Great app 4/5
This app is extremely useful and has already helped me in just a few days to be on a schedule and remember all my meds, even the ones I often forget (especially inhalers, nasal sprays, and supplements).
There is one thing I would like to do that I can’t seem to find a way to do:
I need to be able to edit the time I take a med. Sometimes I snooze the alarm, take my meds two or three minutes later, but then do not mark them as taken until 15 minutes later or so. Or I might take a meds a little early, but when I mark “take” on the scheduled dose, it automatically chooses the scheduled time, and I can’t edit it to the early time. Is there a way around that or can it be added as an option?

After my husbands open heart surgery there were a lot of medications for him to take at specific times and for custom durations! This app took my moment of feeling over whelmed and made it into my moment of power helping me to feel confident in my ability to make sure he was cared for properly! Thank you!
Just what I needed! 5/5
I have to start taking this medication once a week and there is no way I would have remembered if it wasn’t for this app.
Great app, but a pain in the butt to put in multiple doses at once 4/5
I absolutely LOVE the Medisafe app and I use it exclusively to manage my medications. I have about 30+ medications that I have to keep track of due to a host of medical conditions. Medisafe is great because I can see the actually shape and color of my medications, and the visual reminder helps me. I also love that it gives me multiple reminders to take my medications, rather than just one.
Since my health is so complicated, sometimes I have trouble handling my medications. The medfriend option is awesome for this. My husband has it and can easily know if I’ve accidentally skipped a dose or something similar. I am disappointed that he can’t have more control over my dosing though. Often time I am far too sick to add rescue medications into the app myself so I hand him my phone to do it, but I wish he could just add it himself on his phone, with my permission. As helpful as it is for him to be able to see my medications, it would be ten times more helpful if he was capable of interacting with them.
In regards to adding medications, I do have one request for the team working on this app. PLEASE add in a feature that allows you to select and add multiple medications at once! I have a medical condition that is episodic and when I begin to go into an episode I often have to take 5+ different rescue medications. Adding these in one by one is exhausting, time consuming, and difficult for someone who is already struggling with cognitive function. I really need to be able to select the dosage and time of multiple meds without having to painstakingly add each individual rescue medication.
Ultimately, Medisafe has been a God send, my doctors regularly compliment me on how good I am at keeping track of my medication and it’s all thanks to this app. It’s missing some features that could help it better serve complex patients like myself, but it’s not unusable because of that. It also really minimizes accidental med mix ups thanks to its visual way of showing medication appearances.
I don’t see myself ever using a different app other than Medisafe. It has everything I need and then some. I would recommend if fo anybody with complex help who needs an app that does more than just remind you to take your pills.
Helped so much in 3 days. 5/5
This has helped me so much in just three days. The reminders for having to take pills at various times during the day this has become a life saver. Best app I have had ever!
Great app 5/5
Been using this app for years and it’s a great app. Very easy to use and helps me a lot I have a lot of medical issues that requires taking different medications at different times so the remind is very helpful.
Easy to use, reliable & convenient 5/5
I've tried other medical tracking apps but Medisafe is my #1 choice! I take a lot of medications at all different times of the day. My afternoon medication times are typically when I am out and about so when I hear the chime go off I know its time to take my meds. I only miss doses if I don't have my phone on me. It has been a life saver! If I don't take some of my meds I definitely suffer. Medisafe has been so helpful. I had a very pleasant experience with Brian at customer service. I had used the free version for about 4 months. I recently became a BCBS medicare member and one of the benefits of their Blue365 program is that its free to upgrade to the premium version of the app. I did have to create an entirely new account but he spent a long time with me troubleshooting until we could make sure there was an email account associated with the medisafe account. He was so nice and thorough. I highly recommend Medisafe, both for the app and their customer service!!!!

It does keep reminding you to take your med, it rings once or twice then not again until hours later when it’s hours past the time your supposed to take it
Works fine on iPhone, but not on iPad 4/5
The functionality is fine but apparently the app was not designed for use on the iPad (I.e., no landscape mode available). Please let me know if there are any plans to update the app for use on iPad.
Great app. Please add Swedish language
Last update has caused app to no longer work UPDATED 3/5
The last update for the app has caused it to open no further than the initial blue splash screen with the logo in the center.
Hoping I haven’t lost all my medication history or the special times etc that I had set up.
Review updated as issue has resolved with another update.
App is still clumsy in some areas. It would be nice to suspend a medication that was set for a limited number of days (antibiotic or pre test medication) temporarily and then restart it with a new start date
Great reminder app for your meds! 4/5
I injured my back several months ago, and I’ve been prescribed a host of rx in an effort by my providers and specialists alike to manage the pain until I can get back to 100%. Unfortunately, when you’re taking several different meds that all have the ability to make you sleepy, as well as the ability to give you “brain fog,” sometimes you find yourself actually stopping with your hand midway to your mouth, wondering, “wait...did I already take this?” Because I want to make sure I am always taking my meds as intended, and do not want to accidentally overdose, I googled “best medicine tracker apps 2019” and this was one of the first ones mentioned in the article I read. I immediately downloaded it, and have been very impressed with its functionality and the ease of use. My only wish if I could add one thing to make it even better: instead of the very soft “pills in a bottle” shaker sound it gives when it’s time to take your meds, I wish it would use something a bit louder and maybe a tad more obnoxious to get my attention. Maybe not something as bad as, “hey stupid, you need to take your pills...” but perhaps one of the preprogrammed sounds iPhones already have that we use for reminders, emails, text messages, etc. In any event, it’s still a great app for tracking what time you took something, and exactly which dose you took. Definitely recommend.
Beautiful interface, but inconsistent notifications 3/5
I love the way this app looks, all the features, and how notifications integrate with my Apple Watch. However, some days the app just forgets to notify me to take my medication! No alert, no notification, no app badge. I have to manually open the app and then it starts reminding me again. I’ve re-downloaded the app a few times now, and still it hasn’t resolved this. Bummer.
We use this app for our teens we (unfortunately) have many pills throughout the day. It is SO helpful to us for them to be reminded and for me (a their Medifriend) to know if they took meds when they are not with me (ie at school). (For those wondering, I did have to pretend they are 18yo to register them. But I needed them to be fully responsible for their meds and not my dependent).
A couple of requests for the developers -
1. Could the reminder on the (iPhone) lock screen name the med that needs to be taken? That is part of our confusion. Our son remembers he is to take something - but which one is the struggle. And it’s good to be able to glance at the lock screen and not have to open the app)
2. Is there a way for the Medifriend (love this feature!!) to be notified if the “patient” has taken their meds after they forgot? I get a reminder they forgot - but do not know if they ever remembered w/o opening the app.
Another idea here is to alert the Medifriend when “patient” takes their pills - whether on time or not. I just want to know!
3. We have worked around this need - my kids take a handful of supplements that are already pre-dosed in a daily pill box. We have entered each of these “as needed” and then created a fake med called “supps” for which they are reminded. They do not want to be reminded about ALL they have to take, as they are already pre-dosed, just need to remember to get to the pill box. Our suggestion would be to be able to lump multiple pills into a single dose.
Thank you! Thank you!
No option for 1/2 pill 1/5
I have a med that requires 1 and 1/2 pills. No option for that.
Very Good 4/5
Takes too long to open App 2/5
95% of the times you open the app is to record that you have taken your meds and you just want to do that quickly and go on, yet the app is very slow to open making its overall use vey annoying.
Great app 5/5
Pill Reminder 5/5
This app is so easy to use and perfect to help keep you and your medicine on track. I don’t know what I would do without it.
By Arminna Matt
I’m not usually one to sit down and write a review, but I would absolutely love more people to hear about Medisafe! Someone I was in the hospital with recommended this app from her own personal experience and I was a bit skeptical, but interested. I’ve had a long history of forgetting to take meds so bad that I’ll be off the stuff for over a year or two (very bad, I know). Friends and family would try to help and encourage me to take my medication, but I always had some sort of excuse or just got grouchy with the person trying to help. Medisafe exceeded my expectation by a landslide. With it’s repeated reminders every ten minutes or so and the cute little picture of the beach you get when you log your dose, it feels helpful and also a bit rewarding with this app. I have been consistently taking my medication now for two and half months 100% adherence since downloading Medisafe. And I feel so much better due to taking my medication, too. This app is a literal lifesaver. I will always be recommending this app to anyone who takes medication and has a problem remembering, thank you!
Excellent product! 5/5
I originally used a different product but was not happy with it. I googled and found Medisafe and saw its high ratings. I immediately downloaded it and have been satisfied ever since. For example I like its vast database of medications that facilitate prescription setup and provide understanding of side effects and drug interactions. And even when the audio notifications mysteriously stopped working, Brian in Tech Support walked me through the steps to fix it. I call it Genuine, “old-fashioned” customer service and right in downtown Boston, not outsourced on the other side of the world. I highly recommend Medisafe!
Very helpful 5/5
I was looking for an app to track my INR, and this app has that option, but it’s great for tracking my medicines also. Really happy with most of the functionality. It’s doing everything I need the app to do.
Great App! I’ll keep using 5/5
Definitely helped me stay on track while taking multiple medicines for an extended period of time!!
Ok, but Still too Rigid 3/5
Wish app provided for flexibility such as changing past information (time meds were taken) due to time zone differences.
Will be waiting for next update.
By Bob Goldman
I have been using this program for about a 2 months. I find it extremely helpful in taking my medication and reminding me of my appointments.
Medisafe Medication Management 5/5
Recently being diagnosed with Lymphoma, and doing chemo, needed something to help keep track of all the Meds and vitals.
At first was a little confusing but after working with it and reading the help and support guides, I have found it to meet my needs. Contacted support via email and had a response within an hour, great app and support highly recommended
Great App at Managing Meds 5/5
I used Round for about 3 years. Then discovered Medisafe. I ran both apps back to back for a few days to see which one I preferred. Ultimately I ditched Round. I have not paid for the premium version, because the standard works just fine for me. I feel as though Medisafe gives you more control and management of inventory of the scripts.
Exactly what I wanted 5/5
I tend to get side tracked about taking my medications and supplements. I’ve spent too much time wondering if I actually took them and then fearing taking them twice ended up not taking them at all. This app has changed that cycle for me. The reminders come up with an attention getting tone and the best part is if I’m busy or ignore the first one they continue at an interval until I open the app and press one of the taken/snooze options. There is no way for me to miss a dose unless I actively try to.
Additionally I’m really impressed with the potential drug interactions feature. As I was adding my meds and supplements an alert came up right away with a full explanation of why two of them shouldn’t be taken together. Thats a safety feature that was a surprise but really helpful.
The biggest bonus is that the app works with my Apple Watch which honestly is the reason I chose this one in the first place. Even if my phone is somewhere else the alerts continually come up on my watch keeping me on track.
Could you possibly make it slower to open 1/5
I like this app, but it has gotten to be soooo slow in opening. 30+ seconds to open a simple dB related app is just ridiculous.
Let’s please get this thing fixed ASAP.
Reduced to 1 star. Every morning the first app I open is for my meds and it takes an extra 30 seconds to open the first time. If it can open second and third time right after that, then the first time should be able to also. It seems like it’s calling home at least once a day to confirm or activate, however no matter what, with and without internet, it takes long time first time every day. There are times way later in the day it does this also....why???????
Was good, now not so much 1/5
Loved it for years, now it won’t remind me and I keep missing pills
Totally recommend 5/5
Have been using since Jan 2018, I haven’t had any problems with it! It’s no nonsense, but is able to personalized for all your needs. Kept me on track for a year and a half and counting!
Pill count 4/5
By Tanner Nicodemus
Not accurately keeping track of medications. I’ll have 3 or 4 less than what the app is telling me that I have. Not a huge thing but it’s throwing me off of when I need to refill my medications
Need more alert options 3/5
I like the ease of this app, but I would like to see more alert options that are not tied into the premium version that you pay for. And the alerts need to be more aggressive. Slightly more obnoxious so we hear them over our busy lives.
Good app 3/5
The last review I said the update messed up where it wouldn’t save status. Seems all fine now. Maybe restarting phone fixed it.
The last update messed up something. I used to get a 1 or 2 bubble in the alert showing whether I had to take 1 med or 2. Now it’s always a 1. Hope they can fix this.
Great app! 5/5
I’m currently taking six pills a day on two different schedules and this app is a lifesaver for me! It helps me remember what to take and when and I couldn’t have asked for a better built and useful app.
Not bad but still could be improved for the “modern day” pill taker 4/5
Very comprehensive meds library and color/shape icons. Main reason I use it is support for Apple Watch to log meds without picking up your iPhone. The Apple Watch support alone is a knockout criteria for me in selecting one of these pill tracker apps: you don’t have it, I don’t use you. But it could use some updates, including:
* Better reporting. Currently, reports do not show the dosage you took. E. g., if you take a half of a pill, which they DO support logging, the report does not show this. This is required to calculate your average dose taken for “as needed” meds, which doctors are increasingly requiring you to tell them.
* Allow at least two day view on the Apple Watch for meds taken. If you take meds during the night, as needed, you cannot see what you took after midnight. You have to pick up your iPhone. Also add full display of the dose you took as well on that list. E. G., if you took one-half of a 10mg pill, it should at least show you took 0.5 of 10mg of that med.
Functional but slow app 4/5
By Note Taker
For what the app does—tracking and reminding—it does well. My biggest complaint is that the app is slow. It can take 6 to 10 seconds from the moment I tap a notification to the completion of the animation for logging.
Love it 5/5
I recently injured my neck and have been on lots of meds and physical therapy to manage the pain and heal. I’ve never had to take this many meds before, at different times of the day, and this app makes it so easy. Especially since I can customize the look of each medication so it makes it even easier to just visually tell what is needed when.
I’ve also been able to use the “measurements” section to track my pain level, which is so helpful.
From Overwhelmed To Overcome with Joy 5/5
By worst app in usa
Took husband home from hospital and was immediately overwhelmed with all the prescriptions, dosages, interactions and time schedules. I missed giving one medicine on time which caused him extremely painful muscle spasms. I guess it was a cry out to my Lord which led me to this App. I can sleep soundly for a few hours before the alarm goes off for each individual RX. I am be tired but I am overcome with joy and blessings from having found this app. Praising God!
Intermittent and lost history 3/5
Occasionally the reminders to do come on but more bothersome is that when I went back at looked at history it recorded many missed meds that I know I recorded as taken. iPhone SE
Cool app, but “Take” option doesn’t work on my Apple Watch 4 3/5
I’ve been using the application for a long time and everything was great until I bought apple watch 4. I get notifications on my watch, click “Take”, but nothing happens on the phone and it looks like it's just ignored. So I’m getting the notification again and again until use “Take” option on my phone.
Amazing app, so thankful 5/5
By kasey e h
Just an honestly amazing app. So user friendly, it’s more than just a MAR (med administration record). There’s a diary where you can: (I like bullet points lol)
*record vitals like BP and heart rate
*check for drug interactions etc,
export your MAR into an Excel spreadsheet, and even email it.
*track appointments and keep doctor info handy.
As a healthcare worker, I recommend the Medisafe app to patients and friends. I appreciate the detail and thought that went into this app, because I was having trouble remembering my own meds.
If the developer reads this, thank you so much. This app has really helped me track my health and meds over the last few months.
If you need a spokesperson or an influencer if that’s a thing, please respond and let me know! Haha. Thanks again.
Helpful it’s great to just have your medication list right there with the definition of why you’re taking it 🙌🏾
Great for long term and short term meds 5/5
I take several meds long term and have to take short term meds for flare ups of certain conditions. Those short term ones are harder to remember so this app has helped me keep track and not forget. I also really love the customization of what meds look like and the ability to control start and end dates.
Useful app but.... 3/5
The app is useful, it’s easy to setup and works well. My only problem is that launching the app seems to take forever - there’s a blue screen with the Medisafe ‘pill’ logo for around 5 seconds before the actual amp loads. While 5 seconds isn’t a lot of time it becomes tedious when you have multiple medications that need to be taken 20 mins apart. That wait gets old fast. If the devs could get rid of that delay it’d make the app a whole lot more friendly.
Pretty useful 5/5
I wish the app had a timer for “as needed” medication so that you could know when you’re able to take it again. I have really bad short term memory so it would help a lot because I often forget the last time I take meds and it would help stop me from accidentally taking too much too soon.
Horrible timezone handling! 1/5
UPDATE - 2019-07-11:
It has been months and zero changes have been made to time zone management. I just landed and the app crashed 5 times and suspended (removed) every medication from my daily agenda. As someone that uses the suspend function for some meds I now need to go through every single pill and figure out if it needs to be resumed. I've read the other excuses/fixes, it is a joke. This piece of crap is useless.
It is like the developer assumes that nobody travels between timezones. When switching in the app the whole thing crashes, each time, then when you finally get back into the app meds are missing and times are in neither timezones (starting or destination.)
The app is completely useless for anybody that travels even once and relies on accuracy in pill tracking.
All is well again. 5/5
I was having some update notification issues that were addressed quickly and solved with an update. Customer service is very prompt and helpful. At this time I’m not a premium user. The features are not needed yet. When that day comes I will pop for the reasonable fee.
This was the second app that I tried for my Med reminders. This is far better than the previous one I was using.
Latest update 3/5
The latest update seems to have disabled the med reminder I had set, and I forgot to take a dose of medication. Not cool, Medisafe. I rely on this app to remind me to take evening meds.
