Don’t fall for the discount 1/5
Bought the year subscription and didn’t like the interface, canceled, and they kept the payment and blocked access. Total ripoff.
Very useful!! 5/5
Took me a little getting used to it, but despite occasional shutdowns and reboots, I still like this app. I’m able to create routes from my laptop and then download the GPX file to my Garmin Montana, able to download maps directly to my phone for out of service use, and best of all... track my rides for recall and reuse. Allows me to upload a few pics to the tracked ride, and share across social media platforms.
Close, but no cigar 2/5
I used Rever for a couple years. I was a premium user most of that time. However, somewhere along the line, the app stopped working for me. Every time the app closed, I’d be forced to login again. This wouldn’t be too much of an issue if it didn’t happen when I turned my screen off during a break or a long stretch of road to save battery. When I did this, the app would log me out, deleting any trip data I just gained. This also ruined the use of the REVERGo thing. If my app is logged out, it wouldn’t auto track my rides. Since the app seemed to be failing me, I tried the Rlink device out, for about an hour. Since the app kept hanging or crashing while activating, I was never able to actually get a ride in with it. Luckily, customer service was quick to help me out and let me return it. After that, I cancelled my premium membership and have been looking for alternatives. Still, I try the app whenever they have an update in hopes that my issues are solved. They’re not.
Only useful in areas already popular to ride in. 3/5
By Blue T and his SV
Looks like a great app but there are no entries in my area (western NY). The pins cluster around areas that are already popular and well known for riding. The premium Butler Maps option makes this feel more like a sales pitch. Maybe if caught on with more users in the area, but for now it’s not worth using.
Fun app 5/5
By Dr John 001
It’s a lot of fun to see your path at the end of a ride. A free trial of turn-by-turn directions was offered once, but the app crashed on me and I couldn’t do the trial. I wish we could update a web map in real time like FollowMee. I wish we got dynamic info like lean angles that some of the track apps offer. As it is, I run 3 moto apps at once to get all this, plus sometimes a gps app as well!
For what it is, it’s great! Wish it was more though.
Good, but crashes consistently 4/5
I enjoy my ride being memorialized & the ability to share a pic of the route.
The bad - I click Profile and the Rides ... the app crashes faster than a new rider on gravel. Hope they fix it.
iPhone XS Max 12.3.1 user on Rever’s latest release as of June 28, 2019.
Keep improving your app & everyone else enjoy the ride.
Awesome for adventure riding 5/5
Really great first impressions.
Good info - mediocre execution. Buggy? 3/5
So far impressed with the aggregation of data in this app. However it seems to crash a fair amount and also will not allow me to add a second waypoint to my route when starting with a specific waypoint within a preloaded route (Butler, BDR, etc.). This may be due to having not updating iOS yet - I will change this review should that be the case.
Frequent crashes 2/5
I’ve used the app in past years to record my rides, but with latest versions the app frequently crashes during the ride, obviously halting the recording of the ride. I really like using the app, but if these bugs are not remedied soon, I’m going to have to look for another app to use to record my rides. Thanks!
Love it 5/5
Not impressed 2/5
I’ve just started using this app and it keeps crashing on me. I tried to plan my trip and it doesn’t let me finish it! I had to start over around 5 times! Very annoying! It also lacks some basic features, like good editing routes!
So much potential 2/5
Why does REVER reroute my ride onto interstates and off my planned route when I follow wave points? I planed my route I want to ride it. I did choose “avoid highways”, it still reroutes. I tried setting lots of wave pointes and it still find places to reroute. If I follow the planed line it’s easy to loose the route unless you are focused on the app, and you should not, we are riding motorcycles and we should keep an eye on the road. The app crashes. Also it always records my route. Just another layer of competition. I don’t need to always record my route. If I did gps that will take me on the fastest route I could use google or Waze. I am a frustrated paying customer. I only keep the app because it has Butler maps.
To Cali we go 5/5
Setting up our trip from Ga across the country. Worked great once we figured out how to map !
Requires account, data collection 1/5
The app does not let you even browse the features it has to offer before requiring you to register for an account. Since my use case is simply to track my rides for reflection and re-rides, I don’t feel it’s acceptable to send all of my location to unknown, untrusted servers and would only use this app if it stored everything locally.
Jury out on premium 4/5
I love the tracking of Rever. I haven’t used Navigation only the tracking. I recently signed up for premium. I haven’t used it a lot, but it seems to slow the app down considerably. The 3D is cool, but pretty hard to use on a long ride.
Great for On and Off-Road 4/5
Been using Rever for about 3 years. Consistently getting better and better. Use it for planning routes before trips, adjusting during and sharing with riding buddies. Wish they could add a weather overlay, but this is so much easier than Garmin and Basecamp for planning. I import the GPX files to my Garmin as a backup as well. Would highly recommend!

Not Landscape Compatible 1/5
After a year and multiple conversations with tech support, they’re not interested in fixing this problem. They expect you to only use this while in portrait mode.
Spend your money elsewhere.
Buggy AF 1/5
Really buggy, especially if you have to start a planned route again. It will keep trying to route you to previous waypoints, etc.
Trip planning tool 5/5
By GS Mike
Best trip planning tool to create files for your Garmin GPS. Intuitive and with Butler map data it makes the premium membership worth every penny.
Choose a ride 1/5
By Ragged_ Edge
Can’t save any rides because it asks me to choose a ride.
Really bad 1/5
Don’t waist your time and money.
Had it for a few years.
I even subscribed for the upgraded version.
$23 down the drain.
Keeps crashing, only gives you interstate routes, no way of choosing if you want to take local roads, not user friendly at all.
Don’t pay for it.
Only decent thing is BDR routes. But I’m sure you can get them without rever.
Customer service 5/5
By A TdM
I upgraded to Premium and I couldn’t import gpx files. I emailed Rever’s customer to ask for help. REVER responded right away. We kept on going going back and forth until it worked for me. These guys offer great customer service.
By randy lowe
App is terrible for what I purchased it for. Expected to find rides in the areas I travel, not so OR I just don’t know how to use it!!
Why can’t app remember sign in info? 4/5
It’s annoying to have to sign every time I use REVER app.
Very disappointed 2/5
Upon much talk with other riders and close friends who have your app I Cancelled my subscription, your app has to many problems! Very clunky, doesn’t load, the pause/ start is a pain, trying to upload pics sucksYou should develop your product better before charging that premium.
Don’t waste your time 1/5
Doesn’t allow you to really select a route unless you place tons of waystops. To do so you need premium. Google maps does as much as this including collect your information. Pass.
NOT good, Plain and Simple 1/5
By Rever Hater
For the price of the app and the advertised map abilities etc this app comes up short big time. I opened it one last time to mess with it, but even though I paid for a subscription I plan on deleting the app. What a waist...
Maybe I should have restarted it? 1/5
By The Real Gucci Mane
Edit: so I switched from 3 starts to 1 because you have to pay premium for turn by turn directions? Lmaooooooo I’m good.
For some reason it didn’t show me turn by turn directions. The top of the screen was a white block (I’m assuming inside is where the “turn left here” message goes) and the bottom of the screen just stated where I was going. Wasn’t useful at all and it didn’t help that I only had maybe 3 1/2 inches of view in the map since the top and bottom was covered in white. Not only that but when it marked that I arrived at my destination it was way off. I was 2-3 blocks off my destination. Maybe I should have pulled over and restarted my app but I shouldn’t have to do that since I constantly kill background apps I don’t use. I’m sure this is a good app when it works but I’m going to stick to google maps from now on.
Really liking the app, but went on a awesome ride and the app froze up, lost all of my track, so disappointed
Great app 5/5
Used the free app version for a while then upgraded to premium and love it. Have planned a few rides with it and worked out great!
Over Coded and Over Rated 2/5
Update: These guys just keep adding code. What exactly is the point of the 3-D viewer? I finally gave up on Rever and cancelled my subscription. I had an annual premium subscription. When I cancelled it my subscription didn’t continue to the annual renewal date. I didn’t get a refund for the months they cut me short on either. All I can say is, “Wow.”
I switched over to Gaia.com. It’s a simple app that does what it says it will. You can plot your own routes and upload/download gpx files. It doesn’t crash and it doesn’t lose your data like Rever.
I have been a premium Rever user for years. Over those years I have defended and recommended it to dozens, if not hundreds of people. No more.
Why? 1. The folks at Rever used to be receptive to input. That is no longer the case and their tech support is lacking. 2. The app has been over coded to the point that it crashes, is slow to load, and loses data. 3. The turn-by-turn voice guidance is a joke. It’s just a lesser version of Google Maps. What is the point of adding that? 4. Premium members are subjected to being upsold to other Rever-sponsored products. Get a grip, guys. One reason we pay a premium price is so we don’t have to see that junk.
It’s a real shame to see what this app has turned into. It’s like a painting that was great, but the artist wouldn’t stop painting until he ruined it. If it doesn’t get cleaned up before my subscription renewal comes up I’m out. I’d rather use my Garmin.
App doesn’t work 1/5
From the get go, Rever has been problematic because it doesn’t stay open during rides. That means I have to keep WAZE open to see where I’m going, while Rever will record the ride. But now Rever is completely useless because it has ceased recording rides reliably; the recording function just shuts off for no reason midstream.
I found another riding app and intend on using it from here on because it stays open like a navigation app should and it records. You’re loss Rever.
Turn by turn 3/5
Great app, but you have to pay for turn by turn Navigation? You realize other apps provide that free right?
Best app for planning trips 5/5
I have tried most of the riding app and this is the best overall. Love the web interface to plan your routes.
What I like to see added.
1. Way to reverse route
2. Away to save favorites, like home, motel etc
Very good but could use some upgrades 4/5
I got my Grom stolen a couple days before Christmas. I had no security system and stupidly I didn’t chain it down to something being that it’s so small. And being that I live in NY, had no garage to put it in...easy pick up for the thieves.
So upon buying my new bike, I was looking for a security system to put in it. One with gps and alarm. After much searching I found RLink (via Scorpio website).
I think it’s great that it has an actual map that you can see where your bike is. It has tilt sensor and a shock sensor for your added convenience.
My only wish is that it could somehow have a stronger alerting system. I have to leave my phone on its loudest setting so that I can hear if it goes off and I fear it’s not loud enough. What about when I’m sleeping and it sends a one time text? I’d like a blaring alarm sound so I can pop out and get active!!!
Over all is a great app that provides a sense of security. Customer service got back to me whenever I had a question. Just add in a way to have the notifications louder then the phones settings and it’s a 5 star app
You should use release notes 1/5
Elevating my rides! 5/5
Such an awesome idea and concept. I love being able to track my motorcycle rides, not to mention the Butler Maps and REVER rides to help me find new rides.
No stable the App 1/5
It does not work “stable”.
Suddenly quit the App and lost all the track - also during a Pause, quit the App and lost the track.
The concept of the App is good, but needs more Development from your side.
Not recommended at this moment.
Crashes and looses data 1/5
I installed the app over a year ago.
First time I used, it crashed and a lost my data.
Stopped using since. Yesterday, I decided to give it a go again. Before departing for a long and planned trip. Guess what? It crashed again. The app doesn’t open anymore. It just opens, freezes and crash again. Lost my data again and truly regret having chosen Rever to record this trip because now I will simply never have it recorded.
Unable to cancel the premium membership 1/5
Very Disappointed I started to use the app with some success however found no benefit in purchasing the premium membership. Now I continue to get charged 5.99 a month and unable to figure out how to terminate the membership. Support for the app is very slow
App is good but wish they would make a car version 4/5
By Disorganized man
I like the app and a group of use have used it for car rides. It works well and it was good to have everyone following the same route. Wrote to the developers about making a car version but never heard anything back. Maybe a toggle that would let you add a car instead of just motorcycles but then I am sure the diehards would hate it.
I want to like it...buuut 2/5
By Howie Doin 85
I just can’t. I live in Chicago, which is the 3rd largest metropolitan area in the US behind NYC and LA, yet the ‘community’ feature is a ghost town. Moreover, I’ve been unable to find a way to start my own group in the community, so I’ve just given up. Additionally, the navigation feature is a complete joke. It’s not always practical or safe to ride on some of the most heavily traveled freeways/interstates in the country at rush hour, yet REVER offers no options whatsoever in avoiding freeways or offering alternative route options. Even if they did, I wouldn’t use the platform for navigation purposes because it feels like taking a step back in time to the early gen 1 and 2 iPhone map feature. Save yourself the headache, download Waze, and move on with life.
For me there were better options 1/5
I tried hard to use this app for the Mid Atlantic Back Country Discovery Route. I found it to be slow, clunky and with no positive feedback that I was using it properly. In the end I had no confidence that I would be able to successfully navigate with it - so I deleted it. I found another app that was free and includes some off-line maps, that was fast, and easy to use. Other people are successful with REVER - but I can’t figure out how.
Love it but app keeps crashing lately 3/5
Every time I either go to open the app or if I get last that to save a ride, the app crashes. Just did it 10 times in a row after being open for only a few seconds. It’s being doing this off and on for some time now. Leary of purchasing the full app thinking that too will crash.
Didn’t fully log in 2/5
App didn’t fully log in this morning. It showed my previous day’s trip. I ran 300+ km in the Alps and saved it as a second trip. When the app refreshed, I was fully logged in and only the first day’s trip remained.
North orientation on the map did not follow when moving the map. Auto pause caused a large gap in my first trip.
Getting disappointed 3/5
By Ed Jeffery
The app worked well until the last update. I’ve just done 2000 miles trying to track and not once did the track work. Every time I looked at my phone again it was like it never started a track. Looking for alternatives
Worst motorcycle tracking app 1/5
I will start with when I first started to use the app in 3/2017 it was relatively flawless. It would track in and out of service and never crash.
But that all changed when they started to pile on the updates shortly after I started to use it. After that it continually crashed in and out of cell service and would delete any current ride information.
I have since switched to Scenic which runs 1000% better then REVER ever did.
Horrible. App closes after period of time. I’ve lost several rides due to app closing for no reason. If you’re looking for something reliable to track rides, this isn’t it.
