Doesn’t support iPadOS. It runs but you get a tiny phone ui only. Not changing from SmokeIT for now because I only use my ipad with my smoker, and SmokeIT has an iPad UI
Slow and glitchy 1/5

Almost unusable. Extremely frustrating. Takes at least one minute to load. Any button pushes take another 30 seconds to a minute to respond. Most times it takes several tries to connect to anything in the app. Constantly get message that “ a server error has occurred. Try again”. Gets stuck when displaying temperature graph. Only way to get back to the grill monitor and control page is to restart app.

I downloaded it because the Smoke It app said I needed to. It’s been saying “server failure” for a week and won’t let me create an account. Luckily I kept the smoke it app.

This app is extremely frustrating. Everything loads very slowly. Once connected To the grill, toggling to controls to recipes or anything else takes too much time. I hope they can get this figured out. I’ve downloaded, uninstalled, reinstalled, updated…the app is crap.

This is not ready to be released. Just a horrible experience. Every time I open the app “A server error occurred”. Finally after restarting the app 30 times I was able to add a grill but connecting….no go. Said bluetooth was connected and then tried Wi-Fi but was unable to connect. Just bad. I’ll try again in a month or 2. I’m pretty go with networking/tech, it was absolutely the app. I haven’t ever felt compelled to write an app review until now.

This is the worst excuse for an app I have ever had the displeasure of being forced to use. The previous app had its quirks but worked and I could connect to my grill and get notifications. This new app does none of the previous with any amount of frequency. You see json errors more often than the recipe you are looking for and the pit boss grill logo when trying to connect to your grill.

My biggest issue with this shiny new app is the reliance on connectivity to pitboss’s server. If their servers is down, the app is nonfunctional. The previous app had no such restriction. You also now are required to register an account in order to control or monitor your grill. Why do I have to give my email to yet another IoT device?

New app is malfunctioning constantly and always gives me a server error when my blue tooth and Wi-Fi are working. This has to be a problem with app, thanks Pit Boss for forcing me to download a new worthless app.

Got the pop up from the SmokeIT app and I proceeded to download the Pit Boss App and nothing worked from beginning to trying to log in. The app isn’t connecting to the internet and I have verified all setting on the app and it still will not connect, even though zoom writing this review and posting on the INTERNET!

I really like the smoker but the app needs a lot of improvements. App crashes often, I get server error when trying to login. If it wasn’t for these issues, I would have rated it higher. I just did an update that did not help the issues mention above. I purchased the smoker because of the ability to control it remotely. Please fix these issues ASAP!!

Terrible!!! If I could give this app a negative I would! Server is always down and unable to operate or log in. Customer service is no help as the just say keep i e stalling and reinstall app. Doesn’t work. Never again will I even consider a Pit Boss smoker just because of this app.

Had to download this stupid app because smoke it is no longer supported been trying for an hour to connect my grill and continually get server error notifications from the app sure glad I spent extra to get a Wi-Fi enabled grill that I can’t use oh yeah really can’t use it because the temp control dial on the grill itself has not worked since I purchased the grill

With the smoke it app,connecting and controlling the grill worked as expected over Wi-Fi. So far with the pit boss app I am frequently getting sever errors and can sporadically get connected. Very frustrating

I really hoped Dansons were stepping up there game by moving Pit Boss owners over to this app. So far, the 3/25 update has nothing but server errors and won’t allow logging into the app. The app crashes continually. Sadly, this was a big reason I bought my Pro Elite: Network connectivity. It has spoiled my cook for today as my grill kicked off during church service.

This app never remembers my account info and now I can’t even make an account with the original info I have been using and it won’t recognize the previous info for lost password or anything of the sort. App is fully up to date but I always have this issue. Done with it.

I wasn’t a fan of this new app but it seemed to work like the last until now. The app looses connection to server you have to keep logging in and when you do it hangs up and never connects. I try and reload my smoker, but the app just locks up and won’t work. Please fix since grilling season is close.

This was to be the “fixed” version of SmokeIt, right? I still haven’t been able to get the app to connect to my smoker a single time. Literally, never. At least with SmokeIt, which was awful, I could use voodoo, hold my breath for 30 seconds, and drink vinegar and then it would work. This—nothing. I spent almost $1000 for Louisiana Grills smoker. In part I spent that for the wifi controller so I could go to work, church, gym, or the voodoo market while smoking. What a waste. Never again.

The app is unusable due to constant server errors. I was eventually able to connect my grill but another server error occurred and the connection was deleted.
Also, I discovered that the control boards are made in china. So you child be wary of connecting these grills to your home network.
