Navigation a MESS 1/5
So ... it looks good, and has good restaurants participating but the navigation is a pain in the neck! Quirky and messy. How does one search for specific restaurant? Impossible to figure out. Furthermore, I had a res randomly and mistakenly cancelled, leaving me scrambling with my busy, tired group hungry on a Saturday night in New York City!

This app could be a lot more intuitive and it is quite slow. It’s slow to process each request : the day, time, number of people, etc..instead of letting you just select all the details at once and then beginning the search - in the end this makes it very cumbersome compared to Open Table. A redeeming quality is the wait list/notify option which allows you to get a table if there are cancellations.

The resy app needs a lot of work. Finding restaurants is not easy, changing the time, date and # of people is slow, and the notify function has never worked well. Keep working on it!

Lots of good restaurants participating with their service. But, it’s extremely frustrating to use the app. It’s nearly impossible to simply search for a restaurant by name. You have to search the exact time and location and trial and error to triangulate to the actual restaurant for which you want to see availability. Don’t even try to check another day without starting from scratch. Map feature automatically zooms in as you type limiting the search to a location I don’t want.

This app forces you to import all contacts to invite others to a reservation, as well as persistently asking for reviews of past meals. That’s not an acceptable way to treat users.

I’m using Resy for the first time today while planning a trip to Austin at the end of May. I just bought the airline tickets and want to make some reservations at my favorite restaurants before I get busy with work and forget. What! Resy only lets you make reservations 10 days out? Boy am I disappointed. I’ll be talking to the owners of my favorite restaurants about switching to OpenTable! And yes, I do know them by name, even in another state.

We should be able to type the name of restaurant to search, type the area to search instead of going to the map and move around.

Not a very good interface ... has d to find the specific restaurant I wanted ... open table is much smoother and straight forward. It’s as if the authors never actually talked with customers or used it to make a reservation.

We’ve been coming here since it opened. You can choose a quiet terrace table or a great busy sushi bar seat or an intimate nook. Service is always professional. The sashimi is to die for, sake selection is great, and specialty items are worth hunting for on the menu. Toilet arrangements in the courtyard are a little quaint, but everything is totally clean. You might even get to meet the owner: Sushi Ran has never been tempted to breed another site, let alone become a chain. This is the Zen of sushi. Great Feng Shui, the Chinese might say. But where can you find a Chinese restaurant as calm and great and courteous as this Japanese one? Always a pleasure!

I followed all the rules and wanted to make a reservation 30days in advance at 9am (8 my time). I have my credit card info on file and I was trying to get a 10:30am reservation and the app kept having “technical difficulties” and I lost the reservation. I tried other times and the same issue kept happening and I was left with no reservation for my birthday. Then I check my bank statement and I see that several test charges were made for the restaurant. If I can’t even secure the reservation, why are they swiping the card? I reach out to the help email to notify of the functionality issue and they didn’t even read my email at all and just kept responding with generic responses as if it’s a robot. If you’re a restaurant, you should use OpenTable, which I’ve been s happy user of for several years.

The app does not clear notifications until you rate its restaurants. Customers of restaurants should not be forced to have to review them just because the restaurants use this platform. Not only does that sour the user experience, but it also taints the user’s feelings about the restaurant itself. Also, if one is on a waitlist, the app does not inform you of the same. Thus, a potential patron is left in limbo, without a reservation, and without any information about the status. If I could avoid using it,I would not use this platform.

It's impossible to look and make a resv. In advance, I only downloaded to resv. A date for the bluebox cafe at tiffanys and they force you to download resy which doesn't even allow you to look at dates!!!! Awful!!!

Maybe it was user error on my part — but I do manage tons of logins elsewhere successfully.

I love the notify me feature for hard to get reservations. I find it hard to search for restaurants though with the app. I feel like the app pushes you to tables instead of restaurants that you are actually looking for. When I want a specific restaurant I have to back out of the app and just go to the restaurant website and get into Resy from there. It’s Annoying.

It’s amazing. How else could I get a day-of reservation at Lilia or Shuka or Atla or any of the super booked restaurants? You have to be quick, but it actually works! Don’t think I’ve ever been called with cancellation updates when I’ve left a message with the restaurant directly. This is so much better!!

Ironically, I use resy all the time but I’ve never actually gotten a reservation - even when booking weeks in advance! They email you when a reservation “might” be available, just to bring you to the app where you can see there are in fact NO reservations for days. This happens even when you click through the moment the notification arrives in your inbox. Can someone please explain this to me? I am baffled.
