t book online 1/5
I would have hoped they fixed all the bugs by now. But just today I responded to a 20% off on weekends ad. Typed my check in and out dates, and then the calendar that popped out won’t disappear no matter what I did, so I could not proceed as all the remaining buttons were under the calendar. The check in and check out dates were selected but the pop out calendar won’t go away. I closed and tried several times with the same result. It used to be an amazing app before they totally messed it up during the merger. Sad.

Beware- app default is pre-paid, non-refundable rate 1/5
I booked a refundable rate through the Bonvoy app and then changed my dates of travel. It automatically changed my rate to non-refundable without providing any indication of the change. I paid $800 for a room I cancelled and Marriott refused to provide a refund. I have been a loyal Marriott customer but Marriott is more concerned with making a quick profit than keeping loyal customers. Do not use this app unless you want a pre-pay non-refundable rate.

An improvement over the last app version.
Wish I could filter my hotel searches based on room type. When traveling with my family, I want a room with two queen beds in it. Not all of your brands support that configuration.
It would be soooo nice to be able to apply a filter on the map view so I only see hotels along my route that have two queen beds and have availability. That would save me immense amounts of time!!!
Advance checkin - not so helpful. Even if I do it more than an hour in advance of my arrival, room is often not ready.
Using it to send requests to hotel staff - worthless. They don’t monitor it frequently enough to provide acceptable response time. Picking up the phone and calling the front desk is the way to go. Probably not what you intended...
