Just wish you could skip the pop up dialogue in a better way, add bus stops in traffic view and use dynamite like you add roads.
SimCity for touch 5/5
This is way more fun than the original SimCity of 1989 that clearly inspired it, so much less punishing but still requires good strategy—and for so little money, with absolutely no IAP nonsense. If you like sim games, you owe it to yourself to pick this up. I've gotten my money's worth several times over.
Pls! We need night! 4/5
Great game small map 3/5
By The century city mayor
The game is great but the maps, even the large ones are relatively small
So refreshing and kinda frustrating 4/5
By AUTOBOT ORCA
I love that no pay to win or in app purchases are in this game, That is why I bought it. That being said when I have a 4*4 block that has no power or water and I literally build power plants and water towers all around it and it still has no utilities? Ugh my ocd kicks in and I demo the area and plant trees. You would think a 4 by 4 block with roads and power and water on all 4 sides would fix any supply problems lol maybe it’s just a glitch in a fun game.
Freezing up recently 4/5
I have enjoyed playing this game but over the last few days I have noticed the game is freezing up. Sometimes to the point where I have to completely reboot my phone. Could we have a bug repair update please?
Add tornado sirens 5/5
You should add tornado sirens so the people in the city will feel more protected
Really great game! 5/5
By Ozzy Meowsbourne
I love this game. It’s an amazing one. You pay the initial price and everything else in game is free. No in app purchases. No advertisement. Not a grinding game either, I’m already on level 86 in two days. Lots to keep you occupied and I love that they have an option for portrait mode. I’m not someone that likes to pay landscape games. So this makes a big difference.
Good game 5/5
I love the game it’s very good. Can waste management would be a good addition to this game. I also think you should bring airports into the game to import/export things.
By far the best city building app! 5/5
I really enjoyed this game. I’ve played it all the way through multiple times. I just wish there was a hair more to do as I’d definitely pay for extra content.
Totally worth it! 5/5
For the price of a coffee, you get a fun city building game full of features and no annoying in app purchase! It works well as a five minute break or an hour long building binge. If you ever enjoyed Simcity, this is a no-brainer.
Love This Game! 5/5
I wanted to emphasize the fact that this is an awesome game that is not free to play! I love that you can play it without ads to purchase $100 worth of gems.
Amazing game! 5/5
I have so much fun playing this game. Great memories. My kids love to play together with me as well. THUMBS UP!
This game is great!!! 5/5
I find that I can spend hours on this game without getting bored I love city builders and this is one of the best ones on the App Store.
There is little to no waiting time (for example when you buy a building you don’t need to wait 15 minutes) and it has fairly easy gameplay. It has many similar elements to other bigger city builders such as zoning, natural disasters, crime, etc. All in all, this game is great and I totally recommend.
This is just a brain dead game. It’s not that fun and you can’t do much. I wish you could see the people needs and give them jobs. Rip I wasted my money and I can’t get a refund.
The game you’ve been looking for 5/5
If you are a fan of SimCity / Cities Skylines and games like that - THIS is the mobile game you’ve been looking for to scratch that itch. This may be the first game I have ever reviewed on the App Store and there is one major thing causing me to do so: No micro-transactions. For what this game IS, you’d think it would be infested with them but for the price of this game you get a really great (and for someone who rarely gets hooked on mobile games), really satisfying city simulator. I’ve been waiting for one for a while, and the others out there can’t compare. I highly suggest this game AND supporting the developers who are making outstanding decisions.
One thing I have noticed that could be potential improvement - when building (a road specifically, but really when building anything), it would be nice if you had to double tap to confirm placement of an object / the start of drawing the road. I frequently find myself going to scroll to see where I’m going to draw my road - but end up drawing a road, and having to cancel and start again. Not an issue, I’ve developed a workflow for it - but this would be a usability boost useful for mobile in my opinion! Keep up the outstanding work 👍
Great, fun game, but I wish there was more! 5/5
I fell in love with a PC game called Cities:Skylines and that is what got me hooked on city sim games. It was incredibly complex, and I think that it's good that this game is simpler than that, but I also think that more would be great. I played 5 hours and reached level 96, and there is basically nothing left to do. I am basically relying on events to get to level 99 so I can do a space launch. In-app purchases for expansions would even be fine! I hate in app currency purchases, but a bigger map or more zone upgrades would be great! I could make another city, but maybe a commerce system for trading between cities would be cool too! All that said, I do love this game.
More disasters 5/5
I love this game sooo much but there needs to be a tsunami or something like more disasters, also the map needs to be bigger because my amazing city needs to be upgraded but I don’t have room to fit more buildings or roads.
No penny-pinching 5/5
I never write reviews. But this game is SUCH a breath of fresh air that I can’t not say something. I love Sim City type games, so this one fit the bill PERFECTLY.
But even better: NO MICRO-TRANSACTIONS. I couldn’t believe it! It’s actually a game in which I pay money upfront, and get the full thing, without being locked behind insane time barriers and confusing in-game currencies. The free to play model is absolutely awful, and these devs know it. I’m so sick and tired of all these other games that give me no choice but to pay in order to, you know, PLAY their game. If Pocket City was double in price I’d absolutely give it to them.
Great game, great dev time, and great profit model. Other devs: take note. We notice things like this.
Needs more room to grow your city 4/5
I love the game, I really do, but there’s one problem that needs to be fixed... I need more space! I’ve only had the game for a day and I’ve already built my city all the way up to the border of the map. I don’t know if you’re supposed to delete older buildings to make room for new ones or not, but I would like to have space to grow without deleting please. Thank you.
Great game. Baaad sound
The game is very simple. It has good visuals, and plays very nice. The only thing that I do not like is the rendering of the buildings. As a PC gamer, I expect good rendering if I pay for the game.
Meh money 4/5
I’ve seen people over 100 cash on the game but my money is awlays stoping at 100 or 150 plz fix this I can’t buy any kind of land be cuz it’s 205
Save your money 2/5
By Alexander Rudenka
Boring and repetitive game. Do not listen positive reviews, if you want fun and challenging game — go for other titles, like TheoTown. If you want dull and unrewarding experience, try this one.
Worth the one time payment 5/5
This game is great, one time purchase for hours of fun. The art design is simple and attractive, and the mechanics are smooth. I love how there’s none of that “bucks” stuff that we typically see. It’s smooth addictive game play that will have you hooked. I love how you need to sort out traffic, meet demands of population, and keep track of pollution, etc. it’s worth the money.
Great game 4/5
Great Game to kill time keeps me busy on the road ANYWHERE. I wish you guy would add a SNOW BUILD ZONE PLEASE.
Great game but... 5/5
By Jon huzik
The game is great. Definitely worth 3.99. The game is really cool and very easy unlike Sim City. Okay so time for the bad part. The game is laggy on my IPad Air. When I try to build a road I start it at an interchange then it lags. So the road starts in the middle of the space at the two roads. And when I try to move the screen it lags. And what’s that when your in the middle of your game then it goes back to the starting screen. It’s kind of annoying me now. Besides all of those the game is great! I hope you make some new updates in the future.
No Microtransactions 5/5
5 stars because the game is good and has no microtransactions or time outs. Would like to see more features though for higher replay ability.
Addictive and Mind-Blowing! 5/5
(PS: Read this before buying this game for some either spoilers, reviews, or suggestions for the developer.) First of all, this is an amazing game! It’s like SimCity but even better! SimCity says, “Not enough materials! Would you like to purchase to complete this action?” This game is NOTHING like that. $3.99? WORTH IT. No In-App purchases, no paying, none of that stuff. This a game where you can embark on a building game that is realistic and should be #1 on everything. Take that, SimCity! I know, SimCity is kind of good, despite all the paying and all that, but you should download this to get rid of your building worries. This is super addicting and you can even upgrade buildings to make them look even cooler! This is for the developer, if you read the essay I wrote for people that download and buy, thank you and have a great day!: Okay developer, we need to talk about the suggestions. 1. Maybe we can upgrade the upgraded even more. 2. We can make the police, fire department, and hospital cars go just a little bit faster to not make playing this game a little bit exciting? Last but not least, 3. Maybe make destroying rocks and mountains a little bit easier for non-sandbox modes? It is up to you to help and fix these suggestions and prove me and all the fans of this game share it to even more people! Sorry if I gave you PRESSURE!
J.C. Blair 1/5
I had just purchased the Pocket City app expecting to be able to plan and design my own city but it appears that I am forced to build roads where the game wants me to build them and not where I want. I would like my $3.99 back, please.
I don’t even like city buildings - and this is amazing. 5/5
This game is straight refreshing. As the title says, I don’t even like city building games and this is probably the best iPhone game I have ever played. What the heck? I downloaded it because the reviews seemed exceptional and I instantly poured 2 hours in it. No micro transactions, I didn’t realize how FUN and FREE that makes a game feel. It’s easy to learn but you can make it as easy or complex and fast-paced as you like. I just can’t believe it. It’s like they actually made a game with quality, fun, and their customers in mind and not just profits. It’s more than worth the $4 and I will actively seek out other games by this company and happily give them my money. Thanks for making an amazing game. I can think of so many times I wish I had had this game. As for recommendations, if anything, I’d love to see different, even unlockable “aesthetics”. For example buildings/parks/monuments with different decor like Asian, European, American or other themes so you can make visually different looking cities. I hope that makes sense... I do really like how the maps are randomly generated though.
No pay to play. Consistently updated and tweaked. During the 6 months or so I’ve been playing, several new buildings and features have been added. If you’re looking for sim city type experience and no paid add ons, look no further.
Great game 4/5
Needs more room on the game canvas. The city basically ends after exp 100 because there isn’t more room to build.
Totally Worth The Price 5/5
This game is incredible. I do wish it had more items like wind turbines, amusement parks, etc.. but other than that... great game
Almost there 4/5
A cute little city builder. A little more explanation of the mechanics would be nice. Being able to restart from scratch is a good feature.
The thing that made me stop playing might have been a bug...I’m not sure. A building was complaining of a lack of water. I wound up surrounding it with water towers, but the not-enough-water complaint never went away.
Plus, some of the “quests” involve noticing certain behaviors among the citizens. Even on a 9-inch tablet, the people are very difficult to make out - I can’t imagine how hard it would be on a phone.
Fantastic game 5/5
By Mirido Motoji
Amazing game! Great potential to develop!
Best city builder 5/5
I rarely write reviews BUT this game really impressed, and was so worth the purchase. I played sim city back on the Super Nintendo and although the App Store offered a lot of similar games (although most tend to be money grabbers with all those iap’s to try and proceed only an inch in the game, *cough cough* EA) this game had exactly the nostalgia feel I was looking for with that modern twist. Love this game and am so looking forward to future updates and whatever you great developers decide to add. :)
By big guy with bigger penis
Make it so I can have a war with other cities online I will make it 5 if possible
It’s okay but lacks challenge 3/5
This game has a lot of promise but ultimately falls flat due to the lack of challenge and variety that it presents. Once you’ve built and maxed out 2-3 cities then you’ve essentially done it all. I wanted to love this game - and there is a lot to love! - but it simply doesn’t have enough to make me want to come back for more.
I was playing this game on my iPhone, spent some money as well. Was enjoying the game built my city up. Figured I’d play on my iPad because of the larger screen. Why didn’t my progress carry over????
Perfect city building game, only thing missing is Day & Night simulation! 4/5
Perfect game, one-time payment was great. Only thing missing, I hope they update it and let it have a day & night simulation because how great it would be if everything lights up every once in awhile?!
Replaced my MiniMetro Addiction!! 5/5
I’ve literally played Mini Metro for years! Pocket City has been a life saver and mixed up my game play. It’s so relaxing and rewarding - ABSOLUTELY LOVE no in game purchases!!!
I do have a gameplay wishlist though! (1) make highway bridges instead of just road bridges. (2) Add in boats/plains/trains that serve a purpose in transporting goods/people/etc. (3) Give ability to visit other user cities. (4) Add more levels, challenges, story lines for levels after 200. (5) Give better insight on what controls/increases/lowers things such as zone upkeep, etc.
Overall an absolutely phenomenal game that I’m sure I’ll continue to play for a very long time to come!
Finally an app that dosent bombard you 5/5
This is a fun game, dosent constantly send you notifications or ads!!
Very nice sim City type 4/5
Only thing I miss is being able to rotate view. Add that and it's the perfect mobile City building game. Without that it falls short
Fun inexpensive game with no freemium! 5/5
By Andrea ABG
My first sim game was Sim City 2000, and I’ve been faithfully summing since then, but EA has sucked the life out of it for me. Pocket City is what EA should have put out for its Sim City iPhone game instead of the micro transaction mess it did.
This game is the work of a single developer. It is engaging and fun and runs smoothly. It’s not perfectly balanced (good GOD how many stores and fire houses do these citizens need) but it is clever in its own logic + playable for many many hours for one small price.
Casual level is very easy once you get the hang of it , which, isn’t the worst thing if you just enjoy building a city and don’t want to stress. The more advanced levels allow you to worry and fret.
I love this game. I look forward to updates and new titles.
Worth the buy! 5/5
I was really hesitant cause I don’t usually pay for games, but this one was exactly what I was looking for! Too cool!
Great game but 4/5
We need an option to rotate buildings! It bothers me not seeing a building facing the road.
Cities: Skylines & SimCity in mobile form! 4/5
I’ve been playing a bit of Cities: Skylines lately, but I was looking for something I could take with me on my phone and iPad. This is the perfect mobile city-builder/urban planning game. If you’re into those types of games, you won’t regret it. 🤓 🏙
Wonderful game, could have different entertainment/fun stuff 5/5
I have been playing this game since it came out. I actually pre-ordered it. So I have been thinking it would be cool to have a few things to expand the Entertainment ratio. Things like a gym, a night club, burger joint, maybe a drive in theater. Ice skating rink, a cafe. Just a few things to spice the town up. It would be cool. Thank you for this game anyway. I love it because it soothes my anxiety. I must have built or 50 towns. There is no pressure to finish any quest, and best of all no in app purchases. I love this game!
