Great App 5/5
In a month I lost 6.8 lbs by using the app alone. I barely worked out, I just ate the amount of calories it said. Easy to use, easy to do. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to lose weight or be at a healthy weight!
10 years of success 5/5
By Northwest Bob
I have used this app for 10 years. It is simply the best. Especially the meal tracking.
Over engineering 2/5
This app is riddled with tabs, views, options, linkable apps etc.
Unfortunately, that is all at the cost of simple, user friendly, and visually appealing function.
Its like most modern apps where every tab is like a vomit of options that causes anxiety and no seamless ease for the main functions.
I used this app probably 5 or so years ago and it was great. I’ve been using the past 4 days and it seems to have gone backwards. It seems to be in beta mode. Not very user friendly. Very clunky. I like functionality more than the visually pleasing person but this is neither. It kinda makes the weight loss journey more tedious than helpful. I’m gonna go check out Lose It.
Get it if u want an eating disorder :) 2/5
Cool concept as an app but be careful cuz it is a big trigger for those prone to getting an eating disorder or those who already have disordered eating !!!
Beware of Multiple inaccurate entries 2/5
For the same food items! Users are allowed to enter nutritional data lacking verification of accuracy. Users may report the inaccurate food data, and add corrections, but the inaccurate entries remain. As you repeatedly use the same accurate entry it becomes the first option in your Frequent Foods.
Unfortunately MFP doesn’t seem to eliminate inaccurate data after correction reports from users. After correcting a Fast Food restaurant sandwich entry recently I still see the same inaccuracies. As a diabetic who counts carbohydrates there is a big difference between true carbohydrates at 57.8 grams with 551 calories and 62 grams with 700 calories!
Both are inaccurate and my correct report is 66 grams of carbohydrates with 630 calories.
I attempted to share this via “Contact” hoping someone would recognize the inherent frustration created along with obvious health risks if users fail validate the information presented and presume all entries are valid. Most Commercial restaurants have nutritional info on their websites so PLEASE insure accuracy before using any entry for user safety. I’m a Premium subscriber who has been using MFP for a few years.
Cannot iMessage food items anymore 3/5
By Blu Bear and Mayo
Ridiculous that they took this incredibly useful feature out. My wife and I used to search for a food to log, then send it to each other on iMessage so the other could log it also without having to search for it.
They removed this feature. Now I have to go into her food diary and to get the one food item I wanted from her diary, I have to copy the entire meal to my diary. Then I have to go to my diary and edit out the parts of the meal that I don’t need.
Why remove features when making improvements updates? How is less more?
Nutrient Count is so valuable! 5/5
My doctor has me counting fiber. MFP makes this so convenient! Iron, calcium and the macronutrients are very informative and eye-opening. Also, a vast library of foods. It’s great!! Thank you!
Great app but please sync water intake with Apple Health! 5/5
LOVE this app! Tried My Plate (poor database) and LoseIt! (too flashy) but this is the only app I was able to stick with.
My only request is that you make water intake registered in MFP sync (write to) with water intake in Apple Health.
App used to be more easier where you could scan your food. Can’t even do that now without paying for it. I would no longer recommend as it had way more available when free!
I hate this app. Stop.
Live this app! 5/5
It’s easy to use and sync with a lot of other apps and devices! It’s got some much data in it that any food you put in to add to your diary in search comes up. Life changer for sure.
Love it 5/5
No Functional Design 1/5
I used to have this app a couple of years ago and it was great. I reached my fitness goals and stopped using it. Since then, I’ve gained a few pounds I want to get rid of (I’ll blame it on COVID and not my bad eating habits 😆).
I was really surprised to find the features that were free before are now part of a premium plan. There are A LOT more ads than before as well. The display of options and features are not functional. I have to keep skipping the home page which is full of ads and irrelevant articles. If I’m using this to track calories, why would I want to open an app that displays blogs? Makes no sense.
Guess Under Armour was hurting for $$ and started charging. Used to be a good service.
Used to be great. Now, not worth it. 1/5
What happened to My Fitness Pal? It used to be so easy and smooth. Now it’s complicated and time consuming. It seems their most important feature is the extremely persistence nag pop-up to try to make you purchase premium! I don’t want to be brow beaten into paying for premium. I’d rather do it because it’s easy and helpful! Uninstalled. Looking for a simpler calorie counter.
Glitchy af 1/5
Every time I try to log my weight, it shuts down. Every. Single. Time.
Very Buggy 3/5
Each new update usually creates more bugs. I love the idea, but really should work more effectively at this point.
Back on the app 4/5
I upgraded to the premium app and like it. I wish that there was a way to personalize a low carb diet a bit more instead of the app assuming a 1200 calorie diet equals a carb allowance of 150. I like the core exercise feature. Hate the nickname feature!
Cant access app for almost a week 1/5
Reset password over 5 times but still not allowing access.
Ive used app for over 5 years.
Was a great app 2/5
By frustrated and on a diet
I’ve used this app religiously a few years back. It was pretty decent..at least the best one for keeping track of food as well as macro counting. Sounds silly but keeping up with my long streak was way too much..if I forgot or the app wasn’t working..losing your years long streak was too much. I disliked the anxiety over it.
I’ve redownloaded the app. After issues scanning something it doesn’t show up at all to add to what I’ve eaten. The calories I had didn’t match up right. I had to get a pen and paper out calculate everything. The app claims I had 500 calories more then what I really did. (Keep in mind the app was missing my dinner. In my own calculations I included it)
A once great and free app has now put too much focus on premium..you cannot do much of anything without spending money. Wanting people to join and use your app to get people healthy should be your number one priority. Not frustrate them or force them to pay. There are too many people out here with different dietary needs to have such a huge limit.
Focus more on wanting folks healthy (especially in the US) and less about how much you make. Trust me having people liking your app and getting healthier will feel much better then how much is in your bank account.
Recently Slowing Down 3/5
I’ve used this app for years to track my nutrition, and it’s fantastic. However, I’ve noticed in the past year that it causes my phone to slow down significantly and is becoming borderline unusable.
Everything useful is trapped behind a paywall 1/5
Just as the title says. Every single thing that’s actually useful is trapped behind a paywall. As it stands you could do what this app offers in a notebook. Anything that could actually help you loose weight? Paywall. All this can do is track basically calories and that’s it.
Watch out 1/5
They charge your account without permission! Do not get anywhere near this app. Totally a scam
Weight loss 5/5
I’ve tried everything you can think of to try to stay on track with my weight loss. This app is awesome and has been helping me stay on track with my calorie intake and my exercise.
Battle with bulge vs MyFitnessPal 1/5
Was finally getting the hang of this app and having good results then all at once was blocked or couldn’t get into app. Been several days now since I last logged in. I’m looking around for something more reliable since this happens so frequently. Very perplexed & disappointing. Do not charge me for something I can’t log into. ⚠️. You say I can download to older version but it won’t accept . Why????? Are you legit or robot 🤖
It’s sad I used to use this app in high school before they started charging. How sad and hard it is to become healthier if you do t have the money to pay.
Great app 5/5
Super easy of keep grass of your food consumption. Provides caloric and nutritional stats of the food logged and even have an scanner mode to log!
Always a sync problem 2/5
App on its own seems to work pretty good. I like the way it works to log calorie intake. However it regularly fails to sync with Fitbit steps. I know they communicate because the food I enter on MFP instantly shows in Fitbit but the steps don’t show up on MFP. It’s so frustrating I’ve abandoned MFP more than once and I’m about to end this permanently
Great App 1/5
This App is amazing when it works. Unfortunately, the App doesn’t recognize my email or password anymore. Unable to find support. Logging on the computer works fine and the page to sync the App is no longer there.
Won’t connect to Fitbit 1/5
I’ve uninstalled, reinstalled, disconnected, reconnected, nothing works. Fitbit says MyFitnessPal is connected, but MyFitnessPal doesn’t log any exercises. Time to move on.
Lost my stuff 1/5
The crash the other day erased 3 years of customer recipes.
This app fuels my eating disorder but it does exactly what I want it to do and I love it.
By this name part is dumb
When your only issue with the app is the step counter being a little inconsistent you know that it’s amazing
No longer syncing between connected apps 3/5
I wish developers would leave well enough alone. Information is no longer syncing between connected apps even after disconnecting and reconnecting. Garmin and MFP needs to quit with the “bug fixes” which really just make things not work like they are supposed too. It was syncing perfectly until this latest update.
I originally was only using this till my vacation beginning of next month. But that changed when i realized i could keep track of my calories it helped me tremendously with my weight loss. It also has helped shaped my routine. Would highly recommend.
I want to use this app but… 1/5
I really want to use this app but will not use again until it develops a widget for iOS 14. For now I’m using another app that doesn’t do all I want but I like seeing the widget of information. I know you can get a widget with the old way with this app, but I never look at that screen. I only look at my home screens. Please make a real widget.
Best weight loss app. 5/5
I lost 100lbs on. My own without any pills, dietitians, or a gym membership just using this ap.
Not tracking Fitbit correctly 3/5
I’ve noticed It doesn’t track my Fitbit correctly all the time. Wish that would be fixed and show real time correct information. It does have a wonderful list of foods with calories
App has been real glitchy lately. Will crash randomly and my food entries will disappear after I add them. Sometimes if i edit an entry it will just delete altogether.
can’t create account 1/5
i’ve tried for weeks to create an account and it says that they’re not able to process my request. fix this immediately.

This app is so toxic and is part of the reason why young girls are getting so hurt. i’m a teenager and have a very severe eating disorder, which was first developed thanks to this app. This app completely ruined my life and is one of the most toxic apps out there. It has you hyper focus on calories and calorie biting, and in reality, it’s just going to lead you do eat more, all of that obsessing over food. When you download this app, just know what you’re getting into. The app can lead you down a very toxic and deadly road, and there is absolutely no good in downloading calories counters!!
Login broken last few days 4/5
Have loved this app for the last few years, no complaints until the last few days during which time I was booted out and I have not been able to log back in in any way. 😕
Good enough 3/5
A lot of the old features are missing and the only good way to use this is with premium which is insanely expensive. However it is good enough for what I need it for, if a little annoying tk use without premium.
Doesn’t sync with apple health 2/5
I regularly burn 800-1000 calories a day at the gym according to Apple. According to MyFitnessPal? 25. I went to the website to properly set it up and it’s never worked. Technical support don’t have an answer either.
Also I can’t figure out how to see my ingredients once I’ve created a recipe. What’s the point of a recipe if you can’t see the ingredients?
gave me an eating disorder 1/5

App down for so many days I gave up 1/5
I’ve been trying to log into my account for three days, but it wouldn’t let me. I checked on the internet, and it looked like a lot of people were running into the exact same glitch. I had been a member of the MFP community since 2012, but I can’t just not be able to access my account for days like that, so I started logging my food with Fitbit instead. It breaks my heart that this service has so many technical issues, but I don’t experience those glitches with Fitbit. So I’m going to use Fitbit to log my food moving forward and be done with MFP. I would not advise anyone getting invested in this app, as it’s unreliability is counterproductive to a healthy and consistent diet.
I paid for premium and it didn’t upgrade! 1/5
I had premium membership for a year it was great. I cancelled my subscription and decided to start tracking my food again so I paid for a monthly subscription and it hasn’t upgraded. Not a happy camper 👎🏼!
Lost historical data 3/5
I’ve had the app for 5+ years, and I like most of the functions. Last week I got logged out and couldn’t log back in, so I updated the app. This allowed me to log on, but now my entire account history has been wiped including all my daily entries and historical measurements. It was really encouraging to go back and look at my past progress, and I’m sad to lose that old information.
