  • Formulas do not update automatically 1/5

    By Marcelo Melo Borges
Excel across all my devices (ipad, macbook, iphone) no longer update formulas automatically as a variable gets changed. I did not make any configuration change and such a BAD issues appears. It is making me loose a lot of productivity since I make to manually enter each formula and refresh. AMAZING to see this happening !!!!!!!!!!! Microsoft.... FIX IT [email protected]
  • R Wisemen 2/5

It isn't friendly to use it. Especially it doesn't for frustrated beginners like me. I'm looking for a tutor to begin. It isn't for self learners.

This app is still a GOOD tool for making Study Planners and Schedule.
  • Why RELOAD the ENTIRE Spreadsheet EACH TIME? 1/5

    By Ex-Excel User
Why must it reload the entire spreadsheet each time I use the app switcher. For example if I go from Excel to Notepad then back to Excel my entire spreadsheet reloads. Worse yet, if I leave my iPad for say, three minutes, to go to the bathroom and my iPad goes to sleep, when I switch back to excel I see a split-second of my spreadsheet, then it disappears and I see Excel STARTING UP FROM THE BEGINNING! Then it starts to load my spreadsheet! Let me tell you, when your working with a very complicated workbook with 10 plus ‘sheets’ and the smallest has over 7000 lines this can be very TIME CONSUMING! And this is a recent development. It never needed to do this before. So WHY NOW? And why do I have to re login every 24 hours? That too is ANNOYING! Oh and one more thing: EXCEL now crashes when you try to dictate rather than type. It crashes as soon as you press the ‘microphone key’ And I pay $9.99 a month for this?
  • It doesn’t work 5/5

It just doesn’t work there is nothing else to it it just doesn’t work
  • Layout could be better for iPhone, works fine 4/5

    By Kampcachefis
I love Excel and use it often, usually on my computer. It’s nice to be able to edit the workbooks I have on my computer uploaded to onedrive, on my phone when I’m not nearby. It has all the functionality I usually need, although the layout is a little cramped and I wish I could customize it. I understand as it’s hard to fit all that functionality on a tiny iPhone screen, but it does the job.
  • Microphone in excel no longer working after update 🤬 1/5

    By sweethaven2004
Why doesn’t this function work? It was working great prior to the update 2 days ago. Must fix ASAP! Microphone works in all other apps just fine.

  • The best app 5/5

    By MANNY Chacon
This app definitely is the best, I love it, I don’t have to be opening my computer to do my reports. I just write everything on my phone and it ready.
  • So frustrating to use 1/5

    By melodyve
I’d give excel 5 stars on a pc. Trying to use on an iPad is crazy frustrating.
  • Run from Microsoft 1/5

    By JohnnyM128
Every new update of their software contains bugs and wastes time. Microsoft Technical Support is an oxymoron. If you wish to waste time with broken components and deal with completely inept support personnel, then Microsoft is the way to go!!
  • Lost functionality 1/5

After this update I can no longer share a file. This Bug has come and gone before, I wonder if they do any QC testing? Perplexed.
  • Missing to many functions 2/5

    By Corrieash
I use Excel everyday for my job, just not the iPad version. One thing that is very annoying, is the size of the drop down menu box. I can only see about a 3rd of what is in the box!
  • Macros in excel 1/5

  • iPad Excel is pretty good and helpful 4/5

On the whole, iPad Excel fills a need, but differences from PC Excel can be confusing and less than helpful. For example, the missing “copy format” function is a reason to get out of bed and head for the PC. Other features that do not work the same way are either board to find or missing.
  • Why not like in Windows 10 3/5

    By Raym no2
Not bad but missing a lot of features. I would like to have the full version (ok less the more than one person working on a file at a time) and “pay” Microsoft for it. I am retired individual I can save to buy special items but can not afford monthly subscription services. This is available with windows 10 but not IOS.
  • You have to re-open the app every single time 2/5

    By kate473
You have to re-open the app every single time if you switched to the other app is a pain... Sometimes it can take more than a min to open the app, it’s so inconvenience, this app requires you to stay in the page otherwise it would shut down itself automatically immediately. For me, my work is like have to do switching between apps. I bought the online 365 student version, and always use online editing, but it just ask me to re-open the app again and again makes me frustrated. The older version wasn’t like this. It changed since the last 2 update. I want the older version back!!!!
  • Open file doesn’t stay open... 3/5

    By Steven Zyler
after a couple of minute or so when switching back to Excel from the home screen or another app. The file then has to be downloaded and opened again rather than just resuming with the current, open file. This started with the version before this. Otherwise it’s fabulous.

Without macros or VBA you might as well be using Google Sheets. Worthless.
  • Wonderful 5/5

Works great on my iPhone 8 Plus.
  • Still no fix for dictation issue 2/5

    By inthesand
I was hoping today's release would fix the issue with dictation in iOS 12. It doesn't. If you open word or excel And hit the microphone button, the app will freeze and crash. Doesn't seem to affect PowerPoint. I've tried it on two different iPads and iPhones with the same result. I've also seen reviews here posted about it and on the Microsoft forum. Right now I'm using WPS Office. It works fine with dictation and can access onedrive, dropbox, google drive etc. The only issue I've found so far with the spreadsheet in WPS Office is the inability to create and edit tables. But then again it doesn't crash when I press the microphone button so thumbs up there. I would think for word users, this would be a major issue

    By SlimJaay
I’m very familiar with excel worksheet but this Microsoft Office 360 is not working for me. Most of the time I can’t edit my file or get into it, so it has been very frustrating using it on a desktop but works foe me mostly on the tablet or my phone.

An endless loop, sign in > send a code > email sent > email doesn’t tell me how to access Excel. Who has time for this?
  • Another report of the dictation problems with iOS 12.01 3/5

    By SchoolmarmMel
I’m having the same problem the other reviewer noted on my iPad. I attempted to report the problem to Microsoft (which was easier said than done – I think I’ve must’ve spent an hour + in the last two days fighting with their stupid support system) but their response was that I needed to tell Apple because it was their issue. Very annoying. One interesting thing is that for me word works OK (and so does OneNote). it’s only happening in Excel. And what’s happening is not that the application itself is closing but the workbook is closing, although it must not be a complete close because if I then tap on the Excel application it reopens the workbook, the same way it does if I close the application without first closing the workbook and then open the application again.

  • Great app 4/5

Great app. Closes when screen turns off most of the time on this version. Maybe a fix on next update.
  • MS-365 doesn't lose files 5/5

    By TomSky1012
I've been using Excel for 25+ years with One-Drive and Office 365 sharing files on Desktop PC, Laptop and iPhone. I've never 'lost a file' that couldn't be found/recovered. This set of products make using and sharing data a snap. Take the time to learn how to use them

  • No Drive support 1/5

    By Slickarmy
iPad version supports drive but the iPhone version doesn’t. Really a deal breaker since I’m not willing to switch cloud services. I do prefer the excel functionality over sheets, just wish companies could play nice with one another.
  • Saving a file 5/5

    By TRBTSm
It may only be me, however, I find that saving a file to a new name isn’t intuitive. I see where I can turn on ”Auto Save” and where I can simply save a file to its existing name, but I can’t seem to be able to figure out how to save an existing file to a new file name. Given some more time, I’ll figure it out. That’s my only comment.
  • Can’t give 5 stars 3/5

    By gavinfla
I have been keeping up with my expenses and the app is not keeping up, amounts keep changing, or putting amounts in all categories for that column. I put an amount for fuel and when opened the app to add a new fuel charge the last one was not recorded so, I don’t think it reliable.
  • Excel ipad, not robust 2/5

    By Pathfinder21
Unfortunately the iOS version of excel is not robust, simple filtering takes way to long to process. Apple boasts that the ipad pro 10.5 can be a substitute to a laptop, no so. I have a 5 yr old HP laptop that runs the latest PC version of excel and it runs circles around the latest ipad pro. According to Apple, the A10X processor is very fast and can handle PC like processing. If this is true, then the MS Excel version for iOS is not very efficient. Microsoft, please review your excel code for iOS and design it to handle simple filtering tasks. Thx.

Excel is great. I would like to have a simple explanation on how to total columns. Thanks
  • The file closed itself when it gets big. 2/5

    By Four Legged Snake
I have informed Microsoft that the file closes itself out in the middle of work when the file gets to certain size. It starts on my iPad and now on my iPhone. But I think MS doesn’t really care because the problem persists continually. Very annoying. I have to keep reducing file content to keep it from closing.
  • Need a 365 subscription now? 2/5

    By Alphadjinn
I’m not sure if it is bugged on os 11, but I am no longer able to edit my files. Im using an iphone 6, and I thought that as long as the device had a screen smaller than 10 inches then you didn’t need a subscription to edit. I don’t see anywhere that this policy has changed.

  • Love it, mostly. 4/5

    By eq ht
Love having excel on phone and, with dropbox, makes accessing spreadsheets quick and easy. Some functions of spreadsheet hard to navigate on iphone and small screen though. Definitely will keep using.
  • Fix is In 4/5

Program should be written with better strategies, not by manipulating the dice. Rolls should be completely random!
