Since the latest overhaul of this app, a few weeks ago, it is not nearly as good as it was. Specifically, Bill Pay is showing old bills as due or recently paid. One has to log in the old fashioned way to get correct info. PLEASE fix the Bill Pay function! It used to work perfectly, but is now completely unreliable in the mobile app. This is core functionality that has been degraded by the recent “fixes”.

Ever since the update the interface looks sleeker, BUT they removed the ability to view check images in the mobile app. This was a nice feature - not sure why they removed the ability to view checks in the app.

I was used this app for couple year, always deposit check on my phone , it was pretty good. Since they updated the app , I cannot deposit my check anymore, always has issues on my image and I used the some phone I don’t know why. Need to update again ☹️

Really, why do we have to use “online banking” now to see the check images? And when you actually go to see the image online (after multiple steps to get to it) it doesn’t even load! Are we moving backwards now? ;(
Santander App Review 1/5
This is a horrible “upgrade” of the old Santander app. Unable to complete transactions. Often seeing “unable at this time, please try again later”, especially for Bill Pay. Can’t see pending transfers. Prosper and Thrive is a pretty useless addition. Account balance is confusing (available vs. actual). Pending credit card (Santander to Santander) do not appear. Bill Pay functionality is probably the worst of the app “upgrade”. Confusing, clunky and often doesn’t work right. Did you test this on actual mobile banking customer focus groups? I can’t imagine that anyone has validated that this is an improvement over the last version.

I could not check my acct to see if my transfer went through to pay bills. I kept getting acct info not available or unable to give acct details. My grandson also has Santander and was unable to pay his rent on time. He wanted to get gas but could not verify his balance. Come on people. This hasn’t been the first time. Unhappy

The app is very clunky, and doesn’t easily show your available balance, just your actual. Even more frustrating- the app since updating now longer shows check images, you must use a desktop for that(and even at that, Safari won’t do it, you need another browser). AND you have to allow them to see your location in order to use MANY functions of the app. This bank is horrible all around. Go somewhere else.

This app is harder to use and bill pay is complicated. Old amounts are shown and it took time to find how to get a list of bills. Also some of the name of my bills were changed. I usually need to google the website so what’s the use of this new app?

You now have to view checks using online banking? Why? Many people are moving away from PCs and web and rely solely on smartphones and apps. You used to have it and don’t see why you took this feature away.

The new app eliminated the ability to see cleared check images. In online BillPay, it also gives the user erroneous information about “recent” transactions (the ones it shows you are not recent, they are several months old and your actual recent transactions cannot be seen). Likewise, after arranging to pay a bill and you hit “submit”, the “confirmed payment” screen does not recapitulate info re: the payee you just paid or the dollar amount. Annoying when you go to make the entry in your check ledger or even if you want to verify you paid the right payee or paid the correct dollar amount. Who thought of this?! Bring back the old app or fix the new one!

Pretty good. I can now do everything I needed to able to do. No complaints at all. I still go to my bank regularly just because I like the people there. Shout out to Lance.

Unlike other banks, Santanders online banking information is very unclear on funds available after transaction. Don’t like it at all.

If you have already made the monthly payment, why does Santander send payment reminders. It always looks as if it was paid too early and applied to the previous months payment which has never been late to my knowledge.
