Where’s my money?!?!?! 1/5
I bought two airplane tickets to and from Canada before Covid, then my flights were canceled and I was supposed to receive credits for them. It’s not listed on my account and it a very long wait time to talk to someone.

The search function is poor, the sort function almost nonexistent, and no easy way to get customer service even though there are kinks in the app. Having to cancel a flight that was supposed to be eligible for cancel has become a nightmare as I went through a crazy feedback loop in telling me I couldn’t even make this request until July 1 and then being told I can’t make this request in the app anyway and have to speak to an agent who doesn’t have a clue what they are doing. They offered to cancel my flight reservations without a refund - how generous! What poor service for someone who has booked dozens of flights and trips through app in the past few years. I’ll be closing my account and cancelling my orbitz reward card.

I will never use this company, or any of its associated companies like Expedia, again. When LATAM airlines filed for Chapter 11, and cancelled my flights to/from Argentina, I received an email from LATAM saying I would receive a “Full Refund.” But, since I purchased through ORBITZ, I needed to get the refund from ORBITZ, despite my CC was charged by LATAM. When I asked ORBITZ for the refund, they said the would do that if LATAM authorize it (lie). When I sent them the email fro LATAM stating I was to receive a full refund, ORBITZ said “we’ll need to verify and get back to you.” When they did, they said “LATAM didn’t authorize the refund. But, if I applied for a Voucher (useable for next 12 months) I could request the refund in 12 months (lie).” Upon checking the internet, it seems there are hundreds, perhaps thousands, of people like me that ORBITZ is scamming.

Orbitz doesn’t care about it’s customers just as long as they get your money. I tried to use a credit I had due to Covid and they repeatedly said they would get me on a flight only to find out Orbitz didn’t follow through and multiple reservations got canceled. I ended up booking directly I have learned my lesson and to top it off they refused any responsibility.

Orbitz has cost me thousands of dollars in botched travel arrangements. I did get credit for flights cancelled during the COVID pandemic. Hope it isn’t a fiasco when it comes time to use the credit, which has to done through Orbitz. What I hate about the app is that my upcoming trips don’t show up. Don’t know why the website purchased trips aren’t automatically synced with my app account on my phone, even though I’m logged in.

It is very easy to talk to reserve flights/hotel online, but when it comes to make changes or cancel a reservation you can’t get anyone to talk to you!
I went to Norway just before the COVID-19 got real bad early March. Our return flight was scheduled on 3/25 when the US was starting to close inbound travel. This being said there was lots of cancellations. I checked our flights and saw they were cancelled. I tried for 5-6 days to get a hold of orbitz. They just happened to have technical difficulties. I couldn’t get through so I called the airlines to fix this but they couldn’t rebook us because we went through orbitz. I purchased travel insurance and contacted them. These people did all of the work for us and I highly recommend getting this if you leave the country through orbitz because they left us high n dry. I only saved $200 going through orbitz but due to the rescheduling flights we paid more than that with baggage fees. If we booked through the airlines it would have been a lot less stressful and would have been cheaper in the long run. Fact is Orbitz is being deleted from this phone. Never again. It would be rated 0 stars if possible. Trust me they don’t care

I am beyond livid I’ve been a customer for 8 years and this is what I get. I will never book with orbitz again. They cancelled my flight and sent me an email stating money would be refunded due to no other options, but low and behold there were a couple other options. They lied about calling me because the rep could not even tell me when and what day they called. Now I’ve been waiting 6 hours to talk to someone to get my ticket reinstated with the new flight option. All they want is your money cancelled my flight and told me I have to buy a new one at the new price a week before my trip. The difference 600$ are you kidding me. I will never do business with them again.

Nightmare call with customer service. Tried to book a flight and use the airline credit for a cancelled flight due to COVID (that I had originally booked through Orbitz). They left me on hold for over 40 minutes, then said everything was fine and just before finishing the booking they put me on hold again, when they returned they said that it was not possible. When I tried to probe how so, they kept repeating like a script, when I tried to speak to a supervisor, they refused to put me through, when I tried to get the name of the person I was speaking to, they put me on hold again and then they just came back and said that if I insisted in talking to a supervisor, they would hang up and right there, they did!! If you want to book with Orbitz, DO NOT! Contact airline directly. Much better!!!

Three times I have entered a hotel reservation been chose to pay it with a credit card on file and the transaction never completed. The little gear just kept circling and circling for 5,10, or 15 minutes and I was unable to reach any type of customer representative. I called the support phone numbers and was told to go online to resolve my issue.

They never emailed nor text me for a flight change ahead of time. They are not compensating me for all the cost of missing the flight - transportation, time, lodging due to the delay for one day. A long time Orbitz customer, but very disappointed.

The worst customer service I have ever dealt with. They canceled my flight TWO days prior to departure, I was passed around to four different customer service reps the phone call started at 7:45 am-11 am I was on hold for over 2 hours to only get hung up on. I’ve been a customer of Orbitz for years but I AM DONE with this booking app. Booking directly with the airlines after this disaster.

They claim you can cancel within 24 hours. But then they make it Impossible to do so!! I kept getting the runaround (and took pictures on my phone to prove it). Had to eventually go over to the airline to cancel after many, many attempts to cancel online with orbitz, and I had to make sure it was done within 24 hours. Now I apparently have a credit instead of a refund. Have been on the phone with Orbitz this whole day, been cut off twice, explained the situation three times, on hold for HOURS, and still nothing is solved. Was just told to call back on Monday between 9 and 5. I work from 7a to 8p. Do NOT USE Orbitz if you have any possible chance of cancelling. I will never use them again. Ever.

This week I needed to book a flight and use the cost of a previous flight that I had canceled. I was dreading the call. To my surprise- the whole rebooking was done in 10 minutes! I was on hold for only 1 minute, then a most courteous and pleasant customer service rep answered. I had all the information handy: the previous reservation and the desired flight. She handled the whole thing in no time, and I am all set. I received the confirmation email while we were still on the phone! Couldn’t be more satisfied with the service I received. Thanks Orbitz!

I had to cancel my reservation and reschedule it and now I’m finding out refunds take a month to get back. That turn around is way too long.
Flight was canceled due to Covid-19. Awful communication on how to get reimbursed for flights. Still struggling for info. No call backs etc.
They advertise a 15% discount but it can only be used at fine establishments such as motel 6. Not at any hotel you would actually want to stay at. When you finally find the number to call them good luck getting anyone that knows anything or even cares to help. This app is trash. Not even worth the one star rating.

I have been trying to get my refund from orbitiz for over a month. My trip was cancelled by Eva airlines. I received a refund for my hotel but not the refund for my flight. Requested a letter from orbitiz it states refund was done on April 18.
Spoke to Affirm they have not gotten refund from orbitiz. I will think long and hard befor e I use orbitiz for my traveling needs.

So I called Orbitz customer care during this crazy pandemic and after pressing nine million buttons to talk to human, I finally spoke to someone in another foreign land. He was just as bad as speaking to a robot because he just kept repeating himself, now, I’ll give him 1% of credit by stating that we are in a pandemic but for me to wait on the phone for over an hour and 26 minutes to speak to his supervisor, to be just hung up on, is completely absurd. I will never, EVER, book another flight through Orbitz, Expedia, or any other company that is not directly linked to the air line specifically. Oh, don’t get the insurance, I’m still waiting on a refund and they keep asking for more and more documents delaying the inevitable. If I could rate Orbitz below a single star, I absolutely would. I hate this capitalism corporation, they hold you and your money hostage. If I didn’t like a shirt, and I wanted to return it, would I not get that money back? Why is this so difficult?

Got hotel to cancel and refund non refundable hotel but Orbitz has no way that customers can submit this info during pandemic. Instead it ask customers to wait months out in my case (3days before traveling) to speak to someone, then another 30 days plus for a refund.

I recently had my flights canceled too Paris and Greece, orbitz is running a skeleton crew to answer phones. I had no notification from orbitz and you cannot call until 72 hours before the flight. I understand these are difficult times; however there should be more innovative way on how they can handle their calls. Perhaps enter a call que and someone calls you back when it’s your turn. Can’t get a refund for my Covid 19 cancelled trip 1/5
I have been trying to contact Orbitz for 18 days now because my families trip to Peru was cancelled due to Covid-19 but I have to wait for hours (literally I was on hold for over 3 hours at one point) just for customer service to hang up on my after they answered. This happened several times and once when I finally got through to someone, they said they system wasn’t even working so they couldn’t process my refund. I gave them my phone number and asked them to call me back when it was working. I never received a call back. I spent almost $3000 in just flights and they won’t even talk to me or process a refund?!

I booked a trip that was cancelled due to COVID19. When I canceled my Madeline hotel reservation in Telluride, orbitz stated there as no refund due to hotel fee. The hotel states they never charged Orbitz and would not. Despite repeated calls you still have not refunded my money. The ticket number is 7521069127955.

This has gotten to be ridiculous. I’ve been charged so much for bs. still no refund for the hotel i was forced to cancel. had to pay $484 to move my flight from april to june, even though their bs website now says that i should have been able to change the flight without penalty. I can’t wait until 3 days before my flight to talk to an agent. I have major surgery scheduled and can’t wait til last minute. this is bs. Orbitz, I hope you understand that you will go out of business after this. No one is happy, and 99% of your customers will never return. nice job 👍
