The app will open and just show the MLB logo and stay stuck on it. It’s garbage. I’ve deleted the app multiple times and it doesn’t fix it. The app is literally dysfunctional.

App is fun and I love playing but why is it not taking games away from my franchise slot when I do bonus games and prime events? It keeps saying 20 games and I can not get another player because it won’t go down. Please fix this I would like to use my original line up or pick a new player. The event give a bonus for Mauer (who’s on my roster) but he’s not in my line up because of the franchise issue...PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!

I enjoy being able to access news about the sport because I thoroughly enjoy the game. However, notifications about unnecessary stuff like players tweets just spam my phone. I also miss the notification before each game telling you your teams starting lineup.
Ever since the last update the app just crashes any time you open it. Fix the bugs, and relax on the notifications about unrelated stuff to the game, and the app would be much better.

BEWARE: subscription bait and switch 1/5

I subscribed at the “monthly” rate rather than the also listed “yearly” rate, planning to cancel soon. When i went to cancel in ios, the app happily cancelled: after six more months. Apparently, “monthly” is more like yearly?
I called to cancel with a real person, but unlike most other businesses, they don’t answer phones until noon? I have to call again.
This is dark user experience: let’s trick our customers, then make it hard for them to address our deception with a complaint.
Very disappointing: i had admired the mlb app and its design. But that has exploded now, thanks to their money grubbing trickery.
Stay away from this deceptive app. Let the mlb earn its money from networks, and at the parks. Even better, go to university or minor league games, and let the mlb continue its loss of younger fans as it fails on the mobile platforms those fans use.
UPDATE — EVEN DARKER: called after mlb’s noon opening time. The agent there agreed that mlb should not continue charging me, but said she was unable to resolve the issue, and unable to connect me to someone who could resolve. She gave me a case number promising that mlb would resolve “later”. So apparently those who can resolve exist, but I’m not important enough to speak with them. Or more simply, no customer can speak with those who can resolve their problems. At this point mlb has stolen nearly an hour of my time, and is asking for more. The problem is not resolved, and currently it is still likely they will take my money when i have told them to stop, both verbally and in writing. That has a simpler name: theft.
UPDATE — MLB AND APPLE CONFUSION: after an hour on the phone again, i am assured by both apple and mlb that i will not be charged more. However, they will not send me that in writing. They have no clear explanation about why a cancelled monthly subscription should continue for months for free (mlb said something about monthly converting to daily, but could not explain why that happened, why that means it’s free, why my subscription should still say monthly on my phone ). Apple does not seem certain, sending me info about what to do if I’m charged again.
BOTTOM LINE STAY AWAY: unless you’re ready to commit for months. You’ll waste hours trying to cancel, and only reach confused agents who can’t assure you that the subscription is in fact cancelled, and are unable to make the monthly subscription show expiration at month end.

Originally, when I opted for news notifications it was to receive exactly that: updates about goings on, like: transactions, injuries, awards - you know…stuff actually RELEVANT to Baseball itself. However, within the past year, MLB At-Bat notifications have been seriously dumbed down; removing useful content - like starting lineups for all regular season games - to concentrate on *fluff* and gimmicks instead.
Why the heck do you consider a feature on Didi Gregorius’ emoji tweets “news”? Why do you think we “need” to know Noah Syndergaard might have cut his hair? What is it to a fan of the actual *game* that Bartolo Colón got a new tattoo? Why waste time creating notifications about a bat flip? This isn’t “news.” It’s gossip – and yet *this* is what you focus on now. Your ‘news’ content is so off-base now that other sites actually do a better job of covering your own sport than you do!
Also, why do you feel you need to spam us with multiple notifications about a single play? Tell us about it once and move on. Don’t keep nagging us about it!
Being hip to today’s trends doesn’t mean I want you to use them to treat me like an 8-year-old. If you think your fluff will “sell” to kids, then by all means, give them their own app. In the meantime, give the rest of us the respect to NOT treat us like airheads.

Please add a feature that allows us to set up notifications on specific games from the Scores screen. I don’t want to have to set up notifications for a team when I’m only interested in certain games. Examples are near the end of the season when following a close division race or postseason games.

My app worked fine for a while when I first got it and my paid for a yearly subscription as a birthday present for my wife. Then, after about five minutes, it would disconnect from my Chromecast. After trying everything in the app troubleshooting, I called the service number and was walked through a process that fixed the problem — until it started again. With the playoffs underway and World Series in sight, I knew I’d have to call again if I wanted to watch on my TV. I could have watched on my phone but felt that it probably wouldn’t be the same as watching on my 52” HDTV. So, knowing support would ask me I had the most recent version of the app, I updated it. New problem. The video would play fine on my phone but the app would crash when I tried to stream it. My TV displayed an error message that I wrongly assumed would lead to a quick fix. I spent an hour on the phone with MLB and was told they’d contact me. Three days later I called back and was told “they were still working” on my problem. Game One and Two of the World Series have been played and I’ve still had no contact from MLB. Thank goodness I was able to download the Fox Sports app, which worked perfectly, so my assumption is the problem ISN’T my phone, TV, or Chromecast but the MLB at Bat app. I have never been more disappointed/dissatisfied with an app. The Fox app is free and users must have an authorized cable subscription to watch post-season and World Series games using it. A cable account is also required for the MLB app. Unless you like spending more time trying to fix this crappy app instead of watching baseball, find a good sports bar. Oh yeah. Expect little to no support from the app supplier. I can’t believe I’m the only person with this problem. Happy birthday, hon. I’ll try and do better next year.

They say that given infinite time, an endless amount of monkeys with an endless amount of typewriters will produce the entire works of Shakespeare. I say that given a couple weeks, one brain dead monkey with one computer will be able to produce a better app than this.
The "video" section is actually just a trap designed as a torture device. The selected video will actually play about one out of ten times, the other nine times are filled with the same annoying, 30 second commercials. After that, the screen flickers and then you are forced out of the app. When the video section does work, you must watch a 30 second add every time while praying to whatever God you worship for it to continue to work.
I propose that whoever designed this app should have their fingers cut off so they can't hurt anyone else. Then, they shall be institutionalized as extreme sadists.

Please fix the Apple Watch At Bat app. No way it should be that slow on a Series 4 Apple Watch. It’s by far the slowest app on my Series 4 Watch. Sure would have been nice if the latest update improved the speed of the app on Apple Watch.

Buyer beware that the monthly subscription will be billed for all 12 months of the year (not just during the mlb season) and of the horrible customer service you will receive from the MLB support team.
I was shocked when I saw a $24.99 charge to my account on October 21st. I admit that I did make the mistake of assuming the monthly charge was during the regular season and not for all 12 months of the year. I immediately called their customer support to ask for a refund the very same day that my account was charged. I was told per their policy that they would not be able to issue a refund because it states in the terms and conditions that I would be billed.
I requested to speak to the manager of the gentlemen with whom I was talking to and after being put on hold, Anna H. came on the phone and repeated her script that she could not offer a refund because I would have needed to cancel before the billing date. I told her that I would not be getting off the phone with her until I received the refund. So we stayed on the phone with each other in silence for 15 minutes, both not willing to budge from our position. After awhile she finally told me that she could escalate the situation and put me on hold again. After being on the phone for now 60 minutes she finally came back and said someone else would call me back to “answer my questions.” I told her again, that I would wait on the phone with her until I received the phone call. She then stated that she would put me back on hold but instead of placing me on hold, she hung up on me.
So after being on the phone for over an hour, the situation was not resolved and I was hung up on.
So instead of doing the right thing for their customer and retaining me as a customer for next season and beyond, they stole their last $25 from me, all in the name of “policy.” Seems like a bad business model to me.

This app used to be great. As a software engineer and a baseball fan I was always impressed by how far ahead MLB was with technology compared to every other sport. Not anymore.
The rebuild of this app has been for the worst. When you go to the game day view during an inning you can’t see the plays that have happened so far this inning until the current batter is retired. The number of times the game day audio feed isn’t available is astronomical. Gone are the days of listening to baseball at the beach 😔

I love the app but I’m having an issue with opening it on my phone. It hasn’t been working for me since I updated my iOS to the latest version. When I click to open it, it will just stay frozen permanently. The app still works just fine on my iPad.

Usually would give this app 5 stars, as I use this app all year and it works great. In the 5th game of the ALCS it asks who my pay tv provider is and my password for said pay tv. I live in Jamaica and do not have a pay tv provider. Hoping this is an error, I paid for the season, not the regular season.

What a true shame. The features are gone. No more condensed videos. No more highlights. NO POST SEASON, WHICH EXPIRES AT REGULAR SEASON END EVEN IF YOUR TEAM IS STILL IN IT. For $19.99 you get nothing. Just stupid AM quality audio, which is not even archived anywhere.
To unsubscribe you go Settings>iTunes and App store>subscriptions>MlbAtBat>cancel auto renew
What a shame.
