Last Update Made Magazine Unusable 1/5
The so-called “improved swiping” makes it impossible to swipe at all. I can’t get past the cover on the two most recent issues. Have cancelled subscription.
Can’t swipe to turn the page, completely ineffective. Email to customer “service” ignored. Guess I’ll turn to twitter to voice complaint.

The magazine app used to be just intermittently problematic. I frequently had to delete the app and re-install to get issues to load. I put up with it because the content was great. Since the most recent update, the format of the magazine is ridiculous. You can't scroll through it anymore and there is a ludicrous vertical list of topics to which you must return to read the content. What were you thinking, app developers?!?!?!

Would love to give a comprehensive review of this latest upgrade but am unable to do so. WHY? Every time I access my O library, a popup appears, instructing me to upgrade to the latest version. I click and am redirected to app store, where I click the upgrade button. Easy right? NOPE. I'm taken back to my library and the original upgrade popup. Repeated attempts have produced the same result. I can't even access past issues of my subscription. This app has been plagued with problems since its inception and I've wasted too much of my time trying to resolve problems. Going back to print version (sorry trees) or better yet, I'm going to discontinue my subscription!!

It wasn't "broke" so why did you have to "fix" it? I now have to download years of issues in my library plus that busy rotating banner style is way too busy and distracting, as is the layout overall. The previous version was clear, clean and accessible. This one is just a frustrating mess that seems, more than anything else, designed to generate income. You just completely reversed my former esteem. Not a good look Oprah, on so many levels. Also, I'm amending this with a follow up to say NONE of my issues, including the most current one, are downloading at ALL, so my frustration level just got way more amped up. Terrible! I'd assign zero stars if that option existed. Update again: it's been days and I still can't download, the alert saying the July issue was in was a lie, and it still looks absolutely awful. I don't know whose bright idea this was, but holy cow, I expected WAY better from a "brand" with such a great history. My subscription comes due very soon and there is no way I will renew with the current state of the digital format. I have been a customer for years, but when you show such blatant disregard for that loyalty, I have no interest in adding to your coffers. What an insult this update is! UPDATE ON JULY 4TH: There are no words to capture how much I loathe and despise this update. I finally (after many aborted attempts) was able to download all my YEARS of issues, and now each one requires download again. Never EVER will I sink another cent into this piece of garbage or any other Oprah product. Shame on you, Oprah!

I have been a long time subscriber to O magazine and simply adore it. A few years ago I switched over to the digital version which has been great up until recently.
This new app does not recognize me as a subscriber so all of my current and past magazines are completely gone. To make matters worse the app is not user-friendly and I have been unable to get a hold of anyone in customer service to get this resolved.
I'm very frustrated and hoping for a fixed soon…

The latest version is dreadful. If you click on an ad you can't get back to the magazine without closing the app entirely. Makes trying to read the issue a frustrating chore, not a pleasure.

Since updating the app this month, I can only go about three pages into the latest issue before it stops loading. Now I can't access the subscription that I'm paying for. Customer service is nonexistent.

Ditto to all the above and more!!! All my issues are gone! My subscription is up to date and yet I can't read any of them!!! I, too, will NOT renew unless this update is fixed and my issues are restored! OH and BTW...your FAQ and instructions are NO help at all!

Worst update ever. Doesn't work, says I'm logged in but also says account doesn't exist. If I want to read an issue claims I have to pay for it. Subscription is good until MAR 21. Can't get customer service to respond to emails. No excuses for this mess. I can't believe Oprah would be happy over this lack of customer service .UPDATE: now at negative stars. Customer service won't respond, day 5 no magazines. This is the worst app in the universe . Inexcusable

There was no need to update. Clearly you changed platforms and this one is terrible. They also have terrible customer service. If I could give a negative star I would. If my subscription is not rectified soon I'm cancelling my subscription.

Soon after the automatic update the app was not workkng... after sometime it started workng automatically.
Half my issues missing 1/5
Half of my issues are missing after the update. They have no record of my previous account so I had to make a new one.
All of my favorites are gone. I will most likely not continue my subscription once it is over. At least with paper magazines I will not lose my favorites when an update I didn't ask for deletes everything.

The old app worked fine. Now it acts like I never had a subscription and won't restore my issues. Why can you never get this right? Fix it now.

Hi,....I really though it was just another magazine but once I started reading the articles I was Impressed.....!!! And I read the articles each month....I was in a really bad a 2% chance of living,....I died 3 times at North Dallas, TX on Gaston Ave....An Amazing hospital.....in Aug 1998......Now they do 1 a week in N. Dallas...Missouri is 12 years behind Dallas.....Goodnight ~Columbia, Mo

I love O Magazine and have been a subscriber for years. The iPad app used to be excellent, but a couple months ago they changed it drastically, and now it's so bad as to be almost unusable. You can't flip past the front cover; you have to pull up the page navigation at the bottom and manually drag yourself to a different page. The table of contents now has neither page numbers *nor* clickable links, so it's pretty much useless. To get to an article you want, you just have to guess how far into the magazine it might be and use the page navigation to flip through till you stumble upon it. Then, reading it is a major pain because they switched to this weird vertical format where each section -- not just one article, but a cluster of them -- scrolls down, not across. BUT, there's this bug where if you accidentally move your finger (or, it seems, just look at it funny), it will automatically skip back up to the very top again. So you're trying to read an article that's like 12 pages down, and keep being shot up to the top again, then having to scroll down and down till you find it again, then the process repeats a minute later.
This is so bad I've asked to switch my subscription to Zinio, and if they won't do it, I will pay for a new non-iTunes format subscription myself.

After YEARS of auto renewal to the online edition Hearst sent me a print copy, then attempted to bill me and "expired" my online subscription. They now want me to buy individual copies. I've written to them several times. I get no where. So now it appears there's no more subscriptions? Anyone else get ripped off like this? Insulting.
So here's my revised warning :
1. There's no landscape mode. Ever.
2. Can't copy/paste or share anything (not even a recipe). Ever.
3. Hearst magazines are incognito if they make an error with your issues. Can't reach them. Ever.

Loved this way to read magazines, but it hasn't recognized my last two 3-month subscriptions. Followed all the recommended instructions to resolve multiple times, including uninstalling and reinstalling
the app, with no luck. Took three attempts to get a response from Hearst. I expect much better from the Oprah and Apple brands.

Don't waste your time on this awful app. Consistently locks you out, delays on page turns for ads, it's a nightmare. No customer service response. Read the magazine in line at grocery store and save the aggravation. Goodbye Oprah

Purchased the digital magazine and was quite excited about it on yesterday. Trying to open the app wasn't customer friendly. The app finally opened on the iPhone. A day later the app finished downloading and opened on the iPad. On the iPad, the app doesn't work. On the iPhone the app is ok. But I want to read the magazine on the iPad! Ughhhh!

I've been a subscriber to Oprah magazine for the past year and just renew the subscription on March 31st, but the app just don't work anymore. ALL of my previous purchased magazines are gone including the latest purchased on March 31st, they're all can't be found. Seems that the app just freeze, i can't click the setting nor the store, there's nothing in it except the Oprah magazine logo. I've tried to report a problem and wrote about this, and there's also an option for a refund for the latest purchased, i've chose that option and it said that my purchased has been cancelled and refunded, but i can see that my store credit is still in the same amount and has not been refunded. I tried to click the App support here but it said 'access denied' because i don't have permission to it. I don't understand why. So please advise about this problem, why ALL OF MY PREVIOUS PURCHASED ARE GONE ??? And how can i get them back ?

This app can attract a lot of subscribers with a few features tweaks the IPhone 6 Plus and 6S Plus have bigger screens so they should be optimized for an IPad like experiencing full screen pages interactivity and cover videos Harpo team also should think of an alternative to apple newsstand since it is gone now and honestly I stopped subscribing when that happened it took away the whole experience of a magazine and made it feel like a app once again I don't like that I want a magazine not an app.

I love O mag, but the latest update simply does not work. It won't open in the latest IOS. Period. I have tried to delete and reinstall but it won't allow me to do that either. Fix it please or money back?!!
Update, I was able to fix the issue by hard resetting my iPad. I think the download got interrupted by my unreliable wifi. Everything seems ok now. Sorry for false alarm.
