ADD TRACKPAD SUPPORT! 2/5
Please add trackpad support. The experience of word is currently lagging far behind other writing apps on the iPad because this has taken so long to implement.
Accounts, accounts, accounts… 1/5
By Nick DeFilipp
I’m so tired of these accounts for everything. An account for this, an account for that… When the whole SaaS craziness just started, I was laughed at when I said it’ll come to requiring an account just to edit a simple text file. Now look at where we all are.
Also, the funniest thing here is that you actually *can* edit files in Word/Excel for iOS without signing in. The workaround is on the surface and it just confirms that this “limitation” of being “unable” to edit documents without signing in is purely artificial.
I’m still resorting to Pages to make actual edits, though, because the workaround to edit files without signing in first is still kinda PITA — only use it if it’s really necessary, like Pages screwing your document up.
TL;DR the app is decent, but the intent behind it (to impair you unless you give your data in) is horrible.

Very laggy with iOS 14 and Magic Keyboard 2/5
By Robb Sky
Before upgrading to iOS 14, it worked pretty well, and the typing experience is second-to-none on the Magic Keyboard. But since upgrading to iOS 14, this app becomes unusable after a short period of time. The typing experiencing becomes incredibly laggy. I used to write for hours on this without an issue, so I hope they can get this fixed in iOS 14, but as of right now, you might want to try Pages or maybe even the web app because this is broken.
Word app 1/5
Operating process ridiculous!
Implement idea... Maybe? 1/5
Really a five star app, but I need your attention!
Yes, I know there's a drawing tab in word, but a Scribble function, with the lower half of document screen dedicated to using an Apple Pencil, would be 100% ideal!
Thank you - Mike l.
I’ve been using Microsoft Word for iPad since March on my iPad Pro and it’s been wonderful until the new iPadOS was released. It’s slow, glitchy and copy and paste doesn’t work very well, especially when you’re trying to copy something from in the document. Hopefully it get’s updated! It used to be fast and convenient and honestly, better than Microsoft Word on my iMac.
Files fail to open 1/5
Yesterday it was working fine, now today none of the documents I need to edit will open.
I get a loading spiral and then nothing.
Google Docs has never failed me but now my team has migrated to Microsoft’s platform.
I expect more from a multi billion dollar company.
I love it! 5/5
I mainly use it for drawing and school assignments. But I like it. It’s very reliable.I mean, I’m still getting the hang of it. But again, I LOVE IT!
Microsoft word 2/5
By track master D
I use to love this app, but now I don’t. The reason why is because every time you go into the app you have to put in a different password or username. Better yet iif you do not know your password or username you have to create a new one. Why don’t you just allow the same password and username for the same person that signing in? If they forget their password or username than lock them out 3 times for tying.
For these reasons I am now going to give it a
2 stars. This is for the developer to fix the app for it can work well for all.
a good document app 4/5
This version of Word has improved a lot over the past year, and is one of my most used apps for writing essays and research papers.
Please add the option for full dark mode when working on documents.
Mobile app 2/5
This app is not very user friendly. I have been very disappointed.
It’s the little things 3/5
By Puritan Bennett 980
As beautiful as this app is, there are little things that irritates you. It’s like running your hand across a smooth piece of wood that has a splinter, it’s just not expected. For example, if you use a different format like APA often, you’ll have to use Times New Roman. You’ll find that it doesn’t save your most recently used format near the top, you’ll have to scroll to the bottom.
iPad Pro Magic Keyboard issues 2/5
If you are a student relying on word... be sure to have a computer nearby cause you WILL NOT be able to get your formatting right with this app. Without support for trackpad, the editing experience is terrible and laggy. If you are trying to use specific headings and a format youre used to on desktop, have a good time doing it all on your own for lack of a true styles menu. Just selecting text is terrible... if you are looking for a word document viewer this is a good bet, but if you want to actually write a term paper - good luck.
Too many bugs 2/5
As the title says, this has consistently had too many bugs and sometimes doesn’t allow you edit papers or even type (how basic is that). I am done. Don’t waste your money

Keeps crashing 1/5
By Boo This App Stinks!
Okay, at first this app was great and all, but now it just starts crashing whenever I use it. Each time I edit any document on this app, it crashes and sometimes I lose my progress. It also takes forever to finish work due to those problems. At this point, I’m not sure whether to keep using this app or not.
I may just edit my documents in another app.
Why can’t I Edith my document ?
¡Word es súper! 5/5
Feature comparable, mostly but consistent problems app switching 3/5
It's Word, it mostly is feature comparable to the desktop version which is only annoying when you need the feature that is not present.
When switching apps, like to Safari for research, and back on the iPad, Word consistently loses the ability to place the cursor - both with touch and an attached keyboard. Closing the document and reopening fixes it, but this is highly aggravating when trying to write away from a computer. Microsoft - there is a bug in your text engine that needs to be addressed. (Also, no feedback in app?)
Problem has persisted across MANY updates on multiple devices and OS versions. Word is the only writing app where I see this behavior.
Without this problem, a 4 star - the missing features from desktop prevent a five star (and the legacy quirks that echo back to decisions made when it was on Windows 95).
Magic keyboard 2/5
Not sure why but sometimes with magic keyboard word just starts lagging.
Well functioning 5/5
Word has taken every opportunity to Improve and is now a great app.
Fonts Are Gone 1/5
Word has not been updated with new Font API for iOS 14. All fonts installed other than default iOS fonts are not visible. Microsoft needs to updated Word Font API to work with iOS 14. Until this is done, this app is useless to me. Apple’s Pages typing app sees all installed fonts as it should- Looks like that is what I will now use.
They won’t let you do anything until you pay for a subscription. You can’t even type anything.

Great app...but it freezes/glitches with iOS 14 3/5
I am using a 2017 second generation iPad Pro 12.9" tablet that has never had an issue with MS Word beyond a couple of glitches (printing, mainly) that Microsoft fixed in updates to the app.
With the update to iOS 14, however, the app starts slowing down after a period of time, causing erratic typing in a "stop-go" action that is incredibly frustrating. The app bogs down so much that I have to exit the document and close the app. Once I reopen the app...it works fine until it starts slowing down again.
Please fix this, Microsoft.

I like word but sometimes it is slow 😔
Highly disappointed in the changes to the 365 Suite of Products 1/5
The Microsoft Suite of Products have turned into a pain in the rear to utilize.
Initial loading times are ridiculous because of surveillance data collection and cloud services. (I will note that I am 100% against the surveillance practices utilized by Microsoft and targeted advertising.)
In addition, the file management systems are cumbersome. I find myself using this suite less and less because of these practices. I don’t these produtcs to be user friendly anymore.
Latest version of iOS Word 3/5
I recently updated word to the latest version to be compatible with iOS 14. There is a problem selecting the cursor and moving it around the document while using an iPhone 8+ and attempting to interact with the word document. This did not used to be a problem in earlier versions of Microsoft word while using it on an iPhone 8+
When I touch the screen of my iPhone to set the cursor it should do so but it doesn’t. It’s not working as fluid as it did previously.
It needs to be fixed

This requires Microsoft 365 Account to edit any document.
Same word. Same problem 1/5
A lot of people use word because its very standard. But I run into the same problem when I use it. Every update there’s a problem with the format. Everything that I had on page 2, is now partly on page 1. And what I had on part 3, is partly on page 2, and so forth, throughout all 200+pages of my document. Try to call for support and reach someone who barely speaks English. I tell them what happens, and they say “so is it because you changed something in your document”? Yes, when I closed my document yesterday, it was formatted correctly. Then after I updated the app today, and opened it up and it was wrong, it must have been when I did it in the middle of the night.
I will be switching to Apples pages. Thanks for the people who work really hard to make this work, it really is a great effort for the most part. But it’s just not fun doing this when the issue happens on my MacBook and my iPad. What’s the point of setting something up to be exactly how you want it, if a simple update changes everything? It’s nonsense.
Changed and Deleted Everything 1/5
By Sleep Boyo
I was writing an essay which took more than 2 days, and when I came back it had changed everything from MLA format to no headers or spacing! When I had exited out of the tab that contained my final essay which took days of research, the essay itself was gone. I had made completely sure it saved and the autosaved function was on, but this system did not save it whatsoever. They need to make sure I get my work back and fix the problem
Cloudy Nightmare - Loses Files 1/5
By Bespectacled Ape
It really derves zero stars until they quit trying to force you to save to the cloud. I absolutely do not want to for many reasons, and now I am getting messages that I can't open files because they are in an "unsupported location" when I have kept stuff on my iPad for months.
Autosave is gone. There's no sync between internal memory and cloud, so how are you supposed to be sure which file you used last? This is nutso.
Keyboard won’t appear 1/5
The keyboard won’t appear when tap the screen to type. It just say “Select All” when I tap the screen but the keyboard won’t come up, not sure if it’s the app or my phone :/
An amazing mobile version of word, with an easy sign up/in. The only problem is, it is hard to transfer one word on mobile to one word on computer.
Love this app and use it a lot!

That is a great software for writing my memory . Thanks from my heart.
App restarted while working on doc, completely lost! 1/5
The app literally does not let you save and states that it “auto-saves” as you make changes to your document. This did little good when the app crashed and my document was completely wiped out, and none of my “saved” changes remained. I have to do go back through hours of work thanks to this false claim. Thanks a lot!
Similar to past systems 5/5
Make it as the past experience.
Surprisingly Excellent! 5/5
I don’t really do much work on Office applications, like nothing on the daily, but occasionally I need them.
When first I got Office on my phone I always tried to avoid using the apps just because I felt I’d be handicapped.
That was until I actually tried Excel, and holy poop! It was surprisingly really good when it comes to how productively/effectively you can use it!
They (almost) designed EVERYTHING from the ground up to work with touch.
Everything works super well and is super intuitive. No crazy 4-finger-gestures or anything like that, they’re perfect!
Me gusta 5/5
Esta muy bien que haya también para móvil ;b
Useless for iPhone 1/5
By Rock'n roll cowgirl
This app is completely useless for iPhones. You can’t add words to you documents or edit hardly at all; it’s overall very pointless to have an app that you can’t do anything on. The main reason I downloaded Word for iPhone was so that I could edit my documents on the go, when I don’t have the time and space for my laptop, but need to finish an essay to send in to my classes; but apparently Microsoft thinks it’s a better idea to make you pay to be able to do such things—as if we all don’t already pay enough for everything else in life as is.
Helpful but not as useful 4/5
I love Microsoft word and always have. At this time I couldn’t afford a new computer so I converted my Ipad for all my needs. The Version is helpful with my papers and submitting my work. But sadly not very user friendly. Along with not a lot of options to organize/change layout/ or even change names on a folder. Checked out their help pages more than I should but still no solutions. If you can get passed the lack of creative movement, and cave to being slightly unorganized its still a sold 4 star app.
Best app ever 5/5
This is the worst 1/5
It freezes all the time
