Offer App awesome! Unaccountably people=BS 1/5
First of all, I’d like to thank Offer Up and staff, the tech crew, their teams for this amazing idea. It’s great to offer items and make some sells, and a great way to let go of your items. I’m a truyou member with 5 verified accounts—Facebook, email, phone, etc. I’m also a 5 star rate. The downfall is that there are so many unaccountable people these days that you communicate, you message, and you make an appointment to meet and you agree that you’ll be there, they have so many excuses and lack of of respect to others who are serious and willing to meet you to only no show you and not message you. There are so many trolls and so many unreliable credit out there that you ended up wasting time and energy for these fake account members. Don’t get me wrong I like offer up, but offer up needs to do a better job at when members are reported because they fail to show up and we notify you about this and we report them, you’re only response is via email that to direct me to the help and questions column. Total fail and only ad advertisement shows up in your messaging. This is great and smart idea, but your lack of show of support, how untrue of the other member—you can’t even tell if the member is even real or just a fake, your is no less different then them.

It is a extremely frustrating that I can’t use the app for its sole purpose, to buy things! Whenever I try to checkout I receive the error “payment failed.” I have tried multiple cards so I know that the error is not on my end. I have contacted customer support four times in the last week and have had no response.

Ummm so first things where going smooth and I didn’t sell anything yet cuz I had the app for a bout five minutes. I put these emoji pillows up for sale for five dollars and this guy asked for them you know thinking he probably has kids or grandkids or he just wants emoji pillows. Nope. We had a deal that he would be their one day and then never showed up. I texted him and asked if he was coming and he said tomorrow. I said ok whatever. Then he asked if he could ask questions. Me thinking it was about the pillow so I said yes. The questions where very inappropriate and sexual. I obviously got freaked out. So then I told him Never mind I’m not selling the pillow. Then he proceeded to tell me that if I answered those questions he would have paid me 2x the amount I asked for. I mean that’s not the apps fault but I wish the people on the app weren’t trynna traffic people and just sell things they don’t use and not people.

Got this app and was almost instantly contacted by scam artists and creepy old men trying to buy ME (i’m 18.) Not very safe especially for young people.
Needs a member system in place deters creepy people from attempting inappropriate stuff, and so that individuals can assess the legitimacy and safety of people they deal with as well as possible risk associated with a particular transaction.
But offer up is not as good as five mile to many wrong placed post can’t stay in my area with out seeing people on other end of America and to many scammers trying to became much like Amazon....five mile still better
Good selling local, waste of time when shipping comes about. 2/5
Very good selling local stuffs, I have made thousands of dollars out of this app but I gave up to selling and shipping items through here. I sold a watch a couple of days ago. Even after shipping the item and marking it as “shipped” Offerup sent a notification saying that they are extending my period of shipping 2 more days or the sell will be cancel (even though I sent it already). Now this is a common pattern, you guys find the way to leave me a sour flavor of disappointing, once again. This has happened in the past, and is still happening over and over and over again. My solution? Not selling anything else out of my zip code, only local can buy from me, and of course you will not make a dime out of it. I do not usually complaint but this is just painful and a waist of time. Can you please help me out with this issue for the last time? Thank you!

Well this is just dumb and inefficient user interface on the mobile app. When your search results come up you have to click on each listing to view the price and location of the item! It would make more sense if it was visible on your search results. Developers need to update the app

I’m done using this site. Their support team are a bunch of robots. You can explain your issue all you want in great detail. You get a copy and paste reply with no help at all. Don’t even bothering replying to that message cause you will get ignored. A malfunction in their app cost me money and I just get swept under the rug.

The developer is abusing the messages function and does not give you the option to turn off reminders to spend you money on shopping. I want useful reminders that are only from messages from sellers/buyers. Not worthless annoying reminders.

It’s used to be a great app to look up cars but now it have a spam issue that seems to be getting worse and worse. I can’t look nothing up with out sculling through hundreds of fake posts. The developers really need to add a reCAPTCHA.

I would enjoy it a lot if I was able to use it. My account keeps getting banned and I’ve never been sure why. So right now I just look at the stuff but I can’t sell or buy. It would be nice if someone reached out letting you what happen and why and they gave you the opportunity to plead you case. Also, it would be nice is your support team had put an urgency on responding to customers. Sometimes I wait almost two weeks for a response when I message them about something. When I get a response back it such a canned email as if they could care less that you messaged them. I’ve been using other apps to buy and sell my stuff and I’ve been recommending them to my friends and family.
Please fix my account ASAP so that I can use it.

I use OfferUp and 3 other marketplaces to sell items. OfferUp probably gets me the most sales.
However, the $1.99 selling fee is really annoying. Selling something for $5 and getting a 40% selling fee is pretty absurd. Just in 2019 they’ve gone from 7.9% fee to 9.9% fee to a fixed $1.99. What’s next? A fixed 90% selling fee?
I’ve loved OfferUp and have told a lot of people about it, but they’re honestly about to lose me.
To add another annoying change in 2019, I don’t like how the shipping labels went from USPS to UPS. It’s a big inconvenience not being able to use Priority Mail boxes and having a longer drive to ship it.

One of ridiculous app that I have never seen before. So many junk sellers and scammers as well. They will ghost you for no reason. I was new and did nothing but ghosted. Avoid this app. There are 5miles and Letgo app better then this 10 times and more.. I will I can give them 0.5 star.

I really wish that I was able to not give any stars. My experience with OfferUp has been very disheartening to say the least. I have been trying to get paid for an item that I should. After sending emails and also a direct message on Twitter I still have yet to receive a response on receive my payment. I was selling things to help me save money to move. I don’t recommend using this app to sell things out of town only local. Once I finally do receive my payment I will be deleting my account this has been one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had trying to sell something.

This app used to be amazing. Now, there are way too many ads and annoying notifications. The fee to ship items is ridiculous. I can’t even sell a $5 item without paying $2 in fees. Really? 40% in fees?! That’s absurd and I refuse. I’d rather sell on the side through PayPal or hold onto the item.

This is a good app, and it serves its purpose well to be sure. I’ve bought one item and made my first sale recently, and both of those things went as smooth as could be. However, I have deleted the app from my phone, because I’m not looking to buy or sell right now, but that doesn’t stop the notifications from coming in.
I turned off all the push notifications I could from within the app, because I kept getting alerts telling me about items ‘chosen for me,’ which is a feature I am wholly uninterested in. But I did not disable notifications in my phone settings because I need to know if someone messages me when I do have items listed.
But today, I got a notification with the same tone as the message tone, but from Offer Up. It said ‘buyers are looking, post something!’ And took me to the new listing creation page.
This logic is wild to me. Is it assumed that everyone with the app has something to sell all the time? If I want to list something, I’ll come to you Offer Up, you don’t need to come to me.
If there were options within the app to disable any kind of notification that came from it, it would be five stars easy.

This app used to have a use but now 99% of the responses I get for items I want to sell are someone wanting to buy the item for some family member in another state and want to pay with pay pal.
Sellers that stupid to fall for this crap.
I’ll be erasing this app.

I have had great success with this app. I even took a chance and shipped my product without getting paid. OfferUp told me that the buyer needed time to make sure that the product was working correctly. This is all fine and good, but I could see how the shady people could just say it was broken and get it free. But for now it seems to be much classier and less shady that Craigslist. But you know how people be [email protected]

I hate the fact that it used to be only people selling to people now you have stores and company’s on here gets annoying if a person wanted a store we would go there or go to online shopping not what this app was before

Be careful. If someone ask to send payment via paypal, cashapp, Venmo, That’s most likely a scam. Best practice is to use offerup escrow payment method for your safety. Don’t go around offerup and send payment directly just because the item you’re buying is cheap and attractive.

I logged onto this sit set an account and began what looked like it was going to a favorite daily shopping app for me. Totally new to the site began purchasing about 1000 in products extremely excited to see them arrive. Only to find they canceled my account within a couple hours of my first test drive as a buyer. This resulted in me having no possible idea as to the legitimacy of my orders. I tried everything to access information about my orders tried to contact customer support with no answer or support out of concern of spending near 1000 dollars and absolutely no effort from any one at offer up to assist a new client who is a virgin by every facet in using this app. I used another email out of fear for my orders and charges to my card that I had absolutely no access or information on and zero customer support paying any interest. As a buyer I felt shafted and need desperately to contact someone and was left with no other option but to create another account in hopes customer service might work. Mind you I ended spending upward of 2 days desperately trying to find someone to help me understand why nothing was working all while having countless orders and charges on my cards with no information except that my account was drained of money for a site where I thought would care about a customers experience. Sad to say I now week later am still sourly wrong. No one after a un reasonable waist of days and days trying to get a working account functioning all on my own. Turns out they canceled my second account which I was forced to create to simply try and get a hold through the contact us of someone who could help a new as could possible exist client who is a significant shopper online and a large seller on many other platforms for over Ten years. Offer up has failed to even offer a single effort to provide their new user some meaningful assistance and aid to ensure I might have a sliver of a chance at a pleasant experience. This was wishful thinking they didn’t care I have still no responses to countless efforts to use contact us section for day after day asking and thanking them in advance that I might please get some help. Feeling scammed robbed cheated and sever discrimination like nothing I have witnessed or could possibly imagine. Offer up earn they 2019 new customer disregard and absolute failure in providing any service or mindful concern for customers regardless how much they charge and I’m left to believe I have been stolen from my products that I ordered haven’t arrived one or two came and countless others are MIA. I hate having to call the credit card company and charge back every single transaction but no one will contact me even after sending 4 to 5 requests a day. I’m writing this review with the utmost concern. I don’t write negative reviews this is my first I usually just stop business with any organization who fails to treat their customers with respect and man maybe the measly response to customer inquiries especially for a new customer who is a purchasing client and a individual who with some sign of life from the company charging my cards. I had really looked forward to becoming a seller and moving products. This is a sad situation as I can only imagine I’m not the only one who was completely neglected and left near a thousand dollars short. I leave this absolute accurate review and my frustration with all who may I pray get treated with some level of respect and mindfulness. I at this point have signed in every day for over a week praying that I might find some human who works with this company who cares more about their customers who make them successful and spends the money that pays their checks will or would have at some point reached out to help me find ease from this absolute nightmare.
Communication is always the best option and goes a very long way.
I am sad to say I have yet to see someone with this company care about their client. I won’t be holding my breath.
I pray you all have a better experience then I and for the sake of all the customers that are being lost in this miss management and being a business man my self suppling products all over the world. I will check my email and if by chance there was errors I don’t understand on the other end I welcome contact from OfferUp and will happily aid in the process of assisting the executives managers etc in removing these issues from the process so no future client is lost and heaven forbid ever experience what I have had to so exhaustively had to endure and bare.
Offer up feel free to contact me if you actually do care and would like to speak on the matter and or would like an expert in client retention and process efficiency and control.
