App is useless 1/5
Takes forever to download and once it finally does.... IT WONT OPEN! I want a refund. This is ridiculous. I HAVNT BEEN ABLE TO VIEW THE BOOK ONCE.
Bookmarks not synced across devices 1/5
I use both my iPhone and iPad to read this book. Unfortunately bookmarks and notes are not synced. It makes difficult to pickup where I left or really use the notes. Also a feature allowing to see a summary of all my notes would be very helpful.
Horrible on iPhone 1/5
I have not tried on my iPad yet, but this app is horrible for iPhone. The concept is great, but you cannot read anything without straining your eyes! The print is so tiny, even when you zoom in! And you can’t zoom in very far or the words get blurry. Please fix!!! This would be an extremely helpful app over my next two years of schooling!
By Fix downloading
just when I thought the app couldn't get any clunkier and poorly interfaced they updated it and made it even worse. Good thing I won't be able to use my textbook at all in the next few weeks before the AP test!
This company should not be used by schools 2/5
I got this app because their desktop version was terrible. This app is too.
Read aloud option! 2/5
This app should offer a “read to me” option! I can’t seem to understand why it doesn’t if they are text books!!!!
By The Chefette
This app is trash!! I paid almost $200 for the access code and it expired halfway through the semester. I can only access the etext from my desktop at home and when I do the chapter numbers and page numbers don’t match up with the hard copy of the book so I am completely lost. I’ve been learning everything for my class from the Khan Academy videos and app. I wish that was my app instead of this one. THROW THE WHOLE APP AWAY!!
UPDATE: I finally got a response through twitter after my 4th attempt to contact support and they said they fixed my etext. I go to use it because finals are next week and it’s still expired. I paid $200 for 4 weeks of use!!? I asked for a partial refund. I want half of my money back. I only paid because I want the etext for my ipad, If I was gonna use the book I would have gotten a used hard copy for $50 or something.
Great App 5/5
This is such a great app. It has my book and study aids right at my fingertips. The download of the book is quite large but much better than having to lug around a real book.
“Subscription expired” 1/5
I bought MyMathLab from in order to use the textbook because that was the least expensive option for my broke college working two jobs self. My professor does nothing through MyMathLab I seriously only bought it for the textbook access. 5 weeks left to go into class I go on my iPad to access my book and it says subscription expired, but on my Mac I can see it perfectly. I uninstall the app and reinstall it. I restore. My iPad and set it up as new without a back up. Nothing. I contact Pearson support and I am told that I should access the text book via my “pc or laptop because the app is unreliable.” Are you serious. For real Pearson. For real. If you’re reading this I really hope you put in a fix for that because it’s frustrating. At least if I’m mad at Apple I can tell myself I have other tech companies to go to. If I can’t access your stuff, my only option is to submit because my school uses your textbook.
App doesn't work 1/5
I can't use the app, because "no internet connection" but it works with the Internet and every other app that requires it. So I can't read the book on my tablet.
Lacking basic functionality 2/5
The pages in my eBook are so low-resolution that I cannot even read small text upon zooming in. What use is an eText if I can't read it!
In addition, I can no longer type in the page number in order to navigate to that page, so instead I have to scroll until I reach the page.
The videos aren’t playing.
Good but 4/5
Page number needs to be more clear and search needs a bit more clarity in regards to what chapter and pages the results are based on.
Personalized notes 1/5
I’ve used this app because of my schedule and I make notes and highlight on it avidly! I get back on the app and all of my notes are wiped out!!!! Can I get someone to help me recover those notes?! This app is a joke if I cant. Don’t rely on this app to keep your personalized notes
Satisfactory but needs more 3/5
The Pearson App is easy to use and easy to read but that is where my accolades end. With the switch I lost my ability to highlight and take notes. Also, even though I have the ability to bookmark it does not save the last page I was on. App developers please give us highlight and note taking capabilities!
Can’t open book 3/5
I cant open my book, and it’s seriously messing me up.
Also I wish they did page numbers
One of the best apps in the App Store! 5/5
I simply love this easy to use app😍
4 classes and loving it 5/5
So far I have used this service for math 95, math 96, math 120 and biology 189. By far the best experience of any text I ever had.
I absolutely love this app, it makes finding passages easy and it’s way better than lugging the book around! I use it on my iPad and it is amazing.
Good, not great, just needs a few specific fixes 3/5
By Disgruntled Xavier
Overall, this app is a solid eReader. It makes your school text much more accessible and helps you to be able to study wherever and whenever you want to, however the interface is buggy and the synchronizing across multiple platforms is subpar.
The app doesn’t synchronize notes or highlights between multiple devices, such as switching back-and-forth between your phone and your iPad. That forces you to always use the same device to study and make notes on, or else be forced to go back and forth to compare what you already did on your other device.
Also, even reopening the app from the background on standby, the app constantly reloads itself and opens up a random page in the book you either were never on or haven’t been on in weeks. It’s very annoying to have to go back to the page you were on previously, rather than to have remember the page you were on and to load it automatically like a good eReader should.
Other than the bugs and the glitches, it’s a solid app and has some great potential.
We pay $100+ for an etextbook and the app does not even work as it should!!!! How is it possible that I downloaded the pdf of the book on the app on my iPad, and every time I leave the app (even for 1 second) it says “You have no books on your bookshelf”. I don’t understand!!!! The point of downloading a PDF is to have it basically permanent on your device to access wherever you are. Since I apparently have no books on my bookshelf, I have to log out and log back in for my PDF to be there again. So tedious. Fix this as soon as possible. If not, we should at least have the option of downloading the PDF straight to our devices and not have to go through that useless app.
Visually impaired 5/5
Great resource for my unique challenges. Almost flawless except lacking a high contrast theme( dark ).
FIX YOUR APP 1/5
Ever since you updated the app I can no longer access my chemistry book. It shows up on my bookshelf but I can not click on it to access it. Please fix this glitch or tell me how to work around this.
Does not show the text. 1/5
There are some chapters missing. I have the loose leaf but I’m trying to reduce the weight on my back, that is why I wanted the eText on my iPad. But it doesn’t work, the chapters doesn’t match the loose leaf or the eText on their website. The edition on my app is old. It’s pretty useless to me right now, unless they update it where I can access the book I paid for, in my iPad.
Miserable to navigate 2/5
The idea behind this app is great. I am a nursing school, and my books combine to over 3000 pages. I am so happy I don’t have to carry them around BUT this app doesn’t let you navigate very easily. It doesn’t allow you to directly go to a page. That is so unfortunate. Professors usually don’t say read chapter 1. They pick and choose sections and pages they want you to read, and this app doesn’t allow you to navigate through the book in that manner. I hope the fix this soon.
Worst Ereader ever 1/5
I had to use this for school and I’ve never encountered an ebook reader with such horrible navigation. The book I purchased has no chapters and 1200 pages. You can’t go to a specific page number and the bookmarks can’t be reordered. I’m extremely disappointed. I would have been better off pirating this overpriced material
Needs Improvement 1/5
My books never showed up. Waste of a download. Very disappointed.
Good e-reader 3/5
Works well. Allows highlighting, taking notes etc. Areas that could be improved: make it easier to get back to the last page you were reading (after scrolling back or ahead), and have an option to keep the brightness of the screen consistent. It’s frustrating to have it darken each time I pause to write a note.
Textbook resolution 4/5
For some reason, the resolution when in portrait mode is not very good, but when tilted into landscape mode, everything gets sharper. I’m not sure why this is, but it would be amazing to have a high resolution portrait mode. Thank you!
Good app 5/5
The app makes life easier.
Zero Navigation. A waste of time. 1/5
This eText is the biggest pain to use.
There is no easy way to read through the text other than Page by page. There is a lack of a navigate-able table of contents.
Using the search function is not a help. This is by far the worst ebook I have used, taking us back to the year 2001.
For the price we pay for eText, Pearson should feel embarrassed. Clearly they are more concerned with filling their pockets with money from students than delivering a quality product.
I’m surprised it works.
Highlight feature 5/5
I find highlighting text to be difficult. This feature needs improvements.
This app needs a way to hide textbooks you are not currently using. That or a separate “favorites” bookshelf in which only a users desired textbooks are visible.
As an instructor, I see at least 100 titles on my bookshelf. At the moment, I am regularly looking at 5 different books. There is no way to sort or filter these five books. I just have to scroll and hope I see the cover without passing the desired text.
Please fix this.
Not user friendly 2/5
There is no option, on the app, to show only active subscriptions and exclude the expired ones. The website does have this feature, but the app doesn’t. I don’t want to sift through all of my expired eTexts to find my active ones. The app should separate these to make it easier on the students. Support said there is a button on the app, but there isn’t. It’s only on the website. Please add this feature. It is also difficult to flip among the pages. Can’t we get a page scroll like Kindle and Nook?
Alright class turn to page 373 to start some problems 1/5
Oh wait too bad you can’t do that, can you. Best you can do is turn to page 300 and fingerblast your touch screen 73 times like a desperate Tinder user trying to score a date. Then you better pray to Jesus you don’t have to go back to the menu because guess what, you get to start that nonsense all over again.
TL:DR Please add two things: 1. A slider to go from page to page 2. An input box to select the page.
The reader is clunky and cluttered. For the price of the content they should be able to produce a much smoother reading experience.
Love the app till your last update 1/5
Since your last up date I can’t not access my online book on this app for my iPhone 6 pluse please fix
Deserves 0 stars 1/5
Purchased my books. Can't access them via app. Customer service rep was polite, but software issue was never resolved. I wished I didn't need this for school. Feel like this is a waste of money. So annoyed right now.
This is truly wonderful it took me 10 minutes to download each book and I could work on assignments from one book while another downloaded. This is so much simpler than having to drag around my laptop I can just pull my phone out and read away!! The only issue is that not all my books are there. So I’ll just look into that, but over all totally worth the time guys!
Should’ve never updated 1/5
By annoyed colleg student
I like the old version, at least that would let me read my books. Since the new update, I’ve been unable to open my books. It’s been two weeks since I update and the company still hasn’t sent out another update to fix this bug. This is why I can’t stand Pearson. :(
Frustrating to navigate through the book since my eText is missing a table of contents. Support just hung up on me after I explained my problem.
Book won’t download 1/5
The screen has been stuck on “syncing notes and bookmarks” for 30 minutes.
Horrible Update 1/5
By Shopping queen123456
The app was really great until this weird update. Now my book won’t load and I can’t highlight the info I want. Overall. a downgrade.
Doesn’t Work After the Update 1/5
I updated the app and now I can’t even open my text book. I’ve deleted and redone loaded my text book but I still can’t view my textbook. Please fix soon!
By J Coffee
Can’t open any books
Problem with rotate 5/5
Didn’t rotate screen on iPhone X, but on iPhone 7 Plus it’s work ok!
Please, correct it)!
Update is STILL unusable 1/5
The first update a little while ago refused to load my bookshelf. This new update seems to finish loading the bookshelf, but it won't show up unless I navigate to a different page and then back.
But then, I can't open my books! I tried deleting the book and re-downloading. It gets all the way to 99%, then says "syncing..." Then it says "no internet connection available" and the result is that the book is not downloaded. But I DO have an active internet connection.
Test your crap guys. This is A HORRIBLE way to start a new semester
VideoNote won’t play in the app 3/5
The eText works perfectly. However, I can’t play the video note on an iPad
