I like to be able use VPN at my discretion. Not yours. Once on its a pain in the #@$%. You need to make it easy to turn off and on.When off screen says it’s still on. What gives? Plus app needs to rotate in iPad.
  • What have you done with my IPad VPN? 1/5

    By sulla0
I have a yearly subscription through Apple for the Norton VPN on my Iphone 6s and IPad, since April 8 2019. Today when I checked on the IPad VPN there was a big red patch over it, saying my subscription is no longer working. Since it has worked fine sine April, I consider this theft by changing the promise of security on my two devices. Additionally, This was a renewal in April from the year before, on April 2018. When I called Norton, I was told I had no subscription. I then called Apple support and was told, call Norton. I have had this subscription with one renewal since 2018. Call me using my Norton job # 3989-8095. My vpn was restored 2 days ago, then I got a survey asking if I approved of Norton. After that I got another red banner on my Iphone vpn and became locked out of the app altogether.

  • Difficulty with going on VPN 1/5

    By Dr.DPT
This app has stopped connecting on VPN. It keeps on showing connecting but never moves ahead of that. This is happening on all of my devices including iPhone / iPad / Mac, very disappointed with this performance.
  • Cannot turn off!!! 3/5

    By Gingery Doo
I cannot use Amazon Prime or a few other sites with VPN on. BUT, IT WILL NOT LET ME SHUT IT OFF in settings. I have to uninstall it to accomplish anything. Also, when waking up, it blocks the WiFi from connecting.
  • Will not activate my 1 year account with login 1/5

    By Guitar Autodidact
I have a deluxe 1 yr subscription, but when I try to login with my account credentials (from the norton website), the app will NOT activate my account. I feel like I got ripped off from Norton, because they say that with the Deluxe subscription you get the secure VPN included. It seems that they are trying to get you to pay twice for the same service through the apple app store. This should not be allowed, as this is a double charge if you have already paid for this service through their website.

I downloaded the trial last year, uninstalled it and was charged a year subscription. Since last December, I have been trying to cancel your subscription, there is no cancel subscription button or way to opt out. Followed all instructions in the app and website, still almost a year later, have not been able to unsubscribe or opt out. Do not want this service, I want to be rid of the vpn. HELP!!!
  • Giving me to download the app 1/5

    By PrincessAaliyah14
I was on a game and out of no where this app comes up and say to download while I was playing my game. Like leave me alone I’m trying to play a game and no I’m not going to download this app.
  • Zero stars! Won’t log me in! 1/5

    By Chillaxing dawg
Paid $29.99 for the one year subscription and the app won’t even log me in. It keeps telling me to start a new subscription and then tells me I already have a subscription. Tried to “chat” with “customer service”, which was not helpful. $29.99 spent and got nothing in return. Buyer beware!
  • Hate this app 1/5

    By Gillgirl9
I was forced to download this app. I was on safari and it popped up to install and I have not been able to get back into internet. This f’’ing app is doing exactly what it supposedly is to prevent. I didn’t want and I don’t want it
  • I can’t even get in the app without paying 1/5

    By LunaNena95
Look I can’t even rate this app yet i I want to get in without a free trial and I can’t find how to use the app without a free trial. it’s very difficult to get in without having the free trial! And if anyone can tell me how to get in without the free trial that would be great I have nothing else to say because I can’t get into the app

  • Bait and switch 1/5

    By khi1
My 1-year subscription is apparently only good for 1 device at a time. When I try to log in with another device it says “No Seat Available” and forces me to log out of the other device which is active. What a PAIN! Making matters worse, there is no way to change or upgrade my subscription to multiple devices. Why? I have tried all of the recommended steps on Norton’s website including sending an “invitation email” to to device I am trying to add and I am taken back to a screen that says “No Seat Available.” A möbius strip of frustration with no clear instructions from Norton. This leave only one way to get Norton VPN on several devices—set up multiple accounts/passwords at $29 per device. Certainly not doing that but will be cancelling the subscription when it expires.
  • Interferes with LTE - WiFi transitions 1/5

    By SpectrumStinks
Without Norton VPN my iPhone transitions seamlessly from LTE to home WiFi. After installing Norton VPN, the iPhone won’t automatically transition to my home WiFi when it’s in range. I have to force the transition to WiFi by shutting down LTE data. Also, while on a solid WiFi signal with VpN running, the iPhone will revert to LTE. Norton VPN is now uninstalled. I purchased Norton with lifelock and VPN specifically because of the VPN add on. Been Norton security customer for years, but this is the last year I’ll be using Norton.
  • Secure VPN 1/5

    By joolsjc
The app unexpectedly “turns itself off” very frequently. I have deleted and reinstalled it several times, but the problem remains. I have to shut down and restart my iPhone before I can reconnect to the app. Basically, I get an error message that VPN server cannot be found. I like the app when it actually works, which is not very often.
  • Does Not Work and Crashes iPhone 8 1/5

    By TravelersAmongUs
Per my review of the Norton Mobile Security app, the Secure VPN (coupled with the Mobile Security) interfered with Internet connections, and caused frequent crashes and restarts on my iPhone 8, which began a few weeks after installing and after the last updates. I finally removed both Norton apps and replaced them with NordVPN, which eliminated connection issues and all crashes and restarts have ceased. It is noteworthy that the Secure VPN has never worked on my PC either and I am currently shopping around for a reliable service.
  • It works good, but... 4/5

    By maycollrm
It works very good but it would be very helpful if you guys could create a WIDGET so it could be easier to turn ON/OFF the VPN functions.
  • Good when it works 3/5

    By Johnkevin223
I use the app on my phone and tablet. The main issue I have with the app is when you are connecting to a public WiFi while using the VPN it will not let you connect. You usually have to delete the VPN networking info and then try to add it again while your connected to the wifi network. It is usually a lot to deal with. However when the app does want to work it works well.

I wanted to give this a try. But be warned you will get charged the full price if you download and activate it. NO FREE TRIAL!
  • Protection 5/5

    By Ken6227
I have been using Norton for many years and they just keep getting better and better. The more protection the better. Working just fine for me. Recommended!
  • We need SPEEDS 4/5

    By chillgasm
I’ve been a Norton user for years now. I like the features that you have to offer and at a good price. The only thing I suggest is that you get rid of disconnection bugs and make it FASTER. I would love it if Norton VPN would choose the fastest possible server and if that server is too congested or gets congested then it automatically switches to the next fastest server/location. My mobile carrier has really bad network connections and i need my VPN provider to not make that worse. 4Stars and room for improvement. 3.9 actually but 4 stars. Keep it up.

    By Vegi1
I really like the App, however, can you do anything about the “CAPTCHA” popup that appears when you try to do a search. It thinks I am a dark web attacker. App sometimes fails to appear until you open the app and click on the start button. Even then takes sometime.
  • Device security 3/5

    By par4the course
Doesn’t let you know exactly what device is protected and one day I’ll have two phones protected but only have one phone. Doesn’t show tablet protected when you look for devices protected. VPN is always turning off so every time you turn on device you have to turn on VPN. Don’t really know if I am really secured when using my devices but people say Norton is a good product, well we’ll see.
  • Was great, now stops 3/5

    By yorkieowner2
Was great in the beginning. Now in the morning, VPN is not working and I frequently have to reset network settings to get it working again. Not my internet, everything working good there. VPN needs problems worked out.
  • So far so good 5/5

    By James12165
I only been using it for a week after I signed up Norton with Lifelock. So far, it works on my iPhone XS Max, and my wife and daughter iPhone XR. Feel better knowing that the phone is secured when we use them in public Wi-Fi places like Starbucks. Have not had any issues yet.
  • Norton VPN does not protect your privacy! 1/5

    By SickofWireless
Does not hide/change my Ip4 & v6 ip addresses, location and service provider. Install it and go to site and you will see the same info that shows when not running Norton VPN. Why doesn't Norton change the physical location, provider and ip addresses like all the good VPN providers do. I will stay with my Nord works well... It also does not a kill switch like most good VPNs that shuts down your internet traffic when the VPN disconnects.
  • Great : iPhone. Struggle with iMac 4/5

    By ggconnell
New Norton comes with VPN. I love Norton security. Cannot pay for two VPN’s so will cancel other VPN, mainly need it for the iphone. Works great on iPhone. But I was surprised to discover the VPN was not a good performer on iMac. Only wants to connect: rarely. Tech support tried, but results are the same. Surprised with the name Norton VPN, never had a problem with other VPNs. Strange. But Norton Security is great, just the iMac VPN is disappointing. Hopefully a future upgrade will resolve the iMac connectivity problem.

VPN’s in general can’t be a Lessing and a cure especially if you hat to connect to devices via WiFi. Norton’s VPN is no different I that regard, however it is an AWESOME SECURITY platform. It does an amazing job. GET IT!!

  • Does not stay connected 1/5

    By DeeZeeKay
I installed this as part of Norton’s security suite and was very disappointed. My internet connection was dropping constantly and the VPN was disconnecting and was difficult to get restarted almost every time. At first I thought it was my internet provider, but when I stopped using Norton and started using NordVPN, I completely stopped having this issue. Norton needs to put a lot more time and effort into making this useful.

Apple has a bunch of iPhone 8.9.10. That went firmware updated. The source code leaked publicly a couple years ago. To point your phone may actually running a server on the old os. May have a modified Kernel or worse. I’m proud to say I run Linux (because apple won’t help). They can’t fix the problem. It’s out in the wild. You think they’d want some of the phones that got hacked and aren’t running source code legally.

So far, after months of use, Symantec “24/7 service” has proven a disaster - especially related to the VPN app. Symantec/Norton has been in the security biz long enough to be considered trustworthy - no suspicious connections with the government, ala Kaparsky, just general solid work -and the basic encryption-forwarding to/from VPN server is open public code - making front-end security verifiable - of course we can never be sure what a large company does with the data it *could* collect if it or an employee were to go rogue and start playing man-in-the-middle. But the problem, as I said, has been service and connection. While the direct wireless-to-telco connection has been almost always immediately available, connecting through a wi-fi server - one’s own wi-fi server had been impossible - either the app wouldn’t connect or the connection would vanish in the middle of downloading a web page (though a Win-7 machine using the same Norton security package had no/few problem(s)). Call Norton Service and someone speaking one of the Indian Subcontinent English dialects would blame Apple and promise a “Second Tier technician” would call back at a scheduled time. A dozen calls over 6 months, and the (in reality) first-level tech has yet to return the call. BUT the reason for the call seems to be getting corrected with recent upgrades. The current version seems to be grabbing a VPN gateway though Wi-Fi and holding it 80-95% of the time. Upgrades initially created problems for machines wired to home gateways, but this new problem was short-lived. Still - Symantec’s move to follow MS, which moved all English-language support for Win-7 (when it existed) to the Philippines via narrow-band VOIP, and similar moves by other software firms ignores the fact that even every English-speaking nation speaks a different English, and, combined with narrow VOIP bandwidth it makes communicating almost impossible (the same would be true if Indian English-speakers were forced to work with many US-English speakers). Big companies need at least one phone center in each nation/region where they do business (a speaker of New England English would be better off with the average middle-Canadian than an unrefined deep-Southern US operator.) And stop calling phone bank people equipped with a “tell them to do step 1, then step 2 ...) “technicians”. Rare small companies have phone assistance staff the technically literate can hold a conversation with. I really feel for the “appliance” computer users who have no more idea what’s s in the computer box than they have about how their fridge works- which is, unfortunately, none, trying to get advise turning to a tech-illiterate phone center employee for assistance. Again, it’s not the fault of the phone room staff, who have a high burn-out rate answering questions from people who don’t even know what to ask, and taking abuse from customers who they are not able to help or get a person who at least understands a chunk of hardware or code well enough to solve an ignorant user’s problems. We’re talking people we too frequently yell at for their ignorance making local minimum wage! Place the blame where it belongs - with the greed-heads who “lease” us code with a disclaimer saying “no guarantees”, sell whatever info they can get from us or keep it on systems without decent security, and refuse to provide proper staff to fix things. As I said- Symantec may have solved its problems - but won’t talk to us about it.
  • Thumbs Up 5/5

    By Mike Choose Another
Does exactly what I wanted it to do.
  • Love this app 5/5

    By marywrennclark
After reading reviews I was admit expecting to like this app as much as I do. It’s easy and I especially appreciate that you can easily turn it off and on. Some streaming (like Amazon Prime IN your home) may not load. So you can easily turn it off and then turn it on again when you leave home. I downloaded it mainly for a trip we are taking. So far I think it’s fantastic and I feel safer and more secure with it on.
  • Good 4/5

    By Ppittman6564
Works well with all my devices
  • Norton secure VPN 3/5

I am constantly having to turn it’s getting to be a pain and prevents me from enjoying the benefits of the program!!! Very frustrating 😖
  • Big security risk 1/5

    By LSTNJ
This app allows previously used open WiFi hotspots without starting the VPN. In my view this app should start the VPN automatically without user intervention and prevent the phone from connecting without the VPN when user returns to a open hotspot. I trusted this app will protect my connections and instead created a false expectation and a big security hole.
  • Slowing my WiFi speed 70% 1/5
