Please fix 1/5
I like this app a lot, it’s my go to. But ever since the update it crashes every time I try to use it. Please fix it!
New Intrusive ads 1/5
I don’t know when this changed, but when using the app the ads, which had previously been fairly non-intrusive, now pop-up and cover the screen whenever I visit a new page or topic. This is very annoying and I’m not happy with the change! I have been using Medscape for years as a quick, reliable medical reference and this change is very noticeable and very unwelcome and I may have to find another pocket reference.
A bit of bug maintenance overdue 2/5
I tapped on developer support instead of writing a review because reviews are sometimes unfair, but the link didn’t work. The reason I am trying to reach the developer is because the notifications are currently worthless. When you click them and it brings you to the MEDSCAPE app, it never brings you to the story/info from the notification. Those notifications are what interest the readers and remind that the MEDSCAPE app exists and they. have been broken for quite a while.
After this last update, the app keeps crashing and i tried following the link for app support but it says “no website found”. I love this app, hope they fix it!!!
The newest update is truly horrible. I can’t even search drugs by name. This is the primary function of this application for me.
UnExpected quit 1/5
Plz update the app for the unexpectedly exit
Dr GB 1/5
No longer has all the previous medications by class.
Also crashes with use. Current update much less reliable
Clinical Practice Guidelines don’t load in latest update! 3/5
I want to be clear 3/5
I am like this app a lot, but there are some things that are holding me back from using it daily. In my previous review I mentioned that there was no way to send articles via text message and there was no way to save articles for later. A developer responded that there was a way to save articles for later, which is true except in certain circumstances. If you search for an article or click on any article after opening the app, you can save it for later. However, if you get push notification about a story that you might like and you click on it, it does not give you the option to save it for later. I would use this app much more frequently if these two features were in it. I currently almost don’t use it at all because I can’t share through text message. Other than that it’s a great resource and I hope it continues to improve in the future
not as good 1/5
Why is this a news app now? Much preferred the previous version.
Love it BUT 3/5
Great app but it loses my sign in code which is a real pain!
Love It!! 5/5
I love the new UI of the app. Very clean, organized and more customizable!
Long Time Invaluable Resource 4/5
After 15 years as a Mental Health Clinically Designated Interventionist I returned to 4 years of Nursing school. Now, 10 years later, my professional focus has shifted but not my ‘go to’ resource! Medscape has remained an invaluable resource for both maintaining CEU as well as cogent and valuable contemporary research articles. Research presentations are so well vetted that they can be shared with colleagues as well as patient/clients. Thanks Medscape for being a long term friend
Conflicting information? 4/5
In general, I like this as a drug reference, especially because I can look up supplements and OTCs as well as rx meds. However, I used it a couple days ago to check for any drug interactions between rivaroxaban and glucosamine/Chondroitin. The app reported no interactions found. Fast forward one day, and there is a published article on Medscape warning of drug interactions between prescription medications and OTC supplements. And what do you know, one of the examples is that glucosamine/Chondroitin taken with rivaroxaban increases risk of bleeding.
There’s obviously disparity between what your app is reporting and what your published article on your website report says. It certainly doesn’t boost confidence in using your app to check for drug interactions with patients.
Once great, now mediocre 2/5
There has been a steady decline in the quality of this app. Once a stellar resource for medications it is now riddled with problems. Frequently unresponsive with occasional crashes it also takes a long time to load and actually use. There is also the relatively new issue of ads in the last 1-2 years. While the content remains good regarding its pharmacopoeia, the app is unusable. Will shift to uptodate and DynaMed in its place.
Medical Rotations Life Saver 5/5
By Asst. to the Regional Manager
As an MS-3 on the cusp of wrapping up my third year, I have to say this was my GO TO reference source for clinical rotations. A lot of people will say resources like UpToDate and Epocrates are the gold standards, and while they are incredible, neither possesses the ease of use, scope of information, or clinical tools that this app has. I have a paid subscription to those other sources through my school, but this is essentially the only reference I use and it’s completely free for anyone. I would 100% recommend this app to anyone and you better believe I won’t be without it next year, as a resident, or as an attending.
Videos pop up randomly 1/5
By Steven PA-C
This app is now useless with the update. I shouldn’t have updated. Now I have random video commercials pop up while I’m reading at work. Great. I’m working in the ED and use this as a quick resource and now have to jump through annoying videos. I will switch to PEPID
this app is a memory hog 1/5
memory hog app size becomes huge no way to clear cache except to remove and un install became largest size on ipad poor design
Offensive descriptors 1/5
I am really disappointed in this company. I was looking up a medication and under warnings it says “less effective in blacks”. Really?! That’s how you are going to word it Medscape? I find it highly inappropriate, offensive and they need to do better.
Keeps crashing 2/5
Keeps crashing after latest update
After years continued intrusive ads 3/5
After years of using this the new info from industry pops up several times when I need prescribing info. Ads are distracting and cause problems. Medscape needs to fix this.
This app used to be great for quick references. Sadly, this app now fills your inbox with very biased politically slanted emails. When I attempted to get ahold of the developer or anyone from its service regarding this (because THEY WOULDN'T STOP EVEN AFTER I UNSUBSCRIBED!!!), nobody ever responded. This is UNETHICAL to say the very least and far from professional. Regardless of political view, nobody wants it in the work place, ESPECIALLY in the medical profession.
BOTTOMLINE: because this app is now something else than it claims to be, it continues emails and WONT DELETE ACCOUNT, and THERE IS ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS APP - ESPECIALLY TO THE Medically-minded.
Search suggestions 5/5
I cant find suggestions in search bar
I love this app better than the others on the same category.
I what is ultimately gonna be the reason I delete the app is saved clinical reference articles are not save by account. Then what's the point of logging in.
It's just too much of a hassle to search for them one by one on a new device.
Informative and easy to use 5/5
By Fruitpunch ninja
Has pretty much everything I need, from drug information, formulary (although seems incomplete for some drugs), to disease overview/treatment. Also very impressed that you can connect to dose calculator directly from drug dosing. I’m very glad that I found this app now that I don’t have free access to lexicomp or uptodate as a student.
Get rid of annoying ads or I will uninstall 1/5
I completelysecond the opinion of the other writer. What is even more annoying is the contamination of other non-medscape apps with medscape ads. In particular, I am seeing entirely too many ads of a Dr Margulis. I have nothing against her personally, but this is too much. I will delete medscape if you cannot fix this problem.
Usefulness of the app has suffered greatly 2/5
1. The app has been valuable because of accurate and extensive information. But the app cannot be used efficiently with the presence of excessive and advertising.
2. The app presented valuable information quickly to both lay users and medical professionals. With the hands, the app seems unprofessional and could easily be taken by Lee persons as a website primarily intended to sell medical products. You have greatly cheapens the app.
3. If you need to monetize the app, then consider an ad free version that professionals in the interested lake people could pay a reasonable fee for as an in app purchase.
People should stop whining! 5/5
I have used MANY apps and this is one of the best.
If there is subscription, people complaint. If there is Ad, people complaint. So how do they make money while you are making money by using the app? C’mon people, nothing is free.
Medscape is great in a way to keep it free and accessible for all of you “health care professionals”. If you want subscriptions, buy lexicomp.
Message to the developers, thanks for making it an helpful app and Free. I am pretty sure alot of people dont mind the ads as long as it not too distracting.
My medscape application hasn't been working properly lately, it wont bring up the drugs i search in it and it wont update, id be happy if you could help out. Thanx
There is no choice for ent in specialist !!!
Ads make hard to use! 3/5
Ads pop up in the middle of articles, this makes it very hard to read. 5 of 5 without ads.
I haven’t used the app long enough to fully review yet, but immediately noticed that’s there’s no ability to personalize, save info, add notes, etc., which would be VERY useful.
Problem with internet connection 2/5
By dr hussein 1997
From 3 days ago medscape doesn’t search for drugs that isn’t exist in offline data , i think there is problem in my internet connection the i replaced the internet connection and uninstall the app and downloaded it again the app doesn’t open and there is a message “ internet connection is required to install “ please solve this problem because medscape is my fav app
Ads are getting intrusive 2/5
I am in ER physician, Having used the Medscape app exclusively for over a decade. It is my go to app for looking up critical medicines and doses in a fast-paced ER. I don’t want to be distracted relentlessly with ads, which I have noticed recently. I know developers need to make $$$, but I need to not be distracted and need efficient information without a massive ad for Tide detergent at the bottom of my lamotrigine drug page...
Ads are too much 2/5
Great resource historically. Recent addition of pop-up ads every time you scroll makes it almost unusable.
Wonderful app...destroyed by ad barrage 3/5
I love this app, i have used it almost every day in clinical and hospital situations. It is updated daily and provides accurate information.
The only con to this app is the near constant barrage of ads when you are trying to actually read the wonderful information contained within.
Every time you scroll to read the next paragraph blam you are hit with another bit of advertisement for some medication...
Unable to update 1/5
By Peeved in Mequon
Just spins for hours. Perhaps iOS 12? Very frustrating.
Ads are ridiculous 1/5
Honestly I can’t even read a single section without the ads popping up between text or taking over the whole page. I’ve used medscape for years and I didn’t mind the one or two ads here or there but this is downright obnoxious and makes the app unusable.
Either make an affordable ad-free version (not a subscription) or reduce the intrusive ads. Please. For the sake of healthcare providers who use this, don’t make me switch to a different source.
Garbage ads 1/5
The app has become complete garbage. It’s impossible to scroll through any information because new ads pop up and appear out of nowhere. Advertising is one thing, but this makes your product unusable.
Ads are ridiculous!! 2/5
I love Medscape; it’s a great resource at my fingertips. Lately, however, I can’t read one sentence without having ads insert themselves directly into the text I’m trying to read. Getting information is much more time consuming, trying to re-find the spot where I was reading because the ads move the text! This must be resolved or I will have to find another resource.
Ads completely distracting 1/5
Used medscape for years. Now extremely frustrating to use. Ads pop up every 3-5 seconds and actually disrupt scrolling/reading. I am deleting the app.
Ads have become completely intrusive. 2/5
I used Medscape throughout medical school and it quickly became my go to resource. I’ve used essentially ever major medical app and this was hands down my favorite.
Now the app will not allow a section of text to be ad free. I’ll scroll down while reading and a new ad will insert itself between the text. This is exceptionally distracting and interrupts reading. Why can’t they just keep the ad banners down at the bottom? There is already one there anyway?
I probably will be uninstalling Medscape, which is very disheartening because I’ve been using it for so long. In their quest for ad space they have lost someone to advertise to, and I’ve lost a great resource. There’s no winners in this scenario. It was a good run while it lasted and I’ll always be appreciative towards the app, but I can no longer support it.
Username password combination is not valid 1/5
I can't log in.
Search bar stopped working 1/5
By Dr Gil95
Previously it was the best resource available, now not being able to use the search bar after last update. Are you making the app laggy to older devices on purpose? I think I will have to switch to Epocrates if this continue to happen. Hope you can fix this soon, I really liked Medscape.
Drug incompatibility error 1/5
Medscape says milrinone and Lasix drip are both compatible but hospital's micro Medix says incompatible. I have emailed them twice with no response. Except a robot saying they received my email. As a nurse I need to know whether it's compatible or not and be able to trust this app. I especially now don't trust it due to the lack of response. It has now been over a month.
Dear developers, 4/5
Can you please make an ad-free version? I love the app, but I hate the ads. I am more than willing to subscribe to your ad-free Medscape, and I'm sure I won't be the only one
One suggestion 5/5
If we could download pictures offline that would be nice And make it an as option
By NP Tee
At first I loved this app. However, the amount of adds and the number of times this app crashes is not worth it for medical professionals!
Please offer a paid option to remove ads 1/5
By Jason Jones 3
I’ll pay for no ads. They annoy me enough that I don’t like using the app and will be sure not to buy from who evers ads interrupts me. Thanks for listening...
