Disappearing function 1/5
Sometime in February (?), the app dropped the function of tapping on a glossary word in-text to pop-up the definition.
Nice while it lasted, I guess.
Bug fixes did nothing 1/5
I get logged out of my account randomly WHILE IM ACTIVELY USING THE APP. It got even worse after the update! You’d think, with how much money Pearson milks out of students, that they’d actually develop higher quality products than this...
First semester using revel and I love it. It's the easiest app to use while doing hw on your phone.
Great app- but glitchy 3/5
It is a great app with really helpful study tools. The read aloud option is a great tool to have when you are don’t have the time to read or if you are driving, commuting, etc.
However I have a problem when it comes to the quizzes. Every time I try and go into the quiz the app completely shuts down on me. Crazy. Someone should look into it, it’s really a hassle
Audio feature could use work... 1/5
I dislike that that audio feature only allows you to go page by page causing you to have to pause your tasks while listening. It should be able to play through the entire chapter...
Stupid didn't work 1/5
Wouldn't load any of my classes
By Just for color
It’s a great app! Means you can do hw without being restricted to a pc.
No Text Showing on IPhone 1/5
I was excited to be able to access my text book anywhere, anytime and even more excited about the audio option. However, after I downloaded the app, then downloaded the text I selected my chapter to read only to discover there is no text visible. It acts like it’s there, but nope it is not. I’ve tried reloading the app and nothing changed. I don’t want to have to read this on a full lap top every time....
Auto log out 3/5
I wish it would keep me logged in on the device I most recently used. Or at least have an option to remember the account name. It is frustrating to have to put in my username and password on my iPad pro every time I want to study. Also doesn't work with my SwiftKey keyboard that would auto fill my email address.
Time waste. 1/5
Horrible customer service, they lie first of all, so if you're a student, just be ready to not have any access to necessities via app for a while. You'll lose studying time.
Even though they have the biggest ideas of online access to courses and having technology and school meet in the middle, yet they make it so difficult to be a part of it. They can't help you if you want to get rid of an account, merge accounts, or even simply change their app so courses could be added swiftly.
It's 2018. Please, change things up and prove you really are here to help students.
Unable to take quizzes 2/5
Every time I go to take a quiz the app crashes. I like being able to read my books on the go, but as other people have stated the fact that it starts over is kind of a pain.
Liked it save an issue 2/5
I really like this for the convenience that allows me to use my time to its fullest. However, the audio does not seem to work and that is why I wanted it. I have re downloaded it three times to no avail. Some of the chapters even work for audio. Just not the first ones. If this improves I will change my review.
Read aloud is frustrating 3/5
Love the option that I can listen to my text book during my commutes, but the app always locks up/freezes and logs me out (but is somehow still playing) and I can’t pause it when I reach my destination. I then have to close the whole app and find later where I was at. Not sure if this is a bug? It would also be nice to have an option to bookmark where I left off listening, or have it automatically remember - it takes so much time having to find my way where I was, especially because it doesn’t ever allow me to start the audio where I want it to begin. If you can get all the read aloud features fixed, this would be a great app!
By Myles Runner
Definitions do not show the entire definition when you click on them. Please fix.
No alerts 2/5
I get no alerts with this app
So I have to constantly check it to make sure i don't miss a day.
Doesn’t work well 1/5
It’s upsetting that it logs me out even while I’m listening to the chapter being read. If I need to pause it I have to re insert my email address and password in order to gain access to the app again. I called they’re customer support and they said “the engineers” were trying to figure out how to keep you signed on permanently. Disappointing!!
Great app... But needs bigger font 4/5
It's difficult to read such small font. The app does not have any larger font options and isn't affected by the iPhone's main settings/font size. Please include the ability to increase font size.
Great app lets me keep up with my school work on the go.
Horrible update 2/5
While I like the convenience of having my mandatory e-textbook available to read on my ipad, the update after ios 11 has definitely been a step back. I have to keep logging in... no not with my touch id, actually log in like I do online. There isn’t even a choice to keep me signed in. I can take the smallest break during a chapter by just checking my email, but when I go back to the revel app, I have to log in yet again, AND they don’t save my spot, so I have to go back to the table of contents to find the chapter I was on and then relocate the page I was taking notes on. Quite ironic to have a horrible user interface when I’m using the app for a computer programming course.
Update was a step backwards 2/5
The intention of the update where the read aloud option goes uninterrupted may seem more convenient but in fact it was the opposite. It may be convenient if you have the time to sit down and read entire chapters but if you are like me and like to read small sections at a time whether it be during a lunch break at work or in between classes, this new feature makes it extremely inconvenient to navigate back to the section at a future time. It makes it so you have to fast forward through the entire section to pick up where you left off rather than just press play at the top of the page. Another issue is the playback speed resets back to default 1x after every page which is extremely frustrating. The new “uninterrupted read aloud” causes more interruptions than the previous versions.
Revel review 5/5
Revel is great for studying and reading. It is an exceptional website and what’s even better is that is has an app that I can use on the go.
A Frustrating Issue 3/5
Although this app is fantastic on many levels, there is one particular bug that I wish would be worked out as soon as possible. I have an iPad Pro, and with it I like to take hand written notes while simultaneously viewing the work. iPad Pro offers the ability to open two windows at a time. The REVEL app does not allow you to use this feature to its fullest extent, as it does not shrink/fit into a workable window when working side by side with a note taking application. If you could remedy that, I would give it a full 5 stars. Seeing, however, that this is seriously hindering my note taking ability, it is to frustrating not to knock it down a couple stars, since it is an educational app.
Fix this, and I will change it to 5 stars.
The BEST YOU WILL FIND 5/5
By Lewis X. D.
This app has the study guide you will need for all of the classes.
By The one and only Megs
I used to love plugging my headphones in and listening to the audio, but for some reason they did away with that option in the update. You can listen to it, but it’s read by a electronic sounding voice. I hate it now.
Open minded 5/5
I was not sure about the app at first but once you start to familiarize yourself with it the way it works along with your professor is seamless .. being able to study anytime anywhere and complete exams makes this the modern stage of books
Pretty Good, Still Need a Computer 4/5
I love love love the audio function, which reads each section to me. It's a life-changer. The quizzes are well formatted for mobile. About 85% of the textbook is great on the app. The embedded charts, figures, videos, and the end-of-chapter reviews don't open in mobile, or don't open very well (mini mini font, lots of scrolling, etc.) So you do need a computer for that last 15% of the material.
u m 1/5
there’s no bookmark option ? i have to constantly highlight random text to try and keep track where i last read. + some person tried to tell me i could play this while i’m driving??
how would i do that and go from section to section. let me just swipe chapter to chapter mid drive to play the audio.
Best app for school’ 5/5
You can do important work right from your phone!
Great App 4/5
By Silva Slan
I can take my quizzes at the end of each chapter with this app? Awesome. I can read the chapters, highlight, etc.? More awesome. There is no way to bookmark a page, but the chapters are broken up by sections. The one issue that I found is that the app will glitch when I try to move backwards in the sections. I get up to a mini quiz point, and then want to go back a few steps. However, it will only let me go back one. If I click out and reselect part of the chapter from the menu, then it works fine. Otherwise, I enjoy using this app.
Great tool for studying 5/5
This app helps me out so much with my classes. It give me videos and activities to do to help me learn and remember the material that I am learning. 10/10
Missing Simple Features 2/5
I have been unable to find simple features such as bookmarking the page I am on. So every time I close out of the app for more than a few minutes I lose my place. Also, there was no option to start at the beginning of the book. Instead, I had to go to the table of contents and pick a section. If I try using the website instead, I routinely have issues with drop downs, etc blocking the questions on quizzes with no discernible way to close out. Considering I paid $90 for the access code, I would have expected more.

They had a lot Right
However, they failed to see the tremendous importance of the 'read to you' function which was above each section. This made me very upset I was about to offer a 4.5(for technical malfunctions) but this travesty hurts me, my academics and the long-term information that I could've attained if this update hadn't happened. On my phone I had the option to fast forward or slow down the reading(s) - It was amazing. You guys had the future settled, and now this; Bad Job.
Waste of time 1/5
Didn't have my courses
Waste less 5/5
I couldn't even do assignments on the app. My ebook did show, and I couldn't even work in assignments for my class. This app is 100% worthless. It says to "download" course but it would get to 90% and freeze and say try again. I really wanted this app to would and tried to get it to work for 3 weeks.
Cannot retrieve any of my classes.
UI Issue 3/5
The new update has some good stuff like the ability to change the speed of the audio, but you can't pause and unpause when in the text now. Instead you have to go to a menu to pause it. Makes the process more complicated than it needs to be. The issue is that often I might want to highlight some important information but I don't want the audio book to go one past what I've read so I would pause it while still on the book. Now I can't do that. It's not a major issue but it can be a bit annoying. Also you sill can't download the audio version on your phone for offline use. Really annoying since 50% of the time I have to study isn't near wifi and depending on where I am LTE can be very slow.
Why does this exist 1/5
It won't even let me log in saying my username and password are incorrect -.- I thought this would be helpful.

By App Innovator
So happy I can easily see my assignments and read them on my iPhone before class 👏👏👏
App doesn't work 1/5
This app will let me login but after that it says there was a problem retrieving my courses it says it every time
Please fix it. It has been a long time. 1/5
Pleas fix the issues. Can't use it. If there would be a negative rating , this app definitely owns it. Because it totally not working at all, not even once.
The app doesn't work. No matter what you do, the app will say "There was a problem"
Great program! 5/5
I love this great way to access my book! I can listen to the text and even read when I don't have internet. This is truly the future of all textbooks!
Love this app 5/5
Makes life easier when I can get stuff down wherever I am
This thing is magic 5/5
So I have a psychology class this semester, and this REVEL thing makes life much easier. It gives me some methods on how to study, and I did really well on my first exam thanks to the program!

Nice app. However, there are bug I couldn't do activities in the app error: k749066492
Works great! 5/5
Really like being able to do my reading and take the quiz right in the app. Very cool.
Doesn't work 1/5
Better than the website 5/5
Great UI and everything loads quickly. Nice that you can do quizzes/homework from the app.
No thanks 1/5
I don't use this app because you have to have the app read to you it has open on your screen. You can't use any other app and your screen has to be on or it will stop. Do you really expect me to leave my screen on and kill my battery?
