    The best app !!!
  • A constant disappointment 1/5

    By Richie396
This app - and all the Office apps on iPad - are constantly asking me to sign in again to edit. Then when signed in it either tells you that a file is “already open” and so cannot be opened, or that you must allow optional privacy settings for the “experience” of opening the file. An absolute waste of time.
  • Something’s wrong 1/5

    By lakejoe
We use this app on the iPad all the time with Dropbox. For some reason it’s telling us to sign in all the time. Normally, this is a great app. The newest update has done something wrong.

No longer available for editing on my iPad without paying a monthly subscription. Very upset!
  • Clunky & difficult on iPad 2/5

    By WelcomeHomeSW
Excel is great software! I love what it does and how easy it is to create formulas! But it is clunky and difficult to use inside the Apple-verse, making my work life less compatible with Apple products. Grrr
  • Always disappointing and frustrating to use 2/5

    By Was hopeful
March 2023 and I still feel the same way about this app. Now I cannot trust the app to save changes. It reports that changes are saved but I keep randomly losing data if I edit using my mobile devices. OLD REVIEW: There isn’t a single time I’ve used this app to create spreadsheets that I haven’t finished disappointed or disgusted. Every time I create a spreadsheet with tables and charts Excel just fails. A simple exercise to grab a table of dividend distributions from a web page, paste into Excel, calculate the average dividend and average NAV, and then chart the NAV and dividends with trend lines seems to be too much for Excel to handle. It usually finishes off by locking up when I am frustrated and decide to save to OneDrive so I can finish my work on a Windows PC. The next most frustrating problem is editing a formula. I don’t understand why dragging the cursor through a formula can lead to so many different selection mistakes. I dare you to try placing the cursor at the start of a cell reference or between a string of multiple open parentheses. Top that off by the totally inept programming of moving the cursor using the space bar. The inertia of the cursor seems to change randomly and toggles between “it isn’t going to move at all” to “how did the cursor get way over there so fast?!” Viewing existing spreadsheets seems to work pretty well. This is the only reason I gave this app two stars instead of one.

features in the Excel available are very limited. The ones available are not user friendly and ease to use.
  • Why does it do that? 1/5

    By Langgoose
I have an Office 365 subscription, and this app keeps asking me if I want an Office 365 subscription. I am logged in. Make it stop. I feel like I will accidentally click yes when I am quickly trying to enter my spreadsheets.

  • Love application 5/5

    By MP Texas
12.11.20 I noticed today that any emailed Spreadsheet that is password protected can only be opened in the Excel application. Any other application for example email, dropbox etc. you get an error message that states decryption failed. 3.14.23 Since your last update, the “ fill color” and “ font color” shortcut or icon has disappeared on the IPAD from the “Home” In order to use this one has to look for it in the help bulb while on the spreadsheet.
  • Opening on iPhone Corrupts File 1/5

    By Annoyed JZ
When opening on the iPhone App, you’re prompted that a newer version is available. This corrupts the file and all is lost even if saved. How many versions of a file do you need to save to backup? Switching to google sheets because the reliability of the application really puts sensitive documents at risk.
  • Does not load 1/5

    By 94770006558
No common sense or logic in normal thinking
  • Autosave on by default on every file 2/5

    By Bertram11
If you use this program to view an important document you’re going to cause chaos because it will save the file automatically as you sort or accidentally type characters into it as you scroll up or down. Autosave can’t be turned off unless you go to every file one at a time and turn it off. This means every new file you create. How will you remember this dozens if not hundreds of times? Guess what happens after the program updates… it resets all files to auto save again. It’s horrible that we can’t turn autosave off program-wide. Basically you’re going to cause trouble or get in trouble if you use this.
  • Love this app, BUT… 4/5

    By beach5150
My husband has a subscription and I’m supposed to be able to use it on my desktop and my iPad. But on my iPad, it doesn’t even ask me to log in; it just wants me to buy my own subscription. I much preferred to OWN the dang app instead of all this cloud nonsense.

  • Addition of “Named Cells” will simplify use of constant values 5/5

    By HectorER
    1) Addition of “Named Cells” will simplify use of constant values without having to “memorize” Row and Column, even spread sheet names, for a cell keeping a “Constant Value” to be used across the work book. 2) When you change an Spread Sheet name, direct references to it are automatically updated but if you use INDIRECT references to cells these are not updated. Example: Spread Sheet Name: Original_Name X=Original_Name!$B$33 X=INDIRECT(“Original_Name!B"&ROW($B$33)) When you change Spread Sheet name to: “New_Name”, only direct cell references get the new name for corresponding Spread Sheet, resulting in “REF Errors”: X=New_Name!$B$33 X=INDIRECT(“Original_Name!B"&ROW($B$33))

    Creating Spread sheets!
  • Don’t even bother 1/5

    By nickname is aready taken
Unless you want to waste your time and have an incomplete experience don’t even bother using excel on your iPad or iPad Pro. This app is so poorly made. Can’t run macros. Constantly logs you out then when you login it deletes your work. 2FA constantly gives invalid code error. No my clocks are not wrong. Simply a poorly made app because they don’t want a good experience on apple products. Honestly apple should just pull this from the App Store the experience is so poor.
  • Poor software 2/5

    By MD CA
There is never any real changes. Still can't connect to external links. Cumbersome editing features.
  • Excell 1/5

    By Marg126
Way tooooo complicated! It’s horrible to try do work with this! If I had my way we would dump this program asap!

  • 4.8 I don’t believe 1/5

    By Dombey
This app never works on my iPad. It takes hours to sign in from my iPad and it still won’t work properly.
  • Excel and iPads 4/5

    By Privacy squared
Excel on iPads still need enhancements to get the feel of laptops, would love to se MS get there.
  • Switch to google sheets 1/5

    By NoMoreOffice360
Google sheets is free don’t have to pay to edit sheets. Also sharing files is 100% easier between Google users.
  • Android App far superior to the IOS one 1/5

    By Jeff1193728
This app lags all the time on both my IPad 9th Generation and IPhone 11 its a horrible app on here everything feels hidden in dumb places meanwhile when I use my Galaxy s10+ or Galaxy Tab s7+ it works great and feels amazing. Fix this it takes me 20 seconds or more to delete a line on a spreadsheet because its always locking up or freezing its sad.
  • This program has been buggy for 25 years - 1/5

    By Ugh23339242424973478785802345
This program has been buggy for 25 years - instead of solving problems, they just keep adding layers upon layers of non-sense. Now by tying Office so tightly to your cloud, uh "solution", you have rendered it unusable. I am frustrated every time I need to use your software now.
  • Great partner! 5/5

    By ckdmka
This is a great partnership for any business.
  • unsaved 3/5

    By CateElp
i love to use excel to track all my purchases and to see my new balance after each purchase, but recently, every single one of my purchases that i tracked disappeared. apparently, the changes don’t save without you saving them, which doesn’t make any sense.
  • Excel 2/5

    By Bernman402
I have a paid Excel software loaded to my computer, but Excel 365 keeps blocking me from using it. When I get a Windows update it blocks it again until I make a work around. Not a user friendly system.
  • Sub par - unnecessarily and disappointingly 2/5

    By El Dorado Jim
Too many differences between iPad and iPhone version to what long time users expect. Too many disclaimers that iPad excel doesn’t do this, doesn’t do that…disclaimers that I have to click through EVERY SINGLE TIME I open the app. That alone is dumb. Then there is a partially functioning stock data feed function that makes me crazy…by now does it not make sense excel is better / perfect at drawing in basic data sources like stock / financial info? You would think so given the age of the application and the financial wherewithal of Microsoft. Overall just very disappointing. Makes me constantly seek alternatives and think about replacing it. Not the thoughts you want rattling around your customers’ heads….unacceptable that Microsoft can’t get this basic stuff right.
  • Excel vs Apple Pencil 2/5

    By Excel vs Apple Pencil
I want to use my pencil to type and work throughout the spreadsheet, but all it will allow me to do is use the draw feature. I can’t find anything to turn the draw feature off and allow me to type and navigate other than deleting the pencil completely from the app, which I don’t want to do.
  • Creamy 5/5

    By CBF819
    So long and creamy
  • Poor Quality 1/5

    By Perocity
Again, running into performance problems sync’ing to the cloud. It’s always something which interrupts my workflow. I may end up going back to Apple Numbers and ditch Excel. I use my Mac and iPad as an educator. Microsoft is better than Google Sheets by a long shot, but there are still too many persistent problems.
  • Excellent product 5/5
