Easiest way to get birth control 5/5
I love Nurx. All I had to do was pick which birth control I wanted. A nurse then messaged me a couple days later asking about my choice. She also gave me helpful information about the pill I chose. Apparently it has a very high blood clot risk. She gave me better, cheaper options. Once I agreed, I got a message from a doctor telling me all the risks and how to use it. Shipping was 2-3 days. Insurance paid for all 3 packs. I will continue to use Nurx as long as I want to be on birth control.
Only did. Is because I needed my pills ASAP because my prescription ended. well, now I guess I’ll have to be off of birth control for a month because this app just took absolutely forever for anything to happen. Just ridiculous. I wish the app would let you know what’s going on with your order so you aren’t waiting forever and wondering what is happening. I made an appointment with a doctor for the end of the month so it is pointless for me to use this now because of how long it’s taking.
Take note 5/5

Nurx is an excellent service, it has been life changing for thousands of women. Extremely knowledgeable medical providers, customer care analysts who truly care, many insurances accepted, cash prices excellent, no fee for consultation, free shipping, and the only cost is for the medication. And if you have insurance, more often than not, a $0 co-pay due.
Easy birth control 5/5
Not even kidding, this app is fantastic. NOT a joke or a fake! I’ve been on the same BC for almost 10 years and going to the clinic to get it renewed started to become a huge hassle with my work schedule. Then their policies changed and I have to order through the state and it was every 3 months I had to take off to go in and sit in a chair to tell the Dr., yes I still want and use my BC no it isn’t causing me issues. I ALMOST stopped taking BC out of just the ridiculous inconvenience of it! Found this app through Instagram and it has been a life saver! My insurance covered the off-brand of my prescription and for $12 they sent the prescription right to my pharmacy and in 2 days from downloading the app I had a year supply of BC. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!!
Was great until they overdrafted my account 2/5
After switching jobs I have no insurance at the moment and can’t afford to pay out of pocket. I asked them to cancel my next shipment until further notice and was told no problem, until I just got a notification a few mins ago from my bank saying they’d charged me $90 and this overdrafted my account. Thanks guys, I totally didn’t need to buy groceries or anything.
Love it! 5/5
Ok I seriously love this app and concept. I am extremely busy and usually don’t have time to get to the doctors. I had done my research and been on birth control before so I knew which one I wanted and getting it was super easy. All I had to do was fill out the info and take a pic of my insurance card! I had it shipped to me at no cost and my insurance covered it fully. Thanks Nurx!
Won’t take payment 1/5
I signed up for the service but when i get to the payment screen it says inaccurate payment method. Please fix!
Amazing , so convenient! 5/5
I was a little skeptical at first but I was pleasantly surprised. I was able to get my BC in about four days and start it immediately and my prescribing Dr was able to answer all of my questions about which BC was best for me and I love it!
Great Experience 5/5
I was skeptical about this app after reading mixed reviews but decided to give it a try and am SO glad I did. They processed my order quicky and communicated with me through the whole process about the status of my order. When I ran into an insurance problem a real representative reached out quickly to resolve the issue and my pills were shipped within 2 days. Even though the whole process took about a week, I wouldn’t have been able to get a traditional refill for another month because my doctor was booked, so this app was a lifesaver!
Well so much for even trying this it doesn’t apply in my state 👎🏻
Life saver 5/5
Let’s be honest here, who has an hour to sit at the doctors office for birth control. It took me 20 minutes (I was also eating lunch or it may have taken 5) to fill out the question, put in my insurance, and place my order. No worry about going to the pharmacy and it took 3 days to ship start to finish.
Simple and great !! 5/5
Absolutely amazing and fast !!!! Got my pills within a week😁 been using nurx for a year now.
It’s real! 5/5
I thought this was wayyy to good to be true! A friend told me about this app -which is the ONLY reason I tried it. Everything is 100% legit it came faster than expected and I got a 3 months supply which is super nice! With my insurance it was completely free even shipping! Definitely recommend this!! I read several of the reviews on this app and feel the need to say I don’t have any types of health issues and was not a difficult customer at all (not saying that the people reviewing this app poorly are difficult) but i had a great experience with customer service was contacted back within the hour and my order was processed quickly probably bc I went with the first suggestion that popped up as a result of my answered questions. I have zero complaints the convenience of this app is wonderful especially since I work full time and have a hard time getting time off to go to the dr
Perfect! So convenient! 5/5
It was super easy to pick out the birth control I wanted, upload my information and receive the birth control, all for free! I got a 3 month supply in the mail just a couple days after ordering it. So much easier, and cheaper, than going back to the doctor to renew every year.
No more docs 5/5
I aged out of my insurance with my parents so I don’t have coverage and always thought going to see a doctor to be put on birth control would be way too expensive for me to afford. So once I heard about nurx I decided to give it a try. I discussed some issues I’ve had in the last with certain birth controls and got prescribed one that hasn’t given me any of the bad side effects I’ve experienced before. The questions were very straight forward and any questions I had were answered very promptly. After placing my order I received my prescription for 3 months in a bout 10 days at a rate of about $15 a month. Super happy with nurx!
Life saver 5/5
This app has been amazing. With my insurance, birth control is free and delivered right to my door. Especially with social anxiety, I don’t have to feel awkward talking to a doctor. Any sort of issue, they do everything they can to fix it. They make getting birth control incredibly easy. Don’t know what I would do with out Nurx. I recommend this to everyone.
Easier to just go to doctor 1/5
I would give this zero stars if possible. My insurance wouldn’t go through and they want me to do something about it. My insurance is fine. It’s just been nothing but a headache.
A LIFE SAVER! 5/5
I had kept seeing the ad for nurx over & over. I was a bit hesitant on trying it out. I’m so glad I did. They have quick service & helped me on choosing the right birth control. I love that I don’t have to make pointless dr. Appointment just to get birth control. This is so easy!
I tried to use this app to order bc, i was then told that what i had requested was not appropriate, that i would have to order something else! I thought they were supposed to be helping the patients! Not dictating what you need to take!
Quick and Easy 5/5
I moved to a new state for a new job and lost my health insurance, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do about my birth control situation. I looked into Nurx and The Pill Club to compare the options, but ended up choosing Nurx at the end because of a brand preference. The ENTIRE process took less than a week. I started on Monday and my birth control was delivered by Thursday. I was very impressed with the quick turn around!
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!! 1/5
It seemed like a dream come true at first. Birth control delivered right to your door... what’s not to love? Here’s what’s not to love: unanswered messages, prescriptions not being filled on time, prescriptions not being filled at all, inconsistent communication/feedback from medical providers, and you CANNOT delete any of the information you give them. I just tried to delete my account, which isn’t possible on the app or website, so I called their customer service number. I was told the account and ALL my sensitive information (CC info, Drivers License, Insurance Cards) cannot be deleted or removed. The best she could do was “deactivate” it, which honestly isn’t good enough given the bad history I have with this company. I love this idea but Nurx is not executing it. LOOK ELSEWHERE.
Convenient for Busy People 5/5
Easy and fast, like (I believe) access to birth control should be. I think the low reviews seem to stem from very specific needs/issues that may simply require more in-person care than Nurx can or should offer. I’m fully satisfied with this service.
Not worth it 1/5
I originally sang this app praises. I was receiving my BC on time, and everything was great! Until they convinced me (begrudgingly) to sign up for automatic renewal. You won’t have to do anything but receive your BC in the mail, they said! Alas, months go by, and no word, no BC. I finally had to reach out, the day I run out, to find that they “misplaced” my account.
They are not fast, not efficient, and truly not worth it. You might as well spend the 15 minutes at the doctor to get your year long prescription because at least you know it will be reliable and you will actually get BC when you need it.
I do not recommend this app, at all.
This app is amazing! 5/5
I am so glad Nurx exists! It is so easy to use and makes birth control far easier than before. Having 3 months supply delivered to my house is great!
Easy, Effective, and Time Efficient! 5/5
Instead of taking time out of my work day to head over to my doctors office... I was able to enter my information through this app and have the same result with out a doctors visit (or fee)! This app makes refilling my birth control subscription easy and stress free! Nurx also does a wonderful job communicating with their customers. 100% recommend!
App is great, customer service is great and they are super efficient. I have had no issues getting my bc on time and they even auto refill for me every 3 months without having to do anything.
Must have for women!! 5/5
Been ordering birth control from this app for the past 2yrs & I LOVEit!!!
So now I’m nervous bc I don’t have insurance and will be paying out of pocket. I just looked up the cost of what I was wanting online and almost had a heart attack. I realized afterward they said bc was STARTING at 15, meaning it’ll go up from there. Anyway, now I’m scared I’m going to be charged a crazy amount since they done have prices on their name brand or the generic of that brand. They haven’t given me a price to approve either. So I don’t know what to do. Is there a way to cancel an order?
By sellly bellly
I never ever write reviews but I’m happy with this app. I was sketched out about ordering birth control on an app. I needed to refill my birth control within a week and just gave this app a shot. The process was fast and delivered 2 days earlier than expected. No complaints no issues. I highly recommend it. Great price too.
Super easy! 5/5
This app made my experience super easy! I followed along with the instructions, spoke to a representative about my concerns and my prescription was delivered in less than a week! If you follow the directions there’s no reason this can’t be a quick and painless process. Thank you Nurx!
Can’t update payment info 1/5
By Brittani B.
I love this app and it used to work perfectly. Now I’m unable to update my credit card info which means that I can’t receive my prescription for the month. The app hasn’t worked all month and now I’m going to cancel my subscription.
So many issues.. not worth it 1/5
This is such a genius idea, however this company cannot get it together. I had such a hard time just getting them to prescribe me and getting the process going. I’m paying out of pocket as I do not have insurance now, so there should be no headaches. Well when I finally got to refill, they sent me emails about my prescription being filled which was nice since after 3 months I forgot that was coming up. I started getting nervous when I hadn’t gotten an email saying it had been shipped a week before my pill start day (Sunday). But since they are a birth control company and are fully aware of when I would be using the pill, I assumed they would have it on time.. nope. I won’t be receiving it until the day after I need to take it.. why would they procrastinate shipping this to me?!?! You are a birth control company. I’m done with them. Now my pill cycle is going to be messed up. How can I trust them next time to get it on time?
Not Very Clear Upfront 2/5
My issues with this app, is it’s not clear about the connection between insurance and prescriptions. I have Cigna through my work and my plan usually covers majority of birth control. However, when you’re shopping for birth controls, it doesn’t differentiate between what IS covered by your insurance and what is not. It was only after I submitted my first request that I found out both prescriptions, (they contacted me saying the Beyaz I requested tends to always be out of stock or not approved by insurances so Yaz would be a good alternative) were in fact NOT covered by my insurance. Once I found out, I go to cancel my request (my request had not been approved and processed at that time) and was told it’s their policy not to cancel initial orders and would only be able to cancel future orders AFTER already charging me. It was only after I pushed to have my request cancelled that they relented; I was not going to be charged $200 for a birth control when my insurance would probably cover other options. While I accept the responsibility of doing my research, I should have looked my coverage before I made the request, it’s very distrusting that they don’t take into account that is best COST wise as well. If you’re going to make me provide all my insurance information, it should be taken into consideration with the birth control offers. I’m very weary now of their offers as they don’t offer you what is covered and don’t confirm with you if your prescriptions is in fact not covered by your plan, they just charge you anyway instead of finding a more affordable alternative. This is not the way to shop for birth control, a lot of information is left out and misleading.
I was desperate but should have waited 1/5
I was desperate to find a new birth control that was affordable so i chose to try this app when i saw it come up on the recommended feedback. what happened was that i ultimately got screwed out of my money. Please don’t do this to yourself. The worst customer service i’ve ever had!
Really convenient service, app needs update 4/5
The customer support team got me the exact brand I needed in a week or so of downloading the app and were really communicative and helpful. Really appreciated that I didn’t have to go to a doctor with my crazy schedule. However, the app shows my order as an error or cancelled. Hopefully Nurx can fix these issues soon - great thing going here!
THANK YOU 5/5
I literally received the Bc I wanted within a few days.
Useful but bad customer service 3/5
I started using Nurx at a point in time when I was unable to visit a doctor regularly. Signing up was incredibly difficult and reaching out to a representative is incredibly frustrating (sometimes they just don’t respond). After a year of use I decided to cancel because it was too difficult to make changes to my subscription and Nurx actually wasn’t billing my insurance correctly so I wound up grossly overpaying for birth control to be shipped to me. Overall, the service was useful and I would recommend it to anyone who either doesn’t have access to a doctor or really hates going to the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions.
This app is such a good idea and makes getting birth control extremely convenient but the app is so buggy, it’s really frustrating. I’m not sure if my refill date was changed or not and when I go to use the messenger nothing shows up and is impossible to use.
So easy & straightforward 5/5
Answered a few questions, and within a week my BC was delivered. Such a great app!
No doctors 1/5
I wanted to try this app out but I was new to BC so I choose to talk to a doctor to see what the best prescription for me would be. But since I live in Louisiana, it’s says their only accepting patients from CA, NY, MA, WA, DC, IL, OH, PA, VA,FL,MI,MO,NC,MN,NJ,IN, and TX. So it looks like I will have to pay for a visit to the doctor.
Not willing to correct their mistake. 2/5
This service, at first was great. Then took an unfortunate nose dive. I set up my profile and that was portion was so easy, then within a week I had birth control at my door. I used my insurance so it was all free. Then all of a sudden I received a charge of $47 on my card, thankfully I receive notifications when my card is used. I saw it was from Nurx, I assumed it must have been a mistake since every time prior of refilling my prescription it was free. I sent an email saying their must be a mistake, since I’ve been charged $0 the entire time using Nurx services, it’s odd I’m now being charged nearly $50. Since they automatically refill your prescription for you (at first this seems nice) you’d never know the wiser that you are being charged, and they don’t worn you either. I logged onto my account to see what happened, I see a message my pills are on the way but no warning of any charges. I remember I recently changed my health coverage plan, and did not update the card to my Nurx profile, CRAP, but I didn’t worry at first. I simply asked Nurx for a refund or to charge the correct insurance. I informed them I wasn’t satisfied with their services and would end up going back to my doctors for Rx refills since I’ve never had trouble there, and before I knew it they CANCELLED my account! I didn’t even cancel it yet, I was still interested in trying to sort this out. They never offered to correct their mistake, and kept saying that was copay charge? I informed them copays aren’t $0 for the entire services then randomly go to $47. Ugh, really bummed this didn’t work out. I never leave bad reviews, but they have given me no choice...
Impressed & convenient 5/5
I was skeptical but figured I had nothing to lose & I’m glad I gave it a try. They were responsive & provided good communication throughout the entire process, even when I had some issues with my insurance. My pills arrived today and the entire process took just over a week due to the holiday.
When I try to take a picture of my insurance card, the screen just goes white. Plz fix. Other than that, love it!
It works, eventually 2/5
By Molly Butterfoss
I was beyond thrilled to hear about this app, since I hate dealing with constant appointments for birth control refills. It’s just ok though. There’s a glitch logging in with Touch ID and if you follow external links they send you in the chat interface, there’s no way back within the app, and other quirks like that. I got quick and friendly responses but felt like I was talking to a robot as I asked the same simple question again and again—how to properly switch between my old and new birth control methods—and got irrelevant links or simply ignored, and someone different answers each time without seeming to glance back at your overall chat history.
Was fine until I switched insurance, then everything went downhill 1/5
I used Nurx for a year without issues. But then I switched insurance and then it went downhill. DO NOT USE if you are covered by the CVS Pharmaceutical Benefits Manager.
The first Rx I received from Nurx on my new insurance was a three month supply, even though Nurx’s app said I had only received a one month supply. Nurx continued to send eligibility checks to my insurance every month and sending me distressing messages, which was annoying and also signals how unreliable their technology is. This was in February.
I also told Nurx to adjust my Rx to send every three months to reflect that I was now eligible to receive a 3mo supply with my new insurance and Nurx could not get this straight in their system. They told me that my insurance had lied to me when they said I was eligible for a 3mo supply and that receiving a 3mo supply from them had been some kind of “fluke”, which simply does not happen, Nurx had just messed up and wouldn’t admit it.
Nurx was supposed to send a new Rx in April. They completely forgot to send the Rx until I noticed I hadn’t received anything wayyyy after when I was supposed to. I messaged them asking what was up and they were completely unapologetic, even though I had been missing my medications that I need!!!!!
They put in a Rx in June—pulled eligibility, authorized my insurance and everything—but it was never mailed to me. Eventually, I told them to cancel my subscription because this was so unreliable, but I still couldn’t fill my Rx because Nurx had already authorized it. I continued messaging them to figure out what was u and Nurx continued to blame me, my insurance, everyone but themselves, for their negligence in failing to send my Rx. Nurx did not take appropriate action to retract my claim until I threatened to call regulators and file a complaint with my insurance.
Also their new app is really glitchy and doesn’t work.
Bigger Reach 1/5
im not exactly sure how states and stuff work for apps like this but i definitely believe the reach should be bigger. i live in a state in which they don’t provide services to and i thinks that’s really crappy. it seems like a great and efficient way to get bc and things revolving around it and i definitely would have recommended it to some of my friends IF we were allowed. if the reach changes then i’ll definitely check it out and use the app but until then you have lost quite a few customers.
SO SO CONVENIENT 5/5
This app is amazing! I am lucky enough to have health insurance so it was free. It was easy to tell a doctor about my PCOS and she helped pick out a combo pill that would work best for me! Which is great because I had just gotten a well woman’s check with my OBGYN but forgot to talk about birth control and I didn’t want to pay for another visit. It was shipped in less than a day once the order was placed and I received the three month supply is less than 3 days!!
If I could rate 0 stars, I would. 1/5
Don't even waste your time. After waiting a month to receive my birth control from Nurx, they messaged me they were out of stock. I paid $12 to have the prescription sent to my local pharmacy. After picking it up, my receipt showed I only have 4 refills. I messaged them asking why I did not have enough refills for the year. I was then informed they could only send me enough to last me 90 days. I already compromised and chose a birth control they carried since they didn't carry mine. When they were out of stock for the one I ordered, I paid $12 for the birth control (which again wasn't even the one I wanted originally). Now I'm being told that is only good for 90 days, and I'll have to pay out of pocket for future months. So they accepted my insurance for 3 months but not for the next 9 months? Sounds like a scam. Stay away.
Update: still having issues. Wish I could rate lower than 0 stars. Seriously f*** this company.
Don’t bother...use Lemonaid 1/5
If you actually want a prescription, don’t be honest about your health history. I’ve been on the same prescription for the last 10 years and explained exactly why. They refused to give me the prescription i asked for—My fault for being honest (i only was because I wasn’t sure what history/records they had access to). Additionally, I specifically stated multiple times I needed the specific combination pill I was on for severe acne and instead my concerns were ignored and she suggested a progesterone only pill which doesn’t help acne and can also make it worse. I work 48 hours a week, have no PTO and don’t have time for a doctors visit to be honest. I’ll be using a different service & not recommending Nurx, unfortunately since I was excited for this option.
I then used Lemonaid ($10 with a coupon code you can google) instead. It was immediate, easy and my prescription is ready to pick up today or you can have it shipped.
