Poor Design and Multiple bugs 1/5
Could not log into the app using my ID/ login/password or the school provided ID/password. Verification link sent to email says account created but the link sends you to a page saying “thank you” and no option to log in. Click on “rate this app” sends you to App Store page saying could not find app. Do I need to continue? Useless.
I don’t get the complaining 5/5
By You are loved 😘😘
I don’t know what the issue is, we’re supposed to be reviewing the app not comparing it to Edline. I think this app is great, it tells you your grades and the percents. That’s all I need and there’s bonus applications inside of the app so this is even better then Edline.
By creamie meamie
a good app
They should have tested it before forcing parents to use it 1/5
Seriously. This is the worst app I’ve ever had the displeasure to use. The app it replaced provided way more information than this abomination. It showed grades, averages, graduation requirement summaries, and a lot more. Granted it wasn’t pretty, but who cares about that, ugly and useful is a ton better than pretty and useless. Give me back my edline, it worked.
By Declan Fiala
Did you actually write this app in scratch? Seriously it doesn’t even show the correct grades and half the menus don’t work
Why? Because y’all should follow me on Instagram @ ayeee.adrian

Need to be more user friendly 1/5
It’s hard to navigate and make changes. Right now it looks like my children has two mothers and one father and I can’t seem to change that.
My grade isn’t correct 1/5
For some reason it recently said I’m in 11th grade , yet I’m in tenth...?
App tells me I’m using wrong login but I’m not 1/5
This App worked at one time but for the past several months it has failed miserably.
Horrible app broke my life 1/5
I hate myself
Would be okay - if login worked 1/5
By Dragon bug
Granted, the mobile interface is better than using the website on a mobile device. But login stopped working for me after a few months, and so far nothing we’ve tried has made the app accessible again (password reset attempts, uninstall/reinstall). It shouldn’t be this hard.
Login Problem 1/5
Doesn’t let me login anymore. Need a fix!!!
Cannot login the parent account 1/5
Okay am I missing something??? 1/5
The only reason I got this app was so that I could check my grades on my phone without having to use Safari, but it won’t even let me log in. If there’s some login information that I’m mixing up, then I’ll gladly retract my statement, but that doesn’t seem to be the case, so the app is pretty much useless to me.
Not too bad! 4/5
In the beginning, I thought MyMCPS was trash. MyMCPS was difficult to use at first, and I just wanted Edline back. But as I use MyMCPS more, I realize how much better and organized it is. Edline was the real trash👎🏽👎🏽 But I wish on MyMCPS there was a button that just said "Grades" would be sooo much easier to use.
What was Edline again??? 5/5
This is by far the better app compared to Edline. On myMCPS, teachers can interact better with the students. It's easy to access grades, homework help, missing work, instruction, and contact teachers! I have no idea what people down there are saying! One star is simply NOT acceptable.
App for iPhone 1/5
By PTSA mom
This app does not appear to work at all. My children and I cannot login with out credentials at all. I hope they resolve this username/password problem so we can have access to grades with our mobile devices as well.
Doesn't work 1/5
For some reason I can only see classes for one of my students on this app. For my other student it says no content exists. I can view the information via the web...the problem there is I see both my students entire calendars...how about making so I can view one student at a time. It would be nice if MCPS would invest in technology that works before pushing it out to users. This product seems to have had no testing prior to launch.
Poor rollout and deficient product. 1/5
The heart of this application is to be able to track your child's progress. Twitter and YouTube integration features, news feeds, links to lunch menus...that is all secondary information and of much less value. The core heart of this application is tracking progress and assignments, and it quite simply doesn't work. Account rollouts were botched, different accounts for mobile vs website, etc. edline wasn't perfect, but it WORKED. This is far from functional, and it's not consistently rolled out among teachers. (Many don't use it and are not sure how to!).

Y'all really like messing things up ~ first you replaced final exams with RQAs and now edline is gone, I'm sure you will find something else to ruin
Trash from liberals 1/5
I blame Obama
Alright, first of all, edline was great. I don’t understand the need for 1) constant and excessive confusion and 2) a replacement for a system that everyone, not only KNEW HOW TO USE, but liked! Honestly, edline was the one thing mcps could do correctly!! Even the teachers don’t use mymcps classroom, and the only teachers that do use it, upload the link to their GOOGLE classroom on their front page. A little redundant mcps, don’t you think? Also, two words, EDLINE HELPER!! I could finally figure out what I needed to get on a re take, how many homework’s I needed to turn in, what grade I needed on a test to boost my percentage, how I did on a certain assignment, and how everything effected my overall grade. It, not only helped students, but it helped teachers by giving them a tool to interact with students and their grade by helping them find a way to do better. Oh, and DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON “MCPS CHECKPOINTS” OR WHATEVER YOU RE NAMED THE RQA. LIVID. I AM LIVID. DO YOU NOT KNOW THAT THEY ARE BASICALLY THE SAME THING?! How are any of us ever going to be ready to take a final in college? Study for a big test? Ill give you a hint: WE WONT! We are beyond unprepared at this point, and I think that something needs to be fixed. There should be a class on how to do your taxes, how to buy a house, basic life skills, and HOW. TO. STUDY (OR AT LEAST A SEMINAR OR SOMETHING?? Nobody ever explained HOW to study, they just told us to do it or else we fail!! Hello, it’s not that easy my friend!! And teachers are always saying “you have to know what kind of learner you are.” Well, I didn’t know there were different types until my homeroom teacher explained it a few weeks back. I’ve learned more life skills from him than from any other class i’ve taken). There should also be a class where you learn how to cook because lord knows the only thing I can make is a bowl of cereal. Drivers ed should be PART OF THE CURRICULUM!! Every student has to take drivers ed, you might as well make it a class!! One semester drivers ed, one semester health. See? That was easy. Oh yeah, and math. Oh my goodness. Just because I am ABLE to do math up to a certain point, doesn’t mean I should HAVE to!! You know what pre calculus is besides pointless for anyone besides STEM majors? A GPA KILLER AND JUST HARD IN GENERAL!! It’s one thing to give us a choice to learn beyond a certain level, but at this point it’s more like child abuse. Oh, and one last thing in my soap box. HOMEWORK. There’s too much of it. Like WAY to much. I know people who spend hours upon hours just trying to figure out homework that was never taught to them, or doing repetitive, tedious work that takes more time than students have! If you play a sport, said player may have practice until 5:30 and won’t get home until AT LEAST 5:45, and even LATER if they have a game. Let’s say they shower and eat, and by that time it’s already 7:15. Now, after all of that, you have to spend HOURS doing homework and go to bed late, and then wake up tired, having to do it ALL. OVER. AGAIN. I know you may think some kids get distracted, and some do, but even the kids who don’t spend hours working on things either don’t understand, and will not understand without further instruction, because the teacher just handed us a worksheet and expected us to teach ourselves (thank you common core), or doing work they already are familiar with and comprehend. So it’s either useless or stressful. Or both. Usually both. And if you take away JUST ONE THING from this extremely long rant, it should be that mcps needs to talk to students. Find out what they want, what they need, and start making a difference, because OBVIOUSLY, what you’re doing is NOT WORKING. Yours truly, an overworked, overstressed, student.
I'm an eighth grader, and I've used Edline the past 2 years. There was nothing wrong with it. Then, MCPS throws us a loop. In my school, nobody taught us to use it, because no one knows how! Worst. Decision. Ever.

This app is as bad as the 2016 election.
Top notch 5/5

Best app I have ever used in my life better than any social media app ever created. Everyone should use this app it’s so great. Psn: akaSyh-
So stupid 1/5
This is way worse and harder to check your grades. Please mcps, switch back to edline until you get it together
By Ollllloooooo there
This is terrible and it doesn't even work properly. This has got to be the worst decision ever made by mcps, and that alone should say a lot. BRING EDLINE BACK!!!
It doesn't even let us see our GRADES!!!!!! Idk which one of you fools did it but yeah the teachers, students and parents hate it (if you hadn't already noticed) so give us back EDLINE!!!!
Not very good 1/5
It's kind of glitchy

Bruh these ni🅱️🅱️as at mcps are actually tripping if they think that this is useful. Its trash #bring Edline back. Like oh no baby what is you doing
Modern App 4/5
By Red McCallen
I am not sure what the reviewers below are complaining about that Edline was better. Edline was clunky and had less information. But more so, the MyMCPS app function much like modern informations apps do. There are numerous options beyond Edline as well. The options are clear and to the point, often providing compliment information under titles, including teacher names, class grades, or other scores. It may seem like a lot to keep clicking to go deeper into a subject, but there is a wealth of information under each options. Links are also present under several options that can take you to other sections.
From my experience, the complainers are parents who do not move forward with technology and get irritated that something changed, and they want to keep things as they have always been because progress only means what is comfortable with them. Change things up and get them having to think and this translates into a bad something and nothing but negatives. Anyone who keeps up with technology should not find this app difficult to use and informative, even if it can be repetitive for the sake of convenience.
Edline was better. 1/5
MCPS, why do you put effort into switching to a different system when you could be replacing the horrible chairs in our schools? Also, Edline was far better than this. All I want is to check my grades, not have loads of useless information be thrown at me with an app and a system that don't make sense.
Easy to use and provides insightful info 4/5
Definitely an improvement over Edline. Love the customizable notifications and the additional insight into each child's class performance. These features are a nice touch. I think parents will appreciate this app after they have an opportunity to play with it.
Better than Edline, not quite ready 4/5
By Mike in Potomac
This app is much easier to navigate than Edline, but the information isn’t all correct. The phone numbers are wrong, and the app crashes when you try to change it. Sports shows a different school.
Much better parent app than EdLine 5/5
iPhone app lets parents see progress for more than one kid, individual classes, grades, and assignments. Has link to news, Google Classroom, calendar, many other things that look useful.
EdLine app didn’t really work times we tried it.
Teachers said it is taking some getting used to for them. But looks like a decent helper for kids, teachers, and parents.
This app is horrible bring back edline!! 1/5
Bring back edline!!
By NYC blue
This needs a lot of work to be ready for prime time. Is MCPS the guinea pig for blackboard or does blackboard just not have much experience?
edline deserves better 1/5
no edline= no it's not fine
Completely unusable 1/5
By Frustrated MCPS Student
This app, with its layout and design patterns and constant lack of efficiency, is one of the reasons why I'm starting to lose faith into the people running this school district from the top down. And it's not like we, as students, can just go with our school year without using it. We have no other choice. How else are we suppose to keep up with our class work and grades at home?
FIX THIS APP!
There was nothing wrong with edline 1/5
By Tired of Needless changes
This is a terrible combination of both mcps's own backend and instructure. We already have Google classroom for documents and updates, and we had edline for grades. Mymcps made both grades and updates harder to find and understand.
I'm sorry but Edline is better :/ 1/5
I have no idea why we don't use Edline helper anymore, but for Edline I liked that right when you opened the app it would show you your grade and percentage, for mymcps you have to click a bunch of stuff just to get to your grade, also Edline was color coded. You probably won't listen to us students' BUT BRING EDLINE BACK!
excuse me 1/5

why fix edline if it aint broke hmm

Fix This App 1/5
I doubt Edline is coming back so please fix this app. It's annoying to navigate and no one cares about anything other than grades, so you should prioritize showing the grades!!!!
Bring Edline back! Not horrible, but not good either. 1/5
The result of budget cuts just make me sick. Honestly. The 24 hour wait was bad enough. Now, this atrocity comes and ruins the already fragile system. None of our grades sync to mymcps, and none of our teachers know how to manage it. None of my classes are "published." The system itself is like a maze. It's hard to see your grades, and it's hard to get used to. The layout is cheap, and the app is worse than the website. Mymcps does its job... barely. Edline was simpler and faster.
this app is racist 1/5
By Frustrated wang
just because i am part white part black part yellow part green part red part orange part blue part pink does not mean that mcps can harass me like this and abuse my rights
Not bad but edline was also good 3/5
I like it I'll give this a 7/10 mcps but Edline was 10/10
I don't like this at all I cannot find my grades mcps needs to bring back edline
It's a good app, but Edline was simpler and faster. Still, this app is great and smooth, and has more access to other things.
Edit: after using this app, I've decided it deserves a 5 star. Idk why people give it a 1 star just because it feels more complicated. MyMCPS has so many great features, and doesn't deserve a 1 and a half star rating. It's awesome
