  • Really intuitive and accessible 5/5

    By Duduadorno
ANYONE, regardless of background, can take their time and learn basic coding through very fun lessons. I’m having a blast learning while watching my place in the rankings go up and can’t wait till I have enough coins for cool icons. All while learning python! 🙌🏻

  • Great learning tool, but 4/5

This is a great way to learn, and the teaching process is fantastic. However, waiting to hear from the team for customer service is rough. I upgraded my account to a year, however it started a new account for me instead of using the one I’ve got a streak going on with many points. Now I wait. Hopefully I’ll hear before I have to renew.
  • Great app 3/5

    Great app but seems spoonfedish
  • Awesome for the simple stuff 4/5

    By Fushigimigi
This app is awesome(can only speak of the python course so far). Way better than solo learn app. The Mimo folks know how to teach and reinforce human memory. It may appear like too much repetition sometimes, but what is happening is that they are beating the info into your head from slightly different angles each time and then circling back around latter to further solidify. The way lessons build on each other is great. The small project lessons can be taken early on. You don’t have to spend a week before you can start learning how your code could be useful in the real world. The brain recognizes things that are practical and if it cannot associate what you are learning as having value, it will be hard to have the motivation to learn it in the first place… and much less, the ability to remember it. I’ve been disgusted lately with garbage products, but this one is a nice surprise. I think there are some folks on staff that have an insight on human psychology even if they don’t realize it. I hope they keep going. I’m considering their other products. Update: once I got to the constructors and Classes, they don’t do a very good job of teaching these things. Their learning setup doesn’t work for more complicated topics. You cannot use words to explain everything. Sometimes you have to draw things in an abstract manner to see what is really going on. Also, it’s important to understand the history being some things so that it is easier to remember them and associate value with what you are learning (in order for it to make sense and remember it). There are entire courses out there on object oriented programming so I’m not unreasonable, but if this stuff is taught as a prerequisite for future learning in the Mimo course, I think Mimo is being unreasonable.
  • Hello 5/5

I’m new to this, I wanted to find something that would be challenging for me and this app has really pushed me to try hard every day to get better I can’t wait to see what’s in store!
  • Wonderful! 5/5

    By Anna voronyuk
Best app on beginner Python I came across so far! Starts from a scratch and has a perfect balance of comprehensive theory and practice. Finally moved my learning forward the easy and interactive way! However, there are different courses for different proficiency levels. It was my struggle to specifically find a friendly beginner course that I finally found here, and that’s what made my review. Hope other courses are excellent, too!

This app I thought was dumb but now that I’m using it , it’s pretty good at showing someone that don’t know how to code to showing them little by little.

Some simple exercises to help me get familiar with some extra coding required at work. Really enjoying it.
  • Love love love 5/5

    By Jazzhands678
I don’t normally leave reviews but this is genuinely the best app I’ve ever used. The idea is phenomenal and extremely well executed! The fact that these features are free is amazing and everyone should be taking advantage of the opportunity it gives for learning. The simple way that it explains each concept is more effective in teaching than any college/university lecture I have listened to. This app can truly do some real good in your understanding of code.

I am learning how to code and the foundation is being laid. I’m working with HTML looking into conversations. It is a time traveling sort of experience.
  • Mimo: a comprehensive study 4/5

    By dont_delete
Mimo is exquisite. I’m learning python at a rapid pace, like a rabbit, bounding past a turt and saying “Oh you simple one. Oh you one without wisdom. I have seen the light; I have been enlightened.” All that Mimo gives so freely couldn’t have been conceived in my wildest visions. Mimo... is like heaven come to earth. It’s sleek design, a satisfying ui and, dare I say, Mimolicios leaderboard has inspired me each and every day to expand my brain capacity. The Mimo experience; a hill with flowers atop, a place to call home, a place to call school. I have climbed passed my “peers”, with my intellectual prowess, easily shooting to the top of every leaderboard in my sight. I feel like a child, touching the face of God as my eyes are opened. This is what it all means. I feel like the summarians, national superpowers that saw what the human capacity currently was, and didn’t except it: no, they rebelled against there primitive form and invented the basis for the advances we are able to make today. As I sit here, wrighting this reflection of the greatest peece of the puzzle that is our human experience: I reflect apon my life before Mimo, the melancholy state I was in. I don’t shame those who are experiencing a similar way of living; no, I call them, I offer them a hand out of the dusty, well trodden rode they are crouched on, and say: “let me offer you something greater, something inspiring and powerful: let me grant you Mimo.” 4/5 cuz of some bugs
  • Embarrassingly intrusive ads 1/5

    By Marioscout
Don’t get me wrong: the core learning content here is good for a mobile app. But unless you plan on buying the yearly subscription, you’ll be barraged with ads for the Pro subscription after every lesson…anytime you change tabs…even after every time you select a lesson in the menu! Utterly malicious app design. Go use Codecademy instead - at least they design their app to respect both free and premium users.
  • Mimo makes 5/5

    By New Jewish learner
Learning fun and very easy to do. I am new to python, and I have gone through the first three lessons with no problems at all and no problem learning the syntax but also some commands.
  • It was good at first 3/5

    By ckdifiskfs
But doing some of the exercises, it tells you to write some syntax’s that just need the sql command without finishing the query, but then they have some exercise where you need the command and finish the query. It gets confusing which one you need and you have to just guess. It starts to become really annoying
  • Great Mobil App 4/5

    By AndyCorrales1
I’ve had Mimo for a little over a year now. I use it for a while, stop using it for a little, and come back to it. It’s very easy to pick up where you left off, and review what you already learned. I started off with the iPad version, and other than small bugs, it was great. Now I’m using the mobile app version and it’s a lot easier to use than I thought it would be. Haven’t considered the Mimo course to get certified as Web Dev but maybe in the future I’ll give it a shot (if Mimo wants to give it to me for free that would be great too). Anyways, great for beginners, easy to use on the go, fun interface. Would’ve given 5 stars, but the iPad bugs annoyed me too much.
  • Love 5/5

    By CuteQbert
Excellent so far I would like to see two things: some kind of vocab I could refer to (all the different words are getting jumbled up in my brain) and the ability to take notes would be great.
  • Fun 5/5

    By MoneybagJas
I’m enjoying this app so far, I love the simplicity and the reiteration of the lessons from one to the next.
  • Learning path 5/5

    By Tina Maria97
As a person that never had any contact with programming, Mimo definitely stepped up that game. In a fun way of learning it gave me motivation to learn new things and helped me find my path towards IT. Highly recommend it !
  • Request 4/5

    By NinMaron
Is it possible we access our challenges after we’ve completed them? It would be good to revisit them.
  • Nah 2/5

    By &Alex&
Great UI and information but they’re just trying to price gouge with a fabricated 50% off on publicly accessible information. Another developer I’d never utilize again.
  • Absolutely love this app. 4/5

    By zeppy!
I just wish it had a real leaderboard
  • Entraining Confused Coding Principles. 2/5

    By Susurrator
The exploratory method produces confused, but assured coders. Arrogant coders. Poor style.
  • Beginners Dream 5/5

    By TPGoldMan
As someone who is new to coding, this app makes the learning process smooth as a baby’s bum. In fact a baby could learn this is so easy.
  • Enjoyable learning 5/5

    By Tiz the Fantast
It helps me remember better and practice with enjoyment until I understand clearly.
  • Battery Drain 2/5

    By Flowulf
I have been using this app for about a week or so and I have noticed that the app drains my smartphone’s battery quite a bit. At first I did not know what was going on, but then I realized it’s the Mimo app.
  • I’m loving it 5/5

    By apomejiabo
I’ve moved from 0 to something cool
  • Code Learning Difficulty 5/5

    By Blaze El Tigre
At first it was super easy and just told me what exactly to do and you couldn’t really get it wrong. But that was only for the first level of stuff, I am on the second level now and I have actually gotten one wrong because it now lets me do it and just asked me to debug the code or finish the code!
  • Good with issues 3/5

    By BlockyBadBoy
Ok Mimo is the best coding app by a landslide. But I fell like of all the features I have read about I feel like there should be stuff like the daily challenges back please. And the page where the top creations I heard about too. But other than that it is amazing! Not to brag but I have a 60 day streak
  • Just like Duolingo 5/5

    By Thewideworldandcamebacktothis

  • The 5 life system is so difficult 4/5

    By Lillian best
This app is wonderful. It taught me python basics- I have finished the entire Python course, and it was great. I had no issues understanding and each of the challenges were fantastic. The problem started when I moved on to the web development course. The lessons were alright, but the problem started when it asked me to code in html. No text boxes, just vague instructions for many of the challenges. I know they’re supposed to be hard, but I find myself not being able to do anything because I’m losing lives for silly things. Having the html elements spaced incorrectly, and not including the instructions to fix spacing. Of course I’m getting that wrong. Had to design web page with reviews, so I put comment elements. That was wrong, it was supposed to be section element for some reason. This life system is so difficult and pro is honestly quite costly just to fix this. Honestly probably won’t be completing the web dev course, instructions are too vague in some places making it impossible to learn because I’m constantly out of lives.
  • Love this! 5/5

    By Cavemandan12
I love this app. As someone who suffers from adhd the app is extremely short to the point and teaches effectively. I am a drafter as a career but have big ambitions as a graphic designer and web developer to help rocket launch my digital marketing desire! I continue to learn new things daily eventually I plan on making a digital video on another platform to push this and the huge need

I love this app it is very very helpful and if you don’t know anything about coding this is literally the app for you. Instead of following a video and trying to copy and learn you literally have a tutor that teaches you step by step and help you develop muscle memory with the coding language.
