I want my money back 1/5
This is the worst app I’ve ever used. Every time I open it, it asks me to sync across devices. You can’t set goals or see how close you are to meeting your macros unless you pay a monthly fee. You can’t even add multiple servings of a food unless you pay extra. SCAM! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!
Not worth it 1/5
Honestly, it’s very amateur. Not many updates have been done since I got it 2 years ago. No normal foods are on here, just a bunch of stuff from Trader Joe’s. The barcode scanner RARELY works. For the money, just go to my fitness pal.
I don’t have the time to input everything I eat because non junk food is not in the database. One egg...in ounces? Database of 500,000 foods all repetitive but incorrect amounts. Make drop downs that a food can be inputted correctly, please. Half of a raw avocado, sliced...not an option, just mashed or cubed option...I don’t have the time to put in all my foods separately and then figure out the macro nutrients. I thought that was what this app would do?
Not good 1/5
By J kickin it
It’s hard to navigate and it has a very small food bank. Can’t figure out how to change the weight.
If you’re used to My Fitness Pal but looking to get more detailed , maybe this could be it? But the learning curve is seriously frustrating. Changing from grams to ounces, cup to ounces-ugh...searching is tedious....it takes longer to log my food than to eat it.
A few flow points to fix. Responsive Customer service 4/5
The archive of past meals is retrieve through the settings window, sync now, download all minuscule link. Glad I got my content back. Flow can be reworked to make important items more accessible. Look and feel is a step up.
Food Search 2/5
The food search is limited and returns dozens of unrelated finds when the global is on. If global is off very few results. I am a MyFitnessPal user and the macro customization is why I tried it. Way too time consuming to try to get your foods into the tracker. I wasted my money. I do like the macro customization.
Constantly having issues with this app. Never syncs properly with my iPad and now the app on my phone is all screwed up where I only see the left side of the app not my meals for the day. So frustrating.
Best Macro Track App Available 5/5
I have tried several different apps and none of them beat My Macros+.
Best One 5/5
Between the barcode scanner and the ability to customize just about everything this is a lifesaver. It takes a while to get proficient at getting around but that’s the trade off of having all the bells and whistles (which I use almost all of them) and it being simple but too limited. Really top notch and I’ve looked at a bunch.
FAR BETTER Than My Fitness Pal 5/5
It’s not even close. For those who have the desire to accurately track their macros/micros this App is the best. I was so fed up by the mathematical errors and just flat out missinformation on MFP that I had to look elsewhere and I did not want to back to manual spreadsheets. Look no further! It’s worth the price for full functionality as well.
Exporting into excel is breeze if you’re an athlete needing to send to a coach or just the detailed inclined.
Having been a longtim user of MFP...it did take some transition or adjustment time. But after a week or two inputing some data I could not have been happier!
Didn’t like it 2/5
Asks if I want to sync to all devices every time I open the app. Also isn’t user friendly. Starts to get annoying. Just because it’s called macro tracker, doesn’t mean it’s better. Opt for my fitness pal.
Loyal User but Needs Improvement 3/5
Developers need to stop adding useless features and add things that matter. For example, sure you can have various nutrition goals that allow you to cycle but why is there no option to preprogram a week of carb cycling? That makes no sense. I don’t want to have to switch out every day. And database needs work no matter what you say.
Purchased for the macro coach then wants you to be monthly to use the feature what’s the point of paying to download the app if you have to pay more to use the features.
Seriously awesome. 5/5
By Jezuzz Chryzd
THE easiest way to stay on task with your nutrition/fitness goals. The custom food entries are crucial. Once you take the time to add all the main foods that you eat through out an average week the rest is smooth sailing.
Barcode scanner 1/5
0 stars !!! If you edit the amount from 1 serving to 4 servings it divides it instead of multiples it. And you can’t go back once it divides it. I’m doing trig problems to get the info right every time . What a waste . I’ll use the free app and input my own info. So it’s actually correct
Not for beginners 1/5
This app is terrible if you are new to food tracking. Nothing about it is user friendly. They forced me to put in my last 5 days of macros counts in order to start my profile. Well if you are brand new then you won’t have those counts! The food library is a joke.
Best Tracking app EVER! 5/5
I love this app. It tracks everything so much more accurately than any other apps I’ve tried. I use all the features and don’t have a single complaint about any of them!
Most Intuitive Macro App 4/5
By New To IPhone (330)
A great app for Macro focused tracking. Your macros are prominently displayed at the top while showing amount left throughout the day. Very intuitive for me. I switched over from MyFitness Pal for this reason.
Only reason I didn’t give it 5 Stars is, because the food database isn’t quite as extensive as I was hoping. However, the bar scanner usually picks up what I have. If you do have to enter it manually it will stay in your personal database then you can always use that entry; so that’s nice.
Got me on track 5/5
I have tried several times to figure out Macro counting. It took this app and my trainer for it to finally make sense!!
Fast forward to today. I upgraded my phone and lost all my data. I emailed Macro+ at 10pm on a Saturday not thinking I would hear anything until Monday. Not more the 15 mins later I had an email back explaining how to fix the problem!! They saved the day!! Thanks Macro+
I don’t think this apt is user friendly and it confusing
Can’t live without. 5/5
If you don’t love this app it’s because you’re using it wrong. If you take the time to learn how to use it the right way your life will be so much easier. The features blow the other tracking apps out of the water.
Plus, the developers are amazingly responsive and helpful.
I like it but still needs work. 1/5
By Rap Junkie
Where did the macro counter go? You guys are charging now? I paid for the macro counter
Not user friendly 1/5
Not user friendly and it seems you can only add quantities in grams.
Not worth paying for 2/5
This app is definitely not worth paying for. You have to put everything in manually even nothing that comes up is ever correct.
My macros app 5/5
I’m not much of a review guy.... BUT, I must say I am very happy with this app. I never liked its competitor(s) interface, however I found “my macros” to be very easy and perfect for me. The best part though, is that it has a small business vibe. There has been two occasions were my data has been lost, I’m not concerned with the why. However I’m very impressed with the how, and by how I mean how they resolved the problem. Mind you, I left the account dormant for a couple years, so it’s no surprise that updates happened or whatever else takes place in the app world. All I know, is both times I emailed, and both time Jason himself responded and found a way to correct and reload all of my saved data, much of which was manually input. SO... why?? I don’t know and I don’t care. All I know, is the app is good and nothing’s perfect, but IF there’s a problem I can count on them fixing it. And that’s all I can ask for from any professional. So thank you and yes I love and recommend this app over others.
I’m so disappointed by the app, Wanted to add foods or material since the bar code isn’t working, but can’t even add a mini peach tomato in it, So difficult to add nutrition manual, so useless, I would love to have refund for this app not going to use it
Disappointed and feel tricked 1/5
Use mfp, works perfect for what I want, except tracking the macro part. I purchased this to track macros, seems like I have to pay extra for that, which if I would have known, I would have passed on this app. Should be upfront in the beginning. Unless I missed something completely...dissatisfied.
Don’t waste your time or money 1/5
Although My Fitness Pal has shortcomings, at least it’s functional. This app doesn’t search/find common recipe components. Very frustrating to use compared to other trackers.
I can’t even get the FAQ to display the answer on how to delete my account! C’mon. Send me a refund for this crappy app.
Money Grab 1/5
$3 app that basically requires $10/month subscription. Give me my three dollars back...
Best macro app ever! 5/5
This app is a HUGE help. Very easy to use and helps me track my food intake accurately. Well worth the money.
New to macros 4/5
It’s a little complicated and cumbersome to add but I’m figuring it out
Not worth it the money there’s better free apps 1/5
So in order to use the macros tracker you have to pay 9 bucks a month. The app also Has a very small library of foods and most of them are brand named frozen foods
My fitness pal works much better and it’s free
Solid App! 5/5
By Manny De Leon
I definitely like this App, it shows promise and is easy to use. The developer listens to feedback and that! says a lot! 5 stars!!
It gets the job done. There is a little learning curve but once you get it, it is pretty awesome. I used consistently for 5 months now and had a inputted a specific macros plan. It got me the results I wanted and now I use it to keep in check with my goals. The barcode scanner has some opportunities but works. I mainly have to manually input my food but at least that way I know it is correct.
not worth it - only really works if you upcharge 1/5
I'm not a fan. there are other programs out there that don't nickle and dime you like this on. I'm annoyed that cost me money in the first place to barely work without paying more money.
Good app 5/5
Easy to use
Horrible food database 1/5
Barcode scanner doesn’t pick up 85% of the things I scan and I have to manually input almost every item that I eat. Frustrating that you have to buy an app then realize its C- quality
Very good app 5/5
Very good app, easy to track macros, large variety of food no stress!
Food library not as good as other free apps 3/5
Food library is not as good as other apps that are free and it’s annoying that you can’t just add a custom food without putting in the entire recipe. So for example. You can’t add “Mexican egg scramble” or whatever and enter in the nutrition info without actually creating the recipe and putting in every ingredient. App is just ok
Paid for Pro to replace MFP - Disappointing 1/5
I paid for Pro version to replace MFP pro.
In the two days I’ve had it, the inputs I’ve put in on my computer haven’t synced with my phone, even though I synced them. I emailed support and only received the “here’s how to sync” instructions”. Gee, thanks.
Then I couldn’t log in. So I reset the password. And now I still can’t log in. $19.99 down the drain.
Wish I hadn’t bought this 1/5
Haven’t even gotten to dinner on my first day, and I’m done with this app. Have used free macro calc apps that were much easier and convenient than this.
My issues with this app:
1. NONE of the barcodes I scanned had correct macros in their database. I scanned 3 different items I had for breakfast and one for lunch, and none of the macros matched what was on the package.
2. I added lunch, breakfast disappeared. What happened ? Where did it go?
3. It’s clunky trying to add custom foods and meals. Asks you if you want to add to today, but then automatically adds to the last meal even though I was trying to set up lunch. Have to go in and change it.
4. Many issues with portions when adding custom foods. The app automatically changed certain things about portion, and I had to work at it far too long to correct the issue.
Changed my life 5/5
A bit of a pain in the arse at first, but once you start to see the rapid results, you’ll never go back. I used this to start my keto journey, and it’s awesome. It feels so great to know where I am and if I can have “more.”
Love it! 5/5
I love this app so much! Better than my fitness pal!
Best app so far for customizing macros. Love it.
Why is this app so hard to use? I keep trying to add something that they don’t have and it won’t save the information I put in !
Do not download 1/5
By Two strike
Tried to delete this app and stop the auto pay. Nearly impossible and no help from them.
Lost data 2/5
I’ve had this app before and stopped using it since I had been religiously using MyNetDiary. I had been tracking here as much as possible since the first of March. I wanted to customize my meals better. somehow I lost all of my data... not just from the first of month but everything that I had entered from prior use! As customizable as this can be, it’s a huge hassle coming from other apps 😑
For Math it’s good 2/5
To keep this review simple.
This app is frustrating in that you can’t ever find anything.
1. It doesn’t have restaurant menus listed (loaded) already like MyFitnessPal does.
2. Barcode scanner never works.
3. The numbers of things such as Grams, and Ounces are always way off and weird. You’ll scan something and even though the serving size says 12 Ounces for example it will come up with 1 Ounce.
I personally would rather pay for the upgraded MyFitnessPal.
This app is good for visually seeing your macros and also saving different days such as a Refeed day or rest BUT you can do the same with upgraded MyFitnessPal. Put your money towards that.
