Shame on you for removing features, deleting information and charging a subscription fee! 1/5
This app does save time, but being a long time user I remember when it was all free and the free features now cost subscription. The developers did not add any functionality. Only removed it and charge you to get it back. Shame! on! you! for removing functionality and then charging for it! The app is blatantly obvious about this regression as it only gives me the choice to “delete” or “pay.” This is bad karma for the App Store. What happens when all apps change scope and cost at a moments notice?
Furthermore this app saves the Customs Immigration people time and staffing. How that cost gets passed onto the end user...I cannot understand.
Talk about Saving Time 5/5
Arrived in JFK with 300+ other people. They went right to wait in line for I would guess 30-45 minutes. I went left and waited less than 2 minutes before seeing an agent in the booth and zip, I’m on my way for a taxi.
Goodbye Long Lines 5/5
Downloaded this app before I left the US. When I got back, I used it to by pass the lines. Felt like VIP.
Easy to complete and through passport control in less than ten minutes.
Was able to get through customs in less than 5 minutes.
No waiting in line 5/5
Great time saver, however waiting for bags may nullify it. I took comfort in the fact that I can use my phone while I wait.
Best app ever!! Get it if u don’t! 5/5
I love love love this mobile pass!! I was the last one off the plane but the first one at gettin my bags!! Best thing created!!! So tired last thing I want to do is stand in long lines.
Fantastic program 5/5
Works brilliantly. I find it a bit ridiculous you need to now pay them to not delete your info each time but still a great timesaver.
Download this app. 5/5
I really can’t say enough good about this app. If you travel, download it.
Zipped through 5/5
Yes right through in less than 5 min
Great app. Not worth $15 per year 1/5
If they charged $15 for 5 years, or say $25 one time fee lifetime, I’d pay it. But $15 per year, NO WAY, given that it takes 30 seconds to enter my data, and many of the few point of entries don’t have it manned or properly implemented - as you can read from many other reviewers. It is half baked at most airports, causing even more delays.
Super fast... 5/5
By The Guillo
To be honest I might be hurting myself because it was fast and keeping it as a secret means less people in the line 😉
Easy as pie! 5/5
By garage door masta
Made it through the line in 5 min or less at Atlanta airport.
Worked perfect 5/5
I was through customs faster than my parents who both have global entry!
Worked great 5/5
After a moment of not knowing exactly which line to get into we realized it was the shortest one. We got right through security. It worked really well. I wish the baggage claim situation could be as easy.
Saved me no time... actually took me longer 1/5
I went to the clearly marked Mobile passport line at BOS. While waiting there I was redirected to the normal line because they changed the lane to “crew only.” They made me go to the back of the normal line even though I kept telling them I had mobile passport.
Total waste of time.
Very slow. Highly disorganized 5/5
Needs to improve
The most useful app to get through customs!! 5/5
Our layover was only for 2 hours, we still had to pick up our bags and re-check them in to the airline. We were really tight on time because the lines to get through to customs were so long. With this app we skipped everybody in line and were the only ones in line for the epassport. Amazing app!
Great App 5/5
It was awesome. The quickest I have ever gone through US customs.
Great App, excellent service 5/5
Very helpful, love it.
Easy peazy lemon squeezy 5/5
Downloaded the app before we traveled—One person with the app can do the whole family. When the custom papers were passed out on the airplane, we passed the phone with the app around and had all five of us enter our information. It said you could submit within 4 hours of arriving at your destination. Ours wouldn’t submit, probably because I forgot to get on the airlines WiFi, but we submitted it inside the airport in literally moments. There were only a handful of other passengers waiting in line. Great time saver!
Don’t use at JFK 1/5
It took way longer than to use . We should have used the regular line .
The wretched face of public/private partnerships 1/5
I was an evangelist of this app until their "premium features" rolled out that include fear mongering you that the free version of the app is somehow unsafe (what, really!?), they disabled passport scanning (obnoxiously increasing error rates on submission), and the ability to save your details or future travel. There's no reason-- other than corruption-- that this shouldn't be a public service funded by tax dollars rather than a life-long profit center for someone getting a greased contract. 🔥👹
Two-legged Stool 1/5
By Some Schmo
Unless you pay, the app is barely functional, requiring everything to be manually re-entered on each use!
Best app in the App Store 5/5
I recommended it for all my friends and family!
Excellent experience 5/5
By Owlr review
Easy to use and fast tracked through immigration
Saved time 5/5
What a life saver this app is , it saved us standing inline by 2 plus hours at JFK yesterday, glad we had it!!!!!
First time using Mobile Pass app at ATL 1/5
I used the app for the first time yesterday when returning to the US from Germany and the Mobile Pass line took us straight to a manned kiosk where we had to get our picture taken again and answer questions. There was a hand written sign on the glass of the kiosk where the officer sat that said “put your phones away, we do facial recognitioning the old fashioned way.” When I mentioned Mobile Pass they just shook there head no and took my picture and asked the same questions as on the app.
Maybe shorter? 3/5
Maybe it’s just my airport but this seemed to take a little longer to scan everyone’s phones instead of just giving them a slip
Worth the Annual Subscription 5/5
I haven’t used it at any of the other airports, but it saves a lot of time every time I use it IAH. One thing that would speed up the process even more would be to make sure everyone using Mobile Passport understands that they still must show their physical passport. Quite a bit of time was wasted waiting for people to dig out their passports from their luggage while talking to the immigration officers. The FAQs address this, but maybe it would help to include a reminder after the user submits.
Mobile Pass Chicago 2/5
I tried this app yesterday (May 23, 2019) upon entry from a flight from Frankfurt. I did not save anytime at all as the mobile pass line was closed. The staff were moving people around and put mobile pass people in and he same line as people entering on visas. I would have been better off in the general line for US citizens. The app does not work if there is no dedicated line for mobile pass. The app was easy to use but execution failed due to entry management at the hall.
Wickedly Fast 5/5
We loved it. We only had one person ahead of us and then we were out TEN minutes ahead of our luggage.
Fast convenient way to get through customs
Upgrade to 3.0 is a downgrade 2/5
This was a useful app but in version 3 they took away the ability to store your own information on your own device. Now you have to pay for that! This makes the app much less useful so I reduced my rating from 4 stars to 2.
MOBILE PASSPORT MIAMI AIRPORT 3/5
Ive used it several times and its been great, but miami airport was terrible yesterday. Had to wait almost 15min. And i was the first in line out of 6 people.
No hassle! Guard said go through.
So fast! 5/5
Definitely worth downloading. You don’t need to fill out any forms on the plane just the few questions on the app. We skipped the whole line and made through customs in a flash!
Amazing experience 5/5
I had an hour layover at JFK connecting from London to my domestic regional flight and if I hadn’t used the mobile passport I would not have made my connecting flight.
Works good but upgrade fee is steep 4/5
Pros: app worked great and I had plenty of time to fill out the form and submit it after we landed but before deplaning. Went through separate line at JFK and cruised right through to the disgruntled CBP officer so I could annoy him for making him do his job. Didn’t even need to show him the scan code on my phone because it’s all tied to your passport number. Would definitely use again.
Cons: the upgrade fee is $15/year which enables you to scan your passport instead of typing it in (which you would do once every 10 years I guess but who know what the technology will look like then) and store your passport info because otherwise it only persists for 4 hours and then you have to re-enter it. You would think both of these features would increase accuracy and reduce errors which would help the whole system work better so does it really make sense to charge for them and make it a subscription? I can see a one time fee up front or maybe a small per use fee but for $15/yr I might as well do global entry, which I don’t do because I’m not a frequent traveler.
Not pleased by new HIGH fee 1/5
I thought this was a great app. But now they ask for a high ANNUAL fee to store your scanned passport.
Highly Recommend 5/5
App is great and simple to use! I was able to get through customs in less than 5 minutes. I’m still amazed!
I’ve used iPhone since 2009 and this is my first review 5/5
I love this app. So much. I travel plenty and I’m always slapped with a huge X atop my form because I apparently share my very unique name with someone else... resulting in wasting hours of my life in a TSA line at JFK. This app spared me that pain — I put in all my details and took my own selfie, submitted it while I was still waiting for my flight to let us get off the plane, and ultimately skipped *hundreds* of people the moment I told an agent that I have Mobile Passport. All I could do was laugh when I walked off and realized I never have to suffer that line again.
First Time and It Didn’t Work 1/5
I purchased the app for my trip back from the UK. It took over 3 times to submit my information. Each time I had to start from the beginning again. Then once I got to customs in Newark I was told that the system was down and I had to wait in another line. To sum it up —
1. The application did not work
2. The application caused me to waste over 1.5 of my time
3. I had money stolen by this non-functioning App
A complete waste of time and money. Run away from this app as fast as you can and never look back again.
The app has improved over time 5/5
By D. Ro
When the app was first available, I had so much trouble with connecting to it long enough to register my passport information. This was in MIA about 4 years ago. Since then, they have improved the app exponentially! I just arrived to JFK yesterday and I was able to log in, provide my new passport information, and attach a photo, all before reaching the gate!
Mobile pass 5/5
Excellent.Very Quick & Time Saving.
Got out in 3 minutes
Has gone down hill 1/5
It was a great app when the free version used to save your passport data. Now they want $15 a year to do the same. I will be deleting this app from my phone.
Bait and pay 1/5
As an early adopter, I was very excited about this.
Until the recent plus nonsense.
Don’t use users (early testers/guinea pigs) then slam us with “plus feature” everywhere around the app.
