Food database leaves A LOT to be desired 2/5
Only reason I’m using this is because it tracks macros with more detail than myfitnesspal, but the food database is very inaccurate and it is very difficult to add food. I essentially have to add everything manually or spend 5-7 minutes finding basic things like milk or rice. I’ve decided to go back to myfitnesspal which is just an easier user experience. I’ve been tracking food off and on for long enough to be able to determine how many grams of the big three macros I’ll need each day. Besides, there are many calculators online that do this for free based on your current body weight and activity level. This app’s hassle isn’t worth the small gain of having more visibility to gram tracking in order to avoid myfitnesspal’s subscription. And on that note, if you’ve been inactive on myfitnesspal and/or deleted it for long enough you can get a new offer for a free one month trial anyway.
All data gone after iPhone upgrade 5/5
I’ve been using the app for a few days and love it. It is clearly designed with the IIFYMer in mind.
Easy to use. Barcode scanner works great. Takes only a few seconds to add a custom food. Love that I can copy and paste meals from previous days. (I tend to eat certain meals over and over again.)
In a way, I find the app really fun because I see my macros for the day at the top and how close I am to reaching them. Starts off as an alarming red in the morning (Gotta eat!), then warms up to green as you get closer to your daily goals.
Feedback: Show fiber as a featured daily macro along with P, C and F. (You can view daily fiber, but you have to go to the daily totals for all nutrients to see it.)
Foods hard to find 2/5
Foods are really hard to find. For example, I have to scroll through a hundred things to get a regular hard boiled egg
Love this app 5/5
This is by far in my experience the best app there is when tracking your food . I prefer it over my fitness pal which has a lot of inaccurate data . My macros is very good for beginners new to tracking and very user friendly . Their support team is always so helpful and quick to getting back with any questions . I seriously couldn’t live without this app
Painfully inconvenient 1/5
This app is so frustrating to use. The barcode doesn’t recognize a lot of foods. I have had to add my food based on ingredients and obviously that is sometimes incomplete if you have to order out or get prepackaged prep meals. It also doesn’t carry any of the newer brands of food that supply meals. If you cook every single bit of your own food, this app is okay at best. But if you are on the go, this app is not for you.
Hard to learn 5/5
Still struggling to figure out the app. Would like some pages to close out when done editing. Little things I’m use to with other apps
Much much better than myfitness pal. Calories and protein seem more on spot with this app
Great App and Great Customer Service 5/5
Simple yet very useful application, does exactly what it states it does. The team is very helpful when it comes to any assistance needed.
Database is Non Existent 1/5
I signed up for MM+ only because I’m working with a coach who syncs to it. I’ve used MFP and LoseIt and MM+ by far has the worse database of all the apps. For example, I tried searching for an English muffin this morning and one from a restaurant came up. It is easy to scan your food but if you’re searching for a fresh food or an item off a menu be totally prepared to input it manually. The interface is nice graphically but the $19 premium is NOT worth it as nothing loads and works online. But really for me, ease of use and ability to track quickly are key and the lack of foods in the database makes this app horrible.
Best tracking app ever! 5/5
This thing seriously rocks. My life is 1000x easier when MM+ does all the math for me
Search is frustrating 3/5
I downloaded this app to get a more customized experience than MyFitnessPal but I might just switch back. It’s not as user friendly although once you understand the layout and where everything is it’s not too bad (although at the moment I don’t see a place I can track my workout without having to buy another app). The search is pretty terrible. It’s a little slow and it’s hard to find what you’re actually looking for. For example, searching for “honey” the first hit is for a “carved turkey on honey oat.” I searched for coconut aminos and the first hit was “beef aminos” followed by 3 bean turkey chili. The barcode scanning also doesn’t find much of what I’ve tried to scan so far (I use a lot of store brand Trader Joe’s and Wegmans items). It be great if there was a “lite” version of this app as I think I would have liked to test this out before buying. And I’ll probably go back to using MyFitnessPal.
Not User-Friendly! 1/5
It should not be so difficult to enter a food item and edit quantity/portion. SO AGGRAVATING and TIME CONSUMING!
Data base is limited and weird in that you have to choose an item (if you can find it in the first place) with a preset portion size. This is extremely counterintuitive.
Going back to Carb Manager, works so much better without all the hassle.
Can’t figure out how to delete 1/5
Need to delete
Please add dark mode option 2/5
The latest updates have really changed the look and feel of the app, for the worse. Please add a dark mode option; it is much easier on the eyes and looks way better. Many apps in iOS13 are adapting for dark mode.
Also, if I leave the app open in the background, it will not move to a new day automatically, it still shows my meals from the previous day. Therefore, I have to close and re-open the app.
But the main thing is—please add dark mode!
Best tracking and customer support 5/5
I’ve been using this app for 2.5 years now and can’t live without it. I’ve been able to add my own customized recipes and food and have created a pretty hefty database in that timeframe. I updated my iPhone OS a few days ago and thought I lost everything! I tried the download and sync of content which failed. I contacted support and received a reply within minutes and the data was all uploaded back. I was able to download all my personal tracking back.
Over the years the app has had many UI updates and other changes to make it even more user friendly and easy to track. Get this app if you’re looking for a way to log food and track your macros but more so to know it’s all safe. Love My Macros+!!!!
Not the best 2/5
Foods are hard to search for. For example ground beef pulled up everything but actual ground beef. Also there are no restaurants listed if you try to search by restaurant name. Very disappointing for a paid for app.
All of my meals and goals are gone and I paid for this App
Lacks in every way 2/5
Barcode scanner is useless. Rarely finds foods in the database, so I have to manually add everything.
Search is a pain. Never know how to word things. If it’s not worded exactly the way search engine liked it will show nothing. If it likes how you worded it, you get a hundred responses.
The upgrades have made the screen a busy mess.
I use it a few days and get so frustrated I quit. Then try again, then get frustrated and quit. I’m about to go back to my fitness pal.
Mostly awesome app 4/5
I would love a body fat % tracker built into the app and it would be nice to visit a friends daily meal and save individual food items rather than saving the whole meal.
Aside from that, I love the app so far.
No stars on this app it can’t even calculate my macros correctly 1/5
Great app, great customer service! 5/5
I’ve been using MM+ for about 9.5 months. Along with help from my nutrition coach, I’ve lost almost 40lbs! The app is really great in helping me keep accurate track of what I’m eating and my macro goals. So many great features. The best is that the developers continue to listen to users and every update they have done has been helpful and worthwhile.
I recently had to restore my phone, and although I did a back up before that, my data was all gone from the app when my phone was fixed. I reached out to customer service and Savannah gave me instructions on how to get all my data back (months of food logging, custom recipes, etc) and it worked! I’m so grateful to the MM+ team for their help!!
Hard to search 1/5
App is great tracking if you find things, but it’s hard to find ..I was typing in baked potato and got no results ...I may be doing it wrong ..app should be able to be linked with fit bit like the app my fitness pal....water tracking is good though
Great App 4/5
I love using this app. Makes tracking macros easy. And I have used many other apps in the past. I love being able to scan the barcode instead of having to type in the nutritional info. Customer service is very helpful & fast as well. I highly recommend!
Works great 4/5
By Frank Durocher
This app works incredibly well and I love how the developers have shown promise in recent updates to the design and functionality. My ideas for needed improvements: allow us to track a NET carb macro, and the Apple Watch seriously needs a complication.
App is Alright, Website is TERRIBLE 1/5
I got a new phone. The app wouldn’t sync so I had to delete and re-download. My macro goals are still in the app, which is nice because I’ve had so many slight changes over the last 7 months of using this app. Sadly, my 200+ day streak is gone! Might as well not even bother using this app.
Additionally, there is a massive flaw with the quality of data in the app. It’s practically the Wikipedia of food logging. Anyone can put anything in the library, and it’s rarely verified. Food with fiber is not filled out properly, for example, so it looks like I have eaten less fiber than I really have.
I’ll probably be switching back to My Fitness Pal.
The app is decent, and now that I’ve spent months building recipes, custom items, etc. I feel like it would be a waste to try a different app. Adding recipes on the app is pretty clunky. You have to make sure all individual ingredients have been previouslt entered/scanned by someone or else you have to delete the recipe to add the item and start all over. There is no draft option for the recipes.
Adding recipes on the app IS A COMPLETE WASTE! You can search for an ingredient, but adding it to the recipe is impossible. There is no “add”, “done”, “next” button or anything to actually add an ingredient to a recipe let alone add many ingredients. Pretty frustrating.
Not accurate 1/5
When I scan I need to change the info 90% of the time, it does not match the label.
Stop messing with the app we love! 2/5
With the constant layout changes it’s gone from clean, simplistic and easy to use, to looking like a display on a kid’s toy tablet. If you wanna make changes, there should be an option to change the “theme” so people who like the old layout can continue to see their nutrition the way the wanna see it!
And now with better UI 5/5
This app has always well done functionality wise, but the UI was lacking. The recent UI update was definitely a step in the right direction. Keep it up!
Awesome App 5/5
I use this app and my wife uses MyFitnessPal. I looked over their configuration and layout it, it seems more complicated. This app has more flexibility when it comes to inputting food nutrition over MyFitnessPal.
Definitely an important addition to the workout routine.
Why pay for this???? 2/5
Just another macro app, but paying for this one. Recipes? Meh. Bachelor food. Ick Meal planning? Painful. Can I just plan a weekly meal plan and then copy and paste it day to day? Nope, have to put it in a day (whether I eat it that day or not), then copy and paste it each day I want to use it. Can’t do a week plan and then adjust, who has time for this. Pretty much remember what day I ate that meal and go back to it. Ridiculous. Food list is propagated with the same items 20 times over, for example Hunts tomato paste, over and over and over. Put in “tomato” and there’s no smart sorting between a fresh tomato or tomato as an ingredient. What is supposed to set this apart from MFP? Pretty much just the cost. Can’t believe anybody is rating this app with anything over 3 stars. And that’s being generous.
I’ve had this app for a few years and really liked it. But now they are constantly changing the layout of the app and it’s very annoying.
It looks different almost every week. It used be so much better and easier to use. Please stop playing with it, leave it alone.
Hands down best nutrition tracker 5/5
Extremely user friendly, hands down better than MFP, and customer service was amazing when I switched phones and couldn’t access all my data. I don’t like paying for apps, but this one was definitely well worth the $!
Big step backwards! 2/5
Latest version includes interface changes that degrade usability. For starters, the food item name and amount are now on the same line with very little room for the amount. So if the amount is more than a few characters, the only way to read it is to open the food edit screen which at least has a "Back" button to cancel. Most other screens force you to swipe down. If you're aim is off you end up in the iPhone Notification Center. I could go on -- especially the bad changes on the weight screen -- but the bottom line is nearly every cosmetic change in the version makes it harder to use. Please change it back!
Great functionality but lose manual nutritional info 3/5
By whispering wallaby
I love how easy this app is to use. I’ve used it on and off for about 4 years now and it’s great except for one thing. Every time I’ve switched phones or updated the app I’ve lost all my manually added nutritional info. If your really serious about counting macros you want to know your info is correct so you add a lot of stuff yourself. To lose that information and all the saved recipes that make counting calories super easy is a massive headache to re-enter every time. If that issue were fixed I’d give this 5 stars.
Way better than MyFitnessPal 5/5
I love the way this app is structured. MyFitnessPal feels extremely all over the place and it caused me to overthink every macro to the gram. This app makes it so much better from a visual stand point and it's more cut and dry. MyFitnessPal is way overboard on information overload. No thank you. mm+ is where it's at!
Hang tight 1/5
Because MyFitness Pal doesn’t have a thing to worry about from this app. Wicked disappointed. How this has so many 5 star reviews is questionable. Terrible app. Vegan? Good luck finding any vegan foods in this app. Heck good luck finding anything. Like we really want to spend all day putting in our own foods. Horrible food tracker!
Lacking App connections still in 2019 2/5
By Jorge Ledesma
I generally like the application but it seems to be missing standard features other apps in this category have. It would be great to connect to the iOS health app, no Polar Flow, no Fitbit, no Garmin, in short no connections everything is manual. Nowadays, there are a plethora of Bluetooth scales which interact with other apps of this category. Here in Macro + inputting weight is also a manual process. Of course all this is solved by taking advantage of the health iOS API’s it’s a bit disheartening to have a great app sort of sabotage by missing basic features like steps counted, exercise calories and more.
Best tracking app! 5/5
I hadn’t heard of this app before but it looked like one of the few that allowed macro tracking. Manually adding food at first was a bit time consuming but there have been a lot of enhancements lately. It’s much better, the look and use ability. It surprised me in the best way. I love this app!! I also like that it has an option to automatically adjust calories for you if you are making progress through extra coach feature). You can calculate and recalculate your macros with a built in calculator and can have different plans to choose from, which comes in handy when carb cycling. Really happy with this. If it synced with Fitbit it would be even better.
Great app 5/5
This is an easy to use app for keeping track of macros!
Love the update, bbuutttttt.... 4/5
The decision to put white typing on a light grey background for the search bar in the customs and favs section was not well thought out. I cannot read what I am typing AT ALL. Pleas change the font to a darker color.
Love this app! 5/5

I was tired of paying the yearly fee for MFP after 2 years I switched to this! This does almost everything that the premium MFP does but for 2.99! It took me a while to get used to switching formats, but I actually like this format better now. I also just signed up for the additional monthly coaching option & so far I have really liked it! I'm very grateful for this app!!
By Wilson's mama
Nothing ever bar code scans in correctly. Super annoying.
Great support 5/5
I have used this app for over a year and I love it. I bought a new phone and all of my data including every recipe I built and every food I logged was gone. I emailed the support team and they answered within a day and after a little back and forth got all of my data back. Super responsive and quick fix! Definitely worth the one time fee for the app that lets you customize/change your macros without a monthly fee. Thanks Jason!
Not really worth it 2/5
The number of selections for food for this app is limited. Perhaps the app still needs time and contribution from users to get up to speed. Ive used other apps that are free that does what this app charges you to do. At the end of the day, its simply not worth purchasing this app when there are other apps that can do the same function for free. The other app i now use has almost every food items i can think of, from specific types of sandwiches from several restaurants to some obscure asian dish. This one app? It will help you track macros on simple ingredients like if you just eat an egg...wish i never spent my money on the app
Really well done and frequently updated app 5/5
I’ve been using this macro tracker app for over a year and absolutely love it. Easy to add in new foods, update existing values, build recipes etc.
It’s also updated quite frequently which is great.
SO useful 4/5
This is by far the best app I have tried for tracking macros. It has a huge database for food, and adding your own custom food is super, super easy. I love that you can search for things by meal, macro or frequency. The customer service is also excellent - if you email with a question, they get back to you quickly and thoroughly (and they are also just super nice!). I do wish you could permanently change the order of your meals, and that you had the option to save an entire meal as a recipe. Other than that, it’s amazing. Highly recommend!
Edit - one other thing! It would be really nice to have the option to fast for a day without having to use a vacation day for it. I’d prefer to save those for days when I’m eating outside of my goals!
Very helpful 5/5
I’ve used this app for several years and it works great
Most of the brands I eat are not available in the app. Difficult to navigate. Only thing I really like is the way the macros section is set up, but there is no way to add foods if you know the macros, only by ingredient. Generally disappointed.
Better Than The Rest 5/5
This app is perfect and only getting better.
I switched from my fitness pal to this my macros when it first started and have stuck with them since.
The new update is sharp looking as well.
They are always improving this for their consumers. 🔥🤘🏼
