I have been using PromptSmart Pro weekly for two years to give sermons at my church. I typically use an iPad, but have also used my iPhone and my MacBook Pro. This software is virtually flawless. It is by far the best speech recognition engine I have tried, it is easy to learn, and it has never let me down before a live audience. I am a good writer, but I have problems with memory when I try to give a speech live. PromptSmart Pro is a lifesaver for me. Every time I forget what I am going to say next, PromptSmart Pro has correctly moved the teleprompter to the correct next line in my sermon. This allows me to speak fluently and flawlessly while focusing my attention on my audience, not on my text. In my past career, I was a VP of Products in the software industry (I led the creation of Rosetta Stone language learnning software), so I know a great product when I see it and use it. PromptSmart Pro is a great product.

I used to use this app all the time, but now I can’t see my script without opening it in the playback mode. This means I can’t edit or change anything without creating a new script. When I click the edit button, it shows me a blank screen with a cursor. The cursor moves when typing, but you can’t see anything as if it’s set to white text that can’t be changed. I haven’t tried anything else yet, but it might be worth looking.

Auto scroll skips lines. Then I did 5 takes of my first script and told it to save it. Well it’s not saved. I guess the only way I can save it is to pay more money for their cloud service. I’m going back to my old app.

If you are using this app with an external camera that has a phone cradle with a mirror, like the Parrot Teleprompter, the narrowest width setting is not narrow enough, especially if you are using the app on a bigger phone like the iPhone Pro Max. Eye scanning reduction is important, and you will definitely look like you are reading what you are saying. Also, there should be a means of slowing down the scroll speed. Sometimes the speech recognition hears you say a line, and the text jumps up the screen making it easy to get lost. Finally, I’d recommend skipping the remote add on app, which is a bit half baked.

Sometimes it jumps forward too fast, other times it doesn’t scroll at all. Really screwed up my live broadcast. I sent a message to support from within the app and never heard anything back.

No instructions whatsoever, I had to find some random guy who gave a tutorial on YouTube for some basic help since I had never used a teleprompter app before. how to use this, and even when I learned how to use it the functions did not work at all. It sporadically tracked my voice-- just now and then. I never knew when it was going to track it and when it wasn't. I would go to change a function and I would get the spinning ball forever. Whenever you try to change a function, you'll get an annoying pop up warning sign that the function won't take place until you are in "presentation" mode. There is no way to turn this incessant warning sign off as you are trying to figure out the right combination of functions in order to get this thing to work. I even tried upgrading my iphone software, to no avail. waste of time and money, a refund is in order. Wish I could get the 2 hours back I wasted on an app that promises a lot and does not deliver

The AI assistance follows your voice alright, but there's no option to lock into landscape mode. The in-app support ticketing system is broken, but emailing support turned into an unproductive back and forth in which they insisted I need only use the native iOS lock feature or reinstall the app, when it's clear that iOS only locks in portrait mode on iPhone. Will be requesting a refund.

Save your money if you are looking for a voice activated teleprompter. This one does not work as the app freezes and does not advance the script on its own. I had to stop recording 5 times during an 8 minute video to advance the script manually. Very frustrating. I am very disappointed in the performance of this app.

I have a bunch of suggestions; can we get more use of the native iPhone camera app? Being able to use portrait video? Zoom? Etc? Also the script clips off at the top ; I’d like to be able to adjust it down a smidge so it doesn’t go off the screen at the top.

Downloaded with hopes of using it in conjunction with Little Prompter.
The settings toggles are interlinked and buggy.
Worst of all, there’s no option to lock the screen while it’s horizontal, and the flagahip feature Voice Track does not work AT ALL for me even though it has Microphone access.
Would be happy to update my rating to higher if the team finds out what’s wrong with that, but until then, this app is unusable.

Every time I use this app I hate it and I love it. When it’s working, it works well. The problem is, I spend anywhere from 1 to 15 minutes. Trying to get it to work. I have also been halfway through a 20 minute presentation when it bugged out and deleted my video. Also the video quality and the sounds quality are greatly diminished when using this app, it makes the video sound and look low quality

Unfortunately the voice recognition only works some of the time. I’ve finally given up using it due to this bug which is super disappointing after the hefty expense. if it worked as described I wouldn’t mind the high price but as it is now it’s a mediocre app not worth more than a couple bucks.
I have an iPhone 13 mini so it shouldn’t have a compatibility issue.

I purchased the Pro app a few days ago and it’s already changing the way I do business videos and podcasts. I’ve been an off-the-cuff speaker for years. Maybe a few notecards or a sheet of paper with the quotes, but never a script. PromptSmart is so easy to use that scripts have become the easiest way to product quality content. I bought this app with a lot of anticipation of using it to script my podcast. I read through the sample scripts and it followed me with ease. When I uploaded my own word document, the voice track follows me for three sentences and then just stops following my voice. Very frustrating!

This app is useless. It didn’t work unless I was standing one to two feet from my phone which completely destroyed the purpose of having a teleprompter. I was in an absolutely quiet room with the door shut, so it’s not like there was an echo or audience noise. It’s literally the room where I shoot my audition self-tapes for film. Ridiculous waste of my money, and I’m incredibly frustrated.

Good luck trying to control the scroll remotely for this app that you have to pay for and then have to subscribe further for the remote control feature. Still won’t connect the two devices on the “Local Network”. Hours of my life I can’t get back and money.

Really frustrating experience with this app. I wish I had saved my money and not bought the full version because it won’t detect my voice or it would start and then soon after stop working. I’m now looking for alternative options as I’m here in my studio and ready to record but now I have no way to have my script scrolling properly with this app. Disappointed…

I paid 20$ for the app then they switched the app to a subscription. They also charge even more to add a digital remote. I am so angered that I paid 20$ for the app with that type of money they should include a virtual remote for free. It’s really a no brainer. The app is not operational with voice recognition. It seems like it doesn’t hear black voices very well bc my white wife says the same words that I say but it recognizes it. Hmmmmm I know that a racist app is not possible right lolol no seriously I’m a little disturbed with the app bc it has not worked properly for me.

There is now a bottom translucent menu that blocks the play button. Also you can no longer go directly from the rolling teleprompter to the settings menu to flip the text or change speed or size. You now have to bounce completely out of the teleprompter to do anything. I don’t know who FIXED this app but it used to be great.

This app is so buggy. From the text disappearing in edit mode, to the speed of auto scroll varying. I have to jump thru hoops to get the thing to not scroll at 100mph. Putting giant spaces in between sections to try and anticipate. When it works, it’s great. But...Sigh.

Wow! I am so impressed by this app. I’m a total newbie to filming videos and using this app gave me the ability to record myself in record time and appear much more competent and confident on camera. I had previously tried to memorize my scripts and it took hours of work, not to mention all of the extra time and effort it took just to get the right shot and then edit all of my ums and other filler words out of the final video. I’d also tried other teleprompter apps before and the speed thing was such an issue. I just couldn’t get it to work for me. It felt so forced. Now this app has completely changed all of that for me! The voice recognition feature is an absolute game changer. All of a sudden I am able to record videos in a few minutes instead of what felt like an eternity. This is something that seemed so far from reach for me before and all of a sudden it’s a possibility thanks to this app. Now that I use this app I actually enjoy turning on my camera and recording my videos. I use my noise cancelling lapel mic and connect it to my phone using the adapter and it works really well. Honestly this app is such a valuable tool and the best $20 I could have spent for my video production. If you are on the fence about trying it out I’d say, try out the free version to test out that the voice recognition works well with you and your microphone and if so then go ahead and get it. Just make sure that you are using a microphone that is actually connected to the phone (NO Bluetooth), speak clearly, avoid having too many background sounds and you are golden. Seriously tho, my parents where vacuuming and my neighbors dog started barking very loudly during my first test and it still worked great so I guess it’s kind of resilient in that sense. Thank you so much to the developers and the team that created this! I am super grateful! 😀🙌🙌🙌

I've tried everything for the last 48 hours to create one video and it does not follow my voice. It stops the majority of the time and when it does work, it then moves too quickly. I've changed the settings, reset my iPhone, made my space completely silent to ensure it wasn't picking up any outside noise, moved it as close to my face as possible to see if maybe it was not hearing me...nothing worked so I wasted my $ on this one.

When it works, it’s ok. However, it freezes over and over. They placed the “start/stop” button directly over the iPads “split screen” button, so you need a finger the size of a straight pin to hit it. NOT for PROFESSIONAL USE!

I do a lot of social media and video recording. The teleprompter on this app is awesome, but only being able to record in 720p is a total drag. For $20, it’s a great value, but today’s video needs to be 1080p minimum. Are you planning on upgrading this?

So far this is great! Love the auto scroll. Only thing I would request is feature to set how fast it transitions. I think if it just scrolled the speed automatically vs jumping to the new line it would be a little easier to read for the larger texts.

The current version VoiceTrack does not work with the M1 iPads. They don’t bother letting you know until to submit a ticket. Then they tell you they have no idea when they will fix it. They suggest you buy another program they have which is way more complicated and cannot be used in your iPad unless you use sidecar. I cannot figure out if this program called PromptSmart studio edition even has VoiceTrack.
