It could be great if only Sony didn't drop support for HomeShare 1/5
Sony products keep disappointing year after year. There is no hope anymore that it will get back of being reputable brand.
Core services don't work as advertised. Software/firmware support is dropped after 2 years since production start. Network services discontinued shortly after firmware support is dropped. Sony product becomes just a dark, led-flashing box in less than 4 years.
Decommissioning STR-DN1040 - replacing going back to Onkyo.
Decommissioning BDP-S790 - going back to Samsung.
UBP-X800 is a complete disappointment after having used BDP-S790 for years. X800 is going back to Sony for complete refund.
XBR-55X900C so far is doing ok for a TV, maybe purely because it is actually running by Google (Android) TV firmware inside.
How do I keep running a network of BDP-S790, STR-DN1040, and 4x of SA-NS500 you say?!...
yeah, that's right - dump him and the rest users (losers)... what they can do anyways!....
Ok but stops playing when device sleeps 2/5
By Russell L.
Was excited to setup playlist and listen to them without having to turn on the TV. But, when my device display goes to sleep, the app doesn’t play the next song ☹️
Works on my STR-DN1080 receiver
64 bit 1/5
When will 64 bit be available. If no, then with iOS 11 - no longer works and will not be able to control Sony network speakers
2.3.0 works well.
2.3.1. Looses the ability to control nas-sv20i.
This needs to be fixed
This update Still needs fixing. 1/5
This update still does not work.
Please, Please, fix this with IOS 11.
Fake news device 1/5
Need an update very bad can't sync with sa-na400. Spotify need to work bruh
Great app for managing audio on home share enabled devices all around home, I love it!! 5/5
Thank you for upgrading it to 64bit platform as now I can use it again on my iOS 11 iPhone.
Update for iOS 11 ! 4/5
Thank you Sony for continuing to support your audio equipment by releasing an updated app for iOS 11.
Update App please 4/5
My favorite remote is what I use to control all devices in my home. Until the release of iOS 11, it’s unable to open due to compatibility. Can you please update for us and especially for me. Thanks....
Time for an iOS 11 update 1/5
Hey Sony! we would appreciate an update to this app, like ASAP.
Update app to work with iOS 11. This app is my weekend lifeline.
Come on Sony, let’s make this great app compatible with iOS 11! Cheers!
iOS 11 Support 1/5
Sony ... the iOS is out now, please, where is the app support. If I have to replace my receiver or anything - it will NOT be with a Sony product if your apps are not supported. Thanks.
Sony customer service 3/5
By The love one
I just spoke to Sony, first time they hear about this application not being compatible with ISO 11.
When is upgrade to 64 bit iOS11 ? 4/5
By Michael B. Singh
Hoping Sony has not abandoned this app for Sony SA-NS500. Upgrade needed for iOS 11.
Works flawlessly 5/5
Great app for wireless speaker control
Doesn't work. 1/5
Terrible app. I wish I hadn't wasted my time with it.
Don't waste your time...does not work
Does not work my receiver is listed but won't locate it
So far can't get a link 1/5
So disappointed!! What's up with this?
Zero stars 1/5
By Skyview Tim
Doesnt work at all . Keeps saying no speakers connected, which is absolutely wrong. Worthless.
Pause button does not work 3/5
By Winterland Q
Pause functionality does not work while playing music. Not sure if I'm missing something, but it's pretty frustrating.
No album art either
Not that great 1/5
By Devon D Lambert
If the app could control my speakers through Bluetooth, this would be so much better. This app is only meant for a select few Sony speakers. Not worth it. Needs help.
0 stars 1/5
By Juliana Lopes
When I first buy my home theather I be like:" oh great, Sony has an app like an Air Play", but this is app is nothing like the Air Play. I just can not add music and because of that, the app is useless. And instead the app uses the library of your own device (ipad, ipod or iphone) you need to connect to a computer or something and it doesn't work. This app has potencial but need to be fixed right now.
Just doesn't work 1/5
I can't even say it's a bad app because it doesn't work at all. It just sits there.
This app deserves 0 stars. I get a message that No speakers are available, when the unit is fully connected and operating. No wonder Sony is losing money!
Incompatible with the PS3 1/5
Purely awesome 5/5
Nice simple handsome layout. Works beautifully, simple to use, and conveniently have access to your music all in one app.
Come on Sony you can do so much better 1/5
I was so excited to have a great remote from my iPad but this app still has a long way to go. Simplistic in design and function. Verizon remote app is so much better.
This works great with any DLNA server and receiver - Sony or not. I do wish I could access my iPod's library, but this app is otherwise great.
Well...Ok it works, but... 3/5
It works with my Sony A/V Receiver but crashes...alot
Great idea 5/5
Better than the remote that comes with the SA-NS300 but there is a butt load of room for improvement. I had issues at first but upgraded my router and that solved my issue with connectivity...
Now for Sony to fine tune the app to make us all happy... Would be willing to cough up a few bucks for more functionality...
I would like the ability to play my music out of my IPhone music list... The music I have on my pc is poorly named and horribly organized....
Bare Bones 2/5
The intention might have been good but this app is almost useless; it needs a lot of fine tuning.
Let's see what an update does.
I appreciate the app and would use it a lot if it would quit crashing. When creating playlists it crashes constantly. Granted I have a LARGE amount of music, but still, crashing is unacceptable. Also does not "find" all my servers. Need the ability to add devices and folders on our own.
Would also like to see the ability play video and pictures in the future.
Would give 5 stars if it wouldn't crash.
I works, sort of. It takes a while to play the music. No video or pandora support. Sometimes i have to restart the app to get it to work. Neay idea but it doesnt deliver in real world terms. Add networking to your home theater amps so this can actually be usefull. Seems like a no brainer.
Awesome app 5/5
All you need is a dlna server and you can control your music on a Sony device from this app. PS3Mediaserver is a free dlna server that I'm using.
Getting better 4/5
V2.0 is much better than the previous - faster, and actually works :) - would love to see a "queue" option show up at some point and doing away with the discovery everytime the app starts would be good as well.
Great idea, lacking execution 2/5
While I was able to connect to my DLNA server to play music on my Sony BDP-S580, the functionality of the remote app is very limited and the response is almost untolerably slow. Basic functions like random play never worked...that's not a problem unless you always want to listen to your music in alphabetical order! More advanced functions like searching for a song name or a Genius-type play are absent. I expected an experience something much more like running iTunes through my TV. Disappointing.
I give this two stars because technically I was able to select a song to play and skip to the next one. Otherwise, it only earned one star from me.
Slow and limited functionality 2/5
The system reacts with hudge delay to app commands. Alternative AppStore do it much faster. Also functionality is limited to basic functions.
Basic features missing 1/5
By Still asleep
The app is more useful than the remote that comes with the player. I'll give it that. But it lacks some very basic features.
Navigation: There is no search capability. It needs at least an alphabetical index, similar to the iphone contacts app. I have 7500 songs. If I want to play a song by the Talking Heads, it takes about 30 seconds to scroll down to the T's, because I have to wait for the network to refresh the list as I scroll.
Shuffle is very limited: I want to be able to choose 5 albums and shuffle between them. Can't do it with this (though this can be done with playlists in the Window's Media Player)
I would love to open up the Genre list and see a list of albums within it. Nope. Only an alphabetical list of songs is given. LAME.
Still no PS3 support 1/5
Listen to your customers already.
Need to add support for SONY PS3 1/5
It would be a great app to be able to control PS3 and blu-ray movies on PS3.
It would be nice to be able to stream music from iphone to HT speakers... 3/5
I know this can be done with Apple's airport express. Why not with this app Sony?!
doesn't work. 1/5
doesn't find any of my sony components. no help screen. booo!
Nice App, Needs More 3/5
By Stan M
Very easy to use, great way to stream music, however I don't understand why Sony would not allow it to do the same with pictures and videos. Hope to see it enabled in further upgrades.
Sony Bravia remote please!!!!!!!!
