Great App 5/5
By Jamie Moffitt
This app is a great way to keep up with everything without guessing... Scan the Bar Code for your food and put in the amount of servings and good to go!!
Should fix the app 1/5
I downloaded the app and when I try to create an account or try signing in form my Map My Run informations it keeps bringing me back to the home page saying that they are unable to process the registration
Awesome App 4/5
By not ready to listen to their music
I love this app. It keeps you accountable and helps me with self control. I would give it 5 stars but I would really like to be able to save blogs to read at a later date.
Takes the guess work out of being healthy 5/5
I love this app because it takes the guesswork out of being healthy along with its sister app that tracks your exercise and combines it for calories. The only thing I wish is that there was a spot for supplements. I currently put them under snacks even though most apps have a snack spot between each meal or a bunch at the bottom. I wish there was more than one snack option so I could keep track of when and why I’m more ironed to snacking.
Life saver 5/5
So easy to use. I feel like a new person, being able to feel accountable for what I eat, going to bed not feeling bloated, and getting back into my clothes without buying new ones!

New update 3/5
Love the app but since the latest update it’s barely working. It keeps freezing up making it unusable. Please fit soon.
A little clunky but great overall 5/5
Great for keeping up with calories water and macros! They’ve got a huge selection of foods to log from restaurants.
Calories and workout tracker 5/5
By Samone Seng
This app has all you need to keep track of your calories and workouts
Accountability made easy 5/5
By far the best health app for tracking all your metrics. Easy to use and the ability to scan the bar code for your food is amazing.
MyFitnessPal is awesome. It helped me lose 60 lbs a couple years ago then I had a baby. So now it’s time to get back at it. Thanks MyFitnessPal!!
Good basic app 3/5
It easy to add the work outs and the foods how ever I which it will tell you more about the actual minerals and vitamins at least magnesium since already tells you your potassium intake it should tell you your magnesium as well since they are both just as important
Bring back the day’s total for macros 1/5
I love MyFitness Pal. Been using it for years, but why would you remove the day’s totals for macros at the bottom of the daily log. I want to know what I need at a glance, and since my macros vary by the day/workout I don’t use “remaining” feature. I know I can do a little math or click through to find the totals, I just don’t understand why you removed it.
Food Control 5/5
Great calorie counting app. It’s easy to use and helped me loose weight.
By Selena Gom
Took me 5 tries to get through creating an account. The app crashed, froze, or gave me an error every other time
support and integrity issues 3/5
Something seems to go wrong in the app every few weeks. Sometimes fixes occur in a month but many times longer. The functionality is different across ios and web implementations. The web funtionality has fallen way behind. I am not sure its even supported any more. Currently there is a bug adding a recipe to a meal, which I reported 3 days ago and have yet to hear from support. This app seriously needs a competitor.
Could be better 3/5
Amazing database of food items to look up. Cons - keeps reminding me to log meals when I already have. Apple watch app won't show any data. Too many advertisements. Biggest grievance: Why does it take me to the Home page every time I open the app? It should take me to the meal I want to log depending on the time of day. The main reason for using this app is to log food. It takes way too many clicks to add an item which deters people from logging after a while. I use force touch to add meals but it often pulls up the home page. Way too many things to click through to add a item. Developers need to return to basics and make it easier / quicker to log food.
Works well with myfitnesspal!
Waste of time 1/5
App has so many bugs, trying to record something in it takes multiple tries as error messages are more than common
Just ok 3/5
A lot of the food nutrient vslues are incorrect or non-existent.
For instance: Turkey and Cheese Sandwich= 0 Protein?
You have to add each ingredient separately which is a pain
Will bill you even without premium 1/5
Been billed for I don’t even know how long and never did a trial, or purchased premium and will not be given back my money. Do not recommend at all. Better apps for free anyways
Good way to keep basic track of eating 4/5
I find this app useful and I’ve used if for years. It’s pretty basic (at least the free version is) but it kinda has everything you need - calorie counter, macro-nutrient break-down, weight tracker, etc. I have never tried but I’m not sure if you can adjust your macro nutrient goals.
I have two problems. First, I find it difficult to edit my recipes. I usually end up recreating them if I change something. And I often can’t find caloric info for the foods from the restaurants/stores I frequent. I would hardly expect it to have that info for every dish from every local place but sometimes I’m surprised by what isn’t there and what is.
A lot of times when I enter or update a recipe, it fails to sync. It takes long enough entering it the first time, so having to start over us a huge inconvenience. Since I’m paying for the full version I expect better.
Password reset 1/5
By Elanor Kralj
What is the deal!! How many times do I need to hit forget my password for the email to come! This is Ridiculous
All around great app 5/5
Reliable, takes little time to get use to & the macros it tells you to follow are a good foundation to go off.
Email lost in space 1/5
I tried to sign up, the app locked up while loading my profile. Now it says I have an account but won’t let me login or reset my password. Had to delete it.

Premium user LOCKED OUT 1/5
Unable to log in “Alert: Invalid email or password”. I have used app since 2013 but is now a horrible frustrating app!!
10/1/18 I tried to log in but am locked out. I have tried logging in with no success. I paid for MFP Premium ($50.00) for over 8 years and now can’t access my records!! Was UNDER ARMOUR hacked??? Fix it!!
Best app to assist in weight loss 5/5
By am i an expert
Losing weight is simple. Less calories intake than burned. The problem is I never had any idea how many calories I was consuming. Since using this app I’ve lost 38 lbs and I believe 90% of that success is just from this app alone. Highly recommend.
Won’t let me in 3/5
Had an old account with the same email address so I go to log in. Says the address or password is invalid. So I try to make a new account, it says the email already exists. So I try to reset my password. Still says invalid. Tries to sign up with Facebook instead, SAYS ACCOUNT ALREADY EXISTS. Guys...seriously? Can you fix this?
My weight loss journey 5/5
Still learning my way around this app but I already really like it
Not sure what happened 3/5
As a premium subscriber I expect the app to work consistently, however these updates are consistently breaking what wasn’t broken to begin with. It worked perfectly for a year and now doesn’t show added totals at bottom of day,as well as glitches out some days entirely making the tracking useless. Luckily the website works but the app has become a crapshoot. Go back to what worked please.
User beware... calorie count is way off every day 1/5
This was a great app, but now there is a bug in it that makes it useless. The calorie count is HIGHER each day by 5-10%.
If protein and carbs have 4 calories each, and fat have 9, When I do the math based on the macros for each day, the number I get is usually about 75-200 calories lower than what this app is reporting.
Yesterday, I had 226 carbs, 161 protein, and 40 fat, which comes to 1908 calories. But the app says I ate 2079 calories, a difference of 171 calories. That’s a lot!
What good is a macro and calorie counting app if the numbers they report are wrong? Hopefully they’ll fix this soon...
Never subscribe to Premium! 1/5
I have never left a one star review, but this app is nefarious. You will never be able to get out of paying the annual fee the next time it rolls around, not without a ton of bureaucratic time wasted. Save yourself. I am so disappointed. The free app was fine - but the premium is a racket!
Not keeping up 2/5
I started using MFP in 2013. Since then, it’s become more and more glitchy, less likely to work the way it’s supposed to, and more likely to just fill your feed with ads.
I’ve tried everything to get my Apple health workouts to sync. My weight updates never sync. All my settings have been reset and set again. I’ve deleted and re-downloaded the app.
If anything, this latest update is slightly more responsive in real time, but still lacking in the functionality that used to make it my #1 social and accountability app, even over Facebook or instagram.
I’ve tried upgrading to premium, which seems to help restore some of the “basic” functions— but only some of the time. I’ve unsubscribed from premium, since the basic-level functions aren’t even operating properly, even when premium is paid for.
I keep coming back to this app as a reference and for the hopes that it’ll one day be as good as it used to be.
Food not syncing between devices 2/5

Bar code scanner is trash 2/5
The bar code scanner is terrible. No matter what it takes 4-5 minutes to get a barcode to scan. I checked the same items on another barcode scanning app, they scan in a fraction of a second. Also, give us the option to manually turn the flash on and off during scanning. I’m pretty sure half the time my barcodes won’t scan, it’s because the flash is on (for no good reason) in a well lit room, causing a strong reflection over a washed out barcode
By I noose
Latest version is slow to respond making it different to use.
Good but could be better 5/5
So far lost 23 pounds using this app. The only glitch that’s really bothering me right now is that it won’t let me see my weekly digest! It keeps telling me to login but it won’t even let me do that. Pls fix.
Keeps restarting my login streak. I’ve been living in for years. This is the 3rd time it has restated it. Just got notified I’ve made it 7 days in a row. Should be more like 4 years. Doesn’t track anything from my watch my steps are off. I struggle to get food tracked. I am about over this app.
Great Tracking AP! 5/5
By Jan Lassiter
My doctor told me that she wanted me to loose weight!😬😬😬. I was frustrated and felt defeated. I didn’t want to “join” another weight loss program and I didn’t want a point system again. MyFitnessPal has been perfect for me! Most of the food is in the food list. And if I stay on track with little devastations... I will meet my goal in 8 weeks! Thanks for the AP MyFitnessPal and thanks for the motivation to get healthy and well 👍🏾
Latest update is very glitchy 2/5
6/22/19 - It’s really hard to understand why I paid for Premium after some of these updates. The latest version may be the most problematic yet:
- Crashes and/or won’t sync when adding a new food or recipe (consistent problem)
- When adding a food to your day, you have to change your serving size blind because it auto scrolls to the bottom of the page and won’t stay on those fields (new problem)
Other features that are lacking:
- A way to copy a custom recipe or food, especially for Premium users. Many are paying because they count macros pretty tight, which means slight tweaks/variations to recipes and foods are common. But to add them to MFP requires you to start from scratch.
- Verified food database. Even entries with a green check mark are random and not reliable. Build a specific USDA food database. Have a better update process for chain restaurants.
- Bad barcode tracking. There is no way (or if there is, it’s not clear in the app) to correct a barcode entry. I have had barcodes pull up very random and incorrect foods and there’s no way to flag it. I have to go back through the usual “add a food” process but then the barcode never gets corrected.
Chat bot for FAQs 2/5
Update: concept is great but site has a lot of bugs and nutritional data needs to be curated.
By jut let me write the review
Terrible app.... generally fine at calculating calories and nutrition as well as good at reading food barcodes.... horrible for tracking calorie burning. Biggest issue is that it resets passwords every couple months and is awfully inconvenient!!
Ads/Premium Upsell 1/5
Used to be good before ua.. Cant focus on anything now constant nagging and ads for premium
Frustrating now, amazing at first 4/5
As of the new update, the steps didn’t calculate the calories that you burned while walking. Other than that the app has helped me tremendously. I lost 10 lbs. in 2 weeks
I haven’t had problems with this app. I gave it three stars but I just realized the update allows you to adjust your step goals. This makes me so happy. Thank You Thank You
