Incoming text messages 3/5
Incoming text messages will cause the app to stop keeping time and distance. You have to open the app back up to get it working again. This occurs even while the background app refresh option is selected. Happens every time. iPhone.
Food tracking is great but the exercise tracking is annoying and poorly built 4/5
I am using this app. I like the food tracking component but I find the exercise part very cumbersome. It takes you for ever to add your exercises and it is not helpful when you do an hour long workout and you don’t know how the exercises are referred to in the app. To be worked on to have a fully integrated app.
I never counted calories before. This app makes you aware of all the little habit snacks you consume during the day and how easy it is to exceed your daily calorie goal. No chips little chocolate now and again and I lost 11 lbs in 1.5 months. No starving myself either.
BE CAREFUL USING THIS APP 1/5
My login and password were hacked by using this app
Latest update crashes every time I open 1/5
Literally - just installed updated version and now it won’t even open without crashing 😡
Major bug that needs fixed 2/5
By Lizzie Timp
It works fine and all, but my keyboard to type items in never shows up when trying to type in a food. My only way around this problem is to write what I want down in my notes app then copy and paste it into this app. It’s really frustrating and I hope it can be fixed soon or I might want to switch apps.
couldn’t even get started 1/5
First, I had to reset my Apple Password. Then, I had to jump through hoops to make an account. Finally, “Unknown Error. Try agaian later.”
Would give 0 stars if I could
Stop changing and turning on features 2/5
This is so annoying. I have set my macros to account for workout days and have my app set to NOT track my exercise calories. It really messes up my counting when I don’t realize it’s turned on for no reason and I end up eating more than I should. I pay for premium but not to have my macros changed without me telling it to do so.
User Friendly 5/5
By Oh goodness Mom
Wow! So easy to use! Helpful calculating the information for you 😊
Premium Disappointment 2/5
I’m really frustrated with MyFitnessPal. My two biggest pain points are 1) I cannot scan barcodes using my iPad - I see a gray screen that says “Searching...” but the camera never activates - and 2) it doesn’t sync quickly with entries made on my phone and computer. For $50, I expect basic features like this to work.
Premium Services 1/5
On Sept 2, 2019, I paid for the premium services for my fitness pal. I can’t access the premium services. There is no phone number, when I ask for help it gives you a bunch of questions. No phone number. Don’t buy premium services. It will be money wasted!
Second time around 4/5
Thought I forgot how to use this app but it came back to me. I love that I can put in brand name products for accurate counts.
Great Fitness App 5/5
This is the best fitness app I have used. Many have hard to use food and fitness charting. This one is far easier to use with a friendly community. I got results using it.
Fix log in process 1/5
By Samael Sanders
This app forces you to create a Facebook account to set up an account, I’m ot sure why they create extra step, but if you are looking for a calorie counter, and are not a FB user I suggest not downloading the app.
Bait and seitch 1/5
By Strong Vincent '68
This used to be a useful app, I have used it for several years. But now it is so slow in order to force you to go to the paid version. I am deleting it and going to a less greedy provider.
When using app security risk 1/5
I have used this app for a few years I loved it but there is a major security flaw now my protection constantly blocks a know fishing high jacking website while using this app I’ve tried to contact the developer to find no place to contact I’m deleting this app and my account I suggest everyone else do the same your security is at risk I changed passwords redownloaded app twice and I still get hit so good bye app !!!!!!
Horrible influence on young teens 1/5
I was introduced to this app in 7th grade and for the last 7 years on and off it has enabled and created a deeper eating disorder for me than ever before. I definitely don’t recommend this app to everyone. For some people it may work great, and that’s fine (go you!) but for others it may completely damage your self esteem, the way you portray your body image, your physical health, and overall your mental health.
Truly helpful 5/5
I love my Fitness Pal
Decent, but a battery hog 3/5
By Bryanpi 3
Great database of foods, though it can be overwhelming if you get picky about what entry you want to use. Also will drain your battery hard thorough background use. If I don’t force quit the app, it will be the biggest hit to my battery life, even though Safari and YouTube have more screen time.
wildly inaccurate 1/5
I paid for the premium version so I could track macros but they don't line up with the calories at all. Right now it says I have 23g protein, 32 g carbs and -1.5g fat left but only 100 cals?!? If I wanted to just guess at what I am eating I don't need this app at all, and I REALLY didn't need to the paid version.
Great job 5/5
I’ve tried other apps but I always come back to this one. Straightforward and well functioning even without the paid upgrades.
Works for me 5/5
By Johnny M D
I’ve been using the app for about a week on the advice of my doctor. It’s easy to use and I’ve lost about 2 lbs.
This is a life saver sometimes. Being able to count calories among all the other info on the food I eat has helped me keep myself in check. Down 7 lbs since using it.
Locked Behind Subscription 3/5
Coming back to MFP after a few years. Shocked to see how much is now locked behind premium. Shame on you.
Settling keep changing 4/5
No matter how many times I change the settings for goal calories, protein and fat it always goes back to the default settings. Not helpful
Full of bugs. Terrible interface. 1/5
The interface is hard to setup. It trolls you into buying premium. Most of the premium features are junk.
Settings I saved would randomly change. This is what drove me to cancel premium and look for another calories counter.
It won’t work 2/5
It has been saying “we cannot process this info at this time” I’ve been trying to make an account for 3 days and I find it frustrating because my friend told me this app was great
Don’t bother, technical issues make it impossible to use 5/5
By jvz numero dos
When clicking on to the search bar for food, the keyboard does not come up. Makes it impossible to use.
Calorie adjustment issue 2/5
Great app in general....but for some reason, it’s saying the 647 steps I have so far this morning equals -620 calories burned....so it’s saying I gained 620 calories from walking 647 steps and decreased the amount of calories I can eat today.
Why the hell is this not letting me create an account? I’ve been trying for the past 4 days. 1/5
No Net Carb tracking 4/5
By Carol of Montana
I wanted to easily see the net carbs per item, meal, day. I could not find how to do that. Otherwise a great app. Switching to another app but will check back to see if this feature comes along as this is a very intuitive and easy to use app.
App does what I need it to do 5/5
If your looking for an app to keep track of your calories this is the app
The free version of this app has everything I’m looking for in the diary section
*note: I exercise but do not record it in this app, not because the app is bad but I want to track caloric intake without expenditure.
It’s Helping! 5/5
Down 4 pounds in 1 week!! And it’s easy to use. I know weight loss is tough but if I can lose even 1 pound a week and keep up my walking I’ll be a healthier person in a year.
Thank you 5/5
I’d first like to say I’m writing this after 3 weeks of using this app and when I started I weighed 196 I’m now at 187 which may not seem like a lot but I’ve never had so much success with a diet like having to put down what I eat has taught me how to have more self control and so far it seems like that was all I needed , thank you to all the app developers it’s a simple app with a list of food that’s super extensive like I looked up things that I didn’t even know existed and it was up there. If your looking to lose weight I highly suggest this app just make sure you workout with it too because that’s what keeps you from hitting a wall
Notifications are whack 4/5
This app is great. It helps me so much with tracking my calories as well as goals. And I am so appreciative of that and all of the other great features. Unfortunately, I had to turn notifications off because they don’t work properly. I get a notification for every meal saying “you haven’t logged your meal”. However, most of the time I actually have logged my meal. So, it’s annoying. It would be helpful in the event I actually forgot to log a meal, but I can’t stand unnecessary notifications. Hoping this gets resolved so I can use the notifications in the event I do actually forget to log a meal.
Just downloaded and can’t even get it open. Crashes every time
Calorie conscious 5/5
Easy to use, and makes you aware of calories and daily goals.
Stop the ads. I am about to pitch this ap. Enough f-Ing ads everywhere in life. Don’t need more and forced to watch just to use a basic ap.
Calorie Counting 5/5
This app is great for tracking your daily eating habits!!
im sad 1/5
it kept telling me that it was unable to process my registration after 2 days of trying I give up
Fitness pal is the most efficient way to watch your nutrient intake 5/5
By Fountain of youth Doc
I recommend it to my patients at Biobalance Health
iPhone yes, iPad NO!! 2/5
What happened with the iPad version of this app?? Can’t even see the names of the foods I log because of all the nutrient data on the screen...which is meaningless without the name of the food, and especially without the name of the nutrient itself!! It’s just a bunch of numbers on the screen...!! It’s not like this on my iPhone, so what’s the deal!?!?? To make the iPad version usable, I’d have to upgrade to Premium so I can “customize” my diary...really MFP?? Used to love this app, but it’s absolutely worthless now!
Ok app, garbage database 2/5
The app itself is decent. Their bread and butter, the gigantic database, is garbage though. Too many junk unverified user submitted data points. And no way to really cull user submitted versus usda official statistics. Regularly had a dozen entries for specific items and no way to really determine which was the accurate entry with out spending a bunch of time manually reviewing them.
You need to do it now 5/5
By The real Rodman
Just because you miss a day, don’t give up.
Free Trial Charges You! 1/5
Don’t click on the advertised FREE TRIAL!! It charges you $20. Then, they ask you to take it up with Apple to get a refund. Terrible customer service.
Wish it would work 2/5
App won’t let me sign up!?
Notifications are a lie, but great 4/5
I get a notification everyday saying that I didn’t log my lunch, breakfast, etc. But I always do. That’s the most annoying part of the app. But love all the extras they offer like articles and recipes! Definitely helps keep my nutritional goals on track
