Nice app 5/5
The message is slowly replied but the whole experience is pretty good.
My insurance lapsed when I switched employers, so I decided to give this app a try for my BC. I tried to get a birth control prescribed to me that I have been taking for 10 years and they wanted to change it due to my high blood pressure. I have been taking medicine for my HP and the same BC for over a year with no side effects and it was monitored by my doctor. Well that info didn’t matter to them so they refused to prescribe me my BC and they wanted to switch me. We all know what happens when we switch to a new BC. Hormones messing up, so I told them no. I’ll just go with out it till my insurance kicks in.
Just don’t transfer your prescription 1/5
This is a real service, they will prescribe you real birth control. However if you should have to transfer your prescription they charge you a $12 fee, which is total crap in my opinion. I would not recommend this option to any of my friends. Go to your doctor, pharmacist or planned parenthood...this service is only good if you use their delivery service.
Awesome service! Very satisfied. 5/5

In case you’re in doubt, don’t be! This service is awesome. Normally I get my birth control prescription through Planned Parenthood but I end up having to take the time out of my schedule and pay the fee to get my script refilled once a year which is honestly a waste of time for me since nothing really changes since I’m married, and if I did have any concerns I could ask about them at my yearly gyno appointment. This app was really easy to use and they offer tons of birth control options. If they have the exact name brand you’re currently using you can google other names your formula is listed under and they will have one of them at least. Response was super prompt and I even had a few follow up questions which were answered within the hour. Bonus; my pills are $8 cheaper than I have been paying for the last couple of years.
Good at first... but not worth it 2/5
It was so great for the first month or two of my prescription. My PMH is pretty simple so my bc request was approved pretty quickly. BUT, they switched between submitting for 90-day refills and 30-day refills which my insurance company did not like. They also sent multiple different generic brands, which might not be a big deal to some but I can definitely tell the difference when I am switching brands every other month or going back and forth between two. Finally, they charged me an extra fee when transferring my prescription to a different mail order pharmacy (something that is typically free with other pharmacies or insurance). So it seems like a great idea at first, but really just save yourself the headache if you can it’s NOT WORTH IT.
Do it! 5/5
Yes. This app is one of the best things that’s happened to me. I used to dread having to go to my local clinic to get birth control. It really is too good to be true that you can just order it in an app... but you can. I placed my order ($5) for your first pack and received it in less than 2 weeks. After that, they regularly send you 3 packs every 3 months and you don’t have to put in a new request each time or anything extra. Personally, it’s a little more expensive for me than going to the clinic (I also don’t use any insurance) but it’s definitely worth it since I don’t have to physically go anywhere. The team is very responsive if you have questions or concerns. And btw I was not paid to post this review I just really love the app 😂 do it ladies!
Need this in GA and every other state they don’t offer it in!!! Thanks!!
Go to a real clinic 1/5
I was so excited about this app. I thought it would be a convenient way to get prep and avoid doctors visits. It was definitely convenient, but that came at a cost. There is NO transparency on pricing or cost until you’re already billed.
First off, the home test kit. I have overall great health insurance with a pretty big network, and yet My lab tests were conducted by an out of network provider. There’s no option to find an in-network lab, you don’t get to choose or find an affordable lab. I was slapped with a $980 medical bill from the at home testing, when I know I could have EASILY gone to planned parenthood or a local clinic and gotten all these tests done for exponentially less money. Be weary of that. My prep also costs $75 per refill, even after my insurance. You’ll get a nice little message in NURX telling you that your total was 0.00 for the refill, but that’s because it’ll be on your medical bill instead.
Just go to a real clinic instead. It might feel like more of a hassle and you might have an uncomfortable conversation with your doctor, but at the end of the day, doctors are there for your health and your conversations are confidential. I really wanted to love this app, but the lack of transparency on cost is a deal breaker for me.
Good at first 2/5
I was able to finally get the birth control I’ve been wanting to go back on. However, they cancelled my order in the middle of processing it saying that my insurance does not cover that type of birth control. I also said generics are okay, so that does not make sense to me. Especially since I was able to get my first package no problem. I will no longer be using this app.
Can’t process insurance 1/5
The whole point of this is to get birth control delivered to your home without the pharmacy step. Every time I tried to upload my insurance info they always found an error processing, even tho everything was correct. Honestly, it’s super frustrating! I’ve had to use my insurance this year before for various reasons, so I know it works. And I double checked the info as well, so as far as I’m concerned Nurx just can’t process my insurance for some reason. It’s not even an unusual insurance company—it’s United Healthcare for God’s sake! Guess I’ll go back to making my monthly trips to CVS. So incredibly frustrating!
Can’t even get the app or website to open 1/5
Well, I would like to try this service, but I’ve spend the last 20 minutes trying to get the app to even open. All it does is buffer, and the website does the same thing, on my phone and my computer!!! So frustrating!!
Awesome and convenient!!! 5/5
I LOVE this app! Total lifesaver. I used to have insurance under my school so I would always pick up BC from my campus. However as soon as I graduated it was no longer covered so I had to change my insurance, however I didn’t have a general gynecologist anymore since the one I saw was on campus. I didn’t really want to pay a high copay for doctors visits just for a prescription BC, so I turned to this app and I’m so happy I did. My original doctor prescribed me a kind that I didn’t see on the list here, but I messaged A nurx physician and they gladly gave me the birth control I’ve been taking. They are so quick to respond to my messages and I always receive my packs on time! I was going out of town for a while and wanted to make sure I had enough BC on me, so they even sent me my next refill a little early to ensure it would get to me on time. This app is honestly very convenient and I am yet to have any bad experiences with it (I’ve had for about a year now)!

I was definitely skeptical at first but i’m pleased with the service and how fast i received my prescription 😌🙏🏽
Not available in my state
100% recommend 5/5
I was able to get the exact birth control pill that was previously prescribed to me by my doctor. They sent me email and text updates EVERY STEP of the way. From order confirmation to the moment it was delivered to my doorstep. The survey they you in the beginning is fairly thorough in terms of helping you choose the right birth control for you. The pills came within 4 days after me placing my first order. Service was awesome. This app is so great! Especially if you can’t see a doctor to get your birth control like me.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD! BAD! NO! 1/5
THIS APP IS A SCAM!! DO NOT DOWNLOAD.
Was happy...But starting to think they are nothing but a SCAM 1/5
Initially I placed an order for a 90 days supply of the ring bc. On every notification I received after set up, it stated I would be receiving 3 mnths worth. I get the shipment there is only one ring. I contact them and was told that some pharmacies dont fill it 3 at a time and they only send single doses but they assured me that each month I will receive one shipment instead of every 3mnths. Fine, now I start to get notices that my next shipment is being filled etc... I then receive a notice stating that my insurance does not work with their pharmacy and I have 3 options... To either pay out of pocket, fwd to another pharmacy but there is a $12 transfer fee, or cancel all together...So I told them to transfer and they charged me the $12... Now, I ask them if this change was something new, because I received my initial item just fine through my insurance. They respond only thanking me for the transfer info and state to let them know if I need anything further. So, I ask again... I got my initial item through you guys, now all of a sudden your pharmacy does not work with my insurance.. is this new? I get a response stating the same crap they told me when they explained that my insurance doesn't work with them and what my options are. So I asked them again, and I am waiting to see what they reply with this time... Whats funny is prior to this, when I communicated with them they were quick to respond and sometimes responded right away. Now they are taking days even when i write them right back. And its also funny how no one understands what I am asking and they are responding like an automated response when initially they were holding conversations with me and answering everything id ask directly.... So yea, I am sensing scam!!!
Love it! So convenient! 5/5
I have been using this app for about a year now and I love it! It has always been easy to use, I was able to get my birth control pills that I always used before and they never had any problems with my insurance and my pills were always mailed to my home on time! Now I am in the process of renewing my insurance and I also needed more pills, so I submitted a new request and asked them if they would notify me, if my insurance was denied, before they charged my account. I got a response back within a day and got everything worked out so it would still be affordable for me if my insurance renewal hasn’t been processed yet. I love the Nurx app and all the doctors and associates are very responsive and helpful. I’ve never had any issues and it makes getting my pills so easy!
Confused at this point 1/5
Sooooo I tried to purchase a month of birth control but they can’t send to my state? I don’t under why not or why they don’t tell you in the description what states they’ll deliver to.
Worst experience ever 1/5
I have never written a review for an app ever but this app honestly deserves one!! I started off with a $5 birth control pack which was smooth at first. But after I wanted to get two more packs and was automatically charged $60 without being told. Then I got charged for 3 more packs. Now they told me they’ll charge me $75 and will only be able to refund $45 which is frustrating!! The take forever to prescribe, worst customer service ever, the company takes your money before they even tell you the cost. All they care about is money rather than helping their customers!!!! Do not recommend.
By Grice 98
So I'm in college and I wanted to start birth control without my mom finding out even though I'm grown lol... Anyway the process was easy and smooth and I didn't get charge anything because my insurance covered it they send the pills and the process was great. The reason they don't have five stars is because the response time is long at times and confusing.
Love love love it 5/5
I’ve been using nurx for a year now, I have dysmenorrhea and my periods where unbearable to the point I would have to miss work and be sick 2-3 days. Not having insurance made it hard to get birth control which helps control cramps and irregularities. I discovered nurx and gave it a try. The customer service is beyond excellent and a pack without insurance cost me $15 each and $45 for a 3 month supply. Nurx has really been a miracle for my body and I will continue using this excellent service. Use my code HAPPYFRIEND-94TG for $20 off your first order, you won’t regret trying nurx!!
7x more expensive, 100x more frustrating 1/5
Entire lack of communication (for two months) and INSANE cash pricing on the product I was after, turn this from what was supposed to be a painless process into another pointless app. They proposed $480 for a 3 month supply of medication I get from Walgreens for around $70 total, OR I can let their doctors choose a random medication without any say in what that is!
I get it, everyone is trying to get rich quick, but in my experience that’s what Nurx cares about more than being a fair honorable company. After screwing with this for multiple months, it’s easier to just go back to the doctor. Which is really saying something!
Delete. Block. Goodbye.
So disappointed 2/5
I used this app for almost a year with no issues and loved it. However recently the service has fallen apart and I can’t believe how awful the customer service is. I didn’t receive my prescription so I logged into the app to see what was taking so long and it notified my that my co-pay had gone up from 0$ to almost 500$. I contacted my health insurance which hadn’t changed at all and called Nurx. I spoke to a manager who blamed my health insurance and said they would look into it and get back to me within the day. 7 days later I didn’t hear from them and called again. The person who I talked to said it had never been looked into and said their pharmacy had made a mistake, the co-pay was 0$. He said he would send me a tracking code and my birth control would be in the mail shortly. Almost 2 weeks after that, I had never gotten updates on the status of my order and had to contact Nurx for the 3rd time. They said they shipped it but it has now been over a month since I should have received my birth control and haven’t. I ran out of my birth control and am currently off of it until I can find a better option because Nurx never even followed up. Their customer service is AWFUL for a service that really needs to be on top of its game.
I’ve been off birth control since 2015 when I moved to an area that doesn’t have a Planned Parenthood for over a hundred miles. I’m also uninsured so seeing a ob/gyn is completely unaffordable for me. I was able to get a prescription and have a three month supply delivered to me in under a week. I probably couldn’t have even been able to see a doctor in that time. The total cost was $57 that’s a three month supply so 15 x3 and a medical consultation fee(only in North Carolina). I was able to use a coupon code that brought it down to $27. This is seriously the best way to take control of your reproductive health!
Not impressed 1/5
I’ve been waiting for almost 2 weeks now after placing my order and no one is telling me anything. It all sounded amazing but I don’t know if or when my order will ever get handled. Hopefully someone will answer and I can change my review but so far they apparently don’t like me and I don’t like them.
100% satisfied customer!!! 5/5
This company by far, hands down, was the fastest, easiest way I have ever received my birth control pills! I ordered the brand I have always taken and it was processed and delivered within a couple weeks. Thank you!
Awesome company 5/5
I don’t have enough money to make a gyno visit at the moment so I started this up a few months back and had to suspend my subscription for a few months because I both had enough pills and not enough money to keep stockpiling. Around the time my subscription was supposed to resume because I was running low on pills (as in I had a week left of pills), I didn’t realize there was a problem with my insurance so I talked to support who helped me fix the problem that same day and my next set of pills was in my mailbox 2 days later. Their service has been an incredible godsend for me
App doesn’t work 1/5
Uninstalled and reinstalled everything’s blank and it doesn’t save answers to questions, freezes etc. tried to go through profile questions 4 times and gave up, kept freezing.
It was easy to sign up and they was fast shipping received it in less than two weeks the exact birth control I wanted I am very happy customer.
Does not provide EXTENSIVE wait times until AFTER you put your card info in 😂 1/5

So, I decided to try this app as I have been traveling a lot lately. Figured it would only take say normal shipping plus an extra day or 2. I leave for a trip in 5 days... Get all the way through, they take my card info.. then get an in app message saying it takes 4-7 days JUST for your script to be written, then shipping on top of that lol So I call, speak with a very monotone woman who tells me “oh, it can be sent to your pharmacy to pick up and I’ve been seeing requests filled in 1-2 days this past week so I’d expect that long”. Ok, fine. Was not thrilled about having to pick it up but whatever, fine. So they told me to call back with the pharmacy I choose. Call back, speak to ANOTHER monotone woman who honestly seemed the opposite of concerned for my being irritated that they hide how long this process is until after you pay. Talking about how busy their providers are (I am a pediatric nurse practitioner at an incredibly busy children’s hospital.. so their busy schedule kind of made me chuckle). Then proceeds to tell me that I have to send the info for my pharmacy in an in app message, basically meaning I didn’t have to call back and explain this simple issue 3 times to her before she acknowledged it.. and also adds? They are experiencing high volumes of requests sooo... expect closer to 7 days just for my script to be written.
The app is misleading, they don’t give charges for their services clearly, they charge upwards of 40.00 for using the feature let a physician choose (which I had to choose as their app was glitching)... Worst part is how un phased their customer service is in helping their customers. And for a new company that is still in its infant stages? Not a great label to have, having horrid customer service. Seriously disappointed.
If you don’t have enough medical staff participating in your company? Don’t try and take on more orders than you can handle, causing people LENGTHY wait times just for a prescription. Probably should look into better customer service teams while your at it. Left the experience after two phone calls feeling like nothing was accomplished and not one apology for their hidden time frames.
Love love love!!! 5/5
I was so skeptical about this app- it seemed way too good to be true. That coupled with the negative reviews made me nervous. Download this app and try it for yourself, you will NOT be disappointed! I don’t have insurance so doctor’s visits to get birth control is quite pricey. The process is fairly easy, albeit a bit long, but if you stay on top of it it’s not too bad. I got a three month supply of a generic substitution of the birth control I’m currently on for $45. I LOVE NURX!!!
8/10 would use again 4/5
I haven’t used this app for very long, but I already like it! The team is very responsive to questions and is very eager to help! I am excited to have my birth control mailed directly to my house so I don’t have to worry about picking it up at my local pharmacy. The only negative thing I have to say so far is that the processing time is extremely long. If you send them messages in that time expect a response the next day or later in the day. They want you to be comfortable!
Not as Promised 2/5

I like the concept but the app doesn’t work.. it took me 10+ tries to upload my insurance card... and here I am almost a week later (6 days as of today) and still haven’t heard anything except for “we’ll be in touch soon.” There are other places with faster service.
Don’t use the App!! Just use the website! 5/5
I’m giving this app 5 stars because Nurx and the service provided is worth using! But this is the most glitchy app I’ve used in a while.
Use. 👏🏼 the. 👏🏼 website! 👏🏼
Sooo much easier! Issues I had with the app included error issues when trying to check messages from Nurx about my order and checking order status; as well as, photos not loading properly in the app. Once I worked thru the glitches, my order was processed very quickly and arrived much faster then I imagined. I also liked that they went the extra step to break down information on the ordered prescription, once confirmed. Made it very simple and easy to understand.
Worked for me 5/5
Just had to take some pictures of your identification prescription card... then it was delivered. Easy
Not worth it. 1/5
I used NURX for the convenience of it - exactly what they advertise for, but I soon found out that convenience comes with a PRICE TAG even if you can set up free delivery on your online portal on your insurance page. In fact, my insurance company (Aetna) actively encourages it, BUT i tried Nurx for the hell of it - just for the novelty & the pinkness of it all because BIRTH CONTROL IS 100% COVERED by my insurance, so it should have been free with Nurx.
Now when I was about to get my BC, I was told there will be an upcharge. Why? Because the pharmacy doesn’t accept my insurance? WTH? Then why would I pay to get my BCP when it’s otherwise free at the pharmacies of my choosing? DUANE READE accepts my insurance. CVS accepts my insurance. What pharmacies are they even partnering up with?
On their website, it says if I choose to pick up my prescription at a non-Nurx pharmacy, there is a “small fee”.
Now Nurx, are you making money off of what should be a free prescription (or 100% covered) meant to safeguard women from unwanted pregnancies (and a myriad of other health concerns)?
Not worth it 1/5
This is not what I thought it was going to be ..... no one responds to messages and it has been taking forever to process I’m going to cancel my order.
Love it!!! 5/5
I love this app so much, it’s amazing. The app itself isn’t the best, I preferred the website when I was signing up and getting started and I just use the app for questions or to check on my orders. I loved being able to pick my own brand of birth control, the doctors always reply quickly to my questions, my orders always come on time about a week before I need them. I haven’t had any problems at all, I would highly suggest to anyone looking to get birth control without the hassle of going to the gyno every time you just need a refill. I have insurance so mine is completely free. I love love love this app.
This app is great. Took me about 20 minutes to fill out everything, and my prescription came today after only about a week. Design of the app is cute and it’s easy to use. Definitely going to be using this from now on
They didn’t wanted me to continue the bc that my doctor prescribes neither the one I took before, what’s the point of the app if you can’t get what you need? They want you to buy what they have left over and give them more profit.
Easiest way to get birth control 5/5
I love Nurx. All I had to do was pick which birth control I wanted. A nurse then messaged me a couple days later asking about my choice. She also gave me helpful information about the pill I chose. Apparently it has a very high blood clot risk. She gave me better, cheaper options. Once I agreed, I got a message from a doctor telling me all the risks and how to use it. Shipping was 2-3 days. Insurance paid for all 3 packs. I will continue to use Nurx as long as I want to be on birth control.
Only did. Is because I needed my pills ASAP because my prescription ended. well, now I guess I’ll have to be off of birth control for a month because this app just took absolutely forever for anything to happen. Just ridiculous. I wish the app would let you know what’s going on with your order so you aren’t waiting forever and wondering what is happening. I made an appointment with a doctor for the end of the month so it is pointless for me to use this now because of how long it’s taking.
Take note 5/5

Nurx is an excellent service, it has been life changing for thousands of women. Extremely knowledgeable medical providers, customer care analysts who truly care, many insurances accepted, cash prices excellent, no fee for consultation, free shipping, and the only cost is for the medication. And if you have insurance, more often than not, a $0 co-pay due.
Easy birth control 5/5
Not even kidding, this app is fantastic. NOT a joke or a fake! I’ve been on the same BC for almost 10 years and going to the clinic to get it renewed started to become a huge hassle with my work schedule. Then their policies changed and I have to order through the state and it was every 3 months I had to take off to go in and sit in a chair to tell the Dr., yes I still want and use my BC no it isn’t causing me issues. I ALMOST stopped taking BC out of just the ridiculous inconvenience of it! Found this app through Instagram and it has been a life saver! My insurance covered the off-brand of my prescription and for $12 they sent the prescription right to my pharmacy and in 2 days from downloading the app I had a year supply of BC. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!!
Was great until they overdrafted my account 2/5
After switching jobs I have no insurance at the moment and can’t afford to pay out of pocket. I asked them to cancel my next shipment until further notice and was told no problem, until I just got a notification a few mins ago from my bank saying they’d charged me $90 and this overdrafted my account. Thanks guys, I totally didn’t need to buy groceries or anything.
Love it! 5/5
Ok I seriously love this app and concept. I am extremely busy and usually don’t have time to get to the doctors. I had done my research and been on birth control before so I knew which one I wanted and getting it was super easy. All I had to do was fill out the info and take a pic of my insurance card! I had it shipped to me at no cost and my insurance covered it fully. Thanks Nurx!
Won’t take payment 1/5
I signed up for the service but when i get to the payment screen it says inaccurate payment method. Please fix!
