Easy to use 5/5
By J Beckerson
So easy to use!
Always Late 2/5
By Constantly logging
Not keeping track with the station. Needs improvements
Excellent app 4/5
Very helpful schedule info. Not to nitpick but as they keep on adding more features makes it less friendly
Nearly Useless 2/5
By Dan Ogden
Delays are only posted AFTER the scheduled time has passed.
Great, if all you care about is having the schedule (such as it is) on your phone.
Latest versions lack past (helpful) features 2/5
By JLo NYC
When I first downloaded this app in June 2017, it provided info on delayed trains (how many minutes late), and tapping on the schedule for a specific train opened a screen showing what stops that train would make. What happened to these features and this helpful info? I just got on a train that was 7 minutes late, but when I looked looked at the app after 5 minute delay, it appeared that the train was already on its way to the next stop. This app has become just the same as the printed timetables, nothing more.
Accurate not tested but very informative. Can decide whether to buy tix
Nice App 4/5
Nice app for getting metro north schedules. Would like it to tell you if train is peak or off peak. Sometimes it freezes.
Tons of scrolling and now banner ads everywhere 1/5
By Raven, Heather + Scatter
No longer jumps to current time so have to scroll through screens of times while walking to train.
And today, banner ads everywhere - so will accidentally click and require more manual correction.
Good but needs improvement 2/5
By Eric From NYC
The jumping around on metro north timeline view because of ads loading is awful. Accurate times and data but usability needs work. Everyone wants this app to be great.
Best Metro North App 5/5
Using it for years and it’s the best one so far.
It’s a Great App! 5/5
Easy to use. Tells you how long you have to make your train. Reverses direction with a tap!
Works, but UI/UX is unpolished and crude 3/5
I used to use OnTime exclusively, but the interface was too rough and unpolished, so I abandoned it. And I’m sorry to see that upon my return, it’s gotten worse.
I’ll just pick on one of the many issues: The “ride” and “discover” buttons are wholly superfluous, and need to be relegated to ancillary screens/functionality. Showing them on every single train is a clear indication that the development team doesn’t understand basic user interface and user experience design principles. And those buttons might be useful for an occasional rider, but for the commuting regular, they’re annoying, they take up valuable space, and bring zero value. At least give me a pref to turn them off… forever.
And because of those unnecessary buttons, you’re forced to have the “stops” button in an odd place. Dumb.
I want to like this app, but I can’t; it’s a hot UI/UX mess, and needs a ground up redesign.
Quick and easy 5/5
Quickest way to check train schedules. Can know closest station if allowed.
Deleted It 1/5
It repeatedly froze on opening after I updated it, so I deleted it.
Good, not good. Good, not good. 2/5
Since last update no longer loading with current time-relevant data. Development QA leaves a lot to be desired.
Insufficient notice of service changes 1/5
App is only good if service is normal (same as paper schedule) - when there is bad weather or service changes the app doesn’t reflect, you’re just surprised at the station.
The best 5/5
All the info is so easy to read. Gives first stop info. Alerts are easy to view. Of all the schedules for MTA this is the best one.
Train Delayed! 3/5
Before the upgrade the app will show us exact location/time of the train and if it was delayed. Now it doesn't please fix it!!!
No updates for weather 1/5
Twice recently they operated on a weekend schedule due to weather, but the app showed a normal schedule
Very helpful 4/5
Just got this app, sure beats going to the Metro North website
No good anymore 1/5
This used to be a decent app. Now it’s a POS. Intrusive ads prevent you from focusing on train times. Dumping it for good.
Good app, 4/5
Solution, but need more information
Rarely right unless the train is On Time! 1/5
These other reviewer must be related to the guy that made the app. Never gets the time the train is actually arriving correct, unless the trains on time.
Great app 5/5
Accurate, helpful info and easy to use.
Much more reliable than the official one 5/5
I glad that it still functional without networking.
I find the OnTime website dependable.
Wish I could undo update 2/5
Sorry that I installed this update - incredibly annoying/intrusive banner ads are now interspersed among the train times
What happened? 1/5
The new version looks nothing like the preview and honestly stinks. All it shows is the begin and end stations. The old version allowed you to view all station stops. I don’t care about rides or discover or any of that other stuff...I have this app for the train schedule!!
Never accurate! 1/5
The app will never let you know in advance if the train is late or not. I find out once I get to the station and even then sometimes the app still doesn’t alert you ...
Premium ads still show 5/5
A good app, but with intrusive ads. I bought the premium version, set it for no ads. Ads still there. Somebody needs to work on this. I will cancel my premium subscription if it continues to display ads.
Important update: First, the developer was extremely helpful in resolving my issues. It may be necessary — as it was for me — to remove the app completely and then reload it together with the premium purchase. This removes all ads.
After the ads are off, this is a terrific app: have used it for years with no problem. And the latest version is excellent.
Sorry I did the update 1/5
This app used to be excellent. Now it is a cluttered mess. Sorry I did the update. Please get rid of the useless banner smack dab in the middle of the screen. So frustrating to deal with. I HATE this new version!
Wish I hadn’t updated to this version 1/5
Cluttered and advertising intensive (ie, very annoying) even after paying the ANNUAL fee for the upgrade. Don’t know who would actually want to read any these ads since the info is not new and anyone who is knowledgeable would have a concern about related viruses or scams.
GCT track info no longer available. And real time reporting of delays are delayed!
Cluttered screen 2/5
The latest version has a very cluttered screen. It only shows 2 trains. The ads take up a quarter of the screen! And the obnoxious ride/discover/go that I would never use on a regular basis are distracting and often show on a train I am not even taking. They should be shown when you click on the train you will take. There is too much on the screen that is no longer useful and not enough information that is. I used to love this app, but I am going back to the MTA’s app.
Really helpful 5/5

Great app for nyc train commuters
By kika pichardo
Me gusta on time ❤️
please get rid of new “features” 1/5
this app used to be great. it is now unusable. your new “features” are worse than useless. the Lyft ads are absolutely egregious. the entire design is completely awful. i will uninstall if you dont make it possible to hide the new “features”.
Upgrade is a downgrade. 2/5
I used to love this app and use it when commuting. The new upgrade, however, has too much clutter on the line for each train. Plus, the track numbers are slow to appear and disappear often - one of the primary reasons I used to use this app.
Huge disappointment 1/5
New version is unstable. It shows info on my iPhone screen for a sec and then distorts to the point it is totally unusable. It is a shame, I have to look for another app to use. Very disappointed
Used to be so much better 1/5
The old version was Easy, intuitive, convenient. This new version of app is busy, non-intuitive and less convenient. The opening screen actually reduces the number of trains visible in favor of playing some games and you need a more complicated drill down to get intermediate stops. I guess they forgot he primary purpose of the app.
Fantastic updates 5/5
Kudos to the developers, you really know what’s inside the mind of an impatient commuter like me. These new features are impressively clear and precisely tailored to my wants and needs. This is top concierge level efficiency. You are now front and center on my phone. Thank you!
Go backwards 1/5
I have been using this app for 5 years and it’s always been simple and great. Everything doesn’t need to be a social media platform. Especially if it means you break the use it had.
App fine, data completely useless 1/5
The app is fine. Unfortunately any real time data relating to location of trans and delays is of no value. A printed schedule is every bit as useful as this app.
New app plagued 1/5
Don't update. They fixed ads and made the app worse at the same time.
Latest version crashes constantly 1/5
Can’t use it at all now.
Incomplete for the NYCSubway planning 3/5
It is very accurate for the Metro North but in regards to the Subway it leaves all the 2/3 lines out from 116th up. Every time I tried sending an email it will crashes. Had to reset and go straight to contact support in order to send it. Otherwise it will be a good app.
Doesn't work 1/5
Not sure why, but the app just doesn't work for me after the latest update.
Used to like it but it stopped working for me. Now it’s useless. I cannot choose an agency so I cannot use any buttons.
No train schedules will show on iOS 11.1.1 1/5
By Evan Katz (Manhattan)
No train schedules will show on iOS 11.1.1
Used to work now it crashes 2/5
I loved this app. But now it crashes. Won't even open. What happened?! Now I'll have to get something else. :(
