NOAA Now App

NOAA Now provides the latest information from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration including: - hurricanes, typhoons and tropical storms in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans - worldwide animated satellite views - the latest worldwide marine information - the ultraviolet index - US mainland storms, including the latest tornado and severe thunderstorm alerts - animated radar for the US - animated US forecast chart - global climate imagery - space weather - a cool dark mode All data is courtesy of NOAA, NASA and other sources where indicated. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. There are options within the app to track worldwide tropical cyclones, typhoons, hurricanes and other global weather hazards, and comprehensive ocean conditions forecasts for the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Development of NOAA Now is funded in part by ads, which can be removed by selecting the monthly auto-renewing subscription option "Remove Ads" from the app's settings menu. Removing ads also provides access to other premium content. The subscription price of 0.99 USD (in your local currency) will be charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase and, for each renewal, within 24 hours prior to the end of the current month. You can cancel the subscription at any time through your iTunes account settings, but you must do so at least 24 hours before the end of the current month to avoid being charged, and ads will show again at the start of the subsequent month. NOAA Now app reviews

  • Great app but I don’t want to look at the hypocritical Trump ad 1/5

    By Create nickname again7777
Downloaded the app, really liked it until the Trump ad made a lovely appearance (every time I opened it) As scientists I would think you would choose something else!! I guess it’s all about revenue so I must delete the app.
  • Hawaii is Not a US State 1/5

    By ReconMarine911
Apparently, NOAA does not know that Hawaii is the 50th State and therefore is not recognized anymore! I originally downloaded this app it still had Hawaii on it but NO, not anymore! Don’t waste your time with this app!

  • Won’t update 1/5

    By T<
Been trying to update app for two days now!
  • **AVOID ITS A SCAM** 1/5

    By TrueReview12
**Update** CS refuses to respond to emails. Stay away from any of this companies apps. They just want your money. Do not subscribe to anything or turn on location services or notifications. This new company has now started scamming people for information that’s available on NOAA website. The previous owner of NOAA Now used to have a $9.99 fully functional app called NOAA now pro. They discontinued the paid version so that they can make more money by charging a reoccurring monthly fee to remove the bloat ware that they added to the free app. Don’t support these companies that offer a paid full version then take it away and only offer a subscription to get rid of the rubbish. Don’t download it even though it’s free because you’re only going to encourage other app developers with paid apps to do the same. That’s how in app purchases and games that only require a data connection started. Don’t help them start another disaster!!
  • not impressed 1/5

    By done w/names
Set this up for my area—SE—and it would only show Pacific, not Atlantic side or anywhere close to where I live. I did press “allow location while using” and still would not pick it up.
  • Review on this app 1/5

    By donnamo05
I just installed without reading the comments first!!!! I’m getting out of the App Store right now and definitely going to uninstall this app because the most recent message said that although they had it where the app could use their location while they were using the app(the app actually kept keeping up with their location) BEWARE!!! I should have known better! I’ve got into all kinds of trouble for not reading the comments before buying but I never thought to look at the comments on a free app before installing!
  • Crashes! 1/5

  • App ok but too many google ads 3/5

    By argyle
The app works well once you get through the google ads on the front page and before you open any inner pages. Not appreciated on a weather app.

Just about to delete this app
  • Terrible app 1/5

    By Tangier14
This is not from NOAA but from a 3rd party. Continual ads that are almost impossible to close. Can get info directly from the NOAA site. This is a waste of time and a very frustrating app. Would give it zero stars if I could.
  • Cost 1/5

    By ioweather
App is good but not worth price weekly better apps for free

    By Crashski
Granted, I may be doing something wrong but I don’t see any updates on hurricane’s I see pictures only.
  • Not legitimate. 1/5

    By Pfftwhatev
Third party scraping weather data from NOAA.
  • Very disappointed 1/5

    By jabilello
I was looking for NOAA hurricane information.. projected track, wind speed probabilities, etc that you find on the NOAA Hurricane Center web page.. so, all the pretty pictures they have in their ad just are not available in this app... only gives satellite images (which are pretty, but not very informative), and the text updates that are releases 4x per day (they are informative, but a lot of info to sift through).. there is other information , but hurricane info is very limited.. so disappointed..
  • Very glitchy 1/5

    By Wynn621
Don’t download, this is a very glitchy app. Doesn’t add any content. Just go to the NOAA website.
  • Cannot read your updates because of all the ad interruptions 1/5

    By Diheedral
    See above
  • Exceptional graphics! 5/5

    By mo weathergirl
Adds are a pain when you just want a quick peak.
  • Climate Change 2/5

    By Jim the Kiwi
Though I readily agree that massive global fossil fuel use will have an effect I find that the smug statements of empirical fact that are presented as certainty without bothering to be intellectually honest and discuss the full range of data are repulsive and likely will cause pushback If the people running NOAA preserve their credibility they would achieve more
  • Clumsy app; too many full page popup ads 2/5

    By badkitty_
First, the information is clumsily spread out over multiple pages. There is no one central page that will show you all hurricane activity in the Atlantic, for example. Second, while navigating from one submenu to another, you will be greeted with multiple full page popup ads unsolicited. You don’t get to choose for the ads to stay at the bottom of the screen. They open unannounced and take over the screen. Third, once you are in one of the submenus, good luck getting back to the main page. The app is very clumsy in design and had no “at a glance” feature. It is okay if you are desperate but you will get more info and less ads by just visiting NOAA’s website in your browser.
  • Not as expected 2/5

    By BobH1954
No radar, Need better maps and to many pop up adds
  • Tan solo una oportunidad 5/5

Así es, uds, con su informacion tan importante sólo se tiene una oportunidad de salvarse.
  • Horrible 1/5

More advertisements than weather do not bother its crap. I would like to give it no stars or negative stars would be better off

  • Ads ads ads 1/5

    By tyeuyft
You can’t even open a window without game ads popping up. I got a different hurricane ap for free with no ads. Not easy to navigate either.
  • NHC 5/5

    By Octaneman
Great data. Would be nice to separate the graphics from the text somewhat as lay person more interested in graphics.
  • Full screen pop up ads 1/5

    By wandering9
Doesn't deserve the one star. Banner ads are one thing, multiple full screen pop ads that are difficult to dismiss make this app useless
  • Ads 2/5

    By Dirtyd23
Too many adds. Being associated with NOAA you think ads would be non-existent. Should keep associated topics together, example, Hurricane x with Hurricane x, and so on. Looking for updates can be difficult
  • I can’t handle the ads 1/5

    By 1bean2
You can’t even see what the apps is before being bombarded with ads. Ads as soon as you open the app.
  • Clunky and dated page design 2/5

    By PJC57
No flow to this app. Not intuitive. Every time the site is opened, the user has to read the entire page to process next click to get to data. Once finally there, information is very good though. Respectfully, a definite “re-do” is needed.
  • Not as advertised 2/5

    By rdugu
When selecting the app, examples shown were actual images of the “cone of uncertainty”. After opening the downloaded app, it was all text.
  • Nope! Now. 2/5

    By Catfish1112
Nope. Uh-uh. Won’t recommend. We currently have a potential Cat 4 hurricane bearing and I can’t navigate past ads for Final Fantasy and some tiki monkey junk. App is phenomenal if you wanna know if it’ll snow on Christmas Day, but if you life depends on it. Heck, I’ll stick with the local meteorologists. I gave a second star for that time years ago when I could depend on NOAA.
  • Ads do not need to be on this app! 1/5

    By Palmetto Swamp Fox
When such an important app which provides info regarding major storms, it is in poor taste to have long ads or even video game ads that last sixty seconds or greater. Especially when you are trying to get current info. This one is getting deleted! One ⭐️😡😡😡
