Trying to cancel my reservation via the app because NO ONE answers the phone when I call Corpus Christi airport office, but doesn’t seem to be an option. I tried.

I try and try but I cannot add a credit card to this app via manual input or scan, WiFi or non-WiFi. The only way I can add a credit card is at the airport counter. This situation has happened a few times with this app. It is useless.

Even when I in put the reservation number and it finally finds the reservation it gives the wrong instructions in Baton Rouge airport — says stop at counter in airport, but the counter says why did you stop here....

I rent many cars through National, but in Charleston, SC is the slowest of all. You have to wait an hour in line to check if there your rental is available, if not you have to wait longer. I booked this car weeks in advance. Definitely the system in this location does not meet the customer needs.

I have installed & uninstalled & reinstalled app numerous times. I have yet been able to get past sign in screen. I can go to website & sign in w/o any problems... HORRIBLE!!
App difficulties 1/5
Difficult to navigate rental dates. Had to tap and go back several times. Went to make a reservation, was told that the cc had expired and could still make a reservation, but when I got to the end, the system wouldn’t take reservation, made me cancel it, then had to go to profile to input new card and start the process all over again. You should be able to add a new credit card while making the reservation and easily tap on pick up and drop off dates without much hassle. Thanks

I’ve never had a problem with renting through National compared to all other rental companies. The process is super quick and easy when your an emerald member. Simply go to the emerald line, select your car and drive it to the exit stand, as they enter in your drivers license your member info will pop up up then your good to go. It’s really that simple!
Misleading Pricing 1/5
Be very careful with the pricing representation on this app. If miles are not included the only place you see it is on the third screen of the reservation process. Meanwhile the first screen shows a “Total” with an *. The footnote says “Eatimated total includes all taxes, surcharges and fees.” Nothing about miles being included or not.
The second screen is full of insurance details and other options. No mention of miles.
The third screen finally says zero miles included and shows the rate per mile in fine print, but still provides a quoted total with no miles.

Executive vacation Mesa AZ 1/5

I planned our family vacation in advance and rented a midsize car using my upgrade to full size and free earned rental days at the Mesa AZ airport. When we landed I stood in National line packed with people and when I finally reached the counter I was offered a pickup truck. I then asked for a different vehicle and was told only have this or Nissan Altima or Malibu. I then asked speak with a manager. He basically stood his ground was very angry. Would not work with me and then offered a Jeep Wrangler as a solution. Finally my family was so upset from traveling all day and was now 11 pm we took the Nissan and squeezed into the vehicle. We were traveling to a funeral in CA. Very uncomfortable and disappointed. Worse than this was the treatment. I was told all the keys I see are already assigned to reservations. What am I then? All the cars in the National lot that I saw were not available to me. The manager and I went around and around and I feel women executives are very discriminated against by travel industries and I let him know this. He was a angry and rude towards me from first request for help. He stood his ground and got aggressive which only upset me more. Then he called ahead and one of guys waiting for me in the lot I took pictures of all the keys and all the rental cars before we left. FYI at my status with National I have been given a BMW in the past from this exact same location. I travel 80% in my role as a N.A. Manager for my company and so I have comparison data for 5 years showing how I am treated vs my peers. Number of rentals and status obviously are not used in the industry unless the location says pick your car. I wish I could attach my pictures of the scene at the Mesa airport and if you could hear the vocal exchange. I was furious with them and they totally stuck it to me. I will not let this go because they caused me to waste 5 free rental days on a vehicle that did not meet my needs and put 25 peoples reservations as a priority over mine. Not including the the verbal exchange I had to ensue with the manager. Now I fear retaliation as I see my contract says I have a full size convertible which is a scam because I do not have anything like that vehicle. What a disappointing experience for our few days in AZ and our trip to my Uncles memorial service.

I find that this ap doesn’t work half the time I try logging in. It uses my finger print sign in about 25% of the time. I’m a big fan of National and use them almost all of the time. I wish the ap was better.
I have been renting from different Rental Agencies over the last 16 years. I am here to tell you that none of them can compete with National when it comes to Customer Service and Rates. I never looked back since joining the National Rewards Program years ago. Fyi: If one employee is professional, just get the manager and all your problems will be solved. If Airport gives you issues then you call customer service and they can mediate all your issues. Not hard at all. So far, My Family and I are enjoying the free day rentals and points from National. Oh and did I mention you get to pick your own car? I understand it is only for major locations but it is worth it.

Why I like National over Hertz...their staff are pleasant, well trained and accomodating. The cars are varied and reasonable. And you can choose the car you want.

Craziest Terms and Conditions I’ve ever seen 1/5
Hidden in the gazillion pages of Terms and Conditions, you apparently turn over a lot of privacy rights. This is a bad customer experience being asked to review pages and pages of legal content just to use the app. It’s obviously too risky to National for anyone to use this app. Uninstall.

I called three times to try to get my rental extended and I was told that it couldn’t be done due to me having it under a company card which is my company card so now I am being charged extra fees even though I called before my extensions before my rental is due for an extension

Honestly I hate leaving negative reviews, but their app is garbage. Can't pull any previous rental information and none of the current rental information is valuable. Just tried to look at "arrival directions" for my trip tomorrow - nothing. Blank screen. Don't offer an app if it brings zero value to your customers. Just sayin'. ✌🏼

At Salt Lake City airport, I couldn’t rent a car because I forgot to bring my drivers license. They said it was a state policy. I tried to show them my passport and the copy of my drivers license. They rejected it. I am not going to rent a car from National anymore!

Car was dirty inside. Cleaning tool was left in car. Car gas was only at 3/4 tank and I purchased prepaid fuel option.

Even if you are an emerald club member with an active account, they will not rent to you if you use a card that doubles as a debit card. You will reach the gate, never having had this problem before, and if you are a resident of the state you’re renting in, they will turn you away.
I will likely never do business with National again. I will be switching all of our corporate accounts to enterprise.

I rented a car at the LA airport and was very disappointed with the team that worked there. I had issues with the car and left several messages for a manager to contact me. So that we could work together but after calling 3 times I turned it over to the national headquarters. Never did I receive a call or email from the LA location. Very sad. My company rents from national every day of the year. All over the world. And this is not what I expected from this location. Every other location is great to deal with.

As long as you’re an Emerald club member and use Emerald aisle and quick drop off, you’ll be fine. It’s when you deviate from that by questioning a charge, vehicle problems, free rental day use or go to the counter for any reason at all that the problems occur. National customer service is the opposite of what it should be. They seem to find every reason to deflect responsibility and offer no recourse. I had one “gentlemen” at Charlotte airport tell me I was privileged to think the car I reserved should be available when I arrived. Also, arrive at Montréal airport later in the day. Expect to see an empty parking lot with 10 people standing in line. Not an isolated incident, twice in 3 months. Aside from those encounters, I always check to see if my destination does not offer Emerald aisle service or worse yet, is run by a franchisee for National. If so, I rent elsewhere.
I’m a frequent traveler with Executive Elite Status for the last several years so my opinion is not based only on the experiences above. National has been fairly consistent in their arrogance and lack of customer service over the years. Emerald aisle is the only thing that keeps me from changing companies.

Had to put confirmation number in search block then said reservation can’t be viewed in the app. Really????? Now I can’t submit the review until I pick a nickname. Yet all the nicknames I’ve selected are taken.
