Pearson eText for Campus app reviews

  • I’d give it zero stars if I could 1/5

    By Rhemy1
This application is so horrible that I’m actually going to petition the other students from my school to drop it from every syllabus at the school. The main issue for me is that there is no way to use another application on the iPad in a split screen view. If Pearson is going to create an app for the iPad it should make use of all the features the iPad has to offer. Currently I purchase my books from any other vendor but Pearson.

Does not work. Click link for support... Safari cannot find page either.
  • No split screen? 2/5

    By anonymous.ginger
As a paperless student I am extremely disappointed that I cannot have Notability and my textbook open at the same time unless one becomes a tiny tab :(
  • Pearson is trash 1/5

    By Chainedyetadrift
They haven't updated anything or fixed the countless issues with text books not being uoloaded. Their apps are useless without this. It's been 7 years and no update. Don't waste your time. Colleges need to phase Pearson out. To them it's basically , "Thanks for your money! Good luck accessing the text tho 🤣🤣."
  • Loved this 5/5

    By Bp for college
I was struggling with the textbook I needed to read for class. The book was electronic and organized with lots of callouts and Figures to review plus the text. Lots of “noise” and distractions, less motivating to read. I downloaded this e-reader to see if it would help - awesome. The reader organizes all content into pages. Works great on the iPad pro
  • No longer works 1/5

    By hokiehawk
Used to work but now is stuck on a screen with a stupid video telling me how great the app that doesn’t work is🙄
  • Misleading app 1/5

    By Starstruckeyes
This app does nothing but launch a promotional video for Pearson. You can’t read your online book in it. There aren’t even any options to select. Don’t waste your time downloading it
  • It does work... 4/5

    By AriiiiiiiVvvV__
It works fine, but it’s a little bit tricky. Just follow the instructions as given.
  • Useless 1/5

    By ruptured
I only gave the app 1 star because I wasn’t sure I could review it with none. I haven’t been able to download the contents of the book I paid for for offline viewing in months so I can only use the book when I’m at home with a constant internet connection. Considering how expensive these things are you’d think there’d be better support for the app.
  • Nope 1/5

    By Anal 5hipment
This app hasn’t been updated in over a year, just let us read the textbooks online already jfc. I do not have a laptop and the only way I can do homework while not at home is to use my ipad.
  • Doesn’t Work at All 1/5

    By Krisakavamp
Requires you to access the eText through safari in order to get beyond the first screen- except, of course, the MyLab and Pearson links don’t even work in Safari. Otherwise, why would you even need the app?

The app’s not even working on my iPad. Useless.
  • DOES NOT WORK 1/5

    By ivalient
Impossible to study on the go without your computer! I have to work all week and I can't study during breaks because the app doesn't work. Pearson needs to really keep up to date with their apps since many students use their iPads to study.
  • Not student friendly 1/5

    By Siesiewhore
Pearson needs to stay up to date on their eTextbooks it's frustrating that I paid so much for a book that won't even let me use the perks that they advertise.
  • Avoid like the plague!!! 1/5

    By I-Am-Tighty
Do yourself a favor and avoid any institution that cooperates with this company. Not user friendly. Not Mac compatable, not iPad compatable... even on windows, it makes reading the textbook near impossible.
  • well, I would be studying right now, but.... 2/5

    By Apriljo4141234
While this app is not as clean in appearance as, say, Play Books, it does include features not found in Play. So for the overall app design, eh... 4 stars. Not bad. But here's the problem: the app KEEPS FREEZING. And crashing. Then I reboot. And it freezes and crashes all over again. This is highly frustrating when I am trying to study and literally cannot because I don't have access to my bloody textbook. I got the app about a month ago and the amounts it's been freezing have increased since then. And so, while I would much rather be learning about the cardiovascular system, I am here typing up a review. Please fix the problem or send me a paper textbook.
  • Ms. 4/5

This is a good app to be used in a classroom, but would be better if it had a read aloud option for travel and use outside the classroom.
  • No reason to need the app 1/5

You guys are greedy. Let us use the web app on ipad.

Texts that you can access just fine from desktop browsers will be flagged as lacking a subscription in this app.
  • Doesn't really work for IPad 1/5

    By Gabihbi
And is not even available to IPhone. Frustrated!
  • Highlighter is a joke... 2/5

    By BryantDouglass
It's convenient to have my books on my iPad, but seriously that's the best highlighting system you can come up with? I have to make numerous squares just to highlight multiple lines...
  • Ugh where to begin 1/5

    By C74D
This app is a mess! No way to delete or archive books. No way to arrange them on your bookshelf. Good luck finding your books!
  • FROZEN BOOK - No support? 1/5

    By E.j.Teegarden
I wouldn't have left this but I had no other choice. App froze my book. Do I really need to uninstall this, this, this whatever it is to release "my book?" With all the money WE HAVE TO SPEND on textbooks, you would think allocating a few dollars into apps making it possible for readers to read them would be a No brainier, but...
  • Good 5/5

    By Evan_Azbell
    Pretty good
  • It doesn't want to download the book 1/5

    By A7mouzi
    Need to fix the app
  • Book(s) Need to be Updated 2/5

    By ItsSardonyx
I'm currently enrolled in Jackson State University, and I'm using a lot of Pearson textbooks. I like this app, don't get me wrong, it works fine. It's just that the books need to be updated. The book I'm using is the Twelfth edition, and the copy on this app is just the First. If all the other books on the app is the same, this would make this app very outdated and very unusable. Other than that, this would be a pretty good app.
  • Why Is It So Difficult 1/5

    By Gmoney5399
Terrible app. It's difficult/different to sign in, to download a book, to highlight, to search, ...etc. why? I have multiple book readers and none of these issues are present in any of their apps. As this was not enough, it was even difficult to figure out which app to download and use for the Pearson book that I had purchase for my class.
  • Does not work 1/5

    By FloWreck
I had access to the books for my classes and then the app stopped working. I get an error stating call support. When dealing with the support they state that it works and that I am doing something wrong. Hard to believe when I had no problem a little over a week ago.
  • Doesn't open 1/5

    By Sukhman Gill
Every time I try to open a book it says error contact help.....I need to read for class!!!
  • Good, but not perfect yet 4/5

    By Jan Y.
This has the potential to be a great app because of the accessibility and portability of the etext on a smaller device. However, I get to the end of Chapter 8 in the college statistics text and the app dies. Updates available to correct this bug?
  • Take Your Book Anywhere 5/5

    By IPhoebeBB
This is a very useful app! For awhile I didn't have internet at home, but with this app I was able to download the entire book and view it offline. It was also very convenient to carry my iPad around instead of a heavy textbook. The highlighting, adding notes, and bookmark features were easy to use, find, and remove. I would definitely recommend this app.
  • Nice 5/5

    By Rbounass
    Thanks guys
  • Ridiculous 1/5

    By GriffRvB
As soon as you open app it tells you to access the textbbook through safari. Pointless.
  • Terrible app! 1/5

    By LoveTV
    It doesn't deserve a star.
  • On the iPad 2 5/5

    By Bieting
This textbook app is so much better than VitalSource. I wish my school (DeVry University) used Pearson for all online classes! With Pearson, each "page" is it's own actual page (unlike VitalSource where one book page is 3ish ePages).
  • Try the other Pearson e-text app 1/5

    By mybaby06
I was also unable to get this one to work, however there is another app, made by Pearson specifically for your books. It has an e with a book in the background on the picture. All you have to do is sign into the Pearson website (mastering chemistry for example), type in the long code that correlates with the book you bought, then sign into the app. Any book you have entered the code in the past year will be loaded onto it and you can use it from there.
  • App does not work :( 1/5

    By Erica Horton
Unfortunately I have Pearson's Mathlabs Plus for my math class and although the website says I can view my multimedia textbook via my iPad Retina it continues to not work. I've spoken with Pearson's customer service and they said they would get back to me but after be after a week and a half I haven't heard back from them. I'm hoping some IT person is working on fixing this app. If I hear back from them I will update this review. PLEASE FIX this app!!!! I don't want to carry my math and stats textbooks around all day!
  • No retina support 1/5

    By Sean Simplified
If you have 3rd generation iPad, you will see a terrible online book, it doesn't have clearly text and images. DO NOT USE IT!
  • Safe to say I hate Pearson 1/5

    By davidjchavez
Their website is not working. Their app doesn't have any of my books and this app is horrible. So this company charges students 10x what we pay for any other book, they take advantage of false demand and their products are pathetic. Pearson is an evil company.
  • Link online doesn't work 1/5

    By williams family
Can't even get the book on my iPad. Can't get as far because the site won't let me log in on iPad. DON'T DOWNLOAD THIS APP. WASTE OF TIME
  • Doesn't support all ebooks. 2/5

    By Xyz0226
    Especially math labs
  • Ttl cr4p! 1/5

    By Harinama
Exactly as other reviewers said, would be great if it worked but the "Pegasus" web page will not work with Safari on the iPad. OH HAI USELESS WASTE OF TIME!
  • Crisp text 5/5

    By PLC56
If you are seeing any titles with "fuzzy" text, you should contact Pearson 24/7 Support and provide them with the title and page number and Pearson will attempt to remedy it.
  • June 26, 2012 summer session 1/5

This app still doesn't work. It says to log in with Safari web browser and go from there. Safari web browser is not supported by Pearson Ed so, though I can enter my user name and password the "login" button is not clickable. I'm sorry but how stupid is that?! Instructors don't want excuses Pearson, fix this and your website it's all SNAFU.
  • Useless 1/5

    By Barthm01
Apparently only some textbooks are available for eText with this app but no one can tell you if your book is included. This app is useless if your book is not available so you either have to use a desktop or laptop or simply spend the full amount for the old textbook. I'm not sure why I'm surprised at the textbook companies anymore.
  • Love it 5/5

    By *iDi
Of all the text book apps I have used from McGraw to Pearson to CourseSmart, I have to say this is the nicest one as far as navigation goes. I love the page views and the speeds that the pages load.
