Never works 2/5
Great idea but can never find my network. 3 years ago it worked perfectly, now it’s a piece of 💩

Worked on my app so far so good
Worse than Comcast 1/5
You’d think a company that specializes in networking would have an app that’s better than Comcast’s.
Happy I don’t need to pay the rental fee but not as happy with this app.
Little to no settings available to manage. No user assignment or parental options. Terrible at identifying devices attached to it. Better off using the router portal on your browser.
Never works, doesn’t connect or login. Pure garbage for an app. How hard would it be to choose a good channel in this app?
Sketchy app 1/5

This app doesn’t work well... logging in takes minutes if it even lets you in at all. I like to turn the guest wifi off to boot the kids off the internet, I have to do this because the “pause internet” feature doesn’t work. I highly suggest buying a different brand modem-router just to get a control app that works.
It’s awesome when is working having multiple issues that has been resolve I have only 2 weeks with it having to reset multiple times
Limited network map 1/5
It doesn't display every device connected to the router; it only shows a max of 16 or less sometimes even though I know there are more connected - I can see them all through the web portal (which defeats the purpose of having the app). While the app is nicer to use and easier to edit device names, the web portal is much more reliable. Also, the traffic meter doesn’t work at all.
The app is slow and practically useless.
Terrible App 1/5
App gets stuck loading when selecting map or a particular item connected to the router within the map.
Excellent App 5/5
Can’t understand all the negative reviews by unhappy customers. I’m a tech so I can see where I have the edge. It’s unfortunate that people will do a little bit of research and think they know it all. If you are willing to pay out your good hard earned money for a device and are the least bit confused, for pities sake, spend a little more and have a tech work out your problems for you, or at least get a techs advice before you spend your money. I sell Netgear all day long. It’s top notch equipment. Don’t blame the app; blame the user. If you’re having troubles; ask for help.
So far 5/5
Only had it a couple of days but so far so good.
I like it but missing one thing 4/5
I like the app but wish it had a speed checker like the nighthawk app
Parental don’t allow you to shut it off for a time on certain devices....so👎🏻 app freezes up 1 out of 3 times. Disappointed
Don’t mix old and new Netgear devices! 2/5
Only supports a limited number of compatible devices. Might be good if your devices are on the list, of which one of my Netgear products are. Why can’t you take the page from Apple’s Airport app?!? To whatever company can manage to build an app that does this will get my money.
Holy chum buckets!!! 5/5

This app is AMAZING. I had that slow a** century link internet, wack af btw, but now I got mediacom and let’s just say my videos are loading super fast 😉😉😉
doesn’t work 1/5
Can’t even get past the router login even when the router login password is admin/ password. it just won’t log you in . can’t even do a remote either . you can log into account but nothing shows up. all in all the app does not work. you can’t even log into the app to use it . 1 star rating for this one. if i could give it a zero i would

I like it it’s very good
Never works! 1/5

This app is always messing up. When people are online it doesn’t show it. If you want to stop or pause someone’s Internet you can’t. Due to the app not working properly.
Slowest clunky 1/5
This app is shamefully slow and stupid clunky. 85% of the time I have to wait until a viable connection with the hardware is established, the other 15 I get errors returning for device management.
User Name 4/5
Why can’t I change the user name?
Great app to navigate and very easy to use, totally satisfied with it. Highly recommend the netgear router/modem with this app
This app is terrible. All it does is tell you to login with your credentials, then press next. When you press next, it takes your right back to the login screen. Side note: they have a worthless button in the top right corner that when you click it, all it does is show a picture of a router. Bravo, Netgear.
Great product!!!! 5/5

Connected my device easily.
Netgear app 5/5
Network map only works some of the time... other times it only shows my phone when I know there are multiple devices connected. Sometimes... on the rare occasion it does work, I’ll turn a device off only to not be able to turn it back on when I want because the network map won’t load. Which is useless. Turning on and off the guest WiFi to manage kids usage (which is my back up when the network map is not working) only works some of the time... usually it just says “The action failed. Try again” over and over and over. Again, useless. In short... this app is useless.
Great App 5/5
Does plenty. Love it
Peice of SH** 1/5
I have installed it for several weeks and never worked. The most useless application I have ever installed on my iPhone.
Great app 5/5
By off a bean
My go to app for anything that has to do with my internet and WiFi. Would always recommend
Slow and outdated application 1/5
Cant believe how useless this app is. I have to log into my pc to use the settings I want to use on the app, but it never works. No idea why they haven’t bothered to fix it.
By Wicked 07
Works really good I have this for router for 7 years with no problems at all. I really recommend netgear.
Log in 1/5
Useless from the start cannot logon. Default username stuck on admin. My password and default pw wont work. Same with nighthawk app. I am not resetting my router. App should work with same credentials which i have had for years. Reading how useless the app is from reviews not worth fussing with. Netgear is horrible anyway. Keeps dropping our connection at home from wifi. I though i could fix it with the app bit the fix turned out to be worse than the problem Need to get rid of netgear
Great app for the basics 4/5
I use this app for modem reset and ready share. It’s easy to use and works for what I need. This app had the potential to run heavier control for the modem but is pretty. Basic. If I need to go deeper I use the online function through my local IP address and do all the necessaries there or the genie app for windows. Love NETGEAR!
Great app!!! Love service
This app never has worked no matter what I do. Seems my review always disappears as well to be recent.
Unusably slow 1/5
Nothing loads, times out while waiting.
Biggest piece of crap ever 1/5
By Netgear Nutcracker
When Comcast’s Xfi app for their gateway is way easier to manage than this app, you know something is wrong. Netgear Genie app is horrible, the worst piece of crap ever...dont even bother. I would rather go back to Comcasts’ modem/router and xFi app....at least it was reliable...
Not sign in 1/5
I’m unable to sign in by this app but only sign in web. Please fix it
I get to control my wifi 5/5
By Dan senki
This is cool to use
Great App 5/5
Can see how many connections, pause internet to certain people, reset router through the phone, and all the needs you could expect from a phone app.
Could not even log in 1/5
I was able to log in on the website to access my router’s internal settings with the same password that this app has rejected repeatedly. Worthless
Pain to use the features 1/5
App has useful features available but hardly works. You will make your day off you can login to the router, list the devices and pause internet to control your little ones screen time.
Logging in takes too long, accessing any tool within the app takes too long and times out more often than not. I haven’t had any problems with my routers performance so I am inclined to think the app isn’t good.
Works great 5/5
By First United presbyterian
Good system for the price. Can clamp the Internet down. Set times for the kids devices. Never an issue have been running this unit for a couple years. Handles many devices at once with no issues.
Not very good... 3/5
I have a bunch of gear from Netgear in my network.
When using this app, it’ll detect the AccessPoint (RS6250) but not the actual router (WNR2000) - until I key in that one’s IP address manually. But even when connected to the WNR2000 (I know that’s the one based on PW and traffic meter) it still indicates the RS6250 and wants to download new firmware. But who know for what device it will actually do it. Trying the right firmware on the wrong device will likely brick it.
On top of that, the network map is slow to update and does not display the Netbios names (which I actually can see from the ASUS router, only used as an AccessPoint, essentially set up identically to the RS6250).
Netgear genie 5/5
By Keith Fennell
Worst ever 1/5
Worst app, worst security, worst company, worst router, worst support ever.
Netgear killed access to force their new app down your throat! 1/5
Come on, Netgear! Are you serious?
With the old Genie app (which you purposely broke in order to force us to create an online account in order to access our routers through your “new app”), you could at least log into your router locally, but this update to the app removes your ability to use it for local management!
You know, Netgear, not everybody wants to create an online account to allow access to their home routers - why don’t you just let us log in locally using this app?
One star until you realize PRIVACY is important to your users!
Network map is terrible 2/5
Network map takes forever to load.
Does not show history of devices connected. So there is no way of knowing if a rogue device had connected to my wifi.
