  • PlantSnap app 5/5

    By soliplyr
This app is so great. I live on 40 acres and all is brush and trees. Always wonder what different plants are. Now I can find out within a minute. Helps to know if something is poisonous or not. Thanks so much!! Love it!!
  • Wanted to love it 2/5

    By NC Yogi
I really wanted to love this app. I did a lot of research comparing plant identification apps and it seemed to have the best reviews. I’m starting a clinical herbalism course and wanted a fast way to easily identify common plants. I have submitted many over the last month+ to have one of the experts identify (because nothing close to it showed up in the results from the photo). I’ve also sent at least one support request asking for help to get the app to be more accurate and try to find out how to get experts to respond to the requests to help identify and have not received a response. So as hopeful as I was (even recommending it to people 1 day after purchasing), I can say that I would no longer recommend and that I am disappointed in the support/responsiveness and ability to corrected identify a plant. I’ve also watched the tutorial videos to give tips on how to take photos, but it didn’t change my results. Hope others have better experiences than me. If support people read this, could you make a request or explain to me why experts aren’t responding to my questions? Thank you!
  • Doesn’t work 1/5

    By jackson9460
Can’t this to work. Takes a picture and then nothing. Also keeps cutting out.
  • Deleted before using 1/5

    By Britalian2ndgen
I deleted before ever using once I got into what the app requires. I will not give access to all my photos. Why? I should be able to scan the plant and have it identified. Refuse to grant access to my personal files. Not worth getting hacked.
  • I don't recommend this app 2/5

    By Brenevere
I paid for this app and I wish I hadn't. More times than not while trying to id a plant this app had been wrong. Don't waste your money or time.
  • Disappointed 1/5

    By Goldie1232
I bought this for a nominal fee a long tume ago. Now it wants me to pay. What’s up? And why does it still say free on apps
  • Plant Snap 5/5

    By Yarnwoman
I find myself running around snapping every plant I can find!! If you get this, consider ad-free. It is a wonderful app!
  • Not recommended 2/5

    By loveallthekittehs
This app is horrible. It identifies about 20% accurately and if there are no flowers and just leaves forget it.
  • Not very accurate 2/5

    By Anne Chamberlain
This app gets it way wrong most times.
  • Requires logging in to an account 1/5

    By simX
Nope nope nope. Plant identification should not require logging into an account. Not Facebook, not Google, not even a separate account. Accounts can bring *additional* benefits, but if an account is required for any operation at all, that’s unacceptable.
  • Fun app for a green gardener 5/5

    By buubuu001
I downloaded the app on recommendation. I’ll admit I’ve tried gardening in the past as it’s my gramma’s favorite hobby. This app has helped me identify 2 of her plants so I can care for them properly. Question: what’s the difference between this app and the Pro app?

  • Works like a charm! 5/5

I have used this app many times. Especially when walking my dog and seeing a very interesting flower. Give me a quick answer. Which is very convenient!
  • So bad 1/5

    By minkies01
‘This app has identified a pine tree as a North American beech and a South American silk floss tree- really?
  • Plant snap I’d 5/5

    By Mouse kit
I like this app. Easy to use. Just snap pic and ids it. It will give more then one pic/plant name if there is similar looking plants. I like that I can take pic on my photo program and it transfers it to PlantSnap app.
  • Better than nothing, I guess 2/5

    By SilverShoelaces
I installed this app because I couldn't find a way to identify a plant that was given to me by Googling it. It did eventually work--the mystery plant is called diffenbachia--but it took multiple attempts to get that far, and the app incessantly reminded me all the while that I only have a limited number of free snaps before I would have to pay. The app was completely unable to identify my bamboo. I can't give it one star, because it works (eventually), but I can't justify any more than two because of all the bloat (that useless tutorial did not help me take better photos and was a complete waste of time) and the frustration in getting the pictures taken successfully. There's something very irritating about the app circling leaves, inviting me to explore them, returning zero relevant results, and then ticking down my remaining number of free pictures, all before I've pressed the picture button.
  • Love the app, works as advertised, except never gotten plant identified by botanists 3/5

    By TreaHugger
I use this app almost daily. Works amazing as advertised sans botanist feature. I bought the paid version of the app a long time ago but for some reason i never got the plants identified that I sent in to be identified, so I bought the lifetime subscription on the sale day thinking that would fix it. However, I still have the six or so plants I’ve sent in “awaiting identification” for over a year now. Otherwise the app works great, it’s nice to be able to learn about a plant you have in front of you.
  • Amazing 5/5

    By Flower Doc
I have been struggling to ID flowers using several guide books. This app is incredible it is so fast and easy.
  • Identification terrible 1/5

    By Pj5000msn
Identification was terrible. Tried several times and couldn’t identify a plant that another app got on first try. Also full of ads. Every picture I took an ad popped up and had to close the app.
  • Don’t upgrade within basic app 1/5

    By parabians
I downloaded the free version. I liked it. I upgraded to premium at $19 from within the basic app. Well, I never got the upgrade. I am five emails in with Plantsnap customer support, and no resolution inside. If you want to upgrade, I recommend you buy the upgrade version from the App Store and not from within the basic app. So far I’m out $19 for nothing.
  • Very Cool 5/5

    By zannaszoo
Love how fast it brings a response of what the plant possibly is. So far, many times it nails it the first time.
  • Needs a little bit more work 3/5

    By candyflippen
I’m not having good luck with getting the real plants names I’m looking for.?but this is an awesome app I hope it starts working out better

    By menomnee. deb
Avid plant collector .... love this site !!!!
  • PlantSnap 5/5

    By syyrinx
I use this app a couple of times a month and it may not be 100% accurate every time but it gets close enough that I either know what it is or I can Google it. Googling is half the gun so the app works great for me.
  • So helpful 5/5

    By Cruise Lover!
I use this app all the time when I’m out. I look for local plants that are growing well. I take a picture of them and I can find out their name and grow them myself. This is an amazing app!
  • Premium??? 1/5

    By leaner11689
Why after I purchase a premium life time membership do I still need to watch ads?
  • Requires registration to use 3/5

    By Lp2605
I don’t use apps that require my private information.
  • Beautiful 5/5

    By gods glow
Needed to get the name of this to plant next year thank you
  • Thumbs down 3/5

    By Agghhggg!
I thought this would be way more helpful than it was. Using the program that costs the least, users are allowed 5 photos. If you want more, you must wait 5 hours. In addition, about 60% of the pictures I took were incorrectly identified. I opted not to go to the premium program - too frustrating.
  • Great Program 5/5

    By NorthernIdaho
I don’t have a green thumb until it’s time to grow weeds. To me all green plants are weeds until I pull them and then the wife informs me of what I just pulled. (To put it nicely) This program helps me to stay out of trouble.
  • Does not work 1/5

    By elkhound1
Tried it on several different plants I own. It incorrectly identified all of them. Unfortunately identification by photo is not trustworthy. Developer responds back implying I didn’t use the app correctly assuming I had not watched or followed the instructional videos (Which I had done). When you take a perfectly framed and clear picture of the plant, leaves and flowers (if they have any) and it mid-identifies all of them and even the suggested alternatives are wrong then the app is not worth my time.
  • Very Poor Performance at Identifying Plants 1/5

    By OrangeWhip9
Used to use an app that went away, but identified plants based upon shape, and structure of leaves, stems, count, etc. This app seems to not correctly identify anything, at all. Thanks for trying.
  • Poor 1/5

    By newpal23
Will not let me save. Gives multiple options of name of plants. Mis identified 3 of 5 choices. I was expecting it to tell me what I was looking at rather than making me guess. Making me choose a nickname. First six choices are taken. Not sure I want to spend the day trying to create a nickname.
  • Really bad app. 1/5

    By I EXPLOR
I was hoping that this app would work. Since I downloaded it however, it has not correctly identified one single plant and/or tree that I have taken a picture of. I am a tour guide in Colorado & perhaps it is the limitation of cell service in some of the areas that I tour my guests in. Since I was having trouble with it I thought I would try it in an area with full service & a very obvious tree, the Aspen. Sadly, misidentified that tree as well. I then tried it on a flower known as a “sky pilot.” It completely missed that one as well.
  • Error on saving info 1/5

    By kaelaschott
Keeps saying there’s an error on saving the info I find. And the first thing I tested was incorrect.
  • Usually never write reviews but this app is worth one. 4/5

    By Sly-1028
I had the same idea for this app to snap and I’d flora &fauna back with iPhone 3 and so glad that others had it too to make it possible. Been using this app for a few days and it’s great, some times some IDs get mess up even if you follow the instructions but it’s definitely not broken like some people have been committing and like any computers recognition software there’s never always 100% but if you take another pic of a different sister flower or leaf you’ll get it at least 9/10 times what your looking for. An ideas to make it more interactive is to have & earn badges that you can collect when you find and snap different species and maybe even colors. kind of like a Pokédex style.
  • Become Plant Smart 5/5

    By C Villy
You quickly learn so much about the plants around you’re home. I’m glad I found the app.
