NOVA: Hard Conversations

NOVA is a rehearsal and coaching app for people who are new to managing and have a difficult workplace conversation coming up. START WITH THE CONVERSATION YOU'RE DREADING Describe who it's with, what happened, the outcome you want and what worries you. Or pick one from the scenario library: a report who keeps missing deadlines, setting expectations with a new report, your first 1:1, saying no to your director, boundaries with a former peer and more. Or choose a short drill that trains a single skill. PREPARE A short prep screen for your goal, facts, desired outcome, context, likely reaction and what you must not do, with a summary you can read before you start. ROLE-PLAY Type your opening line. The other person reacts in the style you choose: defensive, confused, emotional, dismissive, agreeable but vague, argumentative or surprised. Their lines are written by AI when live AI is on, and by a clearly labelled script when it is off. SCORED FEEDBACK YOU CAN CHECK Each attempt is scored on a visible rubric: Clarity, Specificity, Tone and Clear ask. Tap any skill to see which criteria you met, which you didn't, and the evidence from your own words. You also get what worked, what to change and a stronger way to open. TRY AGAIN AND COMPARE Run the conversation again and see attempt 1 versus attempt 2, skill by skill. REFLECT AND FOLLOW UP After the real conversation, note what felt difficult, what you'd say differently and whether you reached your objective, then set one follow-up. PROGRESS Your score history, strongest and weakest skill, and a suggested next drill based on your own recent scores. YOUR LANGUAGE NOVA is available in English, Turkish, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Italian and Russian. Switch language any time on the Home or Settings screen; the live AI answers in the language you choose. YOUR DATA Conversations, scores, reflections and follow-ups stay on your device. NOVA has no accounts. Text is sent to NOVA's AI service only when you play a role-play turn, ask for scoring, draft a scenario or ask for reflection questions, and only after you allow live AI. That text goes to a third-party AI provider (Groq, with OpenRouter as a backup). You can switch live AI off at any time and delete your data in Settings. NOVA PRO (optional auto-renewing subscription) - More live AI requests per day - Advanced manager scenarios: conflict between two reports, a first performance conversation, a manager taking credit, burnout, a raise request The core practice loop is free. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase (after the free trial, if you have one). The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
